as a phantom thief, you were already familiar with strange things, so you shouldn't have been so surprised when your boyfriend turned into a cat

after all, you all had turned into mice in shido's palace once and one of the members of your group was a cat! 

but this time the curse had only hit your boyfriend, who had went ahead to check if the next area in the palace was safe

though your boyfriend didn't return again and instead a black cat did! 

it took you a while to realize that ren and the cat were the same person! or the same cat? well, they were the same! 

unlike morgana, ren couldn't talk in his cat state and instead only meowed at you

it was a surprise at first, but after the initial shock slowly faded away, he became quite adorable to look at

you gently picked up ren and couldn't help but pat his little head, immediately hearing him purr in response

honestly, you could've continued cuddling your boyfriend like this, but since you were in a palace, you didn't want to push your luck and get ambushed

the team retreated to the nearest safe room, with you carrying your boyfriend there

once you arrived there, you started to discuss how to handle this new situation, while you kept ren on your lap this entire time, patting him and feeding him little treats that you usually kept around for morgana

you weren't sure if he'd even enjoy them or not, but ren didn't seem to complain, so you continued feeding him with them

ultimately, the team decided to leave the palace for today and hope that this would reverse the effects of the curse ren was under

and sure enough, when you all left the palace again, ren turned back into his human self! 

though now he was complaining about those gross treats you fed him, while also seeming flustered that you cuddled with him so much in his cat form…

A/N: It looks like a cracked writing since I also sneeze loud.

-Gets jumpscared over the fact that you sneeze so loud.

-When he was brewing a coffee, you were chatting with him about your day until a dust flew to your nostril which your nose can't handle but to sneeze

-ACHOO!

-He gets jumpscared and immediately look at you, you immediately said "bless you" to yourself.

-Whenever you and Ren are in public, of course since the more funny thing you and him counter. Of course, Ren immediately grab your hand to the private area so you can sneeze.

-He brings handkerchief for you.

-If you have Persona and part of the Phantom Thieves, you definitely jumpscare the rest of members even Ryuji FLINCHED.

-It's much funny that you and your boyfriend cackle when they mistaken the sneeze for aggressive enemy or a dog who's pissy.

-When your nose is about to unleash, Ren immediately brings out a tissue for you to sneeze or steal your kiss.

-You'll blame yourself if Ren gets a cold.

-But if you have a pet dog or cat or whatever, he'll chuckle that it wakes up immediately.

-If you cough after sneezing, he'll give you a glass of water.

Somehow watching my cats have zoomies translated into Persona 5's Arseńe and by proxy Ren/Joker having them. Just what everyone in Japan needs, a hyper 13ft-ish demonic entity alongside his weird human charge. It ain't normal zoomies either. We got the kleptomaniac who will grab anything that glitters or interesting type.

Poor Sojiro goes to check on Ren just to find a pile of random shiny junk and the teen sitting on his haunches like a gargoyle. Meanwhile half the city have trash cans on their side whilst snobs notice random ass items gone.

Is this weird? Yes. Is this stupid? Yes. Would it happen to someone as dapper like Arseńe and Joker? Fuck yeah since the Persona based on the Legendary Thief hasn't been that active. He gotten another taste at his old life of adventure. An addiction merged with the classic zoomies.

The rest of the group are so confused about this behavior until half their Persona are snickering while the other side are shaking their heads. Imagine the Phantom Thieves' reactions once they're told its kleptomaniac zoomies. Or how normal it seems to the Persona although Ren getting it might be an unexpected side effect.

Plus I couldn't the resist image of Ryuji looking for his friend at night. Only to find Ren and Arseńe hunched other on a building like hyper cats about to crab walk or awkwardly pounce away. The amount of blackmail Futaba got as Ryuji screaming made the scene so much better.

aka,, I love symbolism. Very much. You'll see me research things like Victorian flower language or the history of zeppelins for YCmS for little scenes only for most of my research to never make it into the main body of the fic bc of workflow. And Arsene's such a beautiful dichotomy of a character; he appears energetic and gung-ho and boisterous most of the time, but when you peel away the public perception of him, there's an inherently melancholy character left behind. And interestingly enough, it is the inverse with Ren/Joker -- he's melancholy to the public, but a spitfire and full of life and energy when in private (the metaverse). I love it. It's probably my absolute favorite character trait to have...
