So... I have this crazy future/fankid/adult characters au(?) and I might as well share it here.

It starts mainly with Metamy, Amy is a baker with tattoos that sometimes goes into Muder She Wrote-type stories with her redeemed cyborg husband as they both learn how to be parents of their accidentally-created cyborg daughter M.I.A. MIA was created by an even older Eggman after a mix-up of Amy's ADN with the formula he had to create an organic Metal so it ended up as a mess that have not use to him, he proceeded to give the cyborg child to Metal and Amy and so they are parents now! *they grow naturately with time as a sentient learning cyborg.

Then we have the sonadilver golden boy: NOVA!

Nova is a mobian that was born out of a massive space phenomenom that Sonic, Shadow and Silver restrained in their super forms (he is basically a compressed star.)

He has aerokinesis: He can float, get aceleration and bend air at will.

Nova is also a MASSIVE TROUBLEMAKER, he is a dj (like arts and music) and is kind of an extremist performer with too much power and confidence for his own good, seeking trouble and causing problems for the fun of it because he is certain he can fix things (he abuses of the chaos emeralds a LOT)

But he is kind of a superstar because of it and the way he goes against the current Eggman Empire. wich lead us to...

SAGE is the new princess in charge of the Eggman Empire and the whole Eggnet.

She is following the steps of her elderly father and fulfilling his job and evil vision updating and "growing" over the years. By proxy, she is MIA's aunt and also NOVA'S #1 nemesis.

Nova wrecks stuff to the core and let's the chaos emeralds have nature take over it because she is even more poisonous than Eggman and grows all the time as a dangerous virus. *They respect eachother above anything else tho.

!! THAT IS THE START OF THE MASTER THREAT FOR NOW !!

I have other fankids and more lore to make, but that also means more characters to design and more stuff to draw so have patience with me. You are free to ask away anything you want about this tho, that would be fun <3

so its not super developed, and im not sure if ill build on it much, but i have a bit of lore!

doom is the captain of the Comet, and hes super feared and has legends around him and stuff. out of nowhere he just goes off the map, radio silent for years. then, after the years of nothing, theres sightings of the Comet sailing again, but with a new captain, aka Shadow.

shadow has the third eye in this au because it's essentially dooms way of keeping things under his control from the background. shadow may be the new captain, but dooms the one pulling the strings.

meanwhile, sonic and co are all childhood friends. they all grow up hearing about the pirate legends, and sonic actually saw the Comet once.

sonic, being who he is, decides to sail when he grows up, and challenge the Comet. when he hears tell of the new captain, rumored to be a deity of the ocean, and the fastest pirate alive, sonic cant NOT go after it!

amy has her own ship, shes not a pirate, but she ships goods back and forth. eventually the entire crew is convinced to tag along on sonics little quest.

when they run low on goods, they make a plan to plunder a kingdom. they kidnap their princess, blaze, and make their demands. sonic whispers to her that they arent actually gonna kill her obviously, its just rough out here you know?

blaze however, is sick of stuffy palace life, and asks if she can tag along. the crew agrees, so with a new member and replenished food, theyre back on their way. (yes blazamy is implied)

when the do find the Comet, they get. absolutely thrashed.

however , the captain is impressed at the show of skill, and agrees to let the rest of the crew go free in exchange for sonic.

doom, however, isnt pleased that shadow let the rest of the crew live (that one comic). sonic ends up overhearing that doom isnt actually dead, and realizes this great legend he read about for so long was much more of an abusive asshole than he anticipated.

sonic ends up befriending eclipse and rouge, and obviously slow burn sonadow as well. they all agree doom needs to die, but shadow doesnt know if he can bring himself to do it, when being afraid of doom is all hes ever known.

thats pretty much everything solid i have! im really bad at writing endings, but i may work on it!

ok question. silver is from an apocolypse future and went back in time to try and fix it right? i was under the impression that blaze was ALSO from that future and went back in time with him. but apparently she's a princess from another dimension? what?

Okay so here's the rundown:

Blaze was created for and introduced in Sonic Rush (2005), where she is FIRMLY established as the princess in a long line of guardians of her dimension's versions of the chaos emeralds, the Sol Emeralds, and the longtime rival of her version of Eggman, Eggman Nega. Rush Adventure expands her dimension's worldbuilding a bit more but Rush is important because Blaze makes her first friend ever (Cream, then Sonic)

Sonic Rush was popular

Sonic 06 was rushed as HELL. FAMOUSLY rushed as hell. They pushed that shit out with more glitches than lines of code

Blaze appears in that game as Silver's friend from his future. It is never established why or how she is there, and she only seems to recognize Sonic once– in the English Dub, in the Japanese she doesn't at all. Sonic does not recognize her either despite this occurring after Rush in the timeline. The two of them are in the same room at least once and do not speak to each other. At the end of the game Blaze is like "I'll seal the demon inside myself in a.... parallel dimension. yeah that sounds right" and goes poof and we never see her again

Except??????? Blaze couldn't have just poofed there girl has a whole-ass FAMILY LINE in a dimension with DEEP LORE like???

Also, aside from like. basic NPC quests? Blaze also doesn't speak to anyone in that game aside from Silver– it's not just Sonic she ignores. Not Mephiles, not Amy, not Elise. ONLY Silver. She is the only one to interact with him and vice-versa.

A lot of us read into that a lot of ways the but the honest truth is she was probably yeeted into the game late in development cause they realized Silver needed someone to talk to.

Other evidence for this is that her '06 profile mentions stuff about her that was not in Rush– for instance, an Elsa-Gloves Cape that she only had in Rush's concept art. This implies that they got the bare minimum information and just threw some shit at the wall. They were like "okay. cape, other dimension, fire powers. got it" and missed like. the emeralds and eggman and self-isolation and. princess

The best thing to come out of this tho is Blaze and Silver's brOTP. (or OTP if you're into that) Though the '06 timeline was erased, Silver and Blaze have a familiarity with each other in Colors DS that they can't quite place, and show up as buddies in a lot of media and it's so fucking cute I love them

OKAY PROPAGANDA TIME! @yttd-enjoyerNo pressure for any of these lol, I added a lot because rambling and procrastination. I’m copy-pasting some descriptions from another post of mine. I was trying to look for some with good lore and magic systems, or that had great characters.

