you know how in his guidance in smash bros dark pit says his and viridi's interests just so happen to "overlap" which is why he's working for her now. what on Earth kind of motivations could they have in common. I know the simple answer is "beat up pit" but I can't see pittoo condoning half the stuff viridi does just to do that. (should I be taking the lunar sanctum chapter as more of an indication?) please share your thoughts.

\ Wing of Freedom / PART 1 Dark Pit
A Kid Icarus Uprising Analysis of two Angels
Analysis that happened because I looked at Japanese translations.
This is very long. Not ideal for mobile.
Back when I was in this fandom years ago, a common question people are confused by is why Dark Pit is working for Viridi???? Like, he does need someone to make him fly but what happened to "I am Dark Pit, servant to no other than myself"?
At first, I wasn't bugged by it that much, it was something to add to what he was doing post-Uprising. But then I looked at the Japanese translation recently, and I went down a huge rabbit hole. Suddenly, how I viewed Kid Icarus changed. And I get back to how it relates to Viridi at the end.
There is a very common theme, mechanic and story element. That is Pit's ability (or lack thereof) to fly. But to understand its narrative importance I will start with Dark Pit's narrative. (Pit's will be in the next post.) And it's difference in Japanese. Which we'll tie into this flying theme.
From the get-go of Dark Pit's creation, to later events to show the difference between them.
(Dark Pit/Pittoo is English)
(ブラックピット/Burakku Pitto/Burapi is Japanese)
Dark Pit/Burakku Pitto's Creation
Dark Pit is anti-authority. "You're A boss, Pandora. But you're not MY boss." See how he makes a point, calling her by name, that she is indeed a boss, but goes against her anyways. He doesn't like the idea of being told what to do. He has his hand out clenched, making a point, a stance even. He is defying her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Burakku Pitto is dismissive and independent. When Pandôra demands to know why he isn't fighting Pitto, he replies "That doesn't have anything to do with me. I'll do whatever I want." It's less about going against her because she's a boss telling him what to do but more like he just got here, and he's going to do what he wants. His sprite is running, attacking, more focused on beating her than what she is saying.
It's anti-authority vs independent(?)
Get the idea? This is important for later. Now three more cases of the difference between them, that are vital to understanding Burakku Pitto.
Allies with Medusa?
Start of Chapter 6, Pit accuses Pittoo of working with the Underworld army. He responds with "Don't be ridiculous.". He calls the claim/idea ridiculous, and his pose suggests he is almost offended. He'll then go on to say he doesn't like someone copying his act.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same time Pitto accuses Burapi of being with the Underworld army. "I have nothing to do with the Underworld army!" He exclaims, yet is more informative. Having his fist out for this claim. He goes on to say he doesn't like the idea of there being another him. (Using the pose that Dark Pit has.)
Dark Pit ridicules the idea while Burakku Pitto gives a straight answer. Once against showing Pittoo's Anti-Authority Stance and Burapi independence. But is that all.
Very Interesting change in dialogue is after Pit/Pitto says he's the copy here. Their response is very interesting.
Dark Pit makes a quip. A Snarky response to make fun of Pit. "Come on now. Think about it." "If I was a copy, why would I kicky my own butt?" He's making fun of Pit, even crossing his arms with a smug look at the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Burakku Pitto fires back. Arguing he's not. "Why do you say that I'm the Copy!? Right now. I'm alive!" He exclaims and then gets angry, "How about it! I'm living!". His pose is offended/angry by the end of it. The idea of him being a copy upsets him and argues that by him existing he isn't, cause his choices are his, and his actions are his, and how dare he accuses him of being a copy! He makes his own choices! And that is what upsets Burakku Pitto, not the idea of authority, but him not being free/his choices not being his.
(Through this phrase definitely is not a one-to-one for English, and may have other meanings).
While he is aware that he is made from Pitto's "Dark thoughts", (as Palutena says in Japanese ver,) he doesn't like the term copy as it suggests his choices are not his own.
Freedom through anti-authority and Freedom through choices (or is it?).
Medusa/Medyūsa offers Assistance.
This is another case where Burakku Pitto isn't necessarily anti-authority.
Eventually, Medusa shows up. In English she calls Pittoo "a real go-getter" and Dark Pit replies "Is that so?"
Medyūsa comments that he's fighting back immediately. Burakku Pitto asks "You mean me?".
