blabbering abt menae + dalish headcanons under the cut for any curious minds

I headcanon that the dalish - or at least clan lavellan - are very physically affectionate folk. to make nomadic life work, you need strong social cohesion, and phyiscal affection is one of the ways to contribute to that. plus, long days and nights of aravel travel, sleeping in tents and such means you have to get familiar with the people around you. same with nudity - you see everybody you know naked at some point while bathing in the river or getting changed or whatever.

shemlen are not so physically affectionate, and menae finds herself touch starved as fuck in the early days of the inquisition - especially before her brother arrives in haven. she would do anything for a shoulder to lean on or a warm hug. but alas - everything is weird, most people think she either killed the divine or was called by a god she doesn't believe in. and it's not like any of the inner circle are going to give her a hug, no matter how sad and wet she looks

once she gets to know the team better everyone (provided they don't like. say otherwise. people are allowed to have boundaries) is cool with menae hugs or chins on shoulders or leaning on them or whatever. it's not awful, and it makes her happy, so what's the harm? also when they're in colder environments it's very nice to get a hug from a mage who primarily uses fire for combat - she is very warm. sharing a tent with the inquisitor in emprise du lion is a sought-after commodity

however she's not physically affectionate in like. a public setting. enough rumours fly around about who she's sleeping with and she doesn't want to give them more ammunition, plus the other members of the inner circle have reputations to maintain as well. once she's in a more private setting though it's cuddling time. she's the "cries because you won't let her crawl inside your ribcage" type of gf also.

obviously, solas is weird about it at first - he was in uthenera for like a couple milennia and before that he was the fucking dread wolf, leader of the rebellion, effectively a god. unsolicited positive physical contact is Weird as fuck. but as we know he's a sucker and grows to love having a leech attached to him at all times when they're alone together.

I've had this Au for a few months now but some people on discord got me talking about it again so i figured i might as well share it here as well! The basic premise Is that about a year after the war of Era's another villain has come to mess with the timeline, this time, every single era is being merged together into one. The main story follows Vio, who during four swords adventure, was taken from the others and held prisoner in the tower of winds in complete and total isolation until his memories of their brothers and adventures began to fade, He was saved by Warriors, Tune, and Mask and after recovering enough from their time imprisoned decided to join Wars and everyone else in helping with figuring things out.

Although I had some ideas of this for Vio at first it formed into what it is now because I jokingly then seriously went in with the crack ship of VioxShadowxHW Link, and then more characters kept being added onto it, so its just called the 'Harem au' and thats what i'll tag it as, but I'll make a separate post about Vio's polycul so that i can edit it as it changes-

also! for the main ref i used and the one of Vio holding Haru, i used pose refs/bases from @albanenechi and @mellon-soup

Also Vio's snake! Her name keeps switching between Aigis and Aochang because i'm very indecisive and i like both of them, and since she also partly acts as translator when Vio uses sign language she can speak any language Vio also knows :)
