Track 24: Unwanted interactions

Synopsis: Victoria Shard was a former member of the popular idol group [ Poisoner ] from NRC corporations. After discourse with her group leader, Victoria decided it was best for her to leave and pursue her solo career in a record label run by her parents.

It had been half a year since her separation from her old group, and Victoria had never been more successful. But now she has a new problem. She must return to NRC corporations in order to mentor the seven idol groups.

Ellis Clawthorne is a member of [ (Co)-connect ] the most recent group under NRC'S belt. With no experience as an idol, Ellis must persevere in order to succeed and pursue her dreams.

Will both girls be able to adapt to their current situations?

"Now, to simplify what we've already discussed, 'No' questions are questions that can easily be answered with 'no'."

Ellis nodded determinedly, taking down notes as Mayuu and Victoria continued to teach them how to respond during interviews.

She wasn't surprised that Yuuta already knew most of the things they were discussing. Charming as he may be, everyone in the group acknowledged that he was on the manipulative side of the morality spectrum.

Juvia raised her hand."Um, how do we handle responding to rapid-fire questions?" She asked, unsure about what their answer would be.

Mayuu hummed, "Only answer the questions that you can answer."

Victoria nodded in agreement."Exactly. However, don't answer every single question that you can answer."

"If you're trying to send a message about the kind of person you are, you can't send that message by being defensive over something as trivial as a question from a reporter."

Everyone took those words in, sucking a breath before continuing to take notes.

"Now, when it comes to reporters, it's easy to ignore certain questions."

Mayuu looked at the group with a slightly more serious expression."That kind of thing doesn't apply as well to a sit-down interview." She stated, resting their hand on their hip.

Victoria narrowed her eyes before she harrumphed."Indeed. So it's important to find a way to redirect their questions in a way that you can properly answer them." She crossed her arms, sitting down on a nearby chair.

Chizuko arched a brow at her."And how do you suppose we do that?" She questioned, wondering what kind of answer she'll receive.

As Victoria was about to respond, the door suddenly swung open. Revealing Aguri Harper.

Or rather, Y/N L/N.

Aguri panted, clutching the doorknob for dear life, sweaty and exhausted. Victoria took note of the navy blue sweater that hugged his figure and complimented his body extremely well.

She rose a brow at them."Aguri… What exactly are you doing here?" Victoria stood up, slowly walking up to the esteemed actor.

The rest of (Co)-connect decided to remain silent, including Mayuu. They'd naturally want to see how this would unfold because of the revelation that their mentor essentially went on a date with Aguri.

After wiping the sweat off their face, Aguri sent Victoria a sarcastic smile.

"Happy to see me?"

"Not exactly. You interrupted something between me and my colleagues."

As much as Ellis utterly despised Aguri, she couldn't deny that she was already invested in their conversation.

Aguri formed a tight-lipped smile for Victoria."Good to know…. Now, shall we?" He extended his hand, waiting for her.

For a moment, Victoria looked at Aguri, then back at (Co)-connect. And in spite of her hesitation, she took Aguri's hand before begrudgingly wrapping her arm around his own.

"Let's hurry this up…" she muttered, quietly enough to make the group unable to hear her but loud enough for Aguri to hear her.

He snickered, escorting her out of the building."No promises, princess." The group heard as they made their way out of the building.

"You've humiliated me in front of them."

"How is picking you up for a hangout humiliating?"

Victoria scrunched her nose."Because one wouldn't exactly expect you to take me on what's essentially a date." She noted.

"For the last fucking time, it isn't a date-" Just as Aguri was about to groan, his face went pale.

Victoria noticed his change in expression and began trying to catch his attention. But she stopped when she heard the sound of heels clicking, getting louder as the source of the sound approached.

Runako Miyato. Also known by her pseudonym, Chu Bae-ron.

The woman in question took one good look at Victoria and whistled at Aguri."I'm guessing you finally caught the big fish, sonny."

Although Victoria was confused for a moment, it didn't take long for her to understand the meaning behind Runako's words after witnessing Aguri's unusual reaction to it.

She smirked, giving Aguri an amused look in her eyes."Sonny?" She repeated the term of endearment, taking note of the flushed look in Aguri's eyes.

Runako hummed before assessing Victoria's appearance for a moment. She had heard of the renowned idol from Aguri, as well as the numerous rumors, scandals, hardships, and accomplishments she's achieved in her career.