Cursed Princess Club: This one is adorable and hilarious. It’s a fantasy and comedy. The Pastel Kingdom has four children. The eldest, Maria, is 18, and so beautiful that forest animals follow her when she sings. The second oldest, Lorena, is 17, and so beautiful that flowers grow where she sleeps. The third child is prince Jamie, who is so beautiful that he is constantly GLOWING (literally.) And his twin sister, Gwendolyn, is the sweetest and perhaps most loved of all! The three sisters are happily engaged to the Plaid Princes. When Gwen meets her soon to be betrothed, though…. he finds her to be really, really, ugly. Gwen has to learn to love herself as she is with the help of a club for cursed princesses (and one prince who wants to change the club name desperately.) It’s hilarious. Someone swallows her fiance whole. Jamie can taste feelings through food and keeps accidentally violating HIPPA. Lorena beats the crap out of a bunch of clowns. Gwen keeps getting mistaken for an evil witch. There’s a really spoiled drunk llama named Laverne. Maria buys merch of her boyfriend’s fanclub. There’s an omniscient clam. It’s a glorious disaster. (Also that was what the screenshots I was losing my mind and spamming last night. I relate to the plaid guy on an eerie level. This one has INCREDIBLE character arcs and parallels and foreshadowing and details and AUGH)

Space Boy: This one is one of my all-time favorites, and I believe it deserves an award for it’s realistic character arcs and characters. I’d be convinced if you told me they were real people. Sci-Fi Romance. (A lot of romance. Not a particular favorite genre of mien it’s just like 70% of all Webtoons.) In the far future, humanity is exploring the furthest reaches of space using the freezing sleep thing (real thing, forgot name.) Amy lives happily on a mining colony in deep space, until her father loses his job, and she and her family are sent away from the colony, and everyone she knows, back to Earth, where she wakes up 30 years later (frozen sleep thing.) Amy is adjusting to life on Earth, the new technology, and trying to come to terms with the fact her best friend is now in her 40s and she’s missed it all in sleep. Amy’s identifying trait is synesthesia: to her, people have flavors to match their personalities! Well, everyone except a strange boy she meets a school, who refuses to speak to her, and doesn’t have a flavor, Oliver. Amy decides that she WILL find this kid’s flavor if it kills her, and manages to get herself roped in the most chaotic mystery involving ancient cults, alien artifacts, unsolved murders, a government conspiracy, and whether or not Oliver is actually who he says he is. It’s so sad but I love it so much and I want to send everyone to therapy. I don’t even like sci-fi usually so this was amazing for me.

Nomads: ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES. The concept is your stereotypical “there were five kingdoms after a war 100 years ago:” the Sun, Sea, Sand, Sky, and Snow kingdoms. To maintain the peace, traveling between the kingdoms is banned for average citizens. You may, however, choose to become a Nomad, and travel for a price: you can never have a permanent home. Lance of the Sea Kingdom REALLY doesn’t want to be a Nomad. However, his little brother Mikah goes missing, and Lance has to find him in one year (once Mikah turns 18 it’ll be impossible to find him.) It’s going well and dandy until some unfortunate circumstances result in him, his new traveling buddy Satra, and a magic talking cat-thing being mistakenly accused of kidnapping a prince. And now they’re wanted bounties. (This comic is HILARIOUS so many shenanigans and I love Satra so much.)

Castle Swimmer: Can’t reveal TOO much of this ‘cause spoilers but it’s a really really good story. It’s a fantasy romance too. In this society of “Mers” (merfolk), every kingdom has long awaited the day a mysterious, mythicaeing known as the Beacon arrives. He will grant each kingdom’s prophecy, be that granting them fortune or saving their lives. When the Beacon arrives, though, turns out he’s literally just some kid named Kappa who has no idea what he’s doing. Siren is the prince of the shark kingdom. They have a curse that will cause them to suffer and become covered in scars and eventually die. The only way they can break the curse is whenever the Beacon arrives—and Siren, as predicted, will kill him. The only problem is that Siren REALLY doesn’t want to be a murderer, and Kappa REALLY doesn’t want to die, and they both are pining HARD. 

Suitor Armor: This is a romantic fantasy but I like it because it doesn’t feel boiled down to JUST a “will they won’t they.” Fairies and humans have been at war for as long as anyone can remember, with heavy losses on both sides. A Lord rescues a child, a little girl named Lucia, to be his daughter, Kirsi’s, lady-in-waiting until Kirsi marries a nearby king. The only issue? Lucia is a fairy, and she and the Lord must hide that if she wants to live. After they’ve grown up, Kirsi and Lucia go to the nearby kingdom to prepare for the wedding, where Lucia meets their mage’s newest creation: an enchanted, sentient suit of armor named Modeus. And now we’re all aggressivley shipping a tin can with one of the coolest women ever. (And I LOVE the magic system in this… we don’t know everything yet, it’s being revealed as time progresses, but it’s amazing in my humble little opinion.)

Homesick: Recommending this one since you’ve read School Bus Graveyard! It’s almost a “sister series” in that the fanbases overlap lots and the creators have done collabs too! Disclaimer that it’s mature for a reason. It covers a lot of dark topics and is a HORROR FOR A REASON. School Bus Graveyard is incredibly dark, but it sort of eases you in to the terror while Homesick tosses you in like a flailing child. If you do choose to read it I can provide trigger warnings, though it may spoil some plotlines a bit. Rayne (my pfp!) wakes up on a rooftop with no memories at all and meets a boy named Samael, who quickly informs her that it’s the apocalypse. Cannibalistic creatures called murks roam the land, feeding on anything that makes eye contact. Rayne and Samael form a deal to survive, but things get really, REALLY messy when they encounter someone from Samael’s past and get wrapped up in something that might just be worse than the apocalypse. On top of it all, Rayne has noticed some strange things about herself, including terrible headaches that warn her of murks… (It’s so good I love it but good lord it gets dark. I really want to say more about it but the story doesn’t jump right into the main action or plot right away so I CAN’T WITHOUT SPOILING IT SOB.)

Okay limiting myself to six for now sheesh I typed a lot.

For questions about the Live and Learn au, do Blaze and Amy spend most of their time in the Sol dimension? Or do they get to switch between there and Sonic's dimension often?

That's actually an arc I was planning for them!!! I was supposed to be dropping lore about this but I've only posted this drawing about it (and i guess also this post that I forgot about lol) so I guess it's better if I just tell you about it here.

When they first moved in together, they lived in the Sol Dimention. Blaze insisted that it wasn't necessary but Amy was firm on it; it was better if they lived there due to Blaze's role as ruler of that place. So they lived there for a while.

