Heeeeyyyyy p. I am an awkward soul with an awkward question, but how does ao3 work? I noticed a lot of writers are speaking of migrating there and doing things that I don’t quite understand LMAO. I tried looking into the website but honestly, it seems so daunting and I am a terrified chicken who would rather recede into the pits of hell than do something “wrong” on that website.

I dunno if you are the right person to request of this, but you are always so kind when answering questions so i figured who else is better than to scream into the void at?

hi anon! don't feel bad for reaching out, one of my favourite things in the world is showing people how to do things (you know that chill coworker who goes "okay, so i do it like this..." when they show you things? that's who i want to be in the world). if my handy guide doesn't make sense to you, please please please feel free to come back and ask clarifying questions and i'll wrack my brain on how best to help you!

i'd be remiss if i didn't point you in the direction of AO3's guide on how to search and browse the archive first of all. it's a bit wordy so if that isn't to your liking i've made a little video below the cut on how to use ao3 on a laptop below the cut:

so that's a pretty bare bones way of using ao3 as non-member!

step 1: search for the fandom you want to explore.

step 2: use the drop down menu to tailor your fanwork selection to something you might want to read by using the filters on the right hand side.

tags are the ingredient list of what you can expect to find in a fic, you can also search by using the tags if there's something in particular you've taken a fancy to (or you can use the "exclude" button to avoid seeing it - just like i excluded konig from my selections).

the rating system is used to filter out mature content, if you click on something rated M, E or Not Rated you should get a little warning at the top advising you that the work you're about to view may include adult content and you agree that you wish to see that content.

step 3: check the tags and summary to see what piques your interest (in my case i chose @boolger 's "a love letter to gaz" because i thought it was fitting).

step 4: click on your desired fic or fanwork and enjoy!

step 5: leave a kudos AND a comment (it doesn't have to be lengthy, it can be a little note to say "i loved this! thank you for writing it!) when you're done.

i recommend asking for an invite to join ao3 so you can see all the lovely archive locked fanworks (fanworks that are hidden from non-members) like mine! it doesn't take long to get an invitation and you can still browse the archive as a non-member in the meantime.

hello!! i admit i really want to read more fic but i've also been trying to cut down on my screen time recently (which has been...so hard) so i haven't been reading as much as i've really wanted to because i know there have been so many new and beautiful fics published i want to read!!

the other night though, i read the first chapter of 'into the fire' by boguspreston & innominatta and i was just blown away! very eagerly waiting for more but also incredibly satisfied with the set up and chapter that's been provided already. i just adore fics where you read it and you instantly know that the author's real life job or passion or niche hobby is being put on display in the fic and that's the case in 'into the fire'. the level of detailed descriptions and attention to the setting of the kitchen and the descriptions of the food is just so good and amazing. more people need to write fics where they use their real world job as a setting for the characters because it adds this level of immersion to a fic that i am in love with. i feel like im watching the bear but somehow closer to understanding the stress of the kitchen than just by watching the bear. i feel like im the sous chef next to obi-wan who absolutely does not want chef skywalker to look at me next.

the author's note says that one of the writers is a pastry chef (and we're on the same discord so i knew that already!) but i would have known that just by reading the fic because of all this detail that has to be known already and not researched for the intention of the fic.

i also just adore a lot of the writing style these two have developed in past fics they write together and im a sucker for an age swap. and for a smoking hot, smoking cigarettes, mean anakin skywalker <3

Yes actually, as kids me and a friend co-wrote a tortall 'verse crackfic.