Both will offer the doppelgängers assistance in which they both reply with "Don't make me laugh" (though Burapi has a "Heh," before it).
Their response afterwards is very different though.
Dark Pit says "You got me confused with the other guy. THIS Pit is no pawn." Calling Pit a pawn and stating he himself isn't. He's against the idea of being used. He goes on to say he'll fight Medusa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Burakku Pitto response is VERY biblical. "Those who brandish a the sword of another do not have wings to alight." Which is a phrase that basically means "If I were to fight for another God/religion I will not be allowed into heaven for that betrayal." Usually the person saying this phrase already believes/fight for a God and is refusing to fight for another, believing they will be denied heaven. Of course in this context, Burakku Pitto doesn't have a God, but he does have something he probably respects/worships like one. (Which I'll reveal later). He then states he'll fight Medusa.
Anti-Authority vs Other authority(?)
When talking to Pit about Palutena (and response after his speech)
Their Views on Palutena and Pit/Pitto's Relationship are also interesting.
Dark Pit says "Bring it, puppet!" with an angry/ready-to-fight pose, when referring to Pit. In which Pit himself gets angry. He then goes on to say "Palutena says jump, you jump. She says fight, you fight." That Pit is obeying everything Palutena says. "It sounds like a very satisfying existence. For her, that is." He mocks Pit's choice to serve Palutena and listens to her without a fault, saying his existence is unsatisfying with a smug look. This is almost also a jab at Palutena, for having Pit be so loyal to her. Calling Pit a puppet is saying he doesn't have free choices.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Burakku Pitto instead says "Bring it on! You piece of goddess shit!" (yes he does swear). Not even naming Palutena and is in his running/attacking pose. Then goes on to say "You're always doing whatever the goddess tells you and fighting for her without any questions." Still not naming Palutena and not bringing her directly into the conversation but Pitto's status towards her. Saying Pitto follows her direction without question. But instead of mocking Pitto he then asks, "Don't you have any regrets about that life? Hm?" With his fish clenched. he's asking if Pitto regrets living a life of blind faith, living a life without Freedom. Freedom is established as something Burakku Pitto cares about greatly. And upon seeing Pitto not being free he wants to know if Pitto has any regrets about that.
Dark pit and Pit's conversation is about Pit's loyalty to Palutena.
Burakku Pitto and Pitto's is about Pit's regrets.
And while calling Pit a puppet implies Pit is not free, it's a lot more obvious that was the intention in Japanese.
Both Pit/Pitto say they're happy working for Palutena.
Then the conversation continues.
Dark Pit states confidently (with arms crossed) "The Mirror of Truth doesn't lie. I'm a reflection of your true self." Bringing up that his opinion had to be based on something Pit believes in. He goes on to say "So maybe your faith in her isn't quite so absolute after all." He says, making his point. Saying Pit doesn't have absolute faith in Palutena because he doesn't have faith in her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Burakku Pitto says (while in his thinking/pondering pose) "It's said that the "magic mirror of truth" shows the real truth." As if reflecting on what he has heard about his existence. He then uses what he knows to come to a conclusion against Pitto by saying "If that's so. my existence itself betrays your true feelings." but his true feelings about what exactly? Palutena, or Pitto's regrets?
Finally, after Pit/Pitto fires back one more time they say their final piece.
Dark Pit doesn't look impressed, "Looks like I touched a nerve. Methinks the puppet doth protest too much." He touched a nerve and mocks Pit for being a puppet once more telling him he shouldn't protest/talk so much. He then relents. "Ok, fine. Do what you want. Or rather, keep doing what she wants." Emphasis on the 'she' since it's her choices Pit is following, not his own. His side of the conversation ends with him smugly looking as he says "But I, for one, refuse to be a puppet. These wings take ME wherever I want to go!" He refuses to be like Pit and blindly follows orders. But what is interesting is that he mentions how his wings take him wherever he wants, as Pit's wings take Pit wherever Palutena wants.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Burakku Pitto looks smug. "They say people get irritated when you hit the mark." Using Pitto's defensiveness against him. He then relents by saying. "Fine. Do what you want." Recognising that Pitto's choice to serve Palutena is his choice. But it doesn't make him free. He ends by stating his perspective, "I absolutely refuse to be someone else's servant. With these wings. I will live freely!" He chooses not to serve anyone, saying that with these wings he can live freely.
What's interesting is that he ties his ability to be free to his wings. Remember that.
