Another choir rehearsal weekend, another row done! After focusing on my sweater and the needle-punched rug that still needs finishing, I put the blanket on the back burner for a bit. But I'm back at it, adding 13 during rehearsals and evening activities this weekend. I would have gotten more done but I finished the row in the middle of one of the evening lectures so I had to sit through the end before being able to take a picture 😅 Now I'm off for holidays so this is my main project for the week and the journey. I didn't bother separating out a batch of pieces to take with me as there are only 64 left (a nice round number for a software developer like me 😃) so I just brought them all. Let's see how far I'll get!

(In case anyone was wondering: I'm sewing these during rehearsals when I'm not singing or having to hold the sheet music in my hands. A lot of singers are crafting during rehearsals and as long as you're not disrupting anything, it's absolutely no problem. This weekend I saw knitting, crochet, cord making, embroidery plus my sewing of knitting. I've previously also seen tatting, spinning with a drop spindle and knotting friendship bracelets (is there a special term for this?). You can see my sheet music peeking out under the blanket on my knee 😃 my neighbours are periodically touching the different pieces for a texture experience 😁)

Working on a project to try and thin down my yarn hoard. Knit/crocheted squares for a patchwork blanket. I've finished 12 of 80 squares done so far.

So I'm knitting a patch work blanket as a memorial for my dog who passed in November, as her favourite thing was to deal and claim every blanket I ever made.

Exhibit A.

I decided to make it two colours, her main colour and her favourite colour... Only I didn't realise they were the colour profile for something else till I put the patches next to each other to get and idea of how it will look and well I done fucked up.

It's Dennis the fucking menace colours... Thankfully the old mut went almost completely grey so another colour has been orderd as as much as I enjoyed the show as a kid, I don't wanna look like a massive fan as an adult. Even in death, that dog is making me look like a fool. 😋🫣❤️

I had a nice pastel jelly roll and found this cute pattern at MSQC. I picked out the light teal for the pinwheel accent and a soft beige for the border and binding and did some simple straight line quilting on my domestic.

I should do this again. It was fun and fast and looks great.

I love making quilts and blankets, but when I offered one from my stack to a friend, they said that they really only wanted a blue one... so I made this! It started as a spite project but turned into something much better.

The front is made from upholstery samples that I got from a free event aimed at giving away items being sent to landfills. Because of the variety of fabric materials and types, it's a textural wonderland, with each square feeling very different from the ones next to it.

The back is flannel cotton, which is far less interesting.

The moon applique is a completely new technique for me, and one that I'm excited to try again in the future.

I hope my friend likes it. If not, I'll scream! Or at least be really bummed. This thing took a lot of work, and I'm honestly pretty proud of the results.

Finally done with this quilted blanket for my friend's baby :). I really love how it turned out ! The quilting was done by hand and I find it a really relaxing process.

Crafting forecast has changed! Some local organizations are looking for, well, a lot of things for disaster relief, but the one I can help with is the request for baby blankets so I am switching into baby blanket mode for I don't know how long

ok so i have like a combobulation of knowledge and i've tested out cycles and eevee! i don't have a preference just yet because they perform different things, i think of it more like using a pen or a pencil, it just depends on the occasion! but here's a list of different tuts, tut makers and even a discord!

hey knitblr!!! yall were so so nice when i expressed figuring out how to do a pattern i really liked. well, heres how its going! this is my first real knitting project and im working on a patchwork blanket! theyre 7"x7" squares and i got 5 balls of yarn so by my reckoning i think ill have about 20 squares in the end.

i need to do a green checkered one but before that im doing some experimentation for my next style - im doing a zig zag pattern which is going pretty well!

currently unsure how to weave ends in and sew together but ill learn that once all my squares are ready!
