Pietro Maximoff Headcanon:
He visits his nephews (especially Tommy) twice a week at a small coffee shop in New York.
He meets every Thursday (if there is no villain or end of the world) in the afternoon hours with Kate, Clint and Tommy for "Speedsters and their Archers", a name coined by Tommy, Kate liked it (Clint and Pietro think it is an accurate name but they fervently deny it.
He gets along very well with Viv, so much so that he has become her favorite niece.
He visits or communicates with Vision whenever he can, he likes to be aware of what is happening in the life of his beloved ex-brother-in-law.
Lorna always calls him at night around 11 pm, Pietro got used to this during his days in X-factor so every night he waits for his little sister's calls.
Whenever he can he buys flowers and takes them to Wanda and Darcy's store.
Every two weeks Luna stays for 3 days at his house to spend time with him.
During Luna's time At home he talks about Django, so much so that Luna has started saying "O phuro Django" when she tells Crystal about her conversations with her father.
As a child he was a total mama's boy, Marya would sing to him and kiss his forehead so he could go to sleep.
Django instilled in him that he should always be on his sister's side, that they are twin brothers and that meant they should take care of each other.
At first he had trouble understanding the whole truth about his birth, which changed when Never Queen appeared.
He loves watching baseball games with Steve.
When he gets angry his accent becomes very noticeable.
He loves spending time with Janet and Hank Pym, he thinks it's very relaxing to talk to them or listen to them ramble on about any subject.

Just noticed a fun little detail in Uncanny Avengers 2017 - Pietro and Wanda's matching necklaces
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't recall if this was ever touched on in story. Maybe it was a cute little detail the artists added and I love it. In South Asian cultures parents who can do so gift their children matching jewelry, my siblings and I have matching necklaces with our birthstones from our parents. I can't speak for Romani culture and @scarlet--wiccan can speak on that better than me (apologies scarlet wiccan for making assumptions and if I'm wrong)
I also think it's interesting that Pietro always tucks the necklace under his clothes and the one panel it's out he's clutching it (hiding any pendant if there is any) - it's practical while running but like he's keeping his emotions close to his chest which fits as he's the more close off twin whereas Wanda wears hers over her clothes showing she's more approachable and it sparkles when she uses her powers haha.
If your thiking about how they approach their relationships with Jericho and Emily in this run as well it also fits as Wanda goes for it and makes the first move, while Pietro struggles to admit his feelings.

Random thoughts about simplying Maximoffs twins' origin.
Say in a hypothetical adaption of Maximoff twins in a game or animation, one needs to simplify the whole rather convoluted Nights of Wundagore origin, how will you go about it.
I think High Evolutionary, despite its lore significance to the Wundagore region and Marvel Universe, can be skipped/ignored here. Magda will simply be found by Django and Marya instead.(Yes, I am getting rid of Bova as well) And then she will pull a Padme on the Maximoffs I guess.
Chthon's marking can still be relatively easily explained if Maximoffs live closer to Wundagore mountain and within "effective range".

This is not an idea but just current continuity/facts.
With the current parentage for Pietro & Wanda Maximoff, we have told about a one per generation taking up/becoming a Scarlet title magic user, in the Maximoff bloodline. With also the reveal of their step-father Django also being their uncle, it seems like the Maximoffs have a magic bloodline, like the Minoru from Runaways.
Luna Maximoff is the only one of Maximoff blood, for the next generation.
Side note, the Inhumans haven't really had a magic user.
I need a Marvel writer to join my ‘Let Pietro Spend Time With His Daughter’ crusade. I’m broke, but I could knit you a real nice hat.
Plus, just more Luna in general. She’s going to grow up to be badass and tough as hell and I would like to see it.

It's Been So Long
{ @house-of-dadneto }
Now on ao3
Summary:
The reveal finally happens! Erik Lehnsherr knows Pietro Maximoff is his son.
Peter just didn't expect it would be because Apocalypse injured him and his mom was called, leaving her and Erik to talk.