Since Blaze was back to spending most of her time in the Sol Dimension, she was busier than ever, doing tasks that before would be passed down to someone else due to the princess' absence, but now that she was here, she did all of it. This meant that she barely got to spend time with her partner, and Amy was alone.

Being from a different dimension, she wasn't super familiar with the place, and even if she tried to go out and get to know everything and everyone, she still missed her home and her friends. Besides, being the princess' partner, everyone was way too formal with her, making their interactions feel less friendly, and more distant.

Blaze noticed this, and after they talked about it, they decided to move back to Amy's dimension. They would still visit the Sol Dimension pretty often, but now Amy was close to her friends again, and Blaze's less important tasks were passed down to someone else, so she was less busy and had more time to spend with Amy:)

What if Amy Rose had her own spin off??

With the release of Princess Peach: Showtime has got me thinking…imagine if we had gotten that similar experience for our fav pink hedgehog Amy Rose? Sure, you could make the argument that due to the bad reception of Shadow The Hedgehog (2005) when it was released indicated that Sega was not going to make any more sonic spin off games in the future (though I will defend that game for the entirety of my living existence because I whole heartedly loved it) but theoretically it could be a great concept to bring back because you could do so much with each character.

But in this case, I want to talk about the many ways of what I personally think could work if Amy had a spin off game.

1. Good Character Writing

Over the course of the Sonic franchise, there have been many interpretations of Amy some range from very bad to very good if you know what I’m talking about. If you want an in depth discussion of Amy’s evolution throughout the years read @ratrrriot post they do a great job of explaining it better than I ever could. But basically in short terms: showcase her love and compassion but is a fierce determined hero and willing to stand up for the people whom she cares about but retain both her bad qualities such as her stubbornness and so it would make feel more grounded and like a real person.

2. An Open World Format

Sonic Frontiers was a definite refresher for the format of Sonic games. The open world really helped how the open world is a great fit for Sonic games show casing how alive the star fall islands were and immersive gameplay experience can be. I know some people were mixed on that aspect but personally it was a welcome addition that helped with the story. In my mind, Amy would be going on her adventure led by her tarot cards as well as expanding her horizons and come across this magical and unknown land associated with love and kindness (one of Amy’s defining traits). The land would like some fantasy/ fairy tale inspired world with each level being more beautiful than the last and in a sense still being rooted into Sonic’s world with creative lore but with a girly twist on it one of the many things that definitely defines who Amy is and that some of the locations/ levels within the game could be off real life places or folklore.

3. Story

Sonic Frontiers and to an extent The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog were praised for being the first Sonic games in years to have a good story probably since Sonic and the Black Knight. Definitely can work if they have good writers. Amy would be in the game for obvious but maybe two or three more friends along for the ride too but having them be in the story instead of them just being in the background like Cream, Blaze and Silver or something? Have them develop into by Amy had impacted them in so many ways and how they want to return the offer. Explain how the fantasy world in the game came to be, the culture of it and their way of living, sacred treasures they may hold to keep the world in balance. Introduce characters from the fantasy world so you would feel more invested into the journey and having one of the inhabitants be the main antagonist an trusted ally to the team.

3. Costume Upgrades

Amy has had some very cute outfits upgrades most notably in Sonic Dash or Sonic Forces Speed Battle but you would have to unlock the outfits doing certain tasks or completing each level zones in the game that also help progress the narrative feeling as that they are essential. Again it doesn’t have to be the case but it would be a cool feature to have be put in the game as well as her friends getting costume upgrades too.

Again, this isn’t trying to force the game if it would happen. It’s just me ranting some of my ideas if an Amy Rose spin off game were to actually happen but I doubt it’ll be the case any time soon.

Blaze and Rouge hanging out and stealing stuff together in Murder of Sonic

ah, i love them so much. have never thought how these two would hang out, so this is gonna be fun!

"Give that back."

She looked at her as they both halted, looking kind of surprised with her request. "Give what back, darling?"

The other sighed in annoyance, she didn't know how much patience she had left in her. "The Sol Emerald, Rouge. I can sense them you know. You just stole one from me."

Visiting Sonic's world was always a delight, often hiding tons of surprises. And this trip did not differ at all. She wouldn't miss Amy's birthday party for the world (or the cake, since, in this dimension, they were absolutely delicious) but for a moment, she thought that was all there was. That this was just a birthday party. Amy's request to have them wear specific outfits seemed oddly specific but she supposed that this was how birthday parties worked in this world. Not that she ever had a proper, informal birthday party herself in her own kingdom, so how should she know? She was just following the request; disappointing Amy, no less on her birthday, was something she would despise to do. However, not much to her surprise, the party turned out to be something entirely different; a Mystery Game.

That didn't exactly make sense to her at first but she accepted it of course. Her friends seemed to like the idea so maybe she had to try it first before drawing a deduction. Sonic in particular was very excited about it and even explained to her how this was supposed to go, before getting wrapped up in a conversation with Vector. Her remaining quaries were answered by Amy herself. Like, the question of where she would be stationed.

She wasn't expecting to be partnered with Rouge. It made sense, given their 'lore cards', for both of them to be in the casino station, but she wasn't expecting it. Indeed, Sonic's world was full of surprises. Rouge didn't seem bothered by that, by the fact they barely knew each other or that she was a fire-weilding princess that could set her on fire any time of the day. On the other hand, she had a lot of thoughts regarding the matter. If anything, Rouge wasn't a complete stranger to her, which made things much harder to handle. They weren't friends, not really, but they weren't stangers either. And she could handle the latter group just fine, she'd practiced it lots of times in her own kingdom. But something in-between? Yeah, she definitely had her reservations about it.

If anxiety took the best of her as they were together, trying to find the best way to handle their social situation, she managed to hide it pretty well.

"'Steal', is a very strong word, Blazey. I'd prefer the term 'borrow'." Rouge crossed her arms as she smirked at her.

"Using the word 'borrow' explicitly states that you would return it eventually." Blaze countered, mimicking her actions while also raising a brow at her, almost in a challenging manner. "Would you?"

"Eventually." she winked. But at Blaze's unimpressed expression, her smirk faltered. "What?"

The cat only raised her palm as a response, standing perfectly still otherwise, still maintaining her poker face and really giving Rouge a run for her money.

"You're no fun, you know that?" Rouge let her arms fall.

"I know." Blaze smiled. "Now, the Emerald please?"

