Made a reference sheet for Ranger Violet!
I imagine that after she robbed Commander Red and fled the Red Ribbon Army, she went to protecting wildlife since she's shown caring for animals over her own comrades
Wonder if she's close to Android 17 in this scenario...

This never seems to get brought up in stories that put Sesshomaru in the present era but I really feel like someone who hates company and loves wandering around in the woods as much he does would immediately turn eco-terrorist upon glimpsing modern Tokyo

I like to imagine that android 17 had a crush on Krillin as well because of how similar 17 and 18 are. Also I would find it really funny for any get togethers between the 3 having 17 kinda dote on/chill with krillin and be ever so slightly catty with 18

Hello Cowboy Jen! I was wondering if you had any advice for me
Here’s the situation- I’m a young lesbian (I’ll be 17 going into college) and I’m going to study geology. I’m assuming my classes and later on my work environments are going to be mostly men since geology is a male-dominated field. Any advice for being in spaces without very many women? And picking a different field’s not a very good option either, geology’s been my obsession since I was five and I doubt I could give any other field as much attention and focus.
When I was DEAD SET on being in the DNR or a Forest Ranger or some kind of Park worker I was in my tweens and early teens. I loved the idea of working with people and animals and outside and getting to use my hands and my knowledge of land and history. Then some Jack Ass at the Corps of Engineers station I volunteered at told me women couldn't really do the job right and it was too dangerous and I lost confidence. I stopped going and didn't reapply for the Mayor's Youth Parks program I had worked at for two years. I just left the idea behind. I see now all the older women park rangers that are around and read stories of women like my current boss who was a naturalist for years in our county. I work at a nature center almost entirely staffed by strong women with the exception of the CEO, the marketing guy and one outreach guy. If I had seen any of these women in my teens i would have said "heck yeah women can do this".
You are going to be that leader, that beacon. That is a thought to keep in your pocket on hard days.
The truth about working with men is, in general, they don't really care and they kinda just feel awkward. They lack social skills around women so they end up saying the dumbest stuff. I am not saying men can't be total pains in the ass or feel threatened by you being around, they absolutely can. At the end of the day we are all human and women are 50% of the population so at some point they have dealt with women in class or at a job.
Mostly just start off with giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. Saying stupid stuff to try and be funny is not the same as harassment or hate. If you don't feel offended or insulted or threatened don't try feel like you are because you think you are supposed to be.
Look them in the eye, do listen to those who have good things to share, teach or discuss. Don't dismiss men for being men. Just as many humans, they want to share what they know and tell you what they have learned. I have been taught so much by the men I work with at the farm but I had to tell myself to listen and not just paint them in my brain as being bossy or mansplaining.
Don't shy away from questions when you need help. Ask when you need to ask and thank them for helping when they do. If you are interrupted by them say "I am not finished, please wait your turn" or something similar. Stand up for your right to share what you know or to get more information when you require it.
Basically, think of men as neutrally as possible until one proves he is to be avoided or ignored. Listen to your gut if you feel unsafe or degraded and keep notes on that behavior. If you must, tell your professor or a dept head if you feel like the bad actor will continue or possible endanger you.
Once you learn your trade you can recruit other women and share your love of your job/degree and some day it will not be more men than women around you!

I need a Dragon Ball spinoff about Android 17, like, yesterday. You’re telling me he became a park ranger, got married, had a kid, adopted two more, and you’re not even gonna show us what they LOOK LIKE?? You won’t even explain how it HAPPENED?? THAT SOUNDS SO FUN
I need a little comedy series about 17 being a husband/dad while trying to hold back his strength as a park ranger. Sprinkle in some angst of him relearning how to be human and MWAH 🤌