Ooof. Maybe spuffy? That met me at a very formative time of my life, and I didn't expect it to become so canon (as opposed to like under a spell etc) and I think that experience really reshaped my brain 🤯🤯🤯 but fundamentally faves questions are immoral thus this is a very rude question.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I hope I'll finish all of them, and do intend to! I'm not sure I'll ever write the hilarious abortion fic tho.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Mm, a love of language/interesting prose. A love of brevity/somewhat chiselled sentences. A love of editing/willingness to improve. Interesting stories. Dialogue, tho brio get little bc theyre annoying. Characterisation!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Well I violently dislike plot. I don't feel super strong on creating original characters. I'm slow! I'd rather let things be confusing than beat readers over the head with info, which I think can be detrimental. I wouldnt say my descriptions are super strong, though I think they've improved a lil. Sometimes there's too much internal monologue at a go which breaks up the pacing of an eg dialogue scene (though again think that's improved somewhat). My love of planning and love of pantsing are at constant war lol, I get grumpiest abt stuff not having been established earlier and thus needing to state things which couldve been well demonstrated. Blocking, sometimes. I love short stories and oneshots but I'm apparently prone to writing long fics & continuing things into series which I consider a real weakness, lol.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I'm not against it in principle, I've read a lot of books which contain a lot of eg French or Spanish (often untranslated). We've got access to Google translate or w/e right? I do appreciate it when translations are provided bc lazy (and I think Ao3 does poss let you do hyperlinked superscript?). I feel the same way abt it in fic as in other media I think -- if you're happy for it to be a bonus to those that understand and everyone else needs to work to figure it out, I concur. If you think it needs to be understood, then providing translations (even if just as notes @ the end) makes sense.

But I also think pls don't write it via Google translate... If u don't speak the language/don't have someone who can help u translate it, don't write dodgy shite Spanish or w/e 🙈 not everything needs to be literal dialogue u can just say 'he explained to his grandmother abt the change in plans' or w/e I swear

...o wait I'm guessing the q meant me as a writer not reader 🤦 I don't think I've done much of it? Altho I do always seem to imply that every character speaks French, a language I don't really speak so who the hell knows 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Hello! About your last post, you said you were reading some fanfics, so I wanted to ask: What are your favorite fanfics from the fandom??? Especially the green pls, because I'm obsessed and nothing can help me 😃 (Looking forward to the mafia story)

This is probably not an exhaustive list. If you can't tell I'm a very forgetful person and I'm probably forgetting some good ones. I'll include whether or not the fic is incomplete (NC) and if it contains sexual content (M). I'll also try to find links for all the fics I list. I will say to anyone who uses these recs leave comments and kudos but don't be that person who harasses for an update. Definitely show the author some love though!

More Than Human NC. A definite must-read for anyone getting into the fandom. It was the fic that sucked me in! A great High School fic. Anything from Sbj at all is a win. Make sure to check her out on Dreamwith and FanFiction.net. Some of her stuff is crossposted but not all of it is

Green Lights NC/M. My current obsession. Buttercup moonlights as an exotic dancer and meets a mysterious man (Butch) who captures her attention.

Lie in Lime NC/M. Butch is a fashion designer and Buttercup gets roped into being his model. Features a slight love triangle with Brick. Great fic!

Any of the fics in this series on Ao3. This author is just amazing and most of her works are complete and also pretty long. A win-win if you ask me! Don't shy away from the NC ones though. Lilys of Snow Valley is amazing!

The Good, The Bad, and the Rowdy NC. An old west au.

The Greens Way of Life NC/M. A wonderful collection of One-shots and short stories surrounding the greens

The Number 3 NC. A great High School fic with some mysteries going on in the background.

Lycan NC. SO GOOD! A 19th-century supernatural au that is so well written. I can't recommend it anymore!

Killer's Playground. Mafia au. One chapter for each of the color code parings. Kinda violent

93,000 miles. I don't want to say much and give it away but it's super touching.

In general, just check out Miss.RoseGold. She has amazing greens content (the last few recs were from here) and I'd be here all day if I try to list them all. She's on FanFic.net and Ao3 but I'm not 100% sure if all her works are crossposted.

Green Maiden NC. An interesting dragon au. I don't think this one will ever get completed but it's still worth reading what's written imo

XXY NC a great high school, combined team fic.

Watching Her Move M. Short and smutty from Butch's perspective

Favours Fortune NC/M. A different take on the mafia au.

Our Italian Resturant. A great secret baby au fic. IDK if that made sense but you should definitely read it though

i thank the oceans (for giving me you). The fluffy family feels. I revisit this fic A LOT

Leaving. Just super cute and fluffy (maybe with a tad pinch of sadness)

Re-Life. Has some time travel shenanigans and is so worth the read.