What both versions of him have in common is this idea of Freedom, and Pit not being free. Dark Pit sees his Freedom by not serving others and making his own choice, and Burakku Pitto sees Freedom, similarly, with the same values, but there is one main difference:
Freedom through ability to serve yourself vs Freedom through having the ability to serve yourself.
And I'll explain that difference in the final section of this Part.
Dark Pit/Burakku Pitto's Battle Cry
Jumping ahead many chapters we get to the battle cry during Chapter 21: Chaos Vortex. And we'll look at a single line from the cry, how the doppelgängers introduce themselves.
When Dark Pit introduces himself he says the following "And I am Dark Pit, servant to no other but myself!" Whereas Pit serves Palutena he serves himself and his own desires. This line is one of his most establishing character lines (imo). He is independent and makes his own choices, never to serve anyone else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But in Burakku Pitto's introduction he says "With wings of freedom, I am Black Pit!"
(Note: He is called 'Black Pit' when translated directly from Japanese (Burakku = Black, Pitto = Pit).)
It's a minor change in words but the implications are HUGE. One. He calls his wings "wings of freedom" since he can fly with them, but by extention, he's also calling that flight "freedom". And next, he says "With". When he has these 'Wings of Freedom' he is Burakku Pitto. He is free. But it also implies that he is independent because he has that wings. The main point is that 'with these wings/ability to fly I am free'. The ability to fly is the cause, the effect is that he is free.
Wings to fly with -> Freedom
Remember when I mentioned Burakku Pitto has something he respects/worships? That thing is 'flight' or more accurately 'being able to fly on his own'. He already has previously mentioned that because of his wings, he can live freely, but here, where he's meant to say who/what he serves, he doesn't say himself, he says his wings/flight.
But what does that mean?
Well if his freedom is tied to whether or not he can fly on his own. Then what does that mean when he can't? When he loses his ability to fly? Well, it means in his eyes:
He is no longer free.
That may sound like a stretch but consider it. If you were to play the game and instead of viewing the miracle of flight as being freedom instead of just being able to fly. This flying theme I mentioned at the beginning. What does that change? Well if Dark Pit doesn't see himself as free then he would be more open to working with someone, he is still defiant in nature but he would probably have to put up with it if he believed he lost his freedom. Doesn't help that the only way to get a bit of it back is by serving someone.
But what else does that change narratively?
Well, there is one other character that constantly talks about his wish to fly on his own. A character whose big thing is that they cannot fly but have a desire to do so. A character that Dark Pit got his deep desire/love of flight from but at the same time doesn't see him as free. A character that almost died because he tried to fly longer than he should of and suffered the consequences. Whereas if you viewed this wish for flight as also a wish for freedom it makes things a lot more interesting.
Pit.

Whumptober 2022 Day 21
"Take Me Instead."
Total turned to look at the building, seeing trails towards it. He peeked through the cracks in the door, seeing nothing but darkness. He backed off and took a deep breath, kicking the door in, prepared to kill. Fritz stood in front of the door, watching his blade, it bathed in the small amount of sunlight that leaked in. "Took longer than expected." Pittoo's eyes widened, she tried to speak but it came out in small muffled cries. She was gagged and her wrists bound behind her back. Total looked at his daughter, then back to fritz.
"Where is crow?" He stayed in a battle stance. Fritz smiled and looked at him.
"There's no need to worry, your precious son is-"
"ANSWER ME GOD DAMMIT!" He threw a dagger at Fritz, missing him purposefully. Pittoo leaned to avoid the dagger and watched. Fritz shifted, his gaze on Total.
"Are you sure that's what you wanna do?" Pittoo's wings twitched as she stayed still, her eyes locked on her father. Total stayed still, thinking.
"You want to kill me. I know you do. Let them go, and take me instead."
"Mm!" She shook her head, trying to dissuade her father.
"I do, I do want to kill you," he glanced back at Pittoo. "Doesn't look like she is interested in that deal though, and to be frank... neither am I." Pittoo's breath grew rapid. There was a loud bang against one of the doors near Fritz. Total glanced at the door. "Well there you go, There's your son." Pittoo cried and tried to speak again to no avail.
"Just let them go. I'll fold my cards."
"Oh yeah? Why not just kill you now? Then kill your son, then your daughter?" She shook her head again, tears welling in her eyes.
"You know we go even in a fight. Even if we did you aren't sure you'd win."
