Love how Percy just casually drops lore all throughout the Son of Neptune. Frank and Hazel are getting the encyclopedia knowledge on every monster they encounter plus some extra side stories from how he fought them in gym classes and "oh yea, I had a fist fight with Kronos in Manhatten."

And then they meet Annabeth and realize that behind every goofy looking powerful guy, there's an incredibly smart, capable and even more powerful woman who makes sure he doesn't die on a daily basis and are like, "oh. thats why he's still alive."

Annabeth Chase in the new show acts like a cryptid. And I love her for that. Appearing out of the shadows, stalking Percy. She is THE weird tween girl. I cherish her with my whole heart.

It’s like mansplaining, but every time you even think about liking a change made in the show, they jump down your throat with “ACTUALLY in the books…” because the show is “doing it all wrong” and the change is “so out of character” and “doesn’t even make sense :/”

i was recently asked to give like a full rundown of a bunch of pjo characters genderbent don’t really know why;

listen i’m not like someone who’s a die hard gender bend person ?? idk what you’d call that but i don’t really care abt changing the characters i like how they are

however

while doing that (bc why not) i realised how much ppl just give the characters random ass names bc they start with the same letter and i beg you please stop it hurts me

like names hold so much power and if you simply look up the meaning of names or the origin of them that would be so obvious or even the simple reason their parents (or author) chose that name PLWASE

pipers name would not suddenly be peter hello ??? like why would we name her that why would annabeths name be andrew ? are we naming jason jessica now like what is the thought behind these names can we start really digging into this shit ???

I just finished the original PJO books and something that was so heartwarming, and basically cathartic, to see was Percy and Paul's relationship.

Percy was obviously protective over Sally first and Paul understood that completely. He wanted to be a good boyfriend as well as form a good bond with his potential stepson. He got him applied into the school he works at and even when a whole ass room exploded, Paul wasn't going to take it out on this kid. Even when he got his car back with an indented roof, he wasn't mad at him.

Perhaps he didn't understand the olympic side of Percy and Sally's life completely, but he was so curious, eager to learn and supportive (analyse this any way you want)

don't even get me started on Paul asking Percy's permission to mary his mom. Even if he denied that he meant it that way seriously, you cannot tell me that if Percy had told him to fuck off, he wouldn't.

And the way how comfortable Percy feels with him joining their family. The way that in BotL Paul hadn't even properly proposed to Sally and in tLO Percy's like "THAT'S MY (step)DAD. THOSE ARE MY PARENTS. I need to protect both of them" (obv his priority is sally but he cares for that man)

Bonus: Poseidon strolling up to Percy's birthday and Paul being so chill about the dad/ex-boyfriend being there was one of my fav moments from the books