I think that's a pretty good starting point. Again, it's not an exhaustive list of all the fics I have enjoyed in the fandom. A great piece of advice is if you find an author you like, check their account for their other works as well as their bookmarks or favorite stories. You'll find a lot of good fics that way. And don't limit yourself to one site. With a fandom as old as ppg you can find some amazing gems on "older" sites like FanFiction (it grosses me out to consider that site old). net and even here on Tumblr. i don’t have any i’m a happily ever after or bust kinda guy in my own head if nowhere else…… angstiest is probably the sound of love astounds me if only because it ends post-feelings realisation but still pre-relationship

they’re all so happy omg. i will say with great personal bias it’s my heart’s over-pumping but also i have. a sequel in the works….

no people have been very very very lovely but also sjjsjsjs i’ve not been here super long. the funniest comment i’ve gotten was on my first fic where someone was like i liked this but it is jarringly inaccurate as mcdonald’s in california doesn’t have a veggie burger option 😭 i cried laughing im so sorry to u americans. pls petition your local mcdonald’s to stock the mcplant it slaps

have written two e-rated fics….. it’s very fun but i don’t think i’m very good so i’d like to practice actually (maybe some sexy prompts after i finish the bed-sharing ones?) just the regular kind for now like i love buck and eddie desperately and am myself into a million things but i don’t know how kinky they would actually get in my own head. so just a little gross with it for now i guess

listen i have not written a word for x files au past that one snip i shared forever ago. i want to soooo bad i’ve talked about it to some of you very rabidly but. it does not want to be written and if it did it would have to be so fucking long which is very daunting to me. not saying i’ve put her in the ground yet but. we might need some necromancing

i think i’m pretty good at writing in character? mostly? sometimes i struggle with buck just because i think we’re very similar and i project a little and then have to go back and fix it lmao but for the most part i think i’m good at that! and i have a lot of fun writing dialogue

I hope readers realize that kind comments, even just short and simple ones saying they liked what they read, are like magic inspiration dust to a lot of fanfic writers and can really make a big, positive impact on our days. For example, I got my first comment on Ao3 since I started posting again today after a really shitty shift at work, and it fr made me smile so hard and immediately start writing for the day because I was so excited that someone actually liked the thing I wrote! And took the time to let me know!!!! I honestly forgot about how much of an asshole my boss was today because I was so excited. I've heard this same story from other writers dozens of times. That's the type of difference a comment can, and often does, make.

I as a writer am not entitled to anyones likes or kudos or comments or views. If nobody liked or commented on my stuff I'd still post. For the most part I share what I write because I love the sense of community it brings with other writers/reader/online people, and tbh it would make me feel kinda pathetic if I wrote reader insert fanfiction only for myself. That being said, there's nothing better in the world than hearing I am good enough, and appreciated, and seen.

So, readers, leave a comment on a fic you loved today! Let the author know their writing is seen and appreciated. Take a minute to make them smile (or cry) the same way you did when you read their work! You genuinely don't know how much it can mean. And it's free!

(Important side note, but even if it can be motivating pls don't think a comment means you're entitled to more of the authors work. People should comment because they enjoyed something and not because they think their comment will make the author write more faster, though it might surprise you the difference a comment can make in a writers motivation. It's the difference between being told "that thing you spent endless hours on was amazing" and being told "that was amazing BUT you need to make more of what you made right now because nobody is satisfied with what you poured your heart into already", if that makes sense. I don't mind comments asking for more, personally, but I know a lot of authors that do, so I thought it was worth mentioning)

To all my authors, especially those who don't feel seen, I see you and I love you <3 keep on keeping on, even if your WIP takes 3 months to post and you feel like nobody liked it. I promise at least one person did. You're loved and appreciated and provide a vital service to internet dwellers such as myself. People in the world would be a little emptier without the warmth from the worlds you create.

Just five! I haven’t actually published very many (obviously) but maybe I will in the future :-)

40,450 apparently!!

3. Which fandoms do you write for?

These days, just F1 RPF. I used to write for other fandoms (the other published fics on my AO3 are for The Arcana, if any of y’all know that lol)

Given that I literally have five published…

YES! I don’t get very many, and appreciate each and every one! It makes me feel validated ngl 😅 i love engaging with other people who have things to say about something I create. Like, that’s so cool right?!