Of course, Peter too-drugged up on painkillers to even hear the juicy details. Not cool Hank!
Confession
Peter should have expected this, he really should have — just because he was an “adult” doesn’t mean that his mom wouldn’t be worried.
It certainly doesn’t matter that she was hours away, and surely busy with work. Because when she got a call about his broken leg and arm in a (definitely badass) fight she would never just go ‘huh, alright.’
No, Marya Maximoff, for all she’s Pietro Django Maximoff aunt by blood, she was his mom for all but 2 years of his life — so one can bet their ass that she would race over to Xavier’s Institute (breaking several speed limits undoubtedly) and march up to the front door with the fury of a mama bear facing any threats for her cubs.
Really, Peter should have seen this coming.
Unfortunately for him, his dad, ex(current?) terrorist Magneto, was still helping rebuild the school and thus in full view and revealed to the full fury of Marya Maximoff storming up to the front door. A woman he recognized on sight, despite the growing greys and new wrinkles on her bronze skin.
“Marya?” Erik asks in stunned surprise, his blue eyes like a cloudy sky — murky with past memories, “Is that you?”
Marya twisted back, withholding a snarl at the man who interrupted her path to her son, and fell back in shock when she looked at the man.
Her ex brother-in-law — the father she kept away from her son all these twenty-six years.
“Max Eisenhardt or is it Erik Lehnsherr or perhaps Henryk Gurzsky, or is it some new name now?” Marya spat, “Why in God’s name are you at this school? Didn’t you just try to destroy the world days ago?!”
Erik’s Adam apple bobbed as he wetted his lips to explain, “I-,” The words died in his throat as he eyed Marya’s stern glare and he bowed his head, “I’m helping rebuild the school.”
“Oh?” Marya raised a brow, “And why did the school need rebuilding in the first place?” The accusation was clear in her voice.
Unluckily, or perhaps luckily, Erik was interrupted by the newly-placed mahogany (Charles Xavier was rich after all) front door opening, and the bald man himself came wheeling out, “Marya Maximoff, if you would please follow me, your son is conscious now and probably would be best if you come and explain why he should stay off his legs for a bit longer. Since he found out you were coming, he’s been buzzing with energy and quite frankly isn’t what you would call a rule-follower.” Charles chuckled fondly at that remission on the teen that broke into the pentagon all for the thrill of his kleptomaniac heart.
Marya’s eyes softened with relief upon hearing her son was up, and her lips quirked up with fond exasperation, “That boy,” She doesn’t give Magento a second glance and looks imploringly at Charles Xavier, “Please. I would appreciate seeing Peter now.”
‘Peter?’ Erik thought silently to himself, and oh the memories of the silver-haired boy flew by him. Of the boy — who was the first person to smile nicely at him in ten years and free him from the pentagon. Of the boy that never looked at Erik like he was a monster, even when he was set to destroy the world.
“I’m your… I’m here for family too.”
“I’m holding your neck so you don’t get whiplash,”“Whip…laaaaaaaaaash.”
“They told me you control metal.”
“You know, my mom once knew a guy who could do that.”
“Oh,” Erik gasped softly, ‘Even after everything the boy still thought of us as family… my nephew.”
Tears line his eyes at the thought. The peace and joy he felt with Magna — of being welcomed into the Maximoff family. Of having his first daughter Anya… until it all went in flames — literally.
Erik doesn’t blame Magna for leaving. Even if he still holds the belief that all those humans deserved to die for killing his baby — just as the ones who killed his dear Nina and his second-wife (coincidentally named) Magna. He should have controlled his anger and showed that he would have never hurt his wife despite his feelings on other humans.
Alas, that’s all in the past now, and he can do nothing but regret and drown in the pain of his past — hoping to repent for all his sins.
𖥔ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ𖥔
Peter found himself bounding with overwhelming energy. He needed to move… everything was just so slow! But he was trapped in the damned infermany on ‘doctor’s’ orders! Hank’s not even that kind of doctor!