Not taking a second to hesitate, Runako extended her hand to Victoria."Runako. Runako Miyato, sister of Chizuko Miyato." She introduced herself, and a smile slowly spread across her face.

".... But I'm assuming you already knew that, didn't you, Shōri-san?"

Victoria looked back at Runako with a blank-eyed stare. All sense of expression disappeared from her face as she shook Runako's hand.

"Yes. I'm already aware of you, Chu Bae-ron."

Aguri laughed awkwardly, trying to avoid conversation as he suddenly took Victoria by the arm and walked past Runako.

"Hahaha, loving the interaction, but we really must be on our way, Runa. S-Sorry!"

Runako turned around, crossing her arms as Aguri did the equivalent of sprinting out of the building.

"Yup, just as I expected…. The boy's hopelessly in love."

Koral walked around, greeting everyone she came across with a friendly smile.

Although the workers of NRC felt perplexed by her gesture, they couldn't deny that the photos of her didn't do her justice.

Koral was radiant. Not at the levels of people like Vil or Victoria, but she certainly had an appeal in her childlike appearance.

And of course, she knew that. She saw the appeals people had over her appearance, and so she did more to reel them in.

And that effort?... She was sure that they weren't in vain. Despite what "he" had done to heighten her career, Koral believed that it was her own efforts that brought her success.

Out of nowhere, Koral bumped into someone.

Ellis. And she was with Carol and Yuuta.

Although Ellis stumbled, Carol was there to support her and quickly helped her regain balance.

But in the case of Koral, she stumbled before falling onto the ground.

Yuuta internally cringed when she started whimpering, almost to the point of tears. He had to temporarily look away from Koral's direction to refrain from vomiting on the spot.

Ellis, rightfully confused, awkwardly helped Koral up. And she flinched when she finally took notice of Koral's aesthetic.

An aesthetic similar to her own. And if Koral's hair wasn't redder than Ellis's, she would've looked like her doppelganger.

"Um…. Are you okay?"

Koral nodded bashfully, turning away with a light blush.

Ellis seethed while inhaling sharply. From the moment she saw the blush on Koral's face, she knew that it was an act.

"Y-Yes…. I'm okay." Koral finally responded. Yuuta's eyes narrowed and he took it upon himself to subtly pull Ellis away from Koral.

Ellis nodded, somewhat confused and even more cringed."Uh- Great… I'm Ellis Clawthorne, a member of (Co)-connect!" She managed to exclaim with a horrible attempt at a grin.

As much as Ellis didn't want to admit it, she was genuinely suspicious and weirded out by Koral. She couldn't even properly comprehend that Koral pretty much became Vil's new manager.

So she wanted to get this conversation over with.

Koral smiled back, oblivious to the sheer awkwardness of the atmosphere."Nice to meet you, Ellis! I'm Ichigo- I mean Koral! Koral Larrane…" she greeted back, that bashful smile quickly returning.

Before Ellis could think of a response, Yuuta dragged her past Koral so they could reach the dance studio. As for Carol, she gave Koral a one-note apology before catching up to Yuuta and Ellis.

Yuuta quickly groaned once Koral was out of his line of sight."FINALLY… That girl was pissing me off." He admitted loudly.

Carol pushed up her glasses, annoyed with Yuuta but also silently agreeing with him."Because of course, she does, Yuuta." She muttered.

Ellis hummed in response."Yeah…." She trailed off.

".... I don't think I wanna get into another conversation with her."

Hagazussa (2017) 🇩🇪🇦🇹works in so many levels. Folklore and fairytales arise from our own unconsciousness. Wow, what a movie -It can be interpreted endlessly and at this time I will do that. There is also Spoiler alert 🚨

👁At the beginning of the film my attention was drawn to the mother's gaze. First a warm look and later disappointed, when the child is returning from the forest. The filmmaker has grown up in the region where Hansel and Gretel originated. Mother or, in fairy tales often a stepmother, can also get tired and hate her child. But also the Child does not believe that he can be loved & hated at the same time.

Dedifferentation anxiety happens when our mind is in great danger. It means the fear of loosing the differentiation, separation from the mother sort of fails and the result is strong anxiety.

💀This is why the psychological world (mind) is spilt in black & white also in the normal development of the mind. There is no possibility to be angry for the Other (caregiver), because we are helpless and dependent. First the baby have to get away from the mother, to be a separate being, to seek persona and own body. But when we are alone, fear can make us seek a sense of control, safety and quick solutions. It happens for us adults too in crises, but it can be traumatic.

