is it weird to just answer the ask meme questions without actual asks? probably, but i want to yell about fandom shit rn so you can't stop me

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. its obvious that im in a grimm fixation rn, so i have to say nick/monroe as a romantic ship (or nick/monroe/rosalee), and the whole gang as a platonic relationship. For SGA, i'm always a mcshep fan but i honestly enjoy any pairing of AR1. Anyone that has followed me for an extended period of time knows that im a mcdanno (H50) and leverage ot3 truther as well.

B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind. hmm, not sure? OH some folks doing the sga kinkmeme have mentioned john/cam and im very intrigued

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will. Rodney/Jennifer :( I love Jennifer, but the writers consistently changed her characterization and that relationship felt forced and weird (SGA)

D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t. John/Elizabeth. I'm sorry! maybe its just because im gay af but to me their relationship felt like bffs, not romantic (SGA)

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? I made that stargate cinnamon roll meme, if that counts

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? ~10 years

G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it? i'm a multishipper for sure, but one of the first ships i remember really clearly was eric/ryan from csi miami (circa age like 12)

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)? TV!

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why? I dont know that it was entirely tumblr, but yeah, Voltron. The fandom was truly fucking awful

J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.) uhhhh, like every show tbh. 99% of the shows i watch came from tumblr or online friends

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc? Eliot Spencer (Leverage)

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. hmm, I guess Adalind counts as a character who isnt one of my faves. She's a complex and interesting character, and its clear that a lot of her decisions come from a place of trauma. After having Diana it really shows that she does want to protect her and keep her safe (grimm)

M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend. Ronon (SGA), Hardison (Leverage), Teal'c (SG1), etc

N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom 1. men showing emotions!!! (grimm does this well, thankfully) 2. on a similar note: depicting how the shit these characters get up to is traumatizing and how that impacts them long term 3. literally any canon queer rep. can we PLEASE have a show like stargate or grimm where one of the characters (especially a man) is canonically queer? is that so hard???

O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of? Forfeit by Rise Against always makes me think of ascended Daniel/Jack (SG1). Oh and ever since i saw a gifset with lyrics from it, Timberwolves at New Jersey by Taking Back Sunday makes me think of John (SGA)

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas). one of these fuckin days i am going to write a baseball SGA AU

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why. As previously mentioned: Voltron because the fan base was toxic and awful

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom? all my favorite fandoms are themed around found family so this is so hard lmao. Nick & Hank (Grimm), Eliot & Harry (Leverage Redemption), Harry & Breanna (LR), Don & Charlie if brothers count (Numb3rs), etc

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon anyone who reads my H50 fics knows that i will fuckin die on the hill that Danny has an anxiety disorder

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? besides anxious danny, I'd say John having ADHD (SGA), and Monroe being bi (Grimm) are two right off the top of my head

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites 1. Steve McGarrett (H50) - he's been through so much shit, but he's still so damn loyal and protective and kind. He's such a good dude who is just traumatized beyond belief. 2. Charlie Eppes (Numb3rs) - besides the fact that i am CONVINCED he has ADHD, he's just so fucking loving and passionate about his work and the people he loves. he balances out the hardness of Don and the gang with the sheer size of his heart 3. Eliot Spencer (Leverage) - basically the same reason as steve. I have a type.

V - Which character do you relate to most? this is tough. probably Daniel (SG1) - esp early seasons - because of similar worldviews and interests and personalities, and Danny (H50) because of similar personalities

W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom. MISCOMMUNICATION!! its so frustrating.

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom. im a big ol softie so i love stuff like mutual pining, hurt/comfort, etc.