"Go even? Ohhhhh, you're talking about that. Let me tell you something," he stood up and got closer to him. "If I didn't know I would win. I would've killed your daughter and son when they were sitting in front of that shop."
"You're bluffing. Our speed is even and I overpower you by a mile."
"Then I'll show you... what real power looks like..." Fritz's body turned a faint red, Total's heart and head pounded and froze up. His breathing stopped as he looked into what could only be called hell.
"I-" Total's voice stuck in his throat. Pittoo shrank at the sight, her eyes filled with terror.
"Is this what you wanted?"Total gulped, his eyes wide. Pittoo's eyes turned back to her father as she watched in horror. Total fell to his knees.
           "P-please. Let them go."
"Sure sure," he threw Pittoo far and her back hit the other wall near Total. She wheezed, her breath unsteady at the blow. The winged girl looked up at her father, her eyes full of tears.
"Pittoo!" He grabbed his sword and stood on one knee, about to attack. Fritz looked back quickly toward him and Total's heart stopped. Pittoo grit her teeth against the cloth, her breathing ragged. Her chest ached from broken ribs. Fritz walked up to him and tied Total up. He threw the young father against the closet Crow was in. He slammed the front door shut, leaving them in the dark.

WAIT SHINY YOU’VE PLAYED KID ICARUS UPRISING??? god that makes me so happy to hear—it’s one of my fav games ever!!
i know this is way different from the content that you usually share/post on this blog, but would you be willing to share some thoughts on the game and/or its characters? i’d just love to hear what you have to say—if you have anything to say, ofc. the game is kinda old and i have no clue if you remember enough to share, plus this is completely different from your usual content
no pressure to answer this ofc! you can delete if you want—i’m honestly just hella happy that someone has played this game, i just love it sm <3
I did. It's one of the few not incredibly popular Nintendo games I've ever played, the only other one like it that I can think of at the top of my head is recent installments of the Fire Emblem series. Anyways, I got into it because I used to be absolutely obsessed with Super Smash Bros. You know, that game where you can fight as characters from different game series? Yeah, that one. Obsessed didn't even begin to describe it, I lived and breathed that game. But that's a whole other story. Anyways, my first main in SSB was Palutena, which is what got me to try the Kid Icarus game.
It's been a while since I played it. I want to say that the first and last time I played it was over five years ago, and I think I completed it fairly quickly too. Anyways, I like the character designs of the gods and the voice acting is neat to. I also remembering enjoying the twist that Medusa wasn't the final enemy, and you actually had a lot left to do before you can take on the true final boss Hades.
I don't remember a lot, but I do remember some of the main characters like Pit, Palutena, Pittoo, Viridi. Pit is a lovable protagonist. Yeah, he's all nice and friendly and heroic but it's not annoying. I actually really like him. Palutena's dialogue with Pit was always amusing to listen to, but I kind of wish we saw more of her in action. It felt like she was just the player in control and Pit was just the chess piece. Pittoo was an interesting addition. I wasn't really against it, I don't remember a lot besides Pit saving him. At first Viridi was very annoying antagonist, but then she became better and I liked her bickering with Pit.

@pieman1112 asked: ⛨: What would they sacrifice their life for?
ooc;; Obviously, as an angel he is indebted to his Goddess and all that she stands for to the point his life would be on the line... but in a broader scale, he would sacrifice himself for... Another.
Pit doesn’t take death lightly, and the thought of being truly, irreversibly finished terrifies him... but the thought of someone else being finished ( that didn’t totally deserve it ) scares him even more.
Tumblr media
ooc;; If a good or innocent life can be saved, Pit will want to save it with everything he’s got. Not to say that he’ll happily die to give someone else life... but if he’s putting himself in death’s way to save someone else in the heat of the moment, he won’t even think twice.

it’s time for the “overanalyzing one-off lines” show!
so the very first thing magnus says when he sees pit in chapter 2 of kid icarus: uprising is as follows:
Tumblr media
“Well, I didn’t expect to see an angel here. Hope this doesn’t mean I’ve kicked the bucket.”
now, i’m not sure if you’re aware, but that’s a really weird thing for someone to say, and it’s even more weird that no one comments on it. pit and palutena go on talking about unrelated things, as if that’s a totally normal and expected thing for magnus to say.
now, if you’re like me, you probably also didn’t really react to this line the first few times you saw it. it’s the second chapter, kiu has a lot of slightly-odd lines which turn out to be foreshadowing. me, personally? my first thought was “oh, i guess angels are probably associated with escorting the dead to the afterlife,“ and then i moved on.
they’re not, though. that’s what reapers do. and there’s no way humans have these two races mixed up. just fucking look at them.