👨‍🍼The Missing Father in the film is interesting, and that for sure is the case when traumas are passed down from one generation to the next. Is the trauma rape, or is the story just a symbolic description of a daughter’s relationship with her mother?

Next, the mother gets sick. The presence of death is beginning to be felt. The early loss of a mother also means the threat of destruction for the child it threatens self experience - annihilation. A depressed mother, addict and a cancerous mother came to my mind - the caretaker is unavailable in her presence. In an “incest scene” the mother devours her child’s life force, while at the same time, of course, traumatizing the child.

Mother’s death is a relief and life force wins, life is hard and lonely but there is a life. But no Albrun can’t get rid of her mother’s ghost (shadow of the bad internal object). The priest gives back the mother’s skull, which overshadows Albrun’s motherhood, which could have given a distance of symbiosis with the mother. The child becomes difficult and breastfeeding fails, feeling a failure as a mother.

In a sensual scene, goat’s milk is like the elixir of life at its purest, Eros - or is it a substitute by displacement (Freud)? - She takes over her sexual body and at the same time frees herself from the mother.

🐐A Scapegoat does not produce ecstatic milk, it is poisonous. An idea often found in the background of witch allegations. Witch or no witch, individual gets angry (inwards ) and even starts to believe that he is an outsider.

In the earlier scene her new friend offers her an apple from the tree of life, but possible envy towards the child awakens again the ghost of the mother, and make the friend leave? When a friend is later shown up close, it’s like a encounter of the Real, everything is revealed and deception follows. A scene that is like a primal scene.

🍎The movie is also about social identities. Otherness is about ”Us vs. Them” by stigmatizing a difference – real or (often) imagined. As humans we have the need to classify things. In crisis that classification becomes harsh. We feel that members in OUR group are superior and should be protected from the Evil. Discrimination, conscious or unconscious, may be result of a group or individual, or whole society:

🪳This happened in the times of witch processes and is happening now in and all the levels of society were and are involved. Classification of the witch was needed because the phenomena was invisible. There will always be human difference in the society, and a minority or marginalized group can perhaps never be fully extirpated without violence.

🍄 Whether Albrun’s mushroom trip is an attempt to find a symbiotic connection to Mother (Earth)? In clinical practice, I have come across the fact that abandoned or neglected children often prefer in later life psychedelic drugs.

In Alburn’s revenge fantasy, she uses the powers of the vagina, not intricate spell books but intuitive magic. A killed rat and body fluids, toxic ones, contaminate drinking water and at least coincidentally just then the plague (the Pale Maiden/Pesta) arrives in the village..

🩸Is pedicide and suicide attempt a delusion? Has the child already died before that? Is the horror before going to the swamp pond, perhaps a fear that the same witches curse, or trauma, would continue in the child? Thanatos offers the promise of eternal sleep, however strongest instinct is the self-preservation. (In the times of witch trials pedicide was a more common reason for a death sentence than witchcraft. ☠️)

🫕I think Albrun cooks the child. In psychoanalytic theory, incorporation is a (controversial) defence mechanism whereby a person mentally ingests or swallows another person, an instinctual object, or a part object. Reparation?

👁In psychosis symbolic is lost and things can come very concrete, fearful things are heard and sometimes seen, hidden things are revealed... I don’t know why her eyes comes cloudy but in the mythology people are often blinded for offences against the gods (e.g. a symbolic castration, as a punishment).

🔥 Ending of the film is a bit difficult. Burn the witches? When the sun rises Albrun bursts in to flames, like a vampire. Destruction, shame, final revenge or collapse of the psyche - schizophrenia?

👹Europe’s Inner Demons, appear in the film as a background story. Persecution of different groups of people at different times, beliefs related to witches such as eating children, erotic goat at the center of sexuality, causes of the plague epidemic, witches lurking in the woods.

🎞Stunning film, beautiful and terrible pictures, wonderful world of sound, between the film is even too much. Not a traditional horror movie. 🇫🇮poem says that the little girls are made of sugar, cinnamon, ginger and flowers. They are not.🌸

🥊, 🍎, and 💀for Otto

🥊 (What do they love/hate to do?) One of Otto's favorite things to do is working on the children's show he's the host of. Even with all the hours of makeup and rehearsing lines, it's not as stressful as his other job. Which, uh, it does get exciting from time-to-time, but he's definitely not a fan of getting shot at, having to test his drinks for possible poisons, checking his car to make sure there's nothing rigged to the door, having to watch his back anytime he's alone, etc.

