Okay, but the fact that Poppy’s last name as a kid meant “Light”.

The fact that Poppy was the one to inspire Ian at Everlight.

The fact that Poppy is light and Ian is darkness (“Grimm”) and there’s something very elemental about their names, like they were meant to meet and mesh.

You can’t have light without the dark and vice versa. They clash but they also NEED to be together.

The fact that Poppy has inspired Ian to change for the better several times. That she came into his life at a somewhat low point and brightened his outlook almost immediately.

i love this show and this is my favorite episode i never see anyone talking about mythic quest

projecting rn cuz i cant stop thinking abt my squish;

aromantic queerplatonic poppy and ian. pop was the first one to have a squish when she saw him do his lecture and got really excited and wanted to talk to him because she was inspired by him. ian realized he had a squish on poppy later after they had been working together for a while, but didn’t know he was aro or that he had a squish on her so he just got embarrassed with himself and ignored it.

they never officially put the queerplatonic label on it but like.. they are. they love each other so deeply and they’re so connected to one another and want to spend the rest of their lives together despite how dysfunctional they are. people think they’re dating/married and whenever they hear that they both are genuinely repulsed and make fake gagging sounds. they both laugh that people think they would be dating the other, because obviously they’re so out of the other one’s league. then they fight about it. then they hug about it.