Rouge pouted, before taking the cyan-colored gem out of her glove to admire it, even for one last time. "Well, it was worth a shot."

"It definitely was." Was her reply as she got tossed the Sol Emerald, catching it without any problem. Rouge still aproached her immediately after that, holding her by the shoulder. That earned her a side-glance but she went on unbothered.

"Want to make this actually fun?" Rouge grinned at her, almost deviously, like she was planning something.

Blaze brushed her hand off and started walking again. "I don't think your idea of fun matches with mine." She simply stated. And while it was true, she had a feeling of what Rouge might be suggesting and she wanted to avoid getting entangled in such a case.

"Aw, come on, darling, what are we supposed to do for the next few hours?" she grabbed her by her shoulder again to make her stop.

"Follow Amy's request and keep her happy on her birthday party?" Blaze said with a perfectly even voice, trying not to sound too annoyed.

"That, but also, this is a party, so we can have fun at the same time." she blew her a kiss playfully, giggling at how Blaze scrunched her nose in response.

"Alright." She rolled her eyes. " What do you propose we do?"

"Hmmm...we could..." she tapped her finger on her chin while staring at the ceiling, trying to come up with an idea, "...search for the secret treasure of this train?"

Of course she didn't come up with this right now. "Secret treasure?"

"Well, yes!" She exclaimed, clearly excited. "Actually, I'm sure there are a lot more than just one lying around here, so you can also practice your 'treasure hunting' skills while we're at it!"

"Treasure hunting skills?" Blaze knew Rouge referred to herself as a treasure hunter but if said skills were the ones used to take the Sol Emerald away from her, then she doubted that they both understood the concept of treasure hunting in the same way. "You mean, you want me to steal something for you?"

"Find a treasure." She emphasized, as her hand flew to her face to massage her temples. "Man, it's so obvious that you hang out too much with Sonic. But even he knows to let loose from time to time."

Rouge noticed the blush on her cheeks and she smirked but managed to compose herself and not make any snarky comment about that. Maybe some other time. "Besides," she added, "we could do it by your own rules and return the treasure afterwards. I'm sure you'll be fine with that."

She was fine with that but she didn't know if she should be. If it was right to search the train and steal someone's property just to return it back not long after. Rouge's scrutinizing gaze, accompanied by her confident and smug smirk was all she needed to make her decision, even though she felt like this wasn't a choice she had a say in to begin with.

There was something behind that smirk, behind her expression that felt weirdly familar. Blaze couldn't exactly pinpoint what it was but it was a rare occurence that this ever happened to her, that she found a person whose mannerisms reminded her of someone else's, without her being able to name the other person.

With a sigh, she gave up, giving Rouge her first win against her. "Fine, let's see how treasure hunters enjoy themselves."

Blaze did really have fun that day, even if she hadn't expected it at first.

She snorted at the thought. Full of surprises.

(Warning, beating a dead horse probably, and I might be horribly wrong about several of these things, and if so please correct me)

Rewatching Sonic 06's Silver campain cuz of the recent Lythero video, I noticed a little something:

Did Blaze even do anything before she was thanos snapped out of existance in Silver's ending? I mean, a lot of characters already don't do a lot in the game (*cough* Amy *cough*), but Blaze in particular stuck out to me.

For one, in this game Blaze is in the future with Silver, but Sonic Rush AND Sonic Rush Adventure clearly state that Blaze is a princess from another dimension and the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, the latter game taking place in said dimension.

Brief summary of what Rush established for Blaze: she never had any friends before meeting Cream and Sonic, she's the princess of a dimension separate from Sonic's, she's the guardian of the Sol Emeralds (the Chaos Emeralds of that dimension) and she takes that role VERY seriously.

The first Sonic Rush game came out in 2005, that was Blaze's proper introduction. What is she doing 200 years into the FUUUUUTUUUURE (spongebob ref lmao). Sonic 06 recons not one, but two games that clearly establish Blaze's lore (one comes after, but it still applies for the first one) just so they could put her in this game.

But even though she had to be retconed into being here, she... kinda doesn't do much. Granted it's not as bad as Amy, Amy is still the biggest offender of "I really don't do jackshit in this plot" character in 06, but still.

Other than being Silver's only friend in the waste land that is the future and dying/being sent away/whatever it was at the end of his story, Blaze barely has a prescense. Hell, I don't think she ever interacts with Amy, the other playable character in the Silver campaign. TWO of the three playable characters in the Silver story NEVER meet each other onscreen even ONCE.

Hell, before Sonic's last level, she was right there and they don't even speak to each other. Not a single reference towards Sonic Rush or anything, the two may as well be complete strangers. Remember that Blaze was Sonic's main rival in that game? 06 sure doesn't.

(Also where was she before? Silver destroyed the robots in front of Sonic and once Kingdom Valley is over, she was just... there with them. Where was she before this cutscene? Was she with Silver the whole time??)

And I'm not gonna pretend that her "death" didn't make me cry like a little girl the first time, but now I'm like... she did nothing. She did literally nothing. She was there to be the girl that Silver liked and that's about it. Rouge and Omega are a lot more important to the plot, hell even Tails at the very least interacts with Elise and Eggman. I checked all the cutscenes in 06, and I can confirmed that Blaze never said a single word to anyone except Silver. No way you'd get much characterization from her if you hadn't played Sonic Rush prior to this game.

So the thing is: what's the deal with 06 Blaze? Is she a different character from Rush Blaze? Is she even still a princess? How does SHE know what a Chaos Emerald is when Silver doesn't if she lived in the same future that he has?? Did the time reset at the end of 06 rewrite her entire backstory into the one we get in the Rush games??

1: Princess Elise with pretty much a near-final design of what I want for her (she abolishes/renounces the monarchy of Soleanna for traumatizing her, urges the people to think for themselves, and becomes a wandering vagabond, not unlike Sonic, in order to figure out what she wants to do with her life and make new friends, also she has a sword)

2-3: Hypothetical IDW Sonic designs for Sally and Nicole. SEGA of Japan doesn’t like to use or reference the Freedom Fighters anymore b/c they didn’t have a hand in the characters’ creation (SEGA of America made up their own lore and called Ricky “Sally Acorn”), so I tried to make Sally as visually distinct from Ricky as possible. I made Nicole into a “computer mouse” because she legally cannot be depicted as a lynx in future official Sonic media due to that design belonging to Archie Comics (also the artist who made her lynx form is into NFTs, gross)

4-6: Look I know both Surge and Kit need a legit therapist before anything else but hear me out.......Tails is Sonic’s brother and Sonic has a tendency to smooch befriend a lot of his rivals so it’d make sense for Tails to pick up that habit lol

7-8: Hypothetical SCU designs for Amy and Rouge

9: Madonna was created during development of Sonic 1 to be Sonic’s lovesick damsel-in-distress girlfriend; she was scrapped due to the Genesis’s hardware limits and SEGA of America thinking the relationship was inappropriate. I tried to make her look closer to Sonic’s age and more adventurous, the Bulma to Sonic’s Goku since the series loves to make DBZ parallels lol. Amy looks up to Madonna like a big sister and they room together in Station Square.

