They both are furious and you are well aware of the fact that they don’t appreciate when someone else touch you other than them, they don’t appreciate their gang members also. Hongjoong called his men to clean the mess up and do everything possible to make the people shut up who has witnessed the scene. Now what about you!

No Hongjoong. Please stop asking me like this. With a god damn sinister smile resting on his face and eyes daring your trembling figure to speak more. You can confront seonghwa but not him, you don’t know why but he is always the one who can make anyone speak up the truth or make them agree with him even on a lie.

Well, a tensed atmosphere inside the whole car ride after Seonghwa literally dragged you outside from the club towards the car. His grip was harsh than that man and a thought came across your mind. Would have been better if that man took you with him? Maybe in the midway he would have become unconscious and you would have been freed. Atleast you wont have to be in the situation s you are currently in. You slapped yourself for this and they glanced at you for your weird behaviour. Not a single one spoke a word to you and you were thankful that you didn’t have to stutter anymore.

You are strong and you can fight for yourself but not when these two men are in their angry mode on. You literally fear them but also deep down like their clenched jaws, raging eyes and heavy breaths when pissed off. You smiled to yourself on this thought but quickly regained your composure. On reaching your house, you quickly got down the car and almost run towards the door. Entering the hall, you can see it empty because during the night, no maids and servants are allowed to the private portions of the mansion unless they are called. You took a turn towards the right for the stairs to quickly run towards the room and lock the door and wait for the next day to face them with a clear head.

“Where do you think you are going?”

My room. The only safe place that seems to protect me from both of you. I don’t want to die right now. Dumb you have to smile at them right now to which they raised their eyebrows.

“I need to take a quick shower as I spilled drink on myself previously.”

Saying this, you excused yourself from their intense gaze and as soon as you are behind the closed doors, you released a deep breath which you didn’t know was holding all these times. Slipping out of your mini body hugging dress, you went into the shower. Your slow footsteps towards the door come to a halt when you feel arms wrapped around you from behind and you parted your mouth to shout when a palm pressed to your lips to make you shut. Your eyes went wide in horror.

Damn. What are they doing in your room? Aren’t they supposed to be in their room and busy with their works and all and moreover aren’t they angry with you?

“Why? Were you planning to go somewhere again?” The voice from your front ask you.

Atleast let me wear some clothes before scolding me. The view is becoming clear when seonghwa turns on the neon lights in the room. Now you can see both of them are in their tees and jeans atleast well covered unlike you who is fully exposed just covered with a towel.

You feel warm sloppy kisses all over your shoulders and neck and Hongjoong is smelling you in between and teasingly grazing his teeth over your soft skin. You moan against his hold and then when you noticed some familiar things kept on the bedside table. They are not thinking to do what you are guessing right?

Your view got blocked when seonghwa comes in front of you and holds your face in his hand, looking dangerously yet has a softness in them, just for you. Your toes curls under his touch and your knees feel weak under his gaze and also when the man behind you is kissing all over your exposed skin like a hungry creature. Seonghwa attach his lips to you, you can smell the alcohol as soon his lips pressed to you and your one hand holding Hongjoong’s hand holding the towel over your belly and the other one holding seonghwa’s hand caressing your cheeks. The kiss is more addictive and you are getting drunk more than a drink could make you feel it. Teeth biting down the lips to explore each other more, licking the teeth with tongue, exploring inside the mouth and your mind going in daze.

Retreating himself from you he went to the bed and roll over his tee exposing his abs which are always showcased for you. Hongjoong stops his abuse on your skin and pull you towards the foot of the bed. Your back of the knees hitting the bed and him standing in front of you, hands holding the secured knot of the towel. His other hand moved towards your chest and pushed you backwards. Your back hits the soft matress and then you can see your towel hanging in his raised hands. Alarmingly, your hands come closer to hide your exposed body but that was not to their liking as Seonghwa’s hands pulled your hands apart and you can feel metals clasped to your wrists and attached them to your head board. Handcuffs?

“What are you doing?”

There’s just something about the idea of Bruce, Dick, or even Alfred being willing to do or give Jason anything to come back to the family. Namely Tim.

Just-the thought of them prioritizing Jason so far above Tim that they’ll let Jason just have him, or even enabling and helping Jason or just turning a blind eye, at the expense of Tim that I just can’t get enough of.

Like I’ve read a fic where someone silently watched Jason fuck Tim who was stuck in a wall and all they did was silence Tim’s emergency beacon. And a fic where the price that Jason asked for to come back was Tim’s first heat.

