A short comic about comorbidity rates between autism and various sleep disorders, from autistic people's own reports and accounts of their experiences.

I originally made this for #asdcomictakeover 2023, but my schedule was woeful and I didn't get it finished until many months after autistic acceptance month. But I figured I should have it somewhere on the internet before 2024 rolls around. Thanks for reading! Please understand that I'm just one person and I'm by no means a medical authority. This is not a diagnostic tool, but it does highlight the reality that many autistic people face with chronically disordered sleep patterns. I hope it can help for autistic people to seek help and feel understood if they fall into these comorbidities.

real talk tho, I adore how the show gentleman jack never tries to water down anne's personality to be a kind of super 'progressive queer hero' as sometimes happens when people retell the stories of lgbtq+ people from history... like don't get me wrong, she obviously was an immensely brave and incredible woman, but the show never shies away from her more 'unsavoury' side (as in, her stubbornness, her rudeness, her often selfish worldview, her being a tory & a landowner, etc etc)

idk about anyone else, but to me it makes her all the more real! the fact she was brash and funny and flawed and intense and so so SO unabashedly queer, and she actually EXISTED just makes me so happy lol...

hi just providing random advice thats worked well 4 me: if u are able to work, shoot 4 restaurant gigs. not a big chain, but a local restaurant you cld easily take the bus/drive 2. & when shooting for a restaurant gig, go 4 food runner / expo. idk if this is universal, so somebody PLZ correct me if im wrong, but as a foodrunner, i get paid hourly & get tipped out by servers/bartenders nightly since they would have 2 go get their food frm the kitchen if not 4 me bringing it 2 customers.

also as general work advice, never EVER EVER work as hard as you can. if u show management or yr bosses yr full potential, they will see that and hold u 2 that standard constantly. be lazy. unless yr slack falls on another comrade/coworker, fuck em all. its so easy to forget what management tells u if its outside yr paygrade or yr workload. do NOT over-exert yrself on behalf of helping others. you will wear yourself down & u will feel yr soul & spirit fade & disintegrate if u constantly go into work & give it your all. remind yrself of what others Really expect of you. be nice to yourself!!! do not do things you wldnt ask of someone else!! if yr hourly, u arent getting paid more to wear yrself down & yr peers will feel it too.

& as always, talk to yr coworkers abt discontentment with pay or management & ease into union talks . if yr mental fortitude can take it, always be vigilante in ways u can unite yr coworkers 2 demand better environments.

last note but Thee most important 2 me: COMMUNICATE EVERYTHING ALWAYS!!!! this does not mean u have 2 always explain yrself & yr decisions, but if u are doing/saying something that affects those around u, communicate it & explain as needed from those around u.

Ok so I have ADHD and one thing I have a lot of issues with is executive dysfunction. It's horrible. So you know that method for when you have writers block and you just write everything else so that eventually the only thing you have left to write is what you need to write? Well I've started doing that with the tasks I need to do. I do all the other tasks until all that's left is the one task I was supposed to do. And let me tell you, it does not work.