Honestly, none of them. I’m a sucker for a happy ending, so I will be tying up all loose ends to finish my fics. Maybe I’ll say Enchanted (Lando’s Version) purely because it doesn’t really have an ending - just a “perhaps”.

7. Which of your fics has the happiest ending?

I guess fallingforyou. I think it ends on a fairly hopeful note.

8. Do you get hate on your fics?

Not so far! I don’t think I have enough of an audience to generate hate comments, so I’m grateful for that lol

9. Do you write smut?

I do! Not necessarily very well, mind. It’s not often very dirty, more romantic smut. Is that a thing? It is now.

Nope. That’s some big brained behaviour and simply is not for me. I can’t keep up with one fandom, let alone multiple lmao much respect to those of y’all who manage it!!

Besties i don’t even write well in English 💀 I feel like a lot of the time, it serves no great purpose. Especially if it’s randomly inserted google translate phrases that nobody speaking that language would ever actually use.

One that I published anonymously of the Dead Dove: Do Not Eat variety. I love it so much - it’s genuinely the only fic of mine that I read back and actually enjoy. I usually just publish my work and leave it there.

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language? if it's a language i don't speak myself, i will 100% get someone who does to check it over/write it for me. i've had beautiful experiences with collaborating on writing dialogue in spanish, for example! languages are my passion and i'd hate to disrespect a language by not giving it due diligence.

19. first fandom you wrote in? i wrote a harry potter fic in a notebook when i was like 11, but the first one i posted was triple frontier.

as of right now i only plan to write for peaky fandom (shipping tommy with, like, every man in the show ever), but who knows!

oh if you comment on my fic not only will i respond but i also will be planning our spring AND fall wedding, as well as preparing our brand new house and farm by the countryside

no fic of mine will have angst ending bcs i take things too seriously sometimes so angst ending will absolutely traumatize me <3 no angst ending in this household !! (and also bcs like i write fics abt my comfort characters so i want them to always be happy and jolly)

not like a whole crossover but i definitely plan on getting other characters from outside the peaky fandom (who were working in the same movie as tom hardy and/or cillian murphy) into my tofie fics... for example MAYBE i'd get someone blonde, British, great with cameras, loves physics, and whose name probably rhymes with gistopher molan to be one of tommy's exes... or i'd get someone brunette, slender, very into the concept of lucid dreaming, whose name rhymes with barthur to be alfie's love interest before tommy... who knows right... 😶

this is a community, not a popularity contest, and numbers don't matter. at the same time, liking a post won't do anything, so if you enjoyed something, no matter what it is, consider reblogging it — especially fandom content. that's the only way to keep fandom going and to truly support the creator by spreading their labour.

29. If you could send a message to the misguided fanfiction readers or writers of today, what would it be?

KUDOS. kudos. kudos. and also, please leave comments, no matter how short. it makes a hell of a difference! oh, and it's simple — if you don't like something, don't read it. click away. make use of the filtering system next time so it doesn't happen again. don't tell the author how they mistreated your character, used a trope you didn't like, or wrote a ship that doesn't make sense to you. just... click that x, and notice how much better your life is without anger in it.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ooooooo….I wanna say either ‘Vessel’ or ‘Forgotten Visage’. Both have pretty harsh endings that only insulate that it leads to more pain later. ‘Vessel’ is just straight up a Soulsbourne boss style fight with all the tragedy of a Soulsbourne boss fight tied in, and ‘Forgotten Visage’ is just sad AU of what evil Balder was doing right after Rosa died…so yay, they don’t go anywhere sad. BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE….I’m gonna throw it at Vessel lol

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Idk if I’m gonna get some hate from certain oomfs from this, but I’m gonna say ‘Down By The Red Poppies’ has one of the happiest BECAUSE of everything that had happened to all the characters throughout the fic (And even the first fic!) and making it in the end. There was def a lot of hurt and pain and angst throughout Lobelia and Poppies, but I think the ending the fic made it all the worthwhile and despite the pain/tragedy, it’s gonna be okay 🥲

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No, not really. Not that I’ve ever seen!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have written smut ONCE!...It was the last half of one chapter out of a 117,000 word fic…HAVE I ATTEMPTED TO WRITE MORE SMUT SINCE, YES AND I AM NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO FINISH IT YET!! The smut in Red Poppies was my first ever smut and it was, like, tender and sweet?? But the Balrosa smut that I have a low simmer is def meant to embarrass that fucking twink lol

I haven’t, and don’t plan to!! Not my thing, to read or write.