But whatever, Peter just has to wait minutes (hours to him) and his mom will be here. She’s already called ahead that she was at the front gate.
Peter found his good leg bouncing and vibrating on the tile before him.
“Peter!” Hank sternly called, “No powers! We don’t want your metabolism to increase more than it already has and wear off the painkillers in your system.”
Peter sheepishly stopped vibrating in place, but he still couldn’t help but fidget.
He needed to move, like a fish needs water. It was torturous to keep him in one place for so long! Torture!
“It’s not torture Peter,” Hank rolls his eyes.
“Oh, I said that outloud didn’t I?” Peter said, keeping his words slow (it’s practically second nature now) so Hank could understand.
“Yes, Peter,” Hanks said amused, “And oh, look your mom and professor are already here. She can now scold you about not using your powers.”
Peter slumped down dramatically in the medical bed, but smiled as his mom came into view, “That’s not fair man, sicking my mom on me like that!”
Marya rolled her eyes, “Peter, you can handle staying still for a week. You’re just lucky your bones heal so fast.”
“Fiiiiiiiine!”
𖥔ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ⚡︎ᯓ𖥔
Marya smiles, seeing that her son is alright and will fully recover. However, Hank soon puts him on more painkillers as Peter grimaces in pain.
Unfortunately that also has the effect of making Peter incredibly sleepy and he soon passes out, which leaves Marya to have the much needed adult conversation now that she knows her son is alright.
Oh, if Peter wasn’t already so injured, she would grab him by the ear and give him an earful of his impulsive decisions and endangering his life, but for now all Marya can do is thank God that he is alright and that her baby returned to her.
And Max! Ugh, if he wasn’t Peter’s father Marya would kill that man!
Marya soon found himself making a coffee upstairs, doing her best to stay away after hours of driving. As much as she would love to fall asleep, she knows that her Lorna will be calling her soon — and despite knowing Peter is fine, she still is on edge. A mother’s plight, but she wouldn’t trade it for the world. Even if it came attached to the incredible but dangerous heritage that is Magneto.
And speak of the devil! Max decides to appear right in the kitchen.
Marya sighs and just asks, “Why did you do it?” There’s no need to explain what the ‘it’ is — ending the world is a pretty big neon sign after all.
She needs to know what in God’s name made him want to end the world. She has an idea, a horrible one. But she recognizes the kind of rage that Max went through — the kind of a parent’s loss, the soul aching pain that makes the world seem worthless.
Marya grips her coffee closer, biting her lip to stop tears from forming as she thinks of Wanda, her oldest (‘Only by 12 minutes!’ Peter would remind her). Even after 14 years… it still feels so fresh.
Erik looks up at the ceiling full of anguish, “Humans killed my daughter and wife.”
Marya stares blankly at her cooling drink, her lips feeling quite dry and she chucks the drink like a shot and stares right into Erik’s steely eyes, “Tell me about them.” She asks softly, her tone rekindling of the family she once was to the broken man.
Erik smiles sadly, “After your son broke me out of the pentagon, and I failed in killing the president-”
“Really, what’s up with you and US presidents?” Marya jokes, despite the seriousness of such a task, but she held no love for Nixon — his derogatory views for Jews enough for that opinion to form. Sure, she was Romani, but it sure didn’t make a difference to Nazi’s when they rounded up all the ‘bad bloods’. And she would fight tooth and nail before letting another drag her people — through suffering and loss and pain — through the mud.
She’s had a lifetime enough of being seen as the ‘inferior people’, and she absently rubs her forearm — the faded inked numbers still scarred into her skin.
Erik gives her a half smile, “Yes, well I did try to save JFK. He was a mutant after all. But Nixon…,” Erik scowled, and oh Marya knew that look, “He was trying to eradicate all of us just because we were born with a gift! Trying to kill us like cattle to slaughter and we are the Homo superiors — the next step in evolution!”