Are feathered friends better than human coworkers? Why not try out an Ornithology career for your sims! Once more requested by @catrillion, we wanted to work on something that incorporated a specific form of laws protecting animals, and came up with this.
This job is available for YA - Elder, and you can join via the Arboretum. Please note you will need to either play this in Moonlight Falls or save the Arboretum lot and place it in another neighbourhood for this to show up in game!
You will need to level Fishing, Science, and the hidden skill WildlifeFriend. This latter one maxes out at level 6. You can change and track this using MasterController, and the metrics in the job panel will update as you progress it.
No opportunities, uniforms, or books, and the lower levels will not have a carpool so make sure to send your sims to work manually!
Please note if you want to use this, you must have Nraas Careers installed for it to show up!
There are three custom tones:
Read Journals (increase Science) Socialise the Birds (WildlifeFriend) Survey the Park (Fishing)
Meet/Hang With Coworker have also been changed to "Meet Birds," and "Chill With the Birds."
If anyone can translate for me, I'd be very grateful!
Level descriptions under the cut:
Enthusiast - 10 simoleans p/h, 10:00 - 16:00, M-F
Description: You’ve loved birds for as long as you can remember; the family budgie that sat on your finger, the class cockatoo that someone taught to swear. You spend most of your days working the checkout at EverFresh Supermarket staring out the window at the trees in the car park, where a flock of parakeets have their nest. Maybe it’s time to spread your wings and look for a more interesting job?
Amateur Ornithologist - 15 sp/h, 10:00 - 16:00, M-F
Description: You’ve bid farewell to the checkout and instead set up camp in the local park, photographing birds for your local twitcher group on Sims Social. The pay is chickenfeed (unless you photograph Mothman himself) but your online friends might know where you might find something that pays more of the bills…
Park Volunteer - 20 sp/h, 09:00 - 17:00, W,T,F,S,U
Description: Now this is certainly better than the supermarket! The pay is still terrible but you get to spend your time outdoors at your local wildlife park – and most importantly, with your avian associates. Clean out their pens, guide lost tourists, and do a coffee run or three; you might make enough friends to get a little higher on the perch.
Conservation Education Guide - 40 sp/h, 09:00 - 18:00, W,T,F,S,U
Description: Despite their awkward reputation, ornithologists are a chatty lot when it comes to their favourite subject. The general public don’t tend to know a lot about birds, muddling up their crows and their ravens, and think that leaving out generic birdseed is just as good as black sunflower seeds, raisins, and tasty mealworms. Give them a lecture to remember – oh, and try to shill the organic bird food in the gift shop.
Intern - 45 sp/h, 09:00 - 18:00, W,T,F,S,U
Description: An actual job title and pay that doesn’t leave you eating ramen all week! Granted, it’s a lot of book learning along with the hands-on experience, with long hours studying and memorising complicated Latin names, but keep at it. Onwards and upwards!
Park Ranger - 55 sp/h, 05:00 - 14:00, W,T,F,S,U
Description: You’ve finally got your hat but it looks like you’ll be wearing a lot of them; being a park ranger means dealing with the public too. As well as showcasing the beauty of the natural world, you’ll be delivering activities to guests and raising awareness of just how important it is to keep their natural habitats safe. Hope visitors like trail walks and nest building competitions!
Bird Keeper - 60 sp/h, 05:00 - 14:00, W,T,F,S,U
Description: Finally, a flock of your own! You’re in charge of the bird habitat at the park, taking part in the captive breeding program and making sure the conservation effort is going according to plan. You’ll be hands on developing research projects and coming up with new enrichment ideas for your charges – a pity the higher ups said no to a birdie disco ball in the main office.
Conservation Delivery Manager - 75 sp/h, 09:00 - 17:00, M-F
Description: Another flock, but this time the underlings are a team of people rather than baby birds. You’re responsible for a team of wardens across the local area, sending them nationwide to ensure they deliver conservation projects funded by City Hall. There’s a lot of business plans and project management, but someone needs to make sure resources are allocated properly (and birds can’t hold a pen).
Protected Sites Advisor - 90 sp/h, 09:00 - 17:00, M,T,F
Description: You’re deep in the science side of ornithology now; working with local farmers to make sure their food production methods are environmentally friendly, reducing the impact of climate change, and ensuring that important ecosystems thrive and flourish. You’ll also get the chance to pitch sites for new developments and green spaces – so if you want a Birdie Bistro & Bar serving Band Slams & Baked Angel Food Cake, now’s your chance!
Ecologist - 150 sp/h, 09:00 - 17:00, M,W F
Description: You’re out of the suburbs and into the woods – time to be a consultant! You’ll be travelling all over SimNation to various sites and places that have the potential to become the latest havens for your bird friends, writing up surveys and reports to convince the mayor of Barnacle Bay perhaps they can build their luxury flats somewhere else and not disturb the local condor population. Ecological assessment work might not sound the most interesting on paper, but it’s hugely important to make sure you’re protecting birds for generations to come – children and eggs alike.
With thanks: To MissyHissy's career building tutorial!

