This obsession so many liberals and leftists have with RFK just proves that many of them are not actually paying attention to policy or political positions these candidates have. The left is supposed to be the ones that act more intelligently however moments like this really proves how much in common the left has with the right.
“what conspiracy theory are you convinced is true?” is an interesting conversation starter. I guess my answer to it would be bonar menninger and howard donahue’s hypothesis that the shot that killed jfk was essentially a workplace accident is probably the most convincing argument in that area I’ve ever seen.
the brass tacks of it is that Oswald fired the shot that hit kennedy and connally, but a hungover secret service agent misfired his weapon while he was reacting to this. and the cia basically covered this up because it’s, frankly, a massive embarrassment.
mine's done a lot of sexy things in my opinion but top five to me still is asking daigo if he wanted to prioritize The Family or one man Not In The Family
I see where you're coming from, but also blorbo is different to everyone and we all had different experiences. I was in voltron but pidge was my blorbo, not lance, so I rarely saw him. And then I saw Yuuri everywhere whether I wanted to or not. Also, polls are not about accuracy, as much as we might think they should be. Life is a popularity contest. 🩵💙🩵💙🩵
my blorbo rankings contain multitudes. however, i am cognizant enough to recognize two things:
while lance is not my specific blorboest blorbo, i still rank him to be a more iconic blorbo than yuri. and so my vote for lance is still valid.
this poll is about most iconic blorbo. i like keith and allura more than i like lance, but i firmly believe that lance is voltron's most iconic character. i define "iconic" based on the following criteria: a) canon material; b) fandom experience and reaction; and c) impact on outsiders (the "did i see this character everywhere" standard). i heavily value points in the (b) category over points for (a) and (c).
lance's canon material sucks ass. however, the fandom's ability to 1) go crazy over lance anyway, and then 2) ability to extrapolate so heavily, insist on digging so deeply, and create so genuinely is impressive to me. and also incredibly hilarious. this is why i made the toxic iconity argument: i deeply respect the daily battles lance stans fought, both between themselves/the wider voltron fandom, and the constant enduring sisyphus-level uphill battle against the quality of the canon material. lance stans were able to create everything out of veritable nothingness, and i believe that deserves to be commemorated.
Made a bet with my significant other on whether my ASD evaluation would come out autism positive (the partner's stance) or autism negative (my stance). Evidence for both sides is as follows:
Autism Positive
- "Your Entire Existence" - quote from partner
- Everyone else thinks I'm autism sus
- ADHD test came back as 3/5; some traits but not enough for a clinical diagnosis
- Liked trains as child
- regularly uses chew toy
Autism Negative
- Will the doctors know what they're talking about?
- I've never met the medical stereotype fully
- And even if I did, those idiots somehow missed me with how obvious everyone says my supposed autism is.
- I could just be weird
We staked 30 of our hard earned, american dollars on this bet.
also this master has such a flair for show, for performance. i guess they always do but i feel it way more with him. first o: “look at all the evidence i gathered, and they just mocked me 🥺”
and on the eiffel tower: “not sure how to describe what i found. pulverised? burned? nuked? all of the above. someone destroyed it. our home, razed to the ground. everyone killed.... everything burned.....”
then the timeless children being this entire show and tell with the doctor as audience
it’s interesting bc im only really familiar with modern masters and like, simm!master plays it up for sure but hes in no way this controlled about it. and missy is,,,,i get the feeling with missy that she isnt sure herself when shes acting and when she isnt. the line between artifice and authenticity dissolves with her and in her interactions with other people, especially the doctor: ”maybe youre trying to impress me”
but dhawan!master is their synthesis and it shows so beautifully. he will act, especially to the doctor, he will play parts he knows she likes, but he never loses sight of his own emotional reality. he takes the stage to play and he doesnt when hes off. maybe he even plays the parts he knows she likes ironically. self-aware, other-self-aware. more aware than she is.
oh the horror
and she doesnt buy this, of course
but it’s the wrong part she doesnt buy. his emotions about it were feigned, not the events themselves (which is interesting in terms of this being post the doctor falls but i dont know what to make of that yet; im sorta leaning to just like, general overcorrection/her understanding of him and their relationship is a lot less nuanced than his. The Master Lies, with no abilty to maybe differentiate between different kind of things he could be lying about for different reasons. but maybe im underestimating the doctor)
anyway tldr i think because of the vault this master has a very complex understanding of his relationship with the doctor and their relationships to their own identities, i think he understands it better or more consciously than the doctor does at this point, which allows him to play his own identity self-aware and ironically whereas the doctor is still dead serious
ok but i'm playing through the operation anchorage dlc and i just wanna know if anybody's made a commentary on the way the simultation PEDDLES propaganda through its presentation and through the miscellaneous holotapes you find throughout the areas.
like. i'm sure somebody has. but this whole story of the lone, green soldier recording tapes home to his partner (re: molly) being implanted into a combat simulation... definitely giving "here's how we, the u.s. government, are going to train your hatred toward this specific minority group"
still can't write bc wrists still hurt but what i CAN do is daydream an entire star system's relationship to ritual combat and fighting prowess that will be relevant to only two people in hermnautica
i think im starting to not learn how to play chess from chess puzzles and instead learning what moves are most likely to be the correct move in a puzzle