Ohhhhhh hohohho hahaahah AHAHAHAHAAHAHAA!!! There’s so many lmao I have so many that are stuffed in folders and forgotten about. There’s a few multi-chapter ideas I wanted to try and do, but with Witch of Causality going on rn (and going on for awhile now) I doubt I’ll ever start them for long long time… (Chinese BayoJeanne AU fic based off of Causality, etc).

But if there is a KING of unfinished WIPS…it’s my now long forgotten Godzilla Final Wars fics from years prior. Sucks because I got to fic 3 out of the trilogy, but I’m just not in it anymore…wish I had the willpower to finish it, but alas, never will.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Lots of my oomfs say all my fight scenes actually ‘feel’ like what Bayonetta fights, so I wanna say I write fight scenes pretty well!! I would say characterization, but I’m only comfortable with a few, not all…

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

looks at long list of comments and notes from my beta reader for the the insane amount of grammatical errors, structure errors, and sentences that just make no sense uhhh….so yeah, I kinda fuck up the actual writing aspect a lot asdjkasdsda

But seriously, I think sometimes (at least for recent, larger fics), I’ve had to pull back on the amount of filler that’s not necessary or structure of a chapter to make it actually make sense…(THANK YOU KELS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT, YOU KEEP SAVING MY ASS!!)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think if you’re not super well-versed in the language, definitely consult or check with someone who knows!! Or do a bit of digging, especially if you plan on using quite a bit of it!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

GODZILLA!!! Funny enough, I have literally only ever written fics for the Godzilla fandom and Bayonetta fandom. I have read quite a bit for other fandoms, but Godzilla is my dear yee ol faithful!! (Funny enough, it’s specifically only for Godzilla Final Wars as well lol)

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

This one is actually hard…hmmm…It would have to be a tie between Lobelia/Red Poppies. I kinda put them in the same box, even tho they are 2 different fics. Honestly, it was just so fun coming in blind to a new fandom and just slapping together whatever I wanted to do because I really wanted to tell the story and had fun with it. I don’t even think it’s my best stuff, but damn nothing beats crashing into the Bayo fic community with a fic that just (spoilers) kills little Cereza in her own story and I have no regrets ASKJDSADHASDHA

3) What fandoms do you write for?

Red vs Blue, Spider-Man, World of Warcraft and SPYXFAMILY are what are listed on my ao3 profile. I've done my most amount of work in the RvB fandom, but i've also written a LOT for The Hunger Games, Torchwood, and (sadly) Harry Potter and Twilight. Just... not on ao3.

4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Next Time Around which is an RvB rewrite w/ Tex surviving outside of the Epsilon memory unit, instead of being erased by Church at the end of s9 (which i still need to rewrite and finish waaah) Closure which.. I genuinely don't remember writing. Scars which I wrote on behalf of someone who wanted more non-sibling Carwash fics a cup of coffee in the morning which I wrote after a desire to see more of Wash's tastes/interests changing after the implementation of the Epsilon AI it's all in your head aka, a cute lil thing I did for fifteen minute ficlets that I need to get back into for SPYXFAMILY and twiyor.

5) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes and no. It depends! I am an awkward person so if I know how to reply, I usually will especially if it's something i can answer! However, if it's something where i can't really think of a good response I might just leave it, or come back to it later.

6) What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uh... i tend to not write angsty endings. I like happy endings, I like knowing that despite everything, happiness can still be found. Like I LOVE angst, but I also like rewarding myself with some happy endings.

but one time I wrote about Cinna's death from THG so.... does that count?

7) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I've never finished it, but my intended ending for Next Time Around was to have Tex going to Allison's grave on Earth with Carolina and Wash and laying down Forget-Me-Nots, before going back to live out the rest of her time with the Reds and Blues.

8) Do you get hate on fics?

Never directly, but I also don't really remember a lot of 2015-2018 because of cringe :'). I do think a lot of Peter/gwen fics got indirect hate from peter/mj fans which sucks because Peter has TWO hands!

9) Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I have orphaned most of my smut fics, but yes. I have done some basic ass vanilla guy eats out a girl stuff, but my favorite is the kinky sapphic smut. If you ever stumble upon a Tex/Emily Grey smut fic by an orphaned account, that was me :)

10) Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No, they're just not for me.

11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

No but last time I checked in 2021 someone had stolen my fucking background/about section from Tex RP blog and that was a COMMON problem I had in the RvB RP fandom on here. So. much. fucking. theft. of. my. god. damn. about. page.

And I put hours of work into it. Hours. It was detailed, and people just keep fucking stealing it somehow.

errrr...... Trying to rack my brain but coming up with a blank. i've written fics as favors/gifts for people though! Usually a "I have this idea and no idea how to write it help me pls Ange" thing

Church/Tex. Something about the inherent doomed by the narrative of it all, how no matter how hard Church tries to pull her close she always drifts away from him, the levels of love and trust they have towards one another.... Like they are DOOMED lovers but also they kinda both know that and that's what makes it so difficult.

15) What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I really really wanna go back and re-do and finish Next Time Around, and after playing NieR Automata that desire is even more present. but also, one piece is my current hyperfixation so I have no idea if I ever will.

16) What are your writing strengths?

oh. oh god. oh. um. hm.

Probably my short, punchy sentences. Where not a whole lot is being said, but the impact is still really strong and the emotions of what I'm trying to impart are impactful.

Also, my inner character monologues. I love that shit. Lemme open up their mind and tell you their entire secrets

Combat and physical descriptions B)

Combat is just... Idk. So much going on and it's so hard and you have to be really good about the descriptions and the motions and movements or else it's all a mess. And physical descriptions just... I'm a byproduct of the cringe era so I always worry about how my descriptions will sounds T-T

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I have never attempted to create my own fictional language, and I probably never will. It just isn't for me. I am planning on trying to pick Japanese back up, as when I was a wee child I knew it fairly well, but lost it as the years went on.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

2 currently, but I plan on putting up my TAZNC work at which point I will have 15!

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

4,680 right now, but that number will increase by a lot shortly since I think all my TAZNC works were between 1,000-4,000 words.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

TAZ, and I've got a few Owl House things in the works I hope to finish some day.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes! I love receiving comments and I love being able to talk a bit about what I was thinking when I wrote things.

I don't usually write a lot of angst, but probably this unnamed ficlet because nothing really gets resolved at the end, although it is a fairly hopeful ending.

It's hard to pick, I write mostly things that leave a lot of possibilities open, but I'd say probably my 10th entry for TAZNC this year (man I really gotta name these things) because I think the emotional journey makes the ending more satisfying.

Nope! I've only gotten very kind words and I'm extremely grateful for all of them.

I did once on a previous account, unfortunately I was very bad at finishing anything at that point in my life and I hadn't gotten on ADD meds, so we didn't finish it (my fault). I'd like to co-write something at some point, but I think I'd need to have more practice with writing/finishing longer stories before I felt confident about doing it again.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

Taakitz babey! Top tier meet-weird plus some truly beautiful moments, and such a great dynamic to play around with

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I'm not sure I'd say "never," but there is one Taakitz fake dating fic that I would need to seriously rework in order to make it coherent. I hope to finish some version of it someday, but it certainly won't look like the current WIP.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Boy I wish I knew! Someone told me I have a "lyrical" writing style, so I'll take it! I do really like working with the flow of words. Also I wrote a lot of tender romantic scenes when I was a touch-starved closeted high schooler, and I was surprised by how easy those scenes feel to write in my current work.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I have a tendency to write too much lead-in and too much ending if I'm not careful, so I basically have to chop off the first and last bits of every fic. I am very bad at coming up with plots. I worry a lot about capturing characters' voices and can struggle with differentiating them. And as previously mentioned, I tend to start a lot of things and not finish them, although I think I'm improving in that regard!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I'm very wary about it for myself. I could just about manage French but for anything else I'd want someone fluent to look it over for me.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Good Omens, back before the TV series came out! It was a pretty small fandom at that point, and I had to get my Aziraphale/Crowley angst out somewhere when I only knew like three people who'd read the book