Tumblr media
do they look anything alike to you??? no. they don’t. which raises the question of why, exactly, magnus said that.
now, we don’t know a lot about angels as a whole. pit (and by extension dark pit) is emphatically not the gold standard of angeldom. we can assume he looks fairly ordinary for an angel, seeing as no one has trouble identifying him as such. beyond that, though, a lot of what we know about angels comes from what pit isn’t. for starters, he can’t fly. and there’s something else, too, but i’ll get to that later.
before that, though, i’m gonna go through the various unsubstantiated comments made by people with a dubious level of authority on the subject. (incidentally, i sourced these screenshots from the wiki— much more convenient than trying to dig through youtube for every single random conversation.)
without any further ado! let’s get into it!
Angels as Messengers
Tumblr media
Gaol: Aw, Palutena’s little messenger boy. And Magnus, it’s always a pleasure. (src)
in the specific context of overanalyzing magnus’s first line, this is an important sentence to pick out. magnus and gaol are both humans, both with presumably a fairly similar history as mercenaries up until gaol got stuffed in a suit of armor. but while magnus makes a weird comment about death, gaol calls pit a messenger.
and pit agrees with her!
Tumblr media
Viridi: I wish I had an angel to do my bidding. It’s like having an intern.
Pit: I’m not an intern. I’m a messenger of the gods!
Viridi: Poor Pit. Don't you know that the definition of angel is "errand spirit"? (src)
this particular conversation is the most insight we get into angels as a whole, i think. viridi thinks of angels as like divine interns, there to do little tasks for gods, and palutena doesn’t exactly disagree with her. pit says they’re specifically messengers, which lines up with biblical mythology. i could see the traditional role of angels in the world of KI being exactly that, showing up to tell the humans what the gods have to say because the gods themselves are too busy being petty jerks to do it themselves.
The Angel’s Code of Conduct
Tumblr media
Magnus: You go in fully dressed? Don't you at least want to change into a...swimming tunic or something?
Pit: Oh, no no no! The angel's code of conduct says that we must always be ready for duty.
Magnus: I guess you wouldn't be an angel if you didn't do things by the book. (src)
Tumblr media
Pit: Hey! You know the angel's code of conduct! I need to be prepared at all times! (src)
another random little thing is the angel’s code of conduct. without a larger sample size, we can’t know if it’s a real thing or just an excuse to save on laundry, but apparently it’s against the rules to not be on call at all times. in pit’s case, the duty he has to be ready for is doing palutena’s dirty work, but it can easily mean just about anything— including, of course, being a messenger.
No Warrior
Tumblr media
Chariot Master: But you are no warrior, angel. Tell me, why do you fight?
Pit: I fight for Lady Palutena. And I fight for the people under her protection!
Chariot Master: That's not reason enough for an angel. (src)
remember how i said there was something else weird about pit? the chariot master seems to think angels aren’t very prone to battle— or perhaps even that they’re actively opposed to it. this lines up well with the idea that they’re supposed to be messengers, peaceful go-betweens for gods and mortals. this does not line up well with pit, the adorable weapon of mass destruction.
and it also does absolutely nothing to explain the question driving the whole existence of this post.
you know what does kinda lean towards an explanation?
No Other Angels
Tumblr media
Pit: Do all gods have their own angels, like you have me?
Palutena: No, I don't think that's necessarily the case. (src)
i said before that the Intern Pit conversation had the most illuminating information on angels. this is what i was actually referring to. on its own, it’s pretty innocuous, but it’s just as weird as the magnus line. shouldn’t pit know about other angels, seeing as he is one himself? but he doesn’t know if there are other angels.
the only angels we ever see are him and his clone. no one ever directly references the existence of other angels, they only make general statements about what angels as a whole are like— statements which clearly don’t apply to pit, meaning they’re not just extrapolating based on the one angel that definitely does exist.
the one time someone does comment on the hypothetical existence of other angels, palutena gives a vague answer to the tune of “no,” the topic is changed, and no one brings it up again.
let’s go over everything i’ve established about angels up to this point. they can fly, they’re peaceful messengers of the gods, and pit is the only one that seems to exist as of the start of KIU.
it should be pretty obvious at this point what answer i’m dancing around, if it wasn’t obvious from the start. pit is the only angel around because all the other ones are dead. the reason why magnus said what he did is that his thought process went something like this:
See an angel.