“Chill it with the speech Magneto.” Marya said dryly, “And sit your ass down, or is talking to your ex-human-sister-in-law too demeaning for you?”
Erik paused, his skin heated with embarrassment, and gracefully sat down, “My apologies Marya. I’m just rather… passionate about mutant rights as all mutants should be.”
“Yeah, well after seeing you talk all about your superiority on live-television in front of my mutant son who happens to love his very human little sister and mom, Peter wasn’t exactly in agreement with you.” Marya responded with a bit of a bite.
Erik sighs, “I never have the right words. Magna surely would have.” Then, he grimaces, “My latest wife that is, not that my first wife wouldn’t have. She would have just been-”
“A spit-fire.” Marya laughs, “Yeah Wanda inherited that from her.”
Erik perks up, “Wanda?”
Marya’s face pales and she bites her lip, “Peter’s twin.” She looked down, shallowing hard.
“I’m sorry,” Erik says, knowing all too-well that like his Nina her Wanda died, “Nina was only eight.”
“Wanda was twelve.”
Marya sighs and looks over to Erik. She sees so much of the man, her brother-in-law, that she once knew. There’s still that anger coiled in his veins, but there’s also that deep-rooted anguish and love for his family.
“Max, I have something to tell you.” Marya said, straightening her back. She knows that Peter desperately wanted his father to know of their relationship — how he spoke up it with such longing, but was afraid of her reaction when she demanded he stay away.
This is her duty to her son, and it’s Erik’s choice how he'll react after. She just hopes she’s right about this, as much as part of her is screaming not not saying anymore.
“Peter and Wanda were Magna’s Erik.” Marya spoke, her words like an admission of guilt.
Erik stood stoically freezing in place, his face impassive — not letting an ounce of… anything through.
Marya looked at the man sadly, “She didn’t know she was pregnant at the time, but then… the fire happened and you left and she was scared.”
“Then, nine months Wanda Marya Maximoff was born first followed by Pietro Django Maximoff. And God,” Marya let out a wet chuckle, “Wanda looked so much like Anya, and Peter was a mini-you minus his brown eyes and nose.”
Erik let out a stuttering breath — he felt like he'd just been punched as he listened to Marya. Even if he wished to rage against her words, deny it all. He knows it’s true.
And just like that he feels grief overwhelm him. Another child died, and he never even knew her. His daughter. A son was almost killed because of him.
Anya, Nina, Wanda, Pietro.
Their names like a damnation upon him.
Anya.
His oldest daughter disappeared before his eyes like ash. Dark charcoal leaving nothing of her beautiful smile behind. Only screams that haunted his nightmares.
He feels Marya’s arms wrap around him as he lets out choking, raspy, sobs.
Nina.
His youngest’s eyes turned vividly blue in fear as he tried to appeal to the human authority. But she couldn’t control her powers and her blue eyes dimmed as her blood soaked the ground. Just gone.
He feels her tears wet his shirt, and just-like-always he pulls away.
Wanda.
Wanda, another child. A daughter he only knew by name, but he can imagine her playing with her sisters. Wracking up some mischievous scheme with her twin.
Pietro.
His son. His alive son.
He hardly knows what he’s doing as he storms around Charles’ mansion, until he finds himself outside the medical bay.
Not even noticing as Marya followed close behind.
Erik looks at the unconscious boy — no man, no matter how young he still is, he’s an adult now (twenty-six years of never knowing, of being in his own son’s life) — and he allows himself to see himself in his own son. They have the same cheekbones and chin, and his eyes curve just like his while his eyes and nose are all Magna’s. Along with his shock of silver-hair all his own that frames his young face.
This is his son.
Erik didn't notice when tears started falling down his eyes again or when Marya gripped his hand tightly, but he couldn’t stop.
He’s failed another child. He almost let his own son die.
Erik can hear his son’s screams as his bones were shattered… and Erik looked away, content to do nothing!
