Petition for Anti- pollution

We're SERIOUSLY going to kill not only ourselves, but millions of others, including people, animals, AND the environment if we don't get the pollution and stuff fixed. We're killing our home, our planet, we don't get a second chance if we kill earth, guys, we really, really don't.

Pollution, fossil fuels and oil? That's going to get us all killed, and fast too with how global warming and climate change is picking up.

There are more than 1000 species of sharks and rays worldwide. Sharks are apex predators in the ocean and they keep the ecosystem balanced. With decreasing populations, many ecosystems are becoming unbalanced leading to an increase in species that otherwise would have low populations and increased invasive species with no predators.

Due to overfishing and bycatch, some species are on the verge of extinction. Some threatened species include:

The great white shark (classified as vulnerable)

Whale sharks (classified as endangered by the IUCN)

The great hammerhead (classified as critically endangered)

Dusky sharks are officially endangered. They are highly sought after for finning(a practice where fishermen catch and cut the fins from shark ,throw them back into the ocean defenseless to prey ,bleeding out and unable to properly float).

Sand tiger sharks are classified as critically endangered. They have 1-2 pups every two to three’s years making it much more harder for their populations to naturally replenish.

Ganges shark-very rarely seen and it is estimated that approximately 250 of this species are alive. They are true river sharks(can inhabit freshwater) and a unique threat to them is pollution.

To give these sharks and many others a fighting chance,sustainable fishing practices should be enforced and ecosystem pollution should be reduced.

I don’t wanna sound mean or hateful but tbh I am Taylor fan - yes. And yes - I do think that ALL billionaires should be publicly shamed for their CO2 emissions - including Taylor. I’m really concerned about climate change, I’m from the small Asian country and it already affects us here and the truth is that all the big companies and all billionaires are mainly responsible for what’s happening with climate. I’m not saying Taylor or other public figures should fly commercial and risk their safety - of course not. But I do think they should be more responsible, find a way to make their flying more eco - for example - why Taylor won’t bring all of her crew - band and dancers - on the plane with her when she’s flying to another country for tour? Why is she flying alone? Why she isn’t speaking up about the climate, why she’s not campaigning for a change? And those questions aren’t just for her, they are for all the celebs who remain silent. Just because I love her it doesn’t mean I won’t criticise her cause her actions and the way of living sadly affect my living conditions. I know it’s easy to live in America or Europe and have access to AC and food no matter what the weather is. But there are countries like mine that depends on the weather. I’m sorry but I had to say it cause it makes me really sad how some ppl on here treat those who actually care about the planet cause their life RIGHT NOW is at risk

i'm glad you shared this - thank you for explaining and adding this needed perspective (because i am a privileged american and i know a lot of my followers are too.) and i think those logistical concerns are completely reasonable. because taylor doesn't speak up (and i no longer expect her to, about anything really) we can only hope she is doing what she can, or assume she's not, i guess.

'chartering a commercial 747 is less emissions than using a private jet' <-actual thing i have seen people saying on here.

this is not true. basic logic; a bus emits more than a car when travelling the same distance. reason bus is more environmentally friendly: the much larger number of people it can hold far outweighs the larger emission overall so it's less emissions per passenger.

747=bus in the sky. private jet=car in the sky.

i don't care how fuel efficient you make your bus/747 and how many environmentally friendly things you add to it (unless it's fully electric and renewably powered but we don't have that for planes) it will always take more energy to get a bigger vehicle off the ground and going wherever it goes than a much smaller one. weight/size is the biggest limiting factor here. there's no point using a bigger vehicle if you're running it mostly empty*

*(with buses they sometimes do run mostly empty off peak because you need them there for the times they fill up, you never know when this might happen. with a chartered plane you know exactly who's going to be on it. if you must use a plane either jump in the one with everyone else or use the smallest one possible that can hold everyone you need)

the more I think about political veganism, the more it strikes me as just downright egotistical. it presumes that humans and nature are somehow separate, and that the only relationships we can every have with nature is one of subjugation or one of passive avoidance. eating animals is not an inherent act of domination or cruelty, because we are animals. its akin to transhumanism in the sense that, whether consciously or not, it implies we can somehow "overcome" the fact that we are meat eating animals, which was never the problem in the first place. the problem is a system that values profit over ethics and sustainability

also extremely worth noting that indigenous people have known this shit all along and get called murders for practising their sustainable cultural and religious practices by white vegans who care more about animals than brown ppl
