Been obsessed with wing whump, specifically when someone clips Whumpee's wings because they know how much they love the freedom that comes with flying.

Caretaker and the doctor reassure Whumpee that they'll be able to fly again, but Whumpee is in tears at the thought of having to wait potentially over a year for the feathers to regrow properly.

For reference, clipped wings take between 6 to 18 months. Imagine how much time that would be for Whumpee's wings.

Just. I love the trauma and anguish that would come with a Whumpee's wings being clipped.

wait even worse what if diluc and dainsleif strike up a friendship based off watching kaeya, technically both just want the best for him and to make sure he doesn't 'stray' from the path of mondstadt and meanwhile kaeya who is full aware of their surveillance and full aware it's because they don't believe him.... its nothing less than what he expected or deserves, of course, but that doesn't mean his heart doesn't ache from the knowledge that he was right all along, that if anyone was to know his past, to discover who he truly was it would irrevocably destroy any relationship they had.

Warning: This is whump. For my regular followers, if you don't want to see this, I might make a side blog for whump. But I had some ideas that I wanted to put out there so y'know.

First off, this is my first time writing these types of prompts, so if they're wonky, my apologies.

Secondly, this is all based off my own Shapeshifter lore that I don't think I've shared here, so if it doesn't make sense I might post my own original Shapeshifter stuff at some point.

Today I'm thinking about Whumpee laughing hysterically, grinning with eyes wide open, smiling maniacally, when confronted with traumatic memories, bc the alternative to a bit of insanity is fully breaking

(bonus points if it features heavy breathing, shaking their head to try to get rid of the pictures in their brain, and constant tensing and relaxing of muscles)

(bonus bonus if they then get to do a violence. As a treat.)

Defiant Whumpee who cries when they're angry, but has a high pain tolerance. Whumper loves to see them cry, so when they first learn they cry out of anger, Whumper takes to riling them up on purpose to get them to cry.

Maybe Whumper makes fun of them for it, maybe Whumpee has been bullied for this exact thing before. Maybe it's even just a massive source of embarrassment!

I just love the thought of a Whumpee crying out of sheer anger and not fear.

Ya know what's more fun than one sickie? Two sickies! Like Vivia and Yuma both get sick at the same time and Yakou is going back and forth taking care of them. I'm sure he's happy when he gets better but man is he tired.

They both got sick from being out in the rain too long, and yuma’s hat went missing somewhere in the city ;-;

Yakou lays them both on the purple sofa covering them with his bed’s duvet to keep warm. Giving them stuff they may need and watching over them. He heads to the kitchen to make them something warm to eat.

Vivia still tries to sit up and read his book despite feeling dizzy, Shinigami be judging him, and Yuma is curled up trying to get himself warm and comfortable, being a little concerned that Vivia doesn’t lay down as well.

The Case of the Rose Tattoo

If you fancy a oozing-with-love-for-the-stories Sherlock Holmes point and click adventure and you don't want to wait a year or more for me to complete the Beekeeper's Picnic, might I suggest 30 year old obscure classic The Rose Tattoo?

I spent this evening playing around in this game and I'm in love, I think it's instantly become my favourite Sherlock Holmes game.

I've always thought that if I was writing a proper Sherlock Holmes mystery game, I would find some way for Holmes to be indisposed so that the player could play Watson acting in his stead, at least for part of the game. I feel like playing as Watson is so much more satisfying - he's able to be fallible, and we can join him in wanting to impress Holmes.

This game comes up with the BEST reason for Holmes to be out of action because it also sets the stakes very high - the Diogenes Club has gone up in flames and Mycroft is on death's door. Holmes immediately locks himself up in his bedroom in terrible grief, and it's up to Watson (and the player!) to pull him out of it by beginning to piece together what has actually happened.

The game uses actual actors in front of green screens for all the characters, which looks a little odd sometimes but it does mean they are expressive and grounded.

The voice acting generally seems good, although sometimes I think the quality of the dialogue surpases it. There is lovely a moment where Holmes laments that freak accidents seem awfully unreal until one happens to someone you know. His distress is palpable in his words, but not quite carried through to his voice.

The dialogue and expository text is aboslutely steller, though, so having voice acting to match is a tall order. It often has a very very dry sense of humour, and nails the 1890s parlance.

Also honestly I think I just love the Mycroft whump and Holmes being all 3 Garridebs about it. It's so personal!

The caveat is that this is a game from the era when you were expected to sit down with a notebook, with no objectives or tutorials or prompts. It also seems to rely on you spotting very tiny details and doing a bit of pixel-hunting. I have a feeling that completing it would take a long time, and a lot of brain-power!

WELCOME TO THIS POST ABOUT THE HURT/COMFORT EXCHANGE. PULL UP A CHAIR.

This, as I just learned earlier this month, is a massive multi-fandom exchange on the theme of hurt/comfort. It's open to both artists and writers, and the expecations is a fic of at least 1000 words, or a piece of artwork that is not on lined paper and is at minimum clean linework that is at least 500x500 pixels. And you have from 16 March to 13 May to work on your gift so like, thousands of time. So easy. You can do that in a weekend, right? So achievable.

Some details: this is a massive multifandom exchange, so like, NSFW is allowed, and that means you have to be 18 to sign up. Also as it's a massive multifandom exchange, the mods are not policing what shows up in the tag set (there are literally 620 fandoms listed, can you imagine policing that, no,) so you almost definitely will see stuff in the tag set that makes you go "huh," but that's when you get to go "boy people sure like some stuff", and then you move on and go on to the stuff you're actually writing.

Tag Set?

Glad you asked. Okay so big Ao3 exchanges normally work off a Tag Set. They run a preliminary section where people can submit relationships and characters etc to a massive list, and then once it comes to actual sign-up time, you are only able to select stuff that is in the tag set for your offers and requests. So nomination period (where we're in right now), is important if you want to join an exchange, cause it lets you make sure that the relationships you actually want to offer, and then write/draw, are available to you.

Okay so, a general exchange works by allowing people to Offer and Request what fandoms and characters they want to write, and then the algorithm matches people's Offers to Requests, so that that person who Requested TMNT art is matched with someone who Offered that yes, they want to draw the turtles.

Within this specific exchange, they go a bit more granular. You both specify the relationship, and because this is a Hurt/Comfort exchange, you specify who exactly is getting hurt.