The metal begins to warp and rattle in his vicinity.
His son’s brow furrows in his sleep at the noise, and Erik takes a deep breath in and controls himself.
Perhaps, it was for the best that Erik never knew of their relationship — that the boy was kept hidden from it, or he would surely have been destroyed by being in Erik’s presence.
It was only when they were apart, after all, that let the boy live to adulthood — and only when Erik was around the boy that he was put in danger.
Really, how reckless was it to allow a sixteen year old to break a terrorist out of the pentagon? To break him out of the pentagon?
And then, because the boy was simply seeking Erik out, he almost died because Erik was wrapped in a foolish plot with a delusional ‘mutant god’.
It would be better for everyone involved if Erik simply stayed away.
“Dad?” A drowsy voice spoke, and Erik's eyes snapped into focus to clearly see his son.
His son’s brown eyes were clearly foggy, and he wasn’t all lucid with the frankly unbelievable amount of drugs being pumped through him to keep the pain away — but he still, on some level, recognized Erik.
He called him dad.
That word felt like an arrow through the heart and Erik didn’t have to think before he sat before his son’s bedside and gripped his limp hand, “Yes, Pietro, I’m here. Mein Sohn.”
Peter blinked slowly, his brow furrowed a bit in confusion before he smiled, “That’s good dad. Love you.”
Erik shakily breathed in, as his son’s eyes fluttered close, and he kissed his son’s brow, “I love you too my boy. Mein Wundersohn.”
Marya smiled at the precious moment and she-for-once would admit she was wrong about this. Erik would never harm Peter, and as Erik fell asleep at Peter’s bedside holding his son's hand like a lifeline, Marya knew she was leaving her son in good hands.
Notes:
I absolutely love how this turned out! Also, I am currently so obsessed with Dadneto so I was super excited that House of Dadneto 2025 event is still ongoing!

have you read captain america: the ghost army? if you have, do you have any thoughts on sofia & andrei maximoff?
I have, and I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to! It's a well-paced story that does a good job balancing a whole lot of Marvel character history with some actually really interesting WWII history. I find that a lot of those stories hit the same beats in a way that feels reductive at best, and insensitive at worst, but Ghost Army felt fresh, and it made a point to acknowledge some facets of WWII history that are not often mentioned in this type of comic. Your mileage may vary on how much value there is to a single-panel mention of Japanese-American internment camps, or the vaguest allusion to Romani genocide, but if this story prompted young readers to learn about something they might never have been taught in school, I'll count that as a win.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sofia and Andrei were surprising delightful characters. For anyone that hasn't read the book, Captain America and Bucky are fighting Germans on the eastern front when they encounter a supernatural phenomenon plaguing a Transian village at the foot of-- where else-- Mount Wundagore. After driving the Nazis out of town with help from the Ghost Army-- which was a real thing-- Steve and Bucky are welcomed by a local blacksmith named Andrei Maximoff and his granddaughter, Sofia, who are stated to be Romani. Presumably, these are relatives of Wanda and Pietro. It's hard to guess how closely related they are, especially with how weird the twins' timeline has become, but this story is not set in 616 continuity anyways. In contrast to the other Maximoffs, Andrei and Sofia are settled, and they live and work in the village. It's hard to say whether this is any more or less likely than Django and Marya's migrant lifestyle, but it feels more grounded and realistic than the pastoral gypsy fantasy that they typically embody.
I often find that Romani characters in Marvel comics, especially those who appear in historical settings, exist primarily to represent victimhood and tragedy. Most of their stories are rooted in the systemic oppression and violence that we experience. This is important to represent, but it is also frustrating to feel like it is the only way we can be seen with empathy or humanity. We're either victims, or fairy-tale creatures. Andrei and Sofia are neither. They do reflect on some of the hardships they experience, and the impending Nazi threat, but they also have lives, careers, and identities outside of their oppression. I was particularly intrigued by Sofia's knowledge of science and ambitions of attending university, considering the barriers to education faced by Romani girls, both then and now.