Top 5 (or 10 or however many you wanna do) Sailor Moon story arcs?

I'll see if I can make it to 10 :'D

The whole 2nd half of Sailor Moon S (basically once they introduce Hotaru and onwards) is so good, I've been thinking about spending a whole day just to rewatch it.

Sailor Moon Stars episodes 1-6 (90's anime) - a neat little filler arc that ties up Queen Nehelenia's story (and giving her some new lore on the way!) and seeing all the senshi come together to beat her is good.

Live Action Sailor Moon, the whole thing. Peak magical girl tokusatsu.

2nd half of Sailor Moon season 1 (90's Anime) - Once Sailor Jupiter and the hunt for the rainbow crystals get introduced it always felt like a big shift in the tone. I like it.

Stars Arc (manga) - I cannot tell you the emotional impact these 11 chapters of shoujo comics did to preteen-age me. I cannot wait to finally see them animated with sound.

Dream Arc - both the manga and the SM Eternal movies, *banging fists on the table* Princess Dress Princess Dress Princess Dress

Sailor Moon R movie - the first Sailor Moon thing I owned in Japanese. I still stand by that if you ever want to introduce Sailor Moon to someone THIS is the taster you want to give them. Everything good about Sailor Moon is here.

Sailor Moon SuperS - I think this season gets too much hate, I love all the fun character moments in it. Also contains my favorite episode where the squad all tries to figure out who Chibiusa is dating. Ikuhara's humor is in full swing.

Sailor Moon R Ali & An Arc - Not just a filler arc, THE filler arc that will leave you weeping. Also full of fun character bits.

1st half of Sailor Moon season 1 - there's something deeply warm & nostalgic to me about the 1st chunk of episodes where it's just Usagi, Ami & Rei that I don't think has been or can be replicated. There's episodes I rewatch & I'm just transported back to 10 year old sleepovers trying to watch the dubs on late night anime channels

As the War of the Five Kings rages in Westeros, in the far north beyond the Wall, young princess of a forgotten kingdom will finally have the opportunity to break free from her father's watchful eye and try to live her own life.

When there are reports of Daenerys Targaryen, who is already making plans to claim the throne of the Seven Kingdoms, Amalthea's father asks her to find her cousin. However, there is more to this request than a desire to reunite the family.

However, before that happens, after leaving the fairy-tale kingdom of Acalida, Amalthea travels south, where after so many years of peaceful life, she collides with the brutal reality of the Seven Kingdoms. As soon as the voice of her heart speaks to her, she will have to pull herself together and show the other part of her character - reasonable, objective, cunning... And sometimes a bit mad and merciless to fit in a world full of intrigue and not lose her life.

And as a Queen from unknown lands... She will have to earn respect and trust of others.

Introduction + Prologue

Introduction:

Amalthea (Amy) Targaryen.

The princess of the kingdom behind the wall, Acalida.

Daughter of the local king Lored Targaryen (younger brother of Aerys II "Mad King" Targaryen) and Queen Umya (from the far east of Essos).

The eldest of the siblings, she has a sister and a brother - twins, ten years younger than her.

Until she had a younger brother, she was raised to be the next queen of the kingdom behind the wall and taught everything necessary to take that role.

So far, it seems that the title of "princess" is the most she can count on, but everything can change when she is allowed to go beyond the borders of her family kingdom…

Prologue:

She stopped crying for her friends a long time ago. So now, as she stood on the balcony and looked out at the courtyard, the snow slowly covering her very fair hair, she showed no emotion. Once she would have struggled, screamed, begging her father for mercy for her friend, but it never worked. Crying was all the more pointless, Lored only saw his daughter's weakness that way.

Therefore, she stood impassively, watching as the executioner beheaded her last friend, who was looking at her with a clear plea in his eyes. But she didn't do anything, didn't try to interrupt. When it was over, she simply turned around and walked back into her chamber, shedding her cloak.

Was it such a crime that she wanted to feel loved by someone the way a man loves a woman and to give someone her love?

Her father cared too much for her virtue, the only living friends she had were women. With time, she even began to cut herself off from male friends, so as not to accidentally expose any of them to death.

“Princess…” The maid wanted to undo her hair, but Amalthea only showed that she didn’t want it and started to leave.

“I'm going to see Istra.” She just said and left, closing the door behind her. She quickly made her way down the corridors and stairs. She went out into the courtyard, where her friend, who was practically like a sister to her, flew in soon. The dragon landed on the edge of the castle wall and leaned towards Amalthea.

They had grown up together, like her father and his dragon before. When Amy turned three, she already had an egg in her room, which eventually hatched into a small, dark dragon. They spent their lives together, although the girl still had her father's words in the back of her mind: “The dragon will always be wild, no matter how long you are with him”, but she didn’t want to remember those words. She didn't want to believe that Istra would be able to hurt her.

“Do you mind some flying?” She asked her, and only in response, the dragon put a wing near the girl, on which she could climb on her back. She had to admit that the dragon had grown much bigger than herself. But what did she really expect?

As soon as the girl grabbed the spikes on its back and leaned slightly, the dragon bounced off the ground and, waving its wings, moved towards the city walls (and it is worth mentioning that there were three of these walls due to the safety of the kingdom in the far north), behind which flew. It was nothing new that the land was all covered with snow, and the landscape didn’t change much throughout the year. However, there was something about floating freely in the sky and having everything under you. And to think that one word would be enough to set it all on fire...

A long way from the borders of the kingdom, they stopped for a moment, landing on one of the smaller mountains to be able to look at the landscape stretching below them in peace. Amalthea even descended for a moment and walked to the edge of the mountain to get a better look at it, feeling the snow crunch under her feet. The weather was even pleasant, it wasn't windy - and above all, there was no blizzard... - and the sun wasn't even covered by many clouds.

