Thank goodness for Luna that her sister heard her and arrived in time to save both Carolan, and herself!

I see the similarities. However, Luna does not slip into the True Embodiment of All Nightmare accidentally. She does often show some minor aspects of it, like fangs, flame at the nostrils, claws, or the like but those are done deliberately to emphasize some point.

Becoming the TRUE NIGHTMARE is also under voluntary control. She has not done so, at the time of this story, for about 2000 years. She only transformed to save the Rom. As she mentioned, awakening from the nightmare by herself is slower, too slow to save Carolan.

When the TRUE NIGHTMARE calls, she will be heard, regardless of distance. Celestia's swift response was due to her knowing that Luna would never use the EMBODIMENT OF ALL NIGHTMARES lightly. It is fortunate that she was in time to save Carolan.

By the way, Carolan is a bit of an Easter Egg for the Irish among my readers. Carolan was a blind harper of antiquity, so good that his tunes are still played on the Irish Harp. I have a few of them in modern recordings and listen to them often.