Tumblr media
Additionally, Sofia insists that she and her grandfather do not practice magic, and that this is merely a "myth" about gypsies. This is a refreshing, if somewhat ironic contrast to... just about every other Romani Marvel character, including every single one of Sofia's own relatives, being some kind of witch. Subverting that trope is definitely a worthwhile goal, but this is perhaps not the most effective character to do it with-- although, I much prefer moments like this over a character like Sgt. Szardos.
Tumblr media
Overall, these characters felt like fully realized people that didn't rely on any of the stock tropes and expectations that Romani characters are so often defined by, and that, unto itself, is commendable. Throughout the story, Bucky voices some of these assumptions, only to be corrected by Sofia. There's definitely a conversation to be had about characters of color spending a disproportionate amount of time correcting racism, but these moments fit the middle-grade tone of the book and are well-balanced by Sofia's other attributes-- although, given the specific time and place, I do wish Romani slavery had been acknowledged. Ultimately, I felt like these characters were a breath of fresh air. I was really nervous about them when the book was first announced, but the author clearly did his research and had good intentions, and I think it paid off. Andrei and Sofia feel like valuable inclusions in the world of Romani comic book characters, and in Wanda and Pietro's family.

I think I just found confirmation of Wanda and Pietro being romani that is earlier than The Vision and the Scarlet Witch vol. 2
Tumblr media
"It was his judgement that we should be raised among our own kind. Seeking out Django and Marya Maximoff, a chidless g**** couple [...]"
The language here is offensive, but to me, this seems like a pretty clear statement that Magda, Pietro, and Wanda are all Romani. This is from Avengers #234 (1983), 2 years earlier than the now-famous panel where Magda calls herself a g**** in V&SW #5—so Wanda has been officially Romani since 1983

Hi! I absolutely love your fic Misfortune, and I’d love to hear more about the universe surrounding it! I’ve always been curious about the dynamic that was hinted at with Erik, Pietro and Luna, from what we saw it seemed very nuanced!!
I'd really like to start by saying that I'm so glad Misfortune resonated with you! It's tied for my favorite work I did for House of Dadneto 2024, and I hope that if there's a 2025 event, I'll be able to live up to my work in 2024. I also want to say that I adore A Quiet and Starry Place and am excited for any upcoming chapters!
Within Misfortune, I tried to capture the idea of people's words, actions, and beliefs not completely coinciding. Whether it be Wanda claiming not to care about Erik outside his relationship with Pietro while still visiting him (albeit on the astral plane) or Erik denying that Luna's birth and humanity has any impact on him, while joining the X-Men for that very reason. I also tried to show the breakdown of communication within the family unit, and how that only leads to more pain.
When Pietro got married to Crystal, Erik wasn't there. He never truly got an answer as to why, though it was mainly due to Erik being a fugitive after his failed rebellion after the attempted assassination of Charles Xavier. Crystal's pregnancy was announced soon after the wedding, and Erik seemed to be excited at the prospect of being a grandfather again. He gets along with Crystal, although he only visits twice during the pregnancy so Pietro and Crystal don't get in trouble for meeting with a fugitive. Even though Crystal is royalty, he doesn't want to risk anything.
Pietro wants Erik to be proud of him, he wants to have a good relationship with him. To Pietro, having a relationship with Erik and considering him his father alongside Django is both possible and okay. He considers Django his father, and Erik as his father as well, one does not cancel out the other. Wanda has a harder time reconciling the two, so she uses Pietro as an excuse to get closer to Erik, as she doesn't want to betray Django, Marya or Magda. That's one of the reasons he still hasn't met Billy or Tommy. That and the fact Wanda's afraid they'll get hurt if anyone finds out about their relationship to Erik.
When Luna is born, and born human, Pietro is afraid.