🍎 (What is their relationship w/ their parents like?) Oof... Well, before his mom had passed, they were very close! Otto's relationship with his dad at the time wasn't bad, but they weren't nearly as close. His dad focused more on his older brothers. As for his relationship with his dad now, they... don't really talk. When they do, it's pretty brief. He feels kinda forgotten. It's for the best, though.

💀 (Do they have any phobias?) If I gave him any, 🤔 I forgor lmao. Probably a fear of falling. He's used to heights, he just doesn't like getting close to any building edges or balconies.

Reyloween Day 10: Apple

“There you are.”

The voice was soft and low, but it still made Rey jump and whirl around with a gasp.

The Lord of the Underworld stood where the voice had come from, his countenance one of mild amusement.

Rey felt herself scowl.

“You scared me,” she mumbled, rubbing the goosebumps from her arms.

“My apologies, Lady Rey,” the Lord said with a small bow, the airy fabric of his shadow cloak flowing with the movement. His still-present smile—small though it was—made his apology seem less than sincere.

His eyes found hers when he rose back to full height.

“You disappeared for quite a while. What have you been up to?”

The twinkle in his eye told Rey he knew exactly what she’d been up to.

Rey kept herself from fidgeting as she thought ‘Trying to find a way out of here.’

“Just wanted to take a walk,” she said instead, her chin rising as she asked, “Is that allowed, Lord Kylo?”

He gave a small motion of his hand. “Certainly, My Lady. I only wondered if you might have gotten lost when you did not appear for the midday meal.”

“I wasn’t hungry,” Rey flippantly lied, and then was promptly made the fool by the loud grumbling of her stomach. She huffed, her cheeks aflame, and wrapped her arms around her middle as she looked away.

To his credit, Lord Kylo didn’t laugh at her, although Rey saw him in the corner of her eye as he pressed his lips together to smother a grin, his grip on his staff flexing as he tried to control himself.

“You should eat something, My Lady,” he told her after a moment, and then with a small flourish he extended his hand to offer an apple, so red against the dreary backdrop around them.

Rey’s eyes widened at the display, surprised he was able to conjure anything living at all.

“It’s not poisoned,” he quietly assured her. “I promise.”

Rey searched his face and found only sincerity, with a spot of amusement for her hesitation.

She reached forward slowly, waiting to see if he’d snatch back his offering or try to scare her again, but he only held still, watching her calmly.

Once the apple was in her grasp—after accidentally brushing against Lord Kylo’s fingers, sending tingles up her arm and a redder blush to her face—she said a genuine “Thank you,” and then quickly bit into the fruit. It was sweet and crisp, almost as good as the ones from back home.

“There’s more food at the castle,” the Lord added after she swallowed. “Shall we?” He motioned away with his staff.

More food sounded great to Rey, so she nodded around another bite of apple.

Before she could scurry back, Lord Kylo stepped forward and wrapped the long end of his cloak around her shoulders with his arm, pulling her into his side, where she came into direct contact with his torso. For someone who looked nearly dead, he was surprisingly warm.

She froze, looking up in flushed confusion.

“The cloak will make traveling faster,” he explained. “We’ll go through the shadows.”

And as they stepped forward in unison, a darkness washed over them, causing Rey to yelp and squeeze her eyes shut, unconsciously pressing closer to the man’s side.

The air turned colder as it flowed around them, and Rey shuddered at the feel of the shadows brushing against her skin and hair.

After a moment, the lack of cold touches coupled with the soft clang of Lord Kylo’s staff touching against marble floors told Rey they were inside the castle now, so she opened her eyes.

The Lord was gazing down at her with mirth dancing in his dark eyes.

“You don’t need to be afraid of the dark down here,” he said as she extracted herself from his grasp as daintily as possible, feeling strangely hot all of a sudden. “I am the worst thing you’d find in the shadows, and I would never harm you.”

Rey gave a weak smile.

“I appreciate that, My Lord, but I’m sure I’ll always be afraid of the dark.”

“Well,” he said, stepping close with the focus of a hawk. “Perhaps in time I can change that.”