However, this weather made it possible to see long distances, which was not always good...

Looking out into the distance, Amalthea could clearly see a large group of surely not wildlings walking through the valley. It was something else... Their steps were slow, she couldn't see the tattered clothes and skinless skeletons from this distance.

“Istra, come…” She wasn't sure if she wanted to know who they were, but curiosity often got the better of her, and it was the same this time as well.

She perched herself back on the dragon's back, and it sprang down from above, spreading its wings. Soaring not very high above the ground, they were getting closer and closer to these strange creatures. The girl leaned out a little, only now being able to notice that these people should have been dead for a long time. She had heard of the undead several times, but even on her solo flights, she had never encountered them. When you were so close to them, it seemed almost impossible to count them all. The more so that they began to struggle at the sight of a potential threat.

“We have to go home…” She said quietly, and the dragon not only changed the direction of flight, but also increased it.

She had to return to the palace as soon as possible and tell her father what she had seen. Even if it means forbidding her to leave the kingdom's walls.

''So, not only do we have to deal with Dr. Eggman, but Dr. Starline as well?'' Minami rose an eyebrow, staring at Lucas just as he made the announcement. All of Team Neos was at the Taylor Workshop after Lucas had called them over to explain what had happened earlier in the day.

''That appears to be the case… unless you know someone else who uses a line of stars over a white and grey toothpaste as their logo,'' Warren said. Minami simply snorted in response.

''It is good that we can now connect a face and name to the perpetrator, but could you give us more information about who this Dr. Starline is?'' Knuckles asked, turning to Lucas. He had managed to recover from having his power drained via Chaos Surge, just like Sonic and Tails did.

''Well, Dr. Starline is another character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, mainly appearing in the comic books. He is known as a genius scientist and a deep admirer of Dr. Eggman-'' Lucas explained, only for Lily to interrupt him.

''In other words, he's a crazy Eggman fanboy who takes his admiration for his idol to another level,'' she said.

''Why would anyone be a fan of Dr. Eggman or admire his work?'' Silver asked. ''He had hurt a lot of people; what is there to admire?''

''Have you missed out the part where I described him as crazy?'' Lily asked. Silver shrugged, with Lily figuring that he was clearly not aware just how insane Starline could be.

''Dr. Starline being behind this does make sense, but the question is why he would attempt drain Sonic, Tails and Knuckles of their powers,'' Makoto said. Lucas, who was leaning against the work desk at the workshop, already had an answer.

''Speed, Fly and Power – those abilities make up the Power Cores in Sonic Heroes,'' he explained. ''In short, I think Starline is trying to create the Tricore, which would give him the abilities of speed, flight and raw power.''

''Wait, what?'' Sonic rose an eyebrow, his mind completely blanking out on that assumption. He was lying on the couch. ''How would that work? Moreover, why do you think he'd do that?''

''Well, it is similar to what his character did in the comics, so that was my first assumption,'' Lucas admitted in a sheepish tone, getting an unimpressed look from Sonic. ''But, it does make sense.''

''Do you think that Dr. Starline did it under Dr. Eggman's orders?'' Touka asked. Aside from the Irregulars, she had the least amount of knowledge in regards to any of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game and comic book lore.

''I don't think so-'' Lucas replied, with Minami then interrupting him.

''I'd be shocked if Starline isn't working with Eggman at this point. We might not know where he is, but I'm certain that the platypus has definitely figured out a way to find him,'' she said. ''It's like those stalkers who find little details in photos to locate the homes of celebrities and then break into their houses.''

''Sheesh…'' Silver rose an eyebrow, feeling a bit disturbed.

''Right,'' Lucas muttered, sighing. ''So, it would be smart to keep an eye out for both. We might get attacked any day.''

''I hope it won't be tomorrow, because Amy and I already have plans,'' Minami replied.

''What plans do you have?'' Shadow asked curiously, glancing at Amy. Amy smiled, tapping on her AR Visor and showing everyone a news article on the holographic screen.

''Minami and I have learned that the imperial princess, Sana Jai of the Surya Empire is coming to Neos City tomorrow for an official visit. Isn't that exciting?'' she said, clasping her hands. Her initial excitement quickly deflated when she saw the lack of reaction from the others. She puffed up her cheeks. ''Don't you guys have anything to say?''

''Having royalty from another country visit Neos City does sound interesting. But, it's not like you're going to meet her in person,'' Knuckles said.

''Maybe, but Minami and I'd still love to see her,'' Amy replied. ''Is nobody interested?''

''I am,'' Lily said. ''Knuckles and I don't have any plans for tomorrow, so we could go along with you.''

Knuckles nodded in argeement, with Minami and Amy then exchanging glances, looking deviously at the rest of the team.

''What about the rest of you guys?'' Minami asked.

''Do you want to join us?'' Amy asked, both of them looking at everyone in anticipation. Even Lily and Knuckles joined them. Lucas, Sonic, Warren, Tails, Makoto, Silver, Touka and Shadow exchanged glances with each other, clearly not looking too interested about this.

''No, thanks,'' Touka responded in a curt tone, glancing at Lucas. ''Shadow and I were only here to learn more about Dr. Starline.''

''If you don't have anything more to say, we'll be leaving,'' Shadow added, with Lucas shaking his head, and the two then leaving. Minami frowned as she watched Touka and Shadow leaving.

''I suppose it was expected from these two to just up and leave,'' she said, placing her hands on her hips and then turned towards the rest of the group. ''What do you guys say?''

''I'm sorry, but Warren and I had planned to examine those AR Field generators Dr. Starline had created,'' Tails replied, holding up one of the devices. ''We want to know how he had managed to manipulate them in such way that we were unable to exit them.''

''Considering how they had self-destructed, we'll be spending a good chunk of the day trying to fix them,'' Warren added. ''Therefore, we can't join you.''

''I see… Sonic, Lucas, what about you two?'' Amy asked curiously. Sonic sat up on the couch, exchanging glances with Lucas, both of them being unusually silent.

''Well… We'll be doing our own thing,'' Sonic responded, placing his hands behind his back. ''Sorry, Amy.''

Amy looked slightly disappointed, with her, Minami, Knuckles and Lily turning towards Makoto and Silver, with Makoto looking more nervous than Silver. ''So, that leaves you two…''

''Uhhh, why are you giving us those looks?'' Silver asked, a little confused.

