It’s time for me to tell you about my top 5 most hated enemies from any Videogame. These are in no particular order so bear with me.

Lizolfos: Legend of Zelda

I don’t know if my hatred really has to do with them as much as in they were horrible to fight in Skyward Sword because my Wii remote wasn’t calibrated for shit so I could never hit them. (I never got past the fire temple).

Dwarven Centurians: Skyrim

They are so big and overpowered. I hate them. I hate them with a passion. There is no reason for me to be a level 80 and they still take down half of my health in one hit. There is no reason. Fuck them. Fuck Bethesda for making them. And Fuck you if you like them.

Radroaches: Fallout

So the funny thing is that I’ve never even directly played fallout. I know they’re not really annoying, they aren’t hard to kill. The only reason they’re on this list is because the thought of massive radioactive cockroaches is terrifying.

Jolly Rodger: Pirates Online

So you may not consider this a videogame but it’s my blog and I do what I want. I don’t even know if he counts as an enemy per se because I don’t know if you ever actually fight him. Don’t look at me like that I never actually did the main quest. Basically the only time I ever interacted with him was during invasions which sucked but that’s a whole nother can of worms. But basically unless you were a crazy high level- if you got into like a 20 foot radius of him it would just insta kill you which was just really irritating overall. Do not recommend.

Marta: Outlast II

Once again I’m not sure if she exactly counts as an enemy since the whole thing with outlast is you can’t fight. But she is after you so I’ll count it. Yeah if you played the demo she’s the lady that cuts your dick in half. Being chased by cultists through a cornfield in the dark is already scary but when you add a witch lady with a MASSIVE pickaxe to the mix it’s just extremely terrifying. Which okay, yeah, that’s the point of horror games they’re supposed to be scary. But I swear I see her standing in the corner sometimes.

SoD - Record it for the History books...and the programmers

I’m seeing on the HTTYD tag that School of Dragons is shutting down and as someone who lost a beloved MMO back in the day, my heart goes out to you all

Never played it myself, but I can appreciate that it was out there

Saying that...I’d like to share a bit about that MMO I lost, Pirates of the Caribbean Online

Because at the time I was in college and pretty must postponed everything to enjoy my last few days with that game that was a big chunk of my childhood

And while I was doing that there was this group in the server I was on who was busy documenting as much of the game as possible with the intent to revive it

Revive it they did

The Legend of Pirates Online is the PotC MMO fully recreated by the fans, for the fans, for free, with nothing but passion and blood sweat and tears behind it

They’ve actually recently figured out how to program everything so they don’t have to do stuff like quest-building and asset-building fully by hand, and in addition to all the old stuff they’ve added new stuff and improved on the old

And as one of the fandom olds with that MMO, they did it well

So.  Calling out to everyone sad that School of Dragons is shutting down.

Start documenting assets.

I don’t care if it’s just screenshots of character comments or videos of dragons moving around, start doing it

Make it so that when that little dedicated group decides to bring it back from the ashes, they’ve got an easier time of it

Even if no one does, even if it takes years, document it for the history books

So much fandom and gaming history gets lost because these games were shut down with no documentation, so archive as much as you can

Just because the game is shutting down doesn’t mean the fans can’t ever bring it back

Pirates Online did it--now I pass that hope to you

listen. listen. how many times do we use websites we DONT LIKE to acquire a certain asset because we think theres no other options? A FUCKIN LOT

BUT! piracy becomes wider spread. COMPANIES are thrown off their high horses, being forced to work + do better to gain attention, because why would we even need them anymore? we've got piracy.

trying to raise prices needlessly? NOPE. trying to lower quality of products? NOPE. (etc. etc. because i'm too sleepy to expand more rn)

anyways. fuck establishment. fuck capitalism. good ngight

there are different levels of "i haven't experienced in full this piece of media yet but im participating in the fandom" and i find one of the most extreme examples is spoiler warnings in promare fanfiction

it's. a movie ? a bit under 2 hours, you're expected to watch it in one sitting. and it's Fanfiction. you can't get spoiled by accident because it showed up on your social media feed. you have to actively go into the ao3 to find it. are people out there reading fanfiction for a movie they haven't watched ? and i found it on several fics, it wasn't a one-off thing