(If anyone has any more recs beyond those or props I am begging you please)

And Tim just being an afterthought while Jason’s base desires are catered to. Tim being valued as much as a toy. His body being an incentive. And everyone else not only silently allowing it, but even encouraging it.

tim being collateral damage so the family can have back jason is such a good angst genre!!!! because!!!! part of tim, no matter how small, believes that if he had just been asked, he likely would have said yes. he would've agreed to be jason's toy, his plaything, punching bag, his fleshlight or what ever it was jason wanted so that he came back. because tim loves the family, at some point he started caring about the people and not just the masks and some little part of him is just all too willing to throw his wants and dreams away if it meant they were happy and so even if he didn't want to he would've done it. but the real angst part is that they don't ask, they don't think of tim at all as they barter away his heat to jason, or give jason a key to tim's room to go into every night and have his way with him, or turning a blind eye to jason hurting tim while they're on the training mats. because it's easier- it's easier to just not think of tim as a person because then that way they can have jason back. i especially love the idea that, in its own twisted way, its jason who treats tim the best out of all of them. because even if he's the aggressor, he's still also the only person paying mind to tim, being careful with him because he doesn't want to damage his favorite toy beyond repair.

No please talk about how people are weird about Manacled because I see this too and yet nobody seems aware of this?

--I see multiple big name book bloggers refer to this as one of their favorite "books" when it is literally, in no way, legally or in the simple conventional definition of a book, a book. Like, I am literally this close to unfollowing someone whose recs I sometimes like because they also proudly own a professional bind-up of this book.

--Speaking of bind-ups (and when I say "professional"... book binders should not be binding fics; they are potentially opening themselves up for legal trouble, and I know that when someone offers to pay you hundreds of dollars for a bind-up of a fic it's gotta be tempting, but for the love of God do NOT do it and also don't request one, because you are also opening yourself up for some quagmires, and you do not want to get into it with JKR or her publishers or for that matter Margaret Atwood/Hulu/whoever currently has control of The Handmaid's Tale because this is in fact a fic of two different things) I personally find it incredibly wasteful to bind a fic, but that's just my personal snobbery. I cannot IMAGINE paying that much money for a bind of something I can read for free on my phone.

Like... I have respect for book-binding, it's a beautiful art form. I've seen beautiful binds of that fic. But beyond all of the risks I mentioned above, it's just honestly such a goober thing to do in my mind lol. You can spend your money how you want. I totally get why people re-bind their old copies (or new copies) of paperbacks they own and love... for themselves. And do not sell them. (Honestly, don't really know how that would work for the fic--binding it yourself and not selling it could be okay?) If I could do it, I would.

But for the love of God. I am begging people to get real with themselves about what fic is and what fic isn't.

--I really don't get how this is going to work as a reworked fic, tbh. One of the reasons why I do respect the process of converting a fic to a book in many cases, and consider that a valid form of getting a book... is that for all intents and purposes? The vast majority of these fics were essentially people writing original works and slapping vague physical features and names onto their characters. The Love Hypothesis has absolutely nothing to do with Reylo in terms of world or character development. As much as I loathed Wallbanger as a book--that is not Edward and Bella. To me, it sometimes feels like these AU fic writers wake up and go "oh, I wrote a book?"

And there is still work that goes into reworking. I read the fic that was the original form of You, Again by Kate Goldbeck. Honestly? You can see the rewrite in a big way. She did the work.

Manacled basically took a huge chunk of its world DIRECTLY from The Handmaid's Tale. And that's fine! For a fic. The fic is not an "all normal humans" AU. It's not a historical AU. It's not even a high fantasy AU. These people are witches and wizards and Voldemort won and there is a Handmaid's Tale angle. I do not know how she's going to take that into a completely different place without essentially just writing a new book lmao.

Which is the one issue I do have with fic to books, and there's no way of getting around it, and it's not immoral, it's just irritating that we dance around it in these conversations, and it is especially irritating when you get the "dur dur fic is better than original books". A hit fic does not require the same amount of effort that a hit original book does. When you read the fic you think is better than book... 9 times out of 10, you are reading it because you are a part of that fandom. You are receptive, preemptively, to that world. In fact, I would argue that you are probably more inclined to like it, subconsciously, because you are sliding into something that is familiar, or is coded to be familiar even when it's an AU.

This isn't to say that there isn't art to writing a great fic. It's not to say that there isn't a true accomplishment to writing a fic that really sticks with your audience. But the reality is that you did have a pre-set audience, "bought" by the original work that created your fandom, and that is something a truly original book does not have. When a truly original book (or, I'll give, a book based off a more obscure fic that doesn't tout itself as fic to book--and a lot of people did not do that as much back in the day, because of stigma surrounding it) hits big... That's because it did the original seduction of the audience. The author did the promo. The premise got people to open it. The book was good enough, or at least had enough "it factor", for word of mouth to kick in. I will ALWAYS give that credit to popular original books, because it is not easy to make an original work hit, and while it may not be easy for fics to hit, it is easier. And that built-in audience does travel to known fic to books.

So, because Manacled is so dependent on that HP/Handmaid's Tale world, the author is going to have to really go in on tearing it apart, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's pretty unrecognizable. It should be. And the only reason why the Manacled label will remain is that built-in audience. Which is technically fine, and I guess I should hate the game versus the player here. But it gives me the ick, I guess.

There are gray areas, I guess. I liked The Hurricane Wars, and that does owe more to SW than The Love Hypothesis or You, Again. However, I do appreciate a lot that Thea did make clear changes, and did curb the world around culture influence Southeast Asian influences. That last part especially is a big distinguisher even though a lot of the fans don't seem to acknowledge it at all but whatever.

