What is Dokidokon?

Doki is mostly an anime and gaming event that is held in the summer in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They do accept cosplay from groups that aren't associated with anime or video games, such as the furry community, the Lolita community, comic cons, and others.

This option is completely fine, and there is nothing wrong with wanting to keep a private and intimate feel to your wedding ceremony. You can include this decision in your invitation materials, post signs at your venue, or have someone make an announcement before the ceremony that respectfully asks that there be no personal photos taken. Your day, your choice. Simple.

The Forest Wedding at Timber Ridge Trails
If you haven’t heard of Timber Ridge Trails, you’re in for a surprise. It’s a huge camping-turned-wedding site, complete with acres of forest and multiple horses.
We start out at a small acreage in Vernon, with a bridal party hard at work. I got to work photographing the gorgeous details.
And soon, our bride was ready.
Over at Timber Ridge, the guys were helping each other look the most dapper.
And it certainly paid off
At the ceremony site, guests were gathering. Although the overhead sun with a little warm, we had a cool breeze to cool us down.
As you can see, things got fairly breezy. In the best way.
The ceremony was lovely, they exchanged vows in a field of flowers.
After a group shot and some family photos, we trundled off into the forest for some formals. Shade is important for many reasons, not least of which the temperature. Thankfully, we had plenty of wooded area to spare!
And these beautiful bridesmaids!
While I found a spot for some moody formals, we had a volunteer bridesmaid help us with the flowers.
And now, a few portraits of the newlyweds.
In the middle of the resort, we had our reception. This is quite handy – no driving around after the formals! The sun had begun to set, and guests were hungry!
Of course, the moment the sun began to set, we ran out get some sunset sneakaway photos!

If you love poetry, especially multimodal/visual poetry, please let me rave to you about these authors who just presented their new books at a live reading I attended:
The live reading, titled “HYBRIDITIES: ‘Daughter Isotope’ X ‘Failure Biographies,’” was hosted by a person named Elæ (they/them), a representative from The Operating System & Liminal Labs. 
They began with a note on Land Acknowledgements and each speaker was encouraged to provide a visual description for attendees who were unable to see them for any reason. The group featured a number of nonbinary, trans, and queer artists and authors, and the event was very inclusive!

It’s a full time job for two people. We need someone to feed and medicate (when needed) all our 60 resident cats - plus the approx. 25 stray cats we feed each day. You will be required to get to know all the cats and their names + medical history and keep a log book, noting down vet visits and parasite treatment for each cat. You will be required to drive them to the vet whenever a vet visit is needed. We’re currently focused on providing a high quality life for our resident cats (after 11 years we now have many senior cats) but still seeking to get some of our resident cats adopted (some have been waiting a long time for a home). You are willing to help travel with cats for adoption, which means being calm and responsible while handling cats in stressful situations. It would be preferable if you’re keen on photography and can provide daily photos of the cats for our social media. It’s a big plus if you’re good with social media and might want to help with that too. During the summer period we get quite a few visitors to our Cat Cuddling Café. You’ll be required to give our visitors a tour of the cat garden during an evening feeding session and introduce them to our kitty crew - and provide refreshments. We are incredibly proud of the wonderful setting and life we’re able to offer our rescues here at our sanctuary and we want you to be proud representatives! When the house rental season starts you’ll also need to welcome our house guests, coordinate when our cleaner comes and be the reference point if our guests need help in any way.