‪Sally Ann McNelly, 18, and Shane Paul Stewart, 17, were a teenage couple from San Angelo, Texas. On the 4th of July, 1988, they attended a fireworks display at Lake Nasworhy. The following morning, a lake ranger discovered Stewart’s abandoned Chevrolet Cameo parked near the O.C. Fisher Reservoir several miles from Lake Nasworhy. With the couple nowhere to be found, they were reported missing.‬ ‪
‬ ‪Four months later, hunters stumbled across skeletal remains in a pasture south of Twin Buttes. The remains were identified as Sally and Shane and an autopsy concluded that they had been killed by shotgun blasts to the head. At a time when satanic panic was rife, rumours soon started to circulate that they had been murdered by a satanic cult that they were both involved in. According to friends, Sally and Shane attended parities with occult activities. It was alleged that the couple were involved in a satanic cult. Years later, investigators would rule the satanic cult theory out.‬ ‪
‬ The case eventually went cold but in 2017, there was a breakthrough when John Cyrus Gilbreath was pulled over on suspicion of possessing marijuana in Texas. When police searched his home, they found three Audi tapes with “SS” on them, a lock of hair, blood and a fingernail which could link him to the double murder. He has since been named as a person of interest in the cold case.‬

Dashawn Craig. 17.
An inexperienced teenage vampire for @birdietrait's coven of simblrs.
Three weeks ago, after partying at an underground rave, he got into a fight with a vampire, who left him bitten only but was too drunk to remember.
Is grappling with the fact that if he tells his new girlfriend Kelly, she will either break up with him or call the mental ward on him.
He and Kelly grew up together since they were 12 and grew closer in the months leading up to his transformation. The night he got bitten, he was feeling nauseous from drinking and ended up throwing up in her bathroom, and she asked him out.
Starting taking night classes, and also doing night shifts at his town's local pizza joint.
Recently scouted by his high school's lacrosse team (they play at night) because of his vampire powers.
Childhood dream job was to be a park ranger.
Has an addiction to skateboard video games.
His vampire abilities are severely underdeveloped since he does not drink human blood.

Erin Reed at Erin In The Morning:
On May 17, the National Park Service officially determined that park rangers and other employees cannot attend Pride festivities and parades in uniform. This decision reverses a long history of allowing such participation and even having official delegation in Pride parades across the United States. Anonymous LGBTQ+ employees report feeling betrayed and note that official Pride participation in major cities is uncertain as multiple parades finalize and applications to participate in parades remain unprocessed. The move comes amid increasing crackdowns on Pride flags and LGBTQ+ people nationwide. In most cases, Republican legislators and appointees have been behind such bans, but this time, it appears the National Park Service, led by a Biden-approved director, is restricting park participation in LGBTQ+ celebrations.
The decision was first disclosed in a memo to NPS employees that did not directly address Pride but stated that “requests from employees asking to participate in uniform in a variety of events and activities, including events not organized by the NPS” conflict with National Park policy. The specific provision cited states that NPS employees cannot wear the uniform to events that would construe support for “a particular issue, position, or political party.” Applying this provision to bar Pride participation drew ire from LGBTQ+ employees who assert that LGBTQ+ Pride is not about an “issue, position, or political party,” but about identity and diversity. Employees also pointed out that the internal ERG guide allowed for participation in Pride events and that park employees had participated in Pride events with approval for years under the current set of rules.
[...] The determination that participation in Pride events could be too political is questionable. The founding documents for Stonewall National Monument relate directly to the “resources and values” of the LGBTQ+ community. Furthermore, National Park Service Resources currently live on the site call for people to “Celebrate Pride,” citing Stonewall National Monument to state that “The LGBTQ experience is a vital facet of America’s rich and diverse past.” This resource emphasizes the importance of not rendering LGBTQ people invisible, stating, “By recovering the voices that have been erased and marginalized, the NPS embarks on an important project to capture and celebrate our multi-vocal past.” By barring employees from wearing pins showing their identities and by pulling out of Pride festivals, the NPS ironically may appear to be erasing and marginalizing its LGBTQ+ employees. National Park Service employees have marched in uniform for years. According to the Bay Area Reporter, in 2014, Christine Lenhertz of the National Park Service requested that a group of LGBTQ+ park service employees be allowed to wear their uniforms in the Pride parade. They were initially banned from doing so, prompting the group to file a complaint. She then sought a ruling from the Office of the Solicitor for the Department of the Interior, who ruled that there was no reason to ban her and other LGBTQ+ people from participating in uniform. Since then, many National Park Service contingents have participated in Pride events.
Shame on you, National Park Service, for caving into anti-LGBTQ+ extremists with this cowardly move to bar their employees from attending Pride parades and events while in their NPS uniforms!

