i feel like posting a short blurb from my wip bc i wrote it when i was just putting words to paper - not even writing, just getting ideas down - and i still find it hilarious
“Your impertinence is amusing when it’s aimed at my brother, but you will not prevail against me, Emrys,” Morgana hissed, her wild and unkempt hair sticking out around her head like a bed of snakes.
Merlin’s eyes narrowed further as he pulled himself higher in his seat to properly look down at her, “Destiny has decided I will always be stronger than you, better than you. I will always be your doom. Just give in, witch.”
Morgana stood, her chair scraping loudly as it sailed from behind her. She slammed her hands down on the Round Table, sending Lord Nimrod to the floor with the force of his flinch, “I deserve to be Court Sorceress.”
Merlin stood much slower with an air of quiet power and grace. He crossed his arms and continued to stare down at her, “That’s nepotism.”
“Bullshit!” Morgana turned her mad stare over to Arthur who was staring up at the ceiling, his eyes drooping with exhaustion.

Ferrari on the other hand, for all their faults have never forgotten how to win.
oh you are so right! and i thought about this a lot last year too. barring 2020-2021, they have won atleast one race every single year since 2015 i think (in the hybrid era).
mclaren on the other hand won their first race in almost 8 years in 2021 and then directly now. mclaren may know how to make a fast car but i think they still don’t remember how to make the use of it yet because they are so used to not being competitive; something which lando struggles with more than oscar because this is all he has known. and them prioritizing lando over oscar may cost them the championship imo.
I agree, the moment we taste a chance at the front, even in a slower car we go for it aggressively. That's the only way to win. You have to be bold, in strategy and on track.
I actually have what is possibly a hot take on Mclaren's season? (I have no idea but here goes)
People(the media) have been painting this as the WCC fight for Mclaren, or even a title fight for Lando. And while the WCC is in the cards, I think that this season for Mclaren is actually a fight between Lando and Oscar to show which of them is actually going to be better. I have been saying for a while now that once Oscar got competitive at the front with Lando Mclaren would have trouble. And I think we can all agree I was right. So what's really happening is two drivers who are at the moment pretty evenly matched, are trying to definitively prove who is better. This will set the tone for their 2025 season and beyond. Oscar has come into his own very quickly. And as much as Mclaren push Lando as the obvious #1, on track it's become far more murky. So I think that Mclaren's season is going to be defined how things shake out between the two drivers on track in terms of results and racecraft.
And the thing is that with this going on it's really impossible to properly launch a title fight. Mclaren as a team still need to sort things out with how they handled their drivers.
I think the big thing is that no one expected Oscar to come into the team and be able to catch up to Lando so quickly. It's a pretty strong driver lineup, but I think that we may see Oscar get very close to Lando in the WDC this year, or even pass him, and if that happens things at the team are going to be very interesting.
And I agree if they keep insisting on prioritizing Lando even if Oscar is performing equally or better it's going to cost them.
I think also the way Hungary went down has both drivers thinking long and hard about how they want to handle team orders like that in the future. And depending on the conclusion they came to could also spell trouble. (Although Mclaren seem reluctant to give a direct team order, can you even go against team orders if the team is vaguely suggesting what they want you to do?)
But to me, after these last few rounds I think that Mclaren's season will be defined by how things ultimately stack up between the drivers at the end of the year. That seems like a very bland take, but given the circumstances at the team it may have larger implications going forward, especially if the team is also competitive in 2025.
It just feels like we are all being told to look one direction when it comes to Mclaren's season, when something very different is unfolding on track.