Y - What are your secondhand fandoms Good Omens is a big one rn lmao. I've read the book but haven't watched the show. Also, Daredevil probably. I watched at least the first season years ago, but haven't seen anything beyond that. I still enjoy seeing people's posts about it and i read fic sometimes

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! im so cranky rn about the lack of depiction of trauma/mental illness/neurodivergence/etc in fandoms where its to be expected. like with Grimm rn, you give Nick PTSD and sensory enhancements but then suddenly forget about them?? that's not how that works! Or why is it always just hinted at that characters are ND? why is it so hard to just be like 'yeah no x has ADHD (or whatever)'? i want to be able to actually have complex/tough/interesting/etc protags that are ALSO neurodiverse. if we're all reading John as having ADHD (SGA) or Parker being autistic (leverage) anyways, why can't these things just be intentionally part of the character

SFW Alphabet: Vincturi

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?) Considering the two live in completely different continents Peter and Aro are very affectionate with each other when they are alone together and spend as much time as they can, getting as much physical contact they can from the other, though Peter tends to act like this isn’t what he’s doing.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?) I can’t really see these two developing any type of relationship outside of a romantic one and if by some miracle they do it would be a strictly platonic business type one.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?) Being an orphan Peter is a bit touch starved and desperate for any type of physical contact and despite the fact that he’ll never ask for them aloud Aro has gotten very good at reading his human so, even without touching him, he can tell whenever Peter wants to cuddle and finds a way to subtly, or not, pull his human into his embrace.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?) Peter is kind of a slob and tends to leave his house a mess, but it’s nothing too major. Aro on the other hand, while not exactly a neat freak, likes to keep things tidy so there will be some times that he cleans up a bit for Peter while he’s asleep.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?) I can’t see these two permanently ending their relationship, I can, however, see them going through spans of time were they separate but always end back up together. During these times though Peter would be determined to get as drunk as he possibly could and continue his alcohol binge until he no longer has any access to it as he attempted to keep himself from breaking down completely. Aro also tends to shut down in a way as well but, his change is more subtle as he spends a lot of time not exactly moping around but he definitely does spend more time staring into space than he normally would until they make up.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?) The thing about Peter is that he wants to be in a serious long-term relationship but because of what happened with his parents he has trouble and, to a degree, is afraid to let anyone in. So it’s a good thing that Aro has a lot of patience when it comes to his human because he also wants the same thing and is better able to visualize the end game.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?) Aro is very gentle with Peter, despite how hostile the hunter can be towards him, because he knows the emotional and mental turmoil he’s going through as he comes to terms with the fact that he’s falling in love with the same type of creature that was responsible for murdering his parents.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?) Hugs are just like cuddling where Peter wants them but Aro has to be the one to initiate them, most of the time.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?) Peter might say if he’s drunk but both him and Aro prefer to take more of a show don’t tell approach with this subject.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?) They can both be jealous little babies sometimes, Peter over the fact that Aro is technically married and even though Aro has assured him multiple times that they are no longer together she still lives in the Volturi's castle with him and Aro gets jealous when someone else appears to be showing interest in his human or, you know, he sees Peter kissing Charlie regardless of its context.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?) Ironically enough, Peter really loves kissing along his partners necks, enjoying leaving behind as many marks as his partner will allow, despite the fact that Aro’s skin doesn’t mark up. While Aro prefers placing kisses on Peters forehead, cheek, and the tip of his nose.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?) Peter isn’t great with kids, especially young ones, but because Aro is basically Jane and Alec's adoptive father he has learned how to interact with children around their age. When it comes to the twins Alec has no problem admitting that Peter is basically his human dad while Jane, even though she really likes Peter, won’t admit it out loud, even though the two seem to have the closest bond. Peter feels the same about them and if it gets to the point he sees them as his children then maybe, just maybe, it’ll be enough to get him to tip over the edge of agreeing to be turned since he knows how hard it is to lose a parent.