Think “Aren’t angels extinct? Is that a ghost? Am I a ghost? I sure hope not.“
Make a quip about that.
Move on with his life, because he isn’t dead and evidently neither is this guy.
i’m not gonna pretend i went into this post with the intent of any other conclusion to that mystery. anyone who’s bothered glancing over a plot summary for the original kid icarus can draw that conclusion. it’s certainly what i did, reinforced by fics by people who had the same thought!
the truth, however, is that this was all a trick to get you to read my analysis of the theoretical nature of angels as a race. now that you’re invested, i’m going to dramatically throw aside my cape and reveal my TRUE FORM: telling people that fandom consensus is wrong, and my ideas are cooler and better than everyone else’s and you should all throw roses at my feet and bow before your king.
(or just, y’know, take it as the subjective analysis that it is. whatever floats your boat.)
Hot Takes
the original kid icarus does not actually tell you about angels going extinct. here’s the wiki article with the full text of the backstory, just for convenience, so you know what i’m on about for the rest of this post.
so, the part of the story that i think gets misinterpreted is this part about palutena’s army.
Medusa led a surprise attack on Palutena's army which could barely fend off the attack. Palutena's army suffered major losses and was heavily defeated in the final battle.
specifically, i think a lot of people interpret said army as having been made up at least partly of angels. sure, in the actual game it consists entirely of centurions, but you have to take old NES games with a grain of salt. i know i don’t buy for a second that pit was part of palutena’s guard before the original game (he was just too goddamn young), there’s nothing wrong with reinterpreting things.
recall everything i established about angels already, though. this is the hot official lore, from the game everyone knows and loves. angels are messengers, and if the chariot master is to be believed, never warriors. pit is an outlier. palutena’s army consists of centurions, not angels. if medusa wiped them out, it wasn’t because they were fighting for palutena.
(and honestly, i don’t think angels are necessarily associated with palutena exclusively. sure, she’s got the wing imagery, and she’s got the one known surviving angel working for her, at least up until pittoo is born. but angels are messengers of the gods, not messengers of palutena. again, pit is an outlier.)
which all brings us to the real question of this post.
what the FUCK happened to all the other angels? why is there only pit? why does magnus act surprised to see a messenger of the gods, and make a quip about being dead, if not because angels are otherwise extinct?! WHO KILLED THEM, AND WHY?!
thus concludes the “over analyzing one-off lines“ show. see you next, uh, maybe at some point if i feel like it!
(also another thought i had but couldn’t find room to fit it in properly: the gods don’t really act like angels are all extinct, but i feel like that can be explained through the sheer scale of a god’s lifespan. if we assume they were wiped out sometime around the original kid icarus (even if not as palutena’s army) then that’s a whole twenty-five years. that’s a long time for us humans, but for a god, that might as well be last tuesday. “yeah, i know what angels are like. sure wish i could have one. too bad palutena’s got a monopoly on the one single angel that medusa didn’t manage to wreck.”)

last one here
the last fighter had arrived in smash only a while back, the newest fighter was reclusive, only cloud and sephiroth knew the warrior and didnt really divulge to much on the new fighter. some of the smashers where just fine with not knowing others, mainly samus, had attempted to get the two with knowledge drunk enough to tell her, all failed attempts, sephiroth is a heavy drinker and cloud passes out and stays out. pokemon trainer had a more subtle version of earning information with the help of his pokemon, very few managed to return with information and all information retrieved was futile and extremely unhelpful, they learned many things that day. some of the smashers where more or less immature children over it, desperately needing to know, pit being one of them and dark pit being fed the fuck up with pits bullshit.
"come on pittoo!" pit whined as dark pit dragged the light angel across the ground from the new smashers bed room door. "just one look!" he added on.
"no way." dark pit growled out. "if you want to be his friend, then stay on his good side by not checking out his room!" dark pit shouted.
"please...?" pit whined dark pit making his way over to a window.
"if you dont shut the fuck up right now i will drop you." dark pit warned as he dangled the angel out of window, by his wings watching as pit struggled to get back into the building.
"fine! fine! i'll stop, i'll stop!" pit exclaimed. "please just pull me back into the building!" the light angle begged having dark pit smirk before leaning a little over the edge pushing pit further away in the process who shrieked in fear.