Inktober Days 16-18
Day 16: Angel
Tumblr media
The story goes that a Methodist minister visiting Zion in 1916 saw this soaring, narrow slice of a peak and remarked that only angels could land there. Nowadays Angel’s Landing sees millions of ordinary angels attempting to reach the summit every year, and the photos of crammed conga lines hiking up and down are famous even outside the NPS. For those in park management, it’s become a symbol of the delicate balance we’re tasked to maintain—our dual mandate to preserve these lands unimpaired for future generations while allowing open access for the benefit and enjoyment of the people. Preservation and recreation. How to provide both? Sometimes it feels like a conundrum of Biblical proportions.
Day 17: Demon
Tumblr media
Demons, devils, monsters, vermin—the wolves of North America have been given many labels in the centuries after European colonization. Trapped, hunted, and poisoned to near extinction in most places, they’ve been removed for so long that in many cases we don’t know what a healthy ecosystem is supposed to look like with them in it. The most famous example of wolf reintroduction is in Yellowstone, but in some parks, like North Cascades and Glacier, wolves weren’t reintroduced by humans. Because these parks are connected to larger tracts of wilderness, wolves merely slipped back in when our backs were turned, taking up the old niche they’d been filling for ten thousand years. Now we lucky few have a chance to spy one of these shy predators in the wild, see their tracks in the soil, or hear their mournful song.
Day 18: Saddle
Tumblr media
Every Inktober, on my birthday, I draw myself in the prompt, usually as a witch. This year I’m back in the green and gray, and while I don’t actually patrol on horseback, this prompt gives a great nod to the Sermon on the Mount, a famous tidbit from Yellowstone’s history. Back when the park took a much different approach to wildlife management, one of the most popular things for visitors to do was attend a bear feeding program. Each night, rangers would dump the food waste from the hotel restaurants in an open garbage pit and the grizzly bears, which had learned what time to expect this each night, would swarm over the leftovers. The audience would sit in an amphitheater separated from the garbage pit by a protective ditch, and a ranger would sit astride a horse to tell the visitors all about the bears of Yellowstone. Hence, the “sermon on the mount.” The NPS has changed a lot since those days, and not just because feeding wildlife is now recognized as dangerous and damaging to man and beast. The attitude toward park programs has changed, as well. Interpreters now realize that it’s not enough to just spit facts at an audience. We’re charged with firing imaginations, provoking critical thinking, and stirring emotions to facilitate meaningful connections between the visitor and the resource. This role is what drives my love for this field. If I can inspire a visitor to explore more on their own, be curious about something new, or care more about a park's protection—that’s it. I’ve done something worthwhile.

bisexual carl thoughts
so listen, we got robbed of some bisexual content in the show with fiona’s exit so me and nosho ( @creepkinginc ) got talking and you know what? bisexual carl. we’re here for it. so we made him a boyfriend. meet ben.
carl brings his first ever actual boyfriend to sunday family dinner and at first the gallaghers are kinda confused because ben looks like a nobody. he has a boring name and a boring look, very average, nothing special about him. carl has had a slew of very interesting women and he’s with this guy? makes zero sense.
until ben opens his mouth. it makes sense then.
they learn he’s a baker and works at a bakery close to the police station and that’s how they met (”cops and dounts, huh?”) but ben had to give his number THREE times before carl got the hint. because why would a guy flirt with him? it took him a minute alright.
but ben also tells them he’s been a park ranger in new mexico where he’s from, a construction worker, for a while he worked with removing snakes and shit from peoples houses, you know, normal ben stuff.
at which the gallaghers tell him the story about carl killing the bald eagle hoping to get a laugh outta the guy
but he looks dissapointed and says he wishes he was there so he could show them how to prepare it properly. which then send him into a story about that time he killed and ate a poisionous snake.
the gallaghers just stare but carl nods and looks like its the most normal thing ever. ben informs them that they have to remember to bury the head should they ever have to do that because you can still step on it and get poisoned.
he then goes on to tell them about other wild animals you can eat. seagulls, snails, bugs, possums. and how to best prepare them.
alright so ian spots his tattoo and asks about it. its a ruler on his forearm and ben just shrugs and tells them he uses it to measure fish he catches sometimes. you never know when you have to measure something. its handy at ikea and when you gotta make sure a hole is deep enough. a hole for what? oh you never know when you need a hole with just the right size.
they keep talking and frank/monica/parents comes up and ben tells them about his survivalist father who dropped him in the woods one time with a swiss army knife and a lighter and he had to find his way back home. by himself. at 12.
(thats also the time he ate the snake. ya boy had to eat)
there’s just this distinct feeling ben could build you a house and do your taxes, but he’s also the typa guy who could tell you the best way to make a body dissapear and how to make a deadly weapon out of a paperclip and a stick. mcgyver style.
eventually it turns into this thing where everybody just waits for him to piggyback of whatever story they tell with a ”that reminds me of that one time…” and they all just KNOW its gonna be something outta the left field. just ben stories.
ian voices his concern about ben being a red flag to mickey but mickey’s like ”firecrotch, you married ME. if we turned out fine im sure ben and carl will be fine too. he’s weird as fuck but i kinda like the dude. good for carl the little pyschopath”
eventually they wanna add him to the gallagher group chat but he doesnt use facebook. or any social media sites. but he does have 17 different apps for hiking trails and apps for identifying plants you can eat or not eat and a compass app and— all the apps but not facebook. sorry.
so yeah, ben looks like he wouldnt make sense with carl but they get it now. he makes total sense with carl.
(i wrote this on my phone and didnt spellcheck so take it for what it is)