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?) Peter is nowhere near being a morning person and normally doesn’t wake up until roughly noon each day and even though the sunlight doesn’t have that same effect that it does for other vampires Aro also doesn’t care much for being up and about in the early hours; prefering to either lounge around in bed with Peter or stay planted in whatever item of furniture he’d settled himself into to read in.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?) Peter is a night owl plain and simple, if he could stay up until the sun rose the next morning he would (this habit having partially been created by his fear that the vampire who killed his parents would come back for him) and Aro generally doesn’t have a problem with it, enjoying the extra time with his human, until he tries to stay up past three in the morning. Then Aro forces him to go to bed.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?) Aro is the first one to open up since Peter has spent so many years building walls around himself.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?) Normally Aro doesn’t have much patience to spare for most humans, but he always manages to find more than enough when if comes to Peter because he knows that he’s lost a lot in his life and just needs some time.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?) Peter is actually pretty good at remembering things Aro has told him, like if he’s out and sees a piece of art or something that Aro has mentioned liking he’ll buy it, if he knows there’s room for it in his house, but won’t mention it to the vampire and Aro won’t say a word about it, just savors the joy he feels upon seeing the small things Peter does to make him happy.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?) Peters favorite memory is the first time he had a nightmare around Aro. He’d fully expected the vampire to see his almost panic attack as a sign of weakness and would be disgusted by it and leave, but he didn’t; Aro stuck around to comfort him and help him through it where he’d normally be left dealing with it for the rest of the night and maybe even for the next few days. Aro’s favorite is the first time he saw Peters smile, his truly genuine smile that rarely ever sees the light of day.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?) Both Peter and Aro are very protective of each other and because of that there have been a handful of times where Peter has gotten hurt in his reckless attempts to be the ‘hero’; forcing Aro to have no choice but to call Carlisle for advice on how to treat an injury.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?) Peter tends to put a lot of effort into their dates but he makes sure to make it look like he just threw something together last minute, while Aro wants to do everything he can to make Peter feel like he’s loved after he lived so many years feeling like he wasn’t.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?) Peters is obviously his drinking and swearing and Aro is the passive aggressive approach he takes when he’s upset with his human.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?) While Aro does put a good amount of effort into his appearance and likes to be well groomed. With Peter it depends on where he and Aro are in their relationship, if they’re taking a break he lets himself go a bit, not shaving, not bathing as frequently as normal but doesn’t let it get to the point that he looks and smells gross. When they aren’t on a break he still doesn’t care much about his appearance but he does make sure that he’s clean and well shaven, but he keeps his hair a bit messy, just like Aro likes.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?) Neither one would feel whole if they were to lose the other as the vampire gives Peter the feeling of stability that he’s been missing for most of his life and Aro would have a large empty spot in his life that his human had once filled.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.) Ok, so, I kept forgetting that Aro is married and therefore that Sulpicia existed so when I saw a picture that someone had drawn of Davina giving Aro kisses that’s the only way I can picture her looking now. Because of that I can’t help but picture her as being their number one supporter regardless of the fact that she and Aro are technically married. So, if Peter ever does get turned, either by his own will or, most likely, of someone else's design, she’d be the one helping him acclimate, maybe even mothering him a bit, if Aro happened to be unavailable for any amount of time.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?) Aro wishes Peter wouldn’t drink as much alcohol as he does and Peter wishes Aro didn’t have to feed on human blood in order to survive.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?) Depending on how Aro is feeling he could spend the night doing a couple different things while Peter is sleeping but most nights he’s sitting in bed next to his human reading but there are some nights where he’s up and moving about the house, probably tidying up, or holding Peter as he sleeps.

