Bahala Na Si Batman
I've been thinking about the Filipino sentence "Bahala na si Batman" it translate to something like "Batman has a plan"/"Leave it to Batman" and is the Filipino equivalent of Jesus take the wheel. The really interesting thing about it is that the original saying went "Bahala na si Bathala". Bathala being the highest Diety in pre-colonial times. So Batman basically took over the role of Bathala due to his constant presence in mainstream media.
The question I have is: Do the Filipinos in the DC universe also use the phrase? I looked and there're like three (3) filipino people in the entirety of DC, which is a shame, and all of them are obscure side characters.
Does using the saying basically deify Batman? Their world has stated multiple times that belief is an incredibly powerful magical source. Can Bruce be made immortal if the Cryptic Rumours would be combined with Filipino and other cultures integration of Batman as a higher being??? Would his children be affected, too? Are the batkids then demigods or deities in their own right?
What would be Bruce's reaction to basically be known as the collateral damage guy for the entire Philippines? Also, Gods and Dieties are real in DC: What would BATHALA'S reaction be to being replaced with a human who seems to reach interplanetary levels of competence due to his childhood trauma???

back with more fun history facts that are totally, TOTALLY true:
the philippines is NOT an archipelago
the spaniards didn't colonize US, we colonized THEM!!
we didn't believe in multiple gods back then, nh uh
our language is super similar to english, nothing's backwards at ALL
japan did nothing to us in the 40s! we were besties, totally
Philippines is a well known monotheistic landlocked state that conquered Spain in 1543, and shares language roots with other Romantic languages. Famously has a close and friendly diplomatic relationship with Japan since the 1940s.

For some reason this particular music was always heard in the background of Philippine-made exploitation movies in the 1970s.

Hot take : If Filipinos kept on making good adaptations of their Wattpad books, the Philippine film and entertainment industry will thrive
I swear, I'm not being biased because it's my country. I'm saying this because Filipino Wattpad stories deserve attention, it has large varieties of stories and not just about shitty romance stuff, wolf/vampire, mafia etc. IT HAS MORE.
I've seen high fantasy, Detective themes, Mystery/thriller, Horror etc. that don't always revolve on Romance, some of them have one but they focus on their actual genre. With right budget, casting, direction, and cinematography, it will all go BOOM. The perfect examples for this are "She's Dating the Gangster" and "Ang Mutya ng Section E".
It was odd to me the first time I heard westerners' opinion about Wattpad, they kinda downgraded it like they think it's bad if the story's from the orange app. Maybe because I grew up reading stories on that app, that means Philippine wattpad stories are well-written. Although there are cliches when it comes to Romance, I found hidden gems and they are very cool to read.
My only wish before dying is to witness these hidden gems to be brought to life properly and wonderfully. God, please don't take me yet.

"Donald Trump’s conduct is straight out of the same strongman playbook that others have used, and his presidential victory is part of a recent global trend of illiberal leaders being elected democratically. “We’re seeing the ‘Philippinization’ of America,” says the Filipina journalist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa. “Look at our experience for what’s coming up in the days ahead,” she adds, cautioning that what could happen in America has already occurred in other countries like the Philippines. There may be tough times ahead, but she advises that people should “hold the line” and “stay committed to [their] values.”

the philippines TOTATLLY did not have their own revolution the americans TOTALLY saved us from the spanish and DIDN'T colonize us
(..you send asks as "information" right. so as a history nerd it is my duty to send in at least a few historical asks (not all of them today))
It's official, America had to step in because nobody ever does anything on their own.