''You're going to accompany us tomorrow, right, Silver, Makoto?'' Minami asked, smiling innocently. Makoto did not like the look she was giving him. Being childhood friends with her, he recognized it easily as the tone she'd usually use to get whatever she wanted. Silver, who had less experience with Minami's manipulative nature, had no idea what was coming at him.

''Uh, well…'' Makoto trailed off, with Minami narrowing her eyes, puffing up her cheeks. Makoto gulped in response. ''We don't have any plans for tomorrow, so I guess we could…''

''Great!'' Minami was suddenly all smiles and sunshine, while Makoto just sighed in resignation. Silver, while noting Makoto's anxiety, still remained confused in regards to what exactly Minami had done to make Makoto agree. He whispered to Knuckles.

''Why do I feel as if Makoto and Minami had an entire conversation in their heads?''

Knuckles snorted, arms folded across his chest, and smirked. ''From what I understand, it appears that you and Makoto only have the illusion of a choice. Makoto also doesn't appear to be someone who can easily stand up to people, especially Minami.''

Silver's expression fell, only for him to make a mental note to help his partner overcome his timidness. Once the conversation was done, everyone left the Taylor Workshop, Lucas and Sonic being the last ones to leave.

''I know I told Amy that we had plans for tomorrow, but you haven't really told me what those plans are,'' Sonic said.

''Admittedly, I didn't really plan anything. I had just figured that I should listen to the advice from Warren and Tails and suggest that we spend time together,'' Lucas admitted.

''Ah, I see. It's going to be a random adventure, then. I like that,'' Sonic replied.

''I didn't expect there would be so many people here,'' Lily commented on the large crowd that had gathered in front of the hotel where the imperial princess would be driven to. A good chunk of the crowd were news reporters and photographs, but there were also onlookers like them. ''It's not like this visit had been advertised as a city-wide event.''

''Still, Neos City is being visited by royalty from a different country, and that's not something that happens every day,'' Minami said.

''What importance does this country have?'' Knuckles curiously asked.

''The Surya Empire is famous for its rare spices, producing around 70% of it and exporting them to other countries. Without it, we wouldn't have food like curry-based meals,'' Makoto explained, only to narrow his eyes as he put on a thoughtful look. ''Unfortunately, the Surya Empire is also the country with the highest rate of piracy, especially since the empire also covers the archipelago and most of the trade is done via ships. There are many small and isolated islands where only a few people live, so the food, medicine and other necessities are delivered to them via trade ships.''

''I had no idea about that,'' Silver suddenly said, listening intently to Makoto's explanation. ''I thought that people just would flock to cities since that's where they can get food and other stuff, not stay on an isolated island.''

''To me, it sounds like those people made their life on the islands and wouldn't leave them so easily, even with the temptation of all the comfort that other settlements offer,'' Knuckles said.

''I see,'' Silver muttered, nodding in acknowledgement.

''I have read somewhere that, recently, the Surya Empire had begun dealing with piracy on a more systematic level. Something about finding a way to handle pirates the moment they get spotted,'' Amy added. ''I don't really know what they do specifically, though… Hey, look!''

The crowd turned to the street, all looking in anticipation at the limousine that arrived in front of the hotel, with some government officials waiting in front of it, including the mayor of Neos City. The driver got out, walking towards the back of the car and opened the door, but to the shock of the crowd, no one was there. Dumbfounded, the driver looked around the back of the limousine, with some of the officials joining them as he hastily explained to them that he did indeed drive the princess over here, but had no explanation for how she managed to vanish.

''Maybe the princess knows how to turn invisible,'' Knuckles commented in a snarky tone, folding his arms as the crowd started to get antsy and whisper. He could hear the rumors of a possible kidnapping spreading like wildfire.

''Do you guys really think she had been kidnapped?'' Silver asked his friends, having picked up on what the people around him were saying. The group just exchanged looks, unsure what to believe.

''I told you, this was a bad idea! I wouldn't have gone along with it if it wasn't my duty to protect you, Sana.''

''I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause any trouble, Blaze.''

Blaze the Cat sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose and supporting that arm with her other as she thought about the situation they found themselves in. Blaze was lavender-furred, anthropomorphic cat with gold eyes, a small black nose, and a white-furred muzzle. She had triangular ears with peach-colored canals on top of her head, two medium-length eyelashes on each side of her eyes, and a long tail with the end frayed and violet. Her fur was longer on each side of her head and sweeped slightly upwards. She had four plumes of hair with violet tips done up in a high ponytail with a red hair tie. She also had a red oval gem on her forehead, resembling a Bindi. For attire, Blaze wore a purple tailcoat with rose trim at the bottom, a gold collar, and white leggings. She also wore white gloves with fluffy cuffs and rose, high-heeled shoes with gray soles, white stripes, and fluffy cuffs, like her gloves.

The person Blaze was talking to was her partner, the Imperial Princess of the Surya Empire, Sana Jai, a 14-year-old teenager. She had long black hair and dark brown eyes, and she was wearing a purple ruffled short-sleeved top, a long red skirt with golden vine-like patterns, red pants and sandals. Her long bangs were held up on the back of her head with a golden clip. Sana had also tried to hide her identity under a huge brown cap and sunglasses, hoping that no one would recognize her. However, she did notice some people giving her weird looks and she was afraid that they would realize who she really is.

''We need to return back to the hotel immediately and explain the situation,'' Blaze told her. ''I'm sure they are worried about us and searching for us. It is our duty to return back and apologize for leaving, as well as proceed with the rest of the visit as planned.''

Sana sighed, taking off her sunglasses as she crouched down to be at Blaze's eye-level.

''I know that that is what we're supposed to do, but then the visit would turn into a working vacation instead of an actual vacation as I had planned. You know well that I agreed to this because I wanted to go out on my own, without being accompanied by a tons of bodyguards or follow any set route of visiting Neos City,'' she explained. ''Even my parents agreed to it.''

''Your parents only agreed because you volunteered me as your bodyguard,'' Blaze pointed out in a snarky tone. Sana smiled back in response.

''That is because you're the best. As the Blazing Guardian, your status is the same as that of the imperial princess. You are responsible, polite and formal, keeping track of your duties, and you are very self-reliant. Not to mention, they know just how close you and I are,'' she replied. Blaze looked flustered for a moment due to the barrage of compliments, but she quickly collected herself.

''Indeed, and that responsibility is why I followed you after you sneaked out of the limousine before it drove off. It is also why I strongly suggest that we return,'' Blaze responded. ''Don't forget, you don't know your way around Neos City. What if we get lost?''