As of 8/14/20 Charlie is no longer open to romantic ships with female muses specifically, and will ship only with Bunny’s female muses: Irene @gcrefxed and Sarah @killerxquccn , with her characters being detrimental in Charlie's story and to his character. Sarah specifically has always been the love of Charlie's life with the likelihood of anyone (beyond Irene) able to come close slim to none. This in no way means I will not interact with female muses or am being exclusionary from this point; I always want to explore the multitude of subtleties in dynamics between Charlie and muses of every gender - even female muses having feelings for charlie, flirting with him etc - but dynamics with those female leaning will not result in anything romantic. liam’s mother never really did anything when his father was around but she would sometimes come to his aid after the damaged had already been done and give him stuff as if that could solve the whole issue.

his parents got divorced when he was fifteen. his mother moved back to the uk but stayed in brazil with his siblings.

after that he would go back and forth between brazil and the uk to spend time with his parents but he finished high school still in brazil.

his father wanted him to take over the family business and be someone liam most definitely wasn’t. liam still tried and he went to college for a few months but one day he got home drunk and his father started screaming @ him about how terrible of son he was so he was pretty much done. the next morning he packed up his stuff and moved in with a friend until his mother bought him a ticket to fly to the uk

after that he moved to london and he’s been in london ever since.

he pretty much went to college to become a journalist just to spite his father

he drinks way too much but he also smokes weed and he does cocaine sometimes

he legitimately cannot stand being bored or staying still for a while so he’ll figure something to entertain himself at all times even if it is extremely dangerous or downright stupid

he doesn’t have that great of a self-steem. lots of the stuff his father said still resonates with him and even tho liam avoids thinking about it most of the time he still feels bad for not becoming who his father wanted him to be, and not taking over the family business

the army part of his backstory is pretty similar to frank castle’s in the comics ‘born’ which is also kinda like the punisher’s series but better bc i am petty and i don’t like the show

the first thing he did after turning eighteen was enlist himself in the army.

at first it was about doing his duty as an american and about fighting for the freedom of everybody around him

and then he just kept going back again and again bc he had become a soldier and he didn’t know what else he could do besides that

after that it was more about doing the only thing he thought he could do

cut to many years later and he became a coronel in the army

in one of the missions tho lots of shit happened most of friends died, he hadn’t believe in the war he had been fighting for a while but this time he had seen enough

after that matteo went back home to the us but he couldn’t quite land a job for a long time. he knew how to follow orders but he was terrible at dealing with people and his formal education had pretty much stopped at the age of eighteen.

he tried for a while to get a formal job but none of them ever lasted long until one day one guy he knew from the army got him a gig as a guy’s bodyguard, unbeknownst to him he was protecting some very important guy from a gang

it took him a while to realize it, but after that, he continued to do it, bc he needed the money,

after a while matteo didn’t even mind that the money was dirty anymore

the guy started asking him to get some stuff done. sometimes beating up some people, sometimes scaring people. he used to say it was fine bc he was never really doing anything to anyone that didn’t deserve

until one the guy asked him to kill someone, that was pretty much the line for matteo. that day he acted as if he was going to get it done, and he stole some lots of the guy’s money ( at least the portion he had access to in his office ) and matt ran off to the uk to run away from all of that.

he’s been living around london now and he deals drugs every so often

and he isn’t really feeling That Great about who he is right now and he legit regrets most of life choices but he feels like there is nothing he can do at this point

Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, Sam/Rahne, Ariel and Eric (first when I was 5, even though I wanted to be Ariel), Rachel Tobias (first when I was actually gettin into fandom), Jake/Cassie (Animorphs), Clark/Lana, Clark/Lois (I think??) and Chloe/Ollie, Romy (even in Evo at a point!), and now Eliza and Goliath in Gargoyles. TV Shows and Western (superhero) Animation mostly, but also a few animes.

I was annoyed by the Agents Of Shield fandoms behavior for a while, but I’ve never stopped liking any fandoms because of Tumblr.

J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)

SuperWhoLock, Riverdale...some other popular teen shows.

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

Tie between Sailor Moon and Gambit I guess, but I’m sure there are lots of others. Sailor Jupiter has a good arc as well, even though she doesn’t have a lot of character development TBH.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

Roberto Dacosta’s super strength power is pretty cool and he’s a chill guy. And rich. (I just realized that a lot of X-Men characters are rich, actually. Gambit, Xavier, Warren and him. Holy crap.)

Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Moon. TAS Rogue too, because she seems fun to hang with, and who wouldn’t like to be called “Sugah” all the time?

For any fandom? A mad scientist and a famous baker get together after the scientist contacts aliens, resulting in a warring invasion on earth.

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.

To be perfectly honest, The Smurfs because we’re a Christain household and we found it had stuff in it we didn’t agree with. I was three. Other than that, I’ve only given up one other fandom permenantly that wasn’t what I thought it was and chosen at a bad time.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

Kurt and Kitty in Evo, and Logan and Kurt is cool, but I don’t actually pay much attention to it.

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

Hmmm. One that isn’t too boring? Remy isn’t (wasn’t? He is married now) particular about a woman’s height and is comfortable enough with himself to date a woman much taller or shorter than he is. (Remember, Frenzy was freaking 6′7 before she got rebooted to a normal height and it was implied they had history.) For a while it was a wish of mine they’d pair him with a short gal, because all X-women are physically clones of each other, minus Rahne, Kitty and Jubilee. Blargh. Oooh, just had an idea for a new art project to make the girls look individual! ^_^

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?

