I know you posted the thing abt the periods and eva and rgu days ago but it is interesting. Everything at ohtori is filtered through like 5 layers of metaphor and fairytailification before its shadow hits platos cave wall whereas in eva the blood and guts and bodies are so very very real and are likely to end up all over everything. Probably some more advanced comparison to be done here but not by me.

No, I think that's a great observation!

In eva you have the contrast between machinery and meat and at its most extreme being reduced to a warm body (Rei), then in Utena it's as if everyone is a paper thin apparition, the realities of the human body are not given any attention, despite all the very suggestive imagery and outright sexual nudity.

Anthy exists at the most extreme end here just as Rei does in eva. Both Anthy and Rei are vessels, mere symbols, yet Rei's existence as a body is emphasized whereas Anthy having a body is more like it's almost a mere coincidence.

I'm drawn to the scene in end of eva where Rei's arm falls off and the scene in the elevator to the dueling arena where Anthy straight up vanishes. I feel like those are both very illustrative regarding how each show handles the body.

haha yeah, I’m a total nerd, but definitely an athletic nerd too, I’m currently training nonstop to get my mile sub-5-minutes during this outdoor season!

I also like to collect hobbies like I have 48 hours in my day and not 24, so that includes a bunch of athletic things, besides running (my main form of exercise)- I also lift, box, do pilates, do yoga, occasionally run marathons or half marathons, and I’m working on learning calisthenics! 💗💗

Dry dead leaves crunched under the weight of his body repting on the ground in the shadows with the maximum stealth possible as he was used to. Covered in his uniform with vegetation, leaves and mud, that made his cover in the middle of the cloudy battleground called jungle; hands gripping tight the long range rifle, putting his senses to work getting on the ordered position. Hearing, smelling, feeling his surroundings, high guard at all times.

The safety of the gun clicked with a steady move. Sight aimed at an open field over a fallen trunk from the deep foliage, one order, one shot, one kill, all what he had to and then return with the allies to accomplish the next task.

His eyes looked through the telescope, adjusting the lenses, searching for that one selected face, giving a look around to the amount of American soldiers occupying the burning village; women and kids being carried on trucks, some men taken away, others were getting ready to be brought to the enemy POW camps. He settled into his ground, squinting one of his eyes. Target in sight, ready to shoot, ready to comply.

The finger on the trigger froze, his attention got stolen as the corner of his eye caught a quick flutter, a bug, landing at the tip of the gun. He stood still, watching the creature, a butterfly flick its wings at a slow pace resting on the cold metal; the gentle flaps of white and bright yellow got him hypnotized, displaying in front of him, it was… beautiful, nothing as he could have seen before. He stared at it, watching that moment go away as the bug chose to leave flapping its wings gracefully, just as it came, it left followed by his eyes.

His mind came back to reality, blinking to focus on duty. Looking through the sight, the target was gone; guilt bit his chest, he missed the chance, he will have to track them back again.

between school and sports how will i ever have time to write anymore im gonna cry, this is what i get for trying to have hobbies while also being an athlete

running a mile as fast as I can is the worst, what on earth possessed me to decide to be a college track girl after doing it for all of high school

Being part of a community should mean mutual respect

I want to clarify something that I am asked, and in rare cases, criticized, in the tickling community, and it concerns anonymity.

The answer is very simple: that's my choice of privacy and personal safety.

Not everyone is in a position to be able to expose themselves publicly, for reasons ranging from work, to family, to social life, to the simple desire to keep certain areas of their existence separate. And this shouldn't only be respected, but also understood, especially in a community that revolves around a niche passion that many keep private.

Being part of a community should mean mutual respect.

A bit like if a ninja came to scold you for wearing sunglasses.

Everyone contributes as they can and as they feel like doing, and I'm certainly not here to judge those who do it with discretion.

Those who want to show their face are completely free to do so, but that's not a measure of authenticity or value.

I don't feel less true or less involved because of this, I feel consistent with myself, and that means much more to me.

And of course, it's also a matter of trust, esteem would be a fundamental requirement.