GT Marron redesign!
I hated her outfit and her personality in GT so much like why is this once cheerful and sweet child a spoiled brat who's worse than her mother at her age? And why is she wearing a flower grandma type outfit? She looks hideous in that! So basically in my version she's a fighter and a park ranger alongside her uncle. She was trained by Tien, Krillin, 17, and 18 and made her own gi, which was inspired by Goku's. She also wears weighted clothing underneath. Marron is still cheerful and upbeat like in Z and Super and her love of animals got her interested in joining 17. I also made her face chubbier and gave her dark eyes like Krillin.

Android 17 x Reader Blurb 1
naturally we all love android 17 as the responsible, family-man park ranger that he is
but imagine being his little lover during his younger, wild days. where he was a rebel without a cause and doing whatever the hell he wanted to just because he had the freedom to do it
and imagine being more reckless than him. the bad influence, so to speak. the one that responds to his big and bad ideas with even bigger and badder ones. you two paint the town red wherever you go and you're wanted in so many cities and towns, but they'll never catch you. as long as 17 can fly, you two don't ever have to worry about a thing
or, so you hoped
all it took was one overzealous "good samaritan" to shatter the illusion and sober up 17. you'd gotten shot after being recognized, and to your credit, neither of you had even done anything illegal or even slightly mischievous. you were just in the wrong place, at the wrong time. and that was the end of it all. you were hurt too badly for 17 to have any choice other than to rush you to the nearest hospital so you wouldn't bleed out in his arms
then came the arrests. the trials. the plea deal
you taking the fall for everything
he had a sister, you reminded him when he argued against the idea. one with a husband and they're gonna have kids someday. and they'd need a cool uncle to make life interesting
he couldn't look at you when they took you away for the last time for your sentence. they certainly threw the book at you, making an example of you when they gave you a lifetime in prison— the guy that tried to kill you didn't even get five years. it's his biggest regret, even long after he's made his life on the island as a park ranger and spends his days defending the nature his old friend android 16 loved so much
he feels horrible living as a free man, grown up enough to recognize the things he did were wrong and yet you didn't get this chance. you were young and dumb and it cost you your life. he's never sent you anything, or even called to check in. he hates himself for it every day, for being a coward that can't face you and even thank you for what you did for him and his life
he's got a wife and kids, a steady job... he's happy. almost
his wife doesn't know about his past. and so imagine her confusion when she gets a phone call one night from 18 as 17 puts the kids to bed
"tell my brother to call me when he can"
and imagine 17's shock when he calls her back
"she's out of jail?!"
and looking for him

Spotted Salamander - Ambystoma maculatum Loved this little guy! Me and my Fiancé got to talk to a nice park ranger at a state park we visited in Arkansas, and upon hearing that we were looking for Salamanders to photograph, he showed us this cute fella! The fog in his eyes are likely due to age, mainly, as he said he was around 17 (if I remember correctly)! They still use him for educational shows at the park and I'm sure he gets the care he needs! At a nearby pond that the ranger told us about, we also saw multiple spotted salamanders swimming up and down to the surface, presumably to catch bugs or air but we weren't really sure! We wouldn't be able to get any photos in that moment, but a few days later we did in a different area.
