something that i've been really enjoying about writing radiostatic recently is that they're both monsters in opposite directions. alastor is scary like a nightmare, like a bogeyman, grand and eldritch in scale in a way that alarms the animal hindbrain. but on a personal level, when he's in a good mood, he... seems kind of toothless, actually. what makes him really threatening is his mythos, not his human personality, which can be as meanspirited and cruel and manipulative as any other regualar person, but for the most part is just disarmingly eccentric. you're wary of what he can do but you're still willing to approach him.

on the other hand, though, vox is scary in ways that are viscerally human—he's your shitty boss, your abusive ex, your neglectful parents. he manipulates and gaslights and warps reality for his own gain and he does it with a smile and an insistence that it's for your own good, and you'll believe it. he doesn't have a terrifying reputation because he doesn't want one; it would honestly just impede what already works for him. the contrast is hilarious to me personally because i've found that my readers tend to be less on edge about alastor's serial killing and more alarmed about vox being a classic lying piece of shit and i find that delightfully funny

akutami randomly dropping more lore on gojo/geto/shoko makes me think that jjk was SUPPOSED to be much longer or at least he first planned to make the story have more arcs, but something along the way happened (likely fuckass shonen jump editors) that made him shorten the story drastically.

the three clans. kenjaku going to china and the whole thing about the usa army. even maki that was so insanely built up and didn't have that much of a satisfying conclusion (megumi too). like... you CAN'T tell me he planted all of this unintentionally. all of these themes could have built entire arcs. and you can't tell me that from the moment gojo got out of prison realm, the story didn't get absurdly rushed, because it did.

i don't know what happens with these huge shonen jump titles that get rushed all of sudden. i remember feeling the same thing about demon slayer, as the final arc came so abruptly while it didn't feel that the story was close to ending yet. it feels that at the same time that shonen jump wants another long lasting mega hit like naruto/one piece, they can't make a story last this much without draining the author's spirit. in the end, i feel sad because jjk had the potential to be a long lasting title with much more world building and lore to be explored.

Just had the horrible thought that the day Suguru went home to kill his parents, his mom was so happy to see him drop by for a surprise visit. It'd had been so long since they've seen each other. Suguru doesn't call as much as he used to ever since that important mission he mentioned months ago. And she greets him with a smile when the door opens, getting ready to give him a big hug...and then she slows down the closer she gets to him. She notices that he looks different. He isn't smiling. His eyes look exhausted and dark and almost...sad.

And when she asks him what's wrong, he doesn't answer. She asks him again and begins to close the distance. She reaches out to him and he pulls away from her before her fingers brush his arm. And, somehow, she just knows. She knows what's about to happen.

She's scared, sure, but she's mourning over whatever has happened she was unable to save her sweet boy from. She's confused, certainly, but she just knows that her Suguru will be haunted by this. Deep down, he's going to suffer.

In her dying moments, she's thinking about everything- all the changes she could have made to keep her son the happy and gentle soul he's always been. And she cries. Not for herself. But for him.

The last sight Suguru has of his mother is her crying for him as he kills her.

He doesn't sleep for quite some time afterwards.

thank you for your fashion insights lol i am currently cursed by even men's pants that fit my hips and waist managing to make my hips look curvy and my waist small :( i'll have to try that low waistline thing

(this is what I've been doing the last few months & has been working wonders for the proportionality 👌)

essentially with women's fashion you try and emphasise the narrowness (ex tiny waist in contrast with surrounding mass to create hourglass), with men's fashion you try and emphasise the wideness (ex making everything as wide as the widest bit which in our case is the hips -> natural waist needs to be eliminated (rip))

it might feel counterintuitive to use the hip width, might not look the way it does on tiny-hipped cis guys (but that's just smth we gotta deal with in general), and might take a while to get used to wearing pants like that, but it's definitely worth it

To be clear, the design process isn’t moving as fast as it used to, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to release as many patterns as I did last year. However, I’m still doing my best to bring some of my best ideas to life this year, and hopefully, they will all be released with just a slight delay.

I really wanted to spend more time on my Friendies this year, but unfortunately, there’s very little chance I’ll be able to.