I just don't get it, tbh.

Stiles closed the door of his jeep shut, eyes meeting yours as you clambered out the passenger side."Okay here's the plan- we walk in, head to my dad's office, find the files, take photos and then get the hell outta there. I told him I was at Scott's studying and he said he was finishing with an arrest across town so we should be fine." He said and you nodded, grinning, "Simple and effective, just how I like it." Stiles winked and you both walked towards the station doors, eyes flickering around in nervousness. Stiles sauntered up to the reception, resting his forearms on the desk as he put on his charming smile. "Hiya, I left some homework in Dad's office yesterday can I just go in and grab it?" The women sitting there looked behind Stiles, raising her eyebrows at me before returning her steady gaze back on the freckled boy. I tried to give her my most innocent and angelic smile whilst Stiles replied. "Oh..uh y/n and I are studying together today." She narrowed her eyes at him, "Be quick Stiles." He grinned at her and slapped the desk, "Thanks!" before grabbing your hand and tugging you in the direction of the Sheriff's office. Stiles let go of your hand when you entered the room, instantly searching amongst the piles of paperwork on his Dad's desk for the correct files about the recent murders. You busied yourself with searching through the papers in the cabinet, heart pounding against your ribcage as you scanned each manila file. "Ah!" Stiles exclaimed and you walked over, watching as he pulled out his phone to take photos of the documents he uncovered. A loud pair of footsteps sounded down the hall, heading in your direction and you both looked up at each other simultaneously, eyes wide with fear. "Stiles quick put them back!" You whispered, helping him to shove the pages back into somewhat of a pile. "The supply cupboard come on y/n!" He whisper-yelled at you, pushing you towards the tiny cupboard in the small room joined to his father's office. Stiles tugged the cupboard door shut, peeking down at you in the darkened light. "Do you think he saw us?" He asked, soft breath fanning over your face as you faced him, chests pressing up against each other. "No but he'll hear us if you don't shut up." You stated, pressing forward into Stiles a bit more as a large metal basket dug into your back. At that moment, you watched through the grate at the top of the door as one of the officers placed some paperwork onto the Sheriff's desk. You both held your breaths, watching in anticipation as the officer glanced at his watch before walking back out again, letting you exhale in relief. "Stiles dude stop poking me." You whispered, nudging the flannel-clad boy in annoyance. Stiles furrowed his dark eyebrows, confusion clouding his face, "what? i'm not doing anything." Both your gazes dropped at the same time, before flicking back up to each other. Stiles shifted his feet in embrassment, his face visibly burning red even in the dark lighting of the cupboard. He scratched the back of his neck, trying to formulate some words in his brain, when you giggle, clasping a hand over your mouth to muffle the laughter. Stiles shoots you a look, "I can't help it y/n stop laughing!" You grin up at him, "Really Stiles, I'm flattered, honestly. But as much as your dick is enjoying this situation, I however am not. So let's get the hell out of here before..." At that second, the cupboard door was wrenched open, revealing a fuming Sheriff, hands on his hips. "Oh..hi Dad." Stiles says, giving the man a salute. "What the hell do you two think you are doing in here?" The older man asks, hard gaze flicking between his son and cringing companion. "Just getting some uh...paperclips." You state, reaching behind Stiles to grab a pot of metal paperclips by his shoulders. Stiles grins at his Dad, nodding, "for the uh english project we got set today." The pair of you walk out the cupboard, Stiles holding a pack of paper in front of his crotch, tapping his feet on the carpet acting totally inconspicuous. The Sheriff glances down at his son before his eyes flick to the ceiling, seemingly asking for help. "I don't even want to know." He states before turning his gaze on you. "Y/N, considering that I still somehow think you're the more normal one in whatever this is." He gestures roughly in your's and Stiles' area. "Could you please take my son home before I strangle the pair of you." You grin cheekily up at Noah, "Sure thing Sheriff." You walk back into his office, tugging Stiles who was stood close behind you, pack of paper still held in place. "Leave the paperclips on my desk y/n." Stiles' Dad announces, and you sheepishly place them on the wooden surface. "Stiles. That means the paper too." The freckled teen glances at you before clearing his throat and awkardly placing the paper next to the pot of clips, not turning around to meet his father's eyes. You place yourself in front of Stiles slightly, pushing him behind you as you both slowly head out the room. "Absolutely lovely to see you again Sheriff, great pleasure, really was." You ramble, before the pair of you speed walk back down the corridor and out the station, faces similarly wincing in embarassment. Once you are back in Stiles' jeep and he is pulling out the parking lot, you burst into laughter, reflecting back on the situation that just occured. "Hey, totally not funny y/n. I think I just mentally scarred my father for life." Stiles' says, his own lips twitching up into a smile despite his words.

This was made in honor of an enthusiastic friend who had a few bad experiences commenting in our fandom and receiving less than kind replies. Instead of just fuming about it, I decided to do something about it.
