Ok the thing about "Jace is evil because he's fucking Porter" is that in most other fandoms that would be a fandom in-joke to simplify a more complex potential relationship because basically we know about them is they always show up together and Jace seems to be putting up with a lot re: The Rat Grinders

But the thing about Fantasy High is that Brennan said Porter's only evil because it was funny

And Jace is only with Porter all the time because they were like the two established teachers who weren't dead who COULD show up at the cafeteria in episode 3

So on a Meta level, Jace is only evil because Porter is evil, and since things can become canon because they're funny, "Jace is evil because he and Porter are fucking" is plausible in universe because it's basically why he's evil on a meta level

man. maybe the qsmp is funny and goofy and maybe a lot of these events are outlandish and wild but it’s so nice to just see everyone putting so much effort into this. everyone’s gone all out for the trial, they’re wearing suits irl and they made a little courthouse for the trial and they had the eggs as the jury. and maybe the whole trial was completely insane (i’m still not quite sure what happened i’ll be honest) but it was so entertaining because you can see how much heart and soul everyone’s poured into it. it’s so obvious just how much fun everyone’s having and how much they care about the story they’re making and it makes me so excited for the future. i’m so excited to see where the qsmp goes from here, and i know that no matter what direction it goes, it’s gonna be absolutely amazing. proud as hell of quackity for making something so amazing

god i cannot express how impressed in general i am with the storytelling that cr is doing with candela obscura but what really strikes me is how evident it is that the storytelling they do is defined by the hearts of those who are putting it together rather than adhering to a specific idea or image of a given story that they want to uphold. there is such a stark difference between the tones of chapter one and chapter two (to the fault of neither, i’ve enjoyed them both immensely because they both happen to hit parts of the supernatural-horror genre that I am so deeply fond of and so happy to see in a real play medium).

there’s the obvious difference in gming styles, matt has fantasy running through his veins and that’s evident in the way that chapter one ends up having a tone akin to something like the scarier episodes of buffy the vampire slayer. spenser outright references mike flanagan in his pre-interview thing and good grief is that so so evident in his narration and the way he emphasizes the themes emerging in the story in the environment of the world they journey through and choices like the letter from sean’s mother that subvert the audiences ability to rely on a character’s perception.

but the energy the groups of players bring to the storytelling is obviously also so important, too. like, even just looking at the groups prior to watching each I probably could’ve guessed which might’ve had a more lighthearted tone. the combination of ashley, anjali, and robbie already would be one i’d guess a more warm/goofy vibe for (not to say they can’t be serious and dramatic, but the tone of the seriousness is still warm and the world that prompts them towards drama likewise feels warm) and laura, despite her propensity for goofs, does tend to be a chameleon with group make ups. likewise i think we all had a certain (affectionate) fear™ when it was revealed that marisha, brennan, luis, and travis would be reuniting in another short form story and that has certainly held up and been incredibly bolstered by zehra’s absolute commitment and immersion into the story (constantly fucking blown away that this is her first real play she’s incredible).

this is all just to say as someone deeply interested in digital storytelling, i am so so enamoured by cr’s commitment to following their own desires as humans telling stories to one another while adhering to the requirements they have as a company. and also if you haven’t you should watch candela obscura, especially now that spooky season is here.

Thinking about the time I was playing Runescape as a literal 9 year old and happened to meet a more experienced player in all black armor and a red cape who showed me good spots to mine and gave me a couple of good items for a new player. I remember we hung out and talked for a good long bit while they gave me some good pointers about the game. There's something that really touches me about people in multiplayer gaming spaces choosing to be nice to strangers for no other reason than to be kind. There are cathedrals everywhere for those with eyes to see

i want to live in the world where dragon age inquisition got to have the in-depth strategy / political organization sim elements bioware obviously wanted it to have where your decisions in managing the inquisition actually meant anything for how it operates and had effects on the game world. sadly we live in the universe where art needs to make profit

So basically when Brain first laid eyes on him in UX it was love at first sight

his silky silver hair, his amethyst eye(s)... Everything about him was perfect. On that day, in Scala Ad Caelum on the Lantern festival, They finally had their first ever kiss... It was like a dream come true.

In the khdr timeline, when Xeha and Era were younger (toddlers), they still send each other lanterns with their old photos :)

One thing I am not sure that Forever and Cellbit know is that the Spanish speakers are not majorly logging on due to the eggs. I agree the huge lore also plays a part in it but for them it's majorly the eggs. Spreen and Rubius were vocal about their opinions since the start and Rubius still says that he won't log on until the eggs are dead. Now Missa has also expressed his opinions about how the egg arc restricts people and is causing the audience to go harass the creators if they don't want to interact with that side of the server and just want to play regular Minecraft with their friends.

Now I know everyone is planning on giving immunity to eggs in some way or the other. So if they are indeed allowed to remove the 2 life rules on the server and just let the eggs be normal players who the players are allowed to interact on their own whim, and this is proposed in combination with the lore museum - I think that's what would provide people with an incentive to log on without being pressured by the people to produce content that don't have any interest in
