🏊‍♂️ Bargain Bend Pool

This sizeable backwater lot in Foundry Cove was once the Cadenza Lounge. After a fire, it now houses a free community pool after the neighborhood teamed up to restore the building themselves. It boasts a sauna, gym, hot tub, sprinkler pad, outdoor bar, bubble blower, juice pong table with keg, DJ station, and more. Since then, the neighbors love using the space for birthday parties, meet-ups, or a quick yoga session. Public pools are great for the community!

After getting top surgery I feel so much more comfortable with the idea of swimming in public but unfortunately the majority of my friends are trans people who have NOT gotten whatever respective surgery that would make each of them feel comfortable swimming in public so I have nobody to go swimming with :(

#i can swim by myself but i don’t want to go to a pool i want to swim in rivers and creeks that ARE swimmable but have big signs warning #people of possible dangers like currents and shallow areas so i want to do that w/ someone else just in case something happens #yapping tag

Sometimes when I'm birdwatching

#sometimes when i’m birdwatching #things that aren’t birds #these were the closest I got to fish #on my first tenkara angling attempt #I didn't actually try to catch these #I suspect they're chub rather than trout #not actually sure #my fish ID skills being much more rudimentary #but they were tiny #maybe 2 to 3 inches tops #I was doing the tenkara thing #in some of the deeper pools #which in this creek #means about 2-3 feet deep #basically bathtub-sized #I'm not sure there were any fish in there #I certainly didn't catch any #maybe one strike (if it wasn't a rock or a stick catching the fly)#one swirl at the surface that might have been a trout #but it was useful practice #and I look forward to applying what I learned #on a creek with actually visible trout #so I know if I don't catch any #that it's not just because they're not there #closer...