''Don't worry, as long as we have my AR Visor and we know the name of the hotel, we'll find our way back. Absolutely nothing can go wrong,'' Sana assured her, pointing at her sunglasses and got up. Blaze still didn't look convinced.

''Sonic, wait up!''

''Didn't you say you wanted to test the limits of your hoverboard? Com'n, I can outrun you while blind!''

''Watch out!''

There was a skidding sound as a blue blur entered the narrow street, clearly not looking at all where he was going because he was looking back at his partner, and colliding with Sana. Both fell on the ground, with Sana hearing a crunching sound beneath her.

''Sana!''

''Sonic!''

Blaze quickly rushed towards Sana to help her up, shooting a glare at the blue hedgehog who was also sitting on the ground, rubbing his head, and was helped up by a teenage boy on a hoverboard.

''Okay, maybe that wasn't the best idea…'' Sonic muttered as he got up, only for Blaze to grit her teeth and her temper to flare up.

''Have you no eyes?! Watch our where you're running!'' Blaze yelled at Sonic, who flinched in response, his eyes wide as he saw sparks of ember forming around the cat in before him.

''I'm really sorry, I don't meant to collide with you two. Usually, I'm way better at keeping track where I'm going,'' Sonic explained. Blaze was still angry at him, but Sana shook her head.

''Don't worry, I'm fine. It's not like you did it intentionally,'' she said, looking around for the sunglasses she had dropped, only to see them broken on the ground. ''Oh, no…''

She quickly picked them up, noting how one of the temples broke off and the glass itself was cracked up. Blaze, who saw the broken AR Visor, sighed, rubbing her temple in exasperation, '''Absolutely nothing can go wrong', you said. Why do I have the feeling that something in this vast universe heard you and decided to play a cruel prank on us?''

''I'm really sorry for what happened! Maybe I can pay for the repairs?'' Lucas told them.

''Don't worry, it's fine. I have a spare AR Visor, although not currently on me,'' Sana responded, sweatdropping as she realized that now she had nothing that could help her find their way back to the hotel. ''Although, I guess our vacation is cancelled.''

Lucas observed her and the ARNav next to her carefully, well aware that the cat ARNav was another Sonic character. ''I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Lucas Kinomoto, and my friend over here is Sonic the Hedgehog. Who are you?''

''Nice to meet you, Lucas. I'm Sana Jai, and this is my partner, Blaze the Cat-'' Sana said, only to slap her hand over her mouth, while Blaze gave her an alarmed look. They were supposed to be incognito! However, going by Lucas and Sonic's reaction, who were more confused by Sana's alarmed look, the two didn't seem to even recognize who Sana was, with Lucas having only focused on Blaze.

''If you're here on vacation, we could show you around,'' Sonic suggested. Blaze didn't look too happy about the suggestion, as she was a bit suspicious of the two, especially with Lucas sneaking glances at her, but Sana seemed to be more appreciative.

''Really, that would be great!''

''Wait a sec, are you the imperial princess of the Surya Empire?'' Lucas suddenly asked, finally connecting the dots. Sana froze, realizing that her idea of going around incognito wasn't going to happen.

''Y-Yeah,'' she admitted.

''I-I'm sorry for not recognizing your name, Princess, I didn't mean to-'' Lucas said sheepishly, fearing that he offended her, but Sana shook her head.

''You don't have to get formal with me. I blew my own cover after all,'' she said.

''I suppose that now, we don't have any choice but finally return to the hotel,'' Blaze said. Sonic placed his hands behind the back of his head.

''Or you could come along with us. The offer still stands,'' he said.

''Really?'' Sana was surprised, smiling when she saw Sonic nodding.

''Yeah, why not? You said you were here on vacation and you clearly don't want to go back to whereever you're staying. Just tell us where you want to go, and we'll bring you there,'' Sonic replied, pointing with his thumb at himself. ''After all, I know Neos City like the back of my hand.''

''What do you think, Blaze? I'd love to accept the offer,'' Sana said. Blaze gave her a look of disapproval, having not gotten a good first impression of Lucas and, especially, Sonic, but she knew that this meant a lot to Sana, and she herself broke a bunch of rules just to make her happy. At least it seemed that the two weren't going to rat them out to the authorities.

''I guess we don't have much of a choice,'' Blaze sighed in resignation.

''Great!'' Sana exclaimed happily, turning to Sonic and Lucas. ''We would love to go sightseeing. Are there any places or landmarks you frequently visit?''

Sonic and Lucas exchanged glances, and then nodded in response.

Ferra leaned against the wall and, together with Metal Sonic, observed Dr. Starline as he followed Dr. Eggman, commenting on the latter's latest projects, praising his genius, acting like a child in a candy store. Fortunately, aside from a couple of snide remarks, Starline ignored them, focusing more on his conversations with Eggman, and Eggman himself was too busy with his next project to pay any attention to them. Ferra and Metal Sonic knew well what he was up to and that they, for now, weren't needed, so instead of hanging around at the base while doing nothing, they decided to leave. So far, the only person noticing them leaving was Orbot.

''Where are you two going?'' Orbot asked them as they walked past him.

''If Dr. Eggman asks, we went to antagonize Sonic… or something like that,'' Ferra responded. Metal Sonic glanced at her curiously. Admittedly, he was always for fighting Sonic, especially after his latest victory, but he had to wonder whether Ferra had anything specific on mind.

''I'm surprised that the hoverboard is capable of holding both of our weights,'' Sana said, standing behind Lucas, her hands wrapped around his torso.

''Let's just say that my hoverboard has a bunch of modifications a close friend of mine made,'' Lucas replied. ''That also includes an accelerator that makes it way faster than commerical hoverboards.''

''Unfortunately, it's still not fast enough to match my speed,'' Sonic commented, racing beside them. Next to him was Blaze, using her fire powers to propel herself forward and keep up with him with ease.

''Why have you decided to help us? I understand repaying Sana for her broken AR Visor, but still, you have no obligation to go this far,'' Blaze asked. Sonic gave her a confused look for a moment, then smirked.

''What are you talking about? We're here to have fun!'' he replied. Blaze was genuinely stunned by his carefree response, but still followed him as they went through Sentoraru. Both Sonic and Lucas had either pointed out or told them about all the important locations at Neos City, and Blaze knew that she and Sana wouldn't be able to see all of them, as they were here only for a day. ''Next stop is Solar Stadium, where everyone gathers for hoverboard races. Do you guys participate