Besides the above? Uh...headcannon that Remy smells good and his hair is silky to the touch and yes I’m a sick, weird little person, I know. Haha, not really. I’m not much of a headcannon person.

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

* Gambit: Hot, suave, lit, accent, good cook, romantic, my fictional ideal man (told you, I’m sick and weird). * Sailor Jupiter: Sweet, loyal, living on her own at bloody 14 years old, strong physically and emotionally, had trouble believing/finding her feminity like me, tall (not like me!), brunette character, thunder powers. * Tuvok (Star Trek): My second crush ever, calm, reflective, hot grandpa, sarcasm galore, strong, suffers emotionally and physically, POC and like the only black vulcan that I know of, cute little boy chest, that butt (XD), frakin’ hot.

V - Which character do you relate to most?

Surprisingly, one I haven’t talked about yet and that I’m not really fandom-y about. Rapunzel from Tangled. When I saw the movie, I was attached to her immediately. I’d grown up homeschooled and at that point I’d been caregiving for one of my parents for six years at that point, unable to move out and get married and have much of a life, so I was always metaphorically in a tower too. I have childish interests, am artistic and creative, have done LOTS of self-insert art like her, and am a generally happy person (even if I don’t always show it and don’t smile enough). So, out of every character in my many fandoms, I relate to Rapunzel the most. Also, I have only 2 things of Tangled merch-the movie, the soundtrack, and a gorgeous bedspread that’s actually based on the show, but doesn’t look like it. (I don’t like it’s animation/character designs, so it’s been hard to get into it.)

W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.

OMG, do we have to go here? Anything over-sexualized or kinky or just plain gross/weird. (v***, gore, ect.) There’s this one X-Men:Evo artist on DA that would be brilliant, but I can’t stomach their gallery because they feel the need to do a few v*** and bondage pics amongst otherwise G-rated pictures. *throws up* IT’S A SHOW FOR 7-YEAR OLDS!!

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.

Huge guy, Tiny girl! (but it looks...weird...in live action. *Good Luck Charlie flashbacks*.) Also age differences. Some people are put off by Usagi and Mamo’s age difference in Classic, but I think it’s cute and they were really chaste about it. Specifically, I liked the part where he told her to do well in school for some reason.

Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)? Holy crap, Pride and Prejudice and Anne of Green Gables. No one on my dash is into them though, it’s a real life thing. Long story.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

I have written more self-inserts than is probably healthy, but at least I’ve mostly gotten past my teenage phase of thinking anime guys are hot and it’s extended to Gambit as well. I’d much rather see him be portrayed by a living, breathing actor semi-bringing my fantasies to life than as a drawn character. Well, not that I’m not happy seeing him animated and his voice in Evo is still super hot, but that’s another thing. Anyway, on that note, I wish XM:E weren’t a dead fandom and I could get more reviews instead of just faves/follows. I get so frustrated, because I’m not writing my fics for myself, I’m writing them to finish the story and for the fans. I know OCs/SI aren’t everyones bread and butter, but when you work hard on something, you want people to enjoy and appreciate it on it’s own merits. My regulars dropped off the planet and the fandom is just not that active online. (It’s still kind of active though, otherwise the Gambit and other prints on Steven Gordon’s online store wouldn’t have sold out so fast.) I wish it had been as creative as the MLP fandom, but even that wouldn’t have saved it. Thankfully, there are a few people “keeping the faith”, like Coldfusion180 and some others. They haven’t abandoned it and people have made AMVs for it in recent years, long after the shows cancellation. I know we’ve all moved on in one way or another, but it’s still nice to see the love for the show and it’s characters going strong, even if we’re now a niche fandom, tiny, but there. And even if I don’t get another single review up until the last in the series, at least I can say I finished it, if nothing else. Even if your fandom is dead, keep supporting it. If we don’t keep the characters alive, they die and are forgotten. They need us.
