India: India is the new leader in phone manufacturing
India: India is the new leader in phone manufacturing
Once upon a time, manufacturing of mobile phones was known as China. Madin China was the name everywhere. But now things have changed. India, which is advancing in all fields, is also creating records in the field of mobile manufacturing. India, which has reached the second position in this field, is likely to check China soon. Companies that are taking advantage of the product-based incentives…

It's a weird sort of defeatism I see whenever there's a story about a country in the global south discovering large reserves of some critical mineral or resource where people automatically go "oh no that's terrible for them" as if the "resource curse" is something that just passively happens instead of the results of active decisions by Imperialist Monopolistic Capital
Discovery of a resource to be exploited should - and moreover *can* - be a beacon of hope for increasing domestic manufacturing & moving local industry higher up the value chain & building qualitatively higher productive capacity without the need to service foreign speculative Capital.

the lack of an app drawer in iOS is so bizarre to me as an android user. no I don't want to use a search bar that's going to mix in web results just to launch an app, I don't want to trawl through settings to find a list of installed apps, and I don't want to have to hunt through a hundred home screen icons on my friend's phone to find it. put an iphone in my hand and I become a boomer. redditor moment.

Pro tip: okay so idk if I've mentioned this but first of all please join a more proffesional club, something related to your major whether it's just for community building or actual work. They tend to bring in companies periodically to tall about their work and available positions. Thats not the tip, the tip is to ask questions when they get to them.
This has two benefits, 1) they give out swag typically to the people who ask questions, I've gotten multiple insulated water bottles, pens, cups, notebooks, chapstick, and post it notes this way. The good shit (waterbottles and notebooks) go first so ask that question early and save money. Added bonus of getting to go undercover as someone associated with [company name]
2) great practice in asking questions in a perspective job setting. At some point you'll likely be going to career fairs and talking to people, and getting some low key practice asking questions about a company before hand will make it easier later in an already overwhelming environment.
Good questions can include things about the function of the company, how internships work, ect.
Today I simply asked if they looked for computer science majors because they were focusing on engineer majors, I didn't actually care about the answer, but with how many companies use computer science and computer/software engineering semi interchangeably it's a good question to feel comfy asking.

Use your phone for as long as it functions, don't upgrade unnecessarily
If you do need a new phone buy second hand/refurbished or if you want to buy new buy a fairphone (look them up)
It's really not hard if you take 0.5 seconds to actually think about your actions

I hardly write to anyone, actualy the first time in this syte, gotta say, I really like the layout of you comics, the pacing is quite good too; please do not misunderstood me, but why cut the pages like that? why not a full page, like the standard classic one? I think it would benefit your project, at the least to me
The answer to this question is quite simple, actually:
INSTAGRAM CROPPING SUCKS
And I started this comic on Insta and continue to post there. Yeah, I do in some cases prefer a more standard page layout, but it’s just not feasible with the site limitations.

I love you old indestructible tech I love you my 12 year old cintiq that is so strong I could beat someone to death with it I love you old ipod models you can throw through drywall I love you old cellphones that do not break when you sit on them. Engineered obsolescence is the worst thing to happen to mankind since organized religion, I do not want your shiny, sleek, cheaply made fairy bullshit that now only connects to shitty useless bluetooth I want technology that will last 10 years and beyond because I fucking paid for it and do not want to have to pay for it /again/ in 6 months when it breaks because I looked at it wrong.

this is my old woman moment of the day and it's happening at barely 7 am but I have spent the past hour searching for clear rubber phone cases. with which to protect my device. I decided on rubber after bad experiences with other materials. I have firmly made up my mind I would like the case to be clear and made of rubber and suitable for an android. and I simply cannot get through the apple ads to find this item. I think it all should be less difficult

Ok so eh.. got a new phone in the mail today owo'
And eh... it came with a start guide... that doesn't tell me anything about starting or using my phone. (Obviously I know how to start it but like... shouldn't stuff like this be... in the start guide???)
No see, user guide must be read... on the manufacturer's website. And to see the guide there you need a model number... that isn't on the box.
How the fuck am I supposed to know what they want me to do before starting the machine... if I must start the machine to get the model number to read the guide for said machine? 😶
Guys, I think they didn't think this one through.

The size of apps is so fucking inflated these days. And not only do they take up tons of storage, but they then will cache absurd amounts onto your phone for no reason
