Came across these on Facebook today. God he was so little. But I was never afraid to hold him… We instantly had a bond. His dad just fucking adored him but also wasn’t afraid to hold him. A lot of people were! He looked so fragile. I could go on and on, but this baby is 5 and gonna be 6 in May! I love you Jack.

When you have your preterm baby, you become part of a worldwide community of #nicuparents. Today is #worldprematurityday and while I was going to save this for my 18th birthday photo I’m going to share it now instead. For those who don’t know I was born 25 weeks old with my two brothers (they ended up not surviving) I was in the NICU for a long long time.

After my parents lost my brothers it was a scary and crazy time. They prayed for me to make it despite multiple obstacles and issues. It was scary for both of them as they had no idea if I’d make it at all.

I made it.

Premature babies are often sickly and weak due to not being fully developed Physically so even though I eventually got healthy it took a long long time to get there.

I’m grateful for the doctors and nurses who helped me and my parents through that difficult time I also believe that my parents Faith in God also helped me live as he had a plan for me. He still does 🙏 I’ve been through a lot but I’m glad I’m here. Lots of babies who are born early don’t make it but there are a lucky few who do.

Her little cry broke my heart, and I wanted nothing more than to hold and comfort her. What a difference 6 months makes!! She is now weighing in at a lovely chubby 10lbs, has the most beautiful smile and laugh in the world, and her cry is really bloody loud!