He's heard what people say about his father, and seen the things his father has said and done when it comes to coexistence with humans. He doesn't think he'll harm Luna, but he thinks that he'll ignore her, and that he'll pretend that both she, and he, don't exist. Crystal encourages him to tell Erik about his doubts and fears, but he doesn't, he only tells him his daughter is born human.
Truthfully, Erik never considered this.
He figured she'd either be born mutant or inhuman, and either one was fine with him. But to be baseline? That wasn't a possibility.
Pietro waited to tell him until he was already holding Luna, but the second she was placed into his arms, Erik loved her. He saw his own eyes-the eyes of his son- staring back up at him, and blonde hair that's a perfect mix of that of her mother and of her father. She was perfect, and he'd do anything to make the world safer for her.
But then, Pietro fearfully told him she's human. Only a moment later he took her back, afraid of what Erik might say. While Erik's loved many humans, that's not what he's known for.
His granddaughter will grow up hearing all about how Magneto fought against the humans, and she'll think that he doesn't love her. He does love her, but at the same time, she's human. He can't really reconcile the idea of his granddaughter being a human. She just can't be, yet she is.
While he doesn't believe in the possibility of true human-mutant coexistence, he does believe in her; and making the world safer so that Tommy, Billy, and Luna Maximoff can grow up unafraid.
He couldn't live with himself if she was afraid of him. He can't live with himself while his son is afraid of him.
He would destroy the world at the drop of a hat, but he'd keep it safe for his grandchildren. Human and mutant alike. He'll try coexistence if only to make Luna happy. It doesn't mean he won't fight for mutants with the same vigor he always did, it just means he'll try to live alongside the humans and advocate for peace.
He'll try it, just as he'll keep his promise to an old friend.
So, he packs up his meager belongings, and joins the X-Men. Not only for Charles, but for his children and grandchildren too. Perhaps this way he can prove to his son, his granddaughter and even himself that he hasn't already damaged his relationships beyond repair. He remains aware that every move he makes is being monitored, not only by the UN, but by his son too.
When word reaches Pietro that his father has joined the X-Men and has been saving humans and mutants alike, he sends him a gift. A way to let him know he still loves his father, and wants to maintain their relationship. Because Erik hasn't talked through any of this with him, he doesn't know how his father feels about Luna, or if joining the X-Men has any correlation at all. A few days later, Wanda decides to visit Erik in the astral plane.
As for the gift, I have my own opinion on what's inside; but I worry that whatever answer I give won't live up to what the individual reader thinks is inside. If you want to know what I originally wrote to be in it before letting it be ambiguous, let me know, and I'll reveal it and it's significance to Pietro as a person.
I hope this in-depth examination of character motives makes sense, and thank you for reading this long! I've always found Magneto to be a very interesting character, so I knew I wanted to do a character study to open House of Dadneto. In fact, this was the third fic I wrote for the event, but the first I posted. I had already written Polaris and Acceleration, Tangential Speed and the Practicality of Fatherhood when I started planning out Misfortune!
I've also considered following more of the X-Men 97 plot through the lens of this AU, but I'm not sure if I'll end up doing it or not. I have plenty of ideas when it come to Episodes 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10.

Why is Pietro white? I thought he was Romani
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pietro had always been portrayed with light skin, probably due to their origins of being experimented on by the High Evolutionary. Their origins are REALLY confusing and change depending on the comic, but he and Wanda had a few moments of discrimination due to them being Romani tho.

"Pietro was kidnapped from Serbia and brought to Wundagore Mountain, base of the High Evolutionary. For years, he and his twin sister, Wanda, believed they were the children of Romany couple, Django and Marya Maximoff, later revealed to be the twins' maternal uncle and aunt.[18] The High Evolutionary supposedly abducted the twins when they were babies and experimented on them, once he was disgusted with the results, he returned them to the Maximoffs' custody, disguised as regular mutants."
I kinda don't have a concrete answer tho.
I really like how they fix Wanda Design on Rivals, and I hope they do something similar if they ever put Pietro in the game.