"ha! as if." dark pit said. "guess how long the window is your home this time?" dark pit asked coyly.
"this time? an hour." pit sighed, before having dark pit pull him back through the window at an extreme speed.
"an hour!? im not that cruel!" dark pit exclaimed, still keeping a vice grip on pits scarf. "instead im hiding your DS." dark pit said hearing pit groan in defeat.
"not that, you know i need to make sure my villagers dont leave my town!" pit said.
"to bad for you." dark pit said before releasing his grip on pit. "why dont you go chat with link or something." dark pit offered.
"me and him still arent on talking terms pittoo." pit said hearing dark pit growl.
"you know what pit, i wont hide your DS if you stop calling me pitto, if not then your sweet little villagers will be residing in hell." dark pit growled handing pit a death glare that spoke volumes to anyone that it was aimed at.
"but pittoo, palutena gave you that nickname, and if she calls you that then i should to!" pit said attempting to defend himself.
"you know what being called pit two does to me?!" dark pit asked furiously. "self esteem issues jackass!" he added on before pit could answer. "now if youll excuse im going to go and mutilate your copy of animal crossing new leaf." dark pit said as he made his way off.
"please dont!" pit shouted out.
"you know im just going to hide it, i have a soul!" dark pit shouted back.
"now whatll i do...?" pit whined as he made his way back across the hall over to the window, a chilled breeze hitting his face. "least it looks nice out." he thought with a soft smile ruffling his feathers a bit before a tap on his shoulders brought him from his thoughts he turned around rapidly finding someone with relatively spikey brown hair and blue eyes in front of the angel with cloud and sephiroth in the back.
"uh..." was all the person could get out, knowing damn well his 'friends' from final fantasy where fucking him over saying the angel was a female.
"anything i can help you with?" pit asked assuming it couldnt have been the new fighter.
"oh, nothing, my friends just said you where a girl, and decided to make me attempt to flirt with you." the kid said.
"well its pretty clear from the front im a guy." pit said with a soft smile on his face.
"yeah i see that now, cloud and sephiroth are asses from time to time." the kid said with a light chuckle, face tainted pink.
"its working." cloud signed to sephiroth, not wanting to interrupt sora and pit.
"i know." sephiroth signed back.
"wait, sephiroth and cloud are your friends?" pit asked.
"yep." the kid answered with.
"so your the new smasher?!" pit asked in shock that someone so scrawny could be the new fighter.
"thast me! sora from kingodm hearts!" sora answered with a smirk.
"but your so scrawny! no muscle at all!" pit exclaimed.
"you to." sora answered with.
"yeah but, im an angel." pit answered with in defense.
"you are pretty, but how can you expect to stay in this tourney looking so weak." sora said.
"no, im a literal angel, like i can fly with these." pit said as he fanned out his wings.
"o-oh, sorry for calling you pretty then..." sora answered with sheepishly, clearly embarrassed face painted red.
"no, its fine, anyone else attempting to flirt with me over the rest of the newcomers gave up upon seeing i was a dude, so your got more balls than the rest of them." pit said with a light chuckle thinking back on the failed attempt of the rest of them, except for dark pits attempt, the dark one could tell in an instant it was pit and refused altogether.
"right, maybe we could hang out sometime then?" sora asked, lacking in experience in the romance department.
"how does a picnic on the roof sound later on today?" pit offered.
"s-sure, sounds like a plan to me." sora said nervously as pit climbed onto the ledge.
"alright see you then!" pit said as he hopped down and shot up on an air current gliding off into the distance.

Hi my name is Dark Black “Pittoo” Pit II and I have spiky ebony black hair (that's how I got my name) with black angel wings coming out of my back and crimson red eyes like blood and a lot of people tell me I look like Pit (AN: if u don't know who he is, good). Unfortunately I’m related to Pit but I wish I wasn’t because he's super fucking annoying. I'm an angel but I don’t answer to any gods. I have slightly tan skin. I'm also a double, and I came from a magic mirror called the Mirror of Truth in Pandora’s Labyrinth where I came out of the mirror before Pit could fully destroy it (I’m the original though). I'm a goth (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black chiton with matching gold trim around it and black tights underneath, black and gold wrist cuffs and black gladiator sandals. I was wearing a gold laurel crown, a purple belt, a purple fibula and black eyeliner. I was walking outside Skyworld. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of Centurions stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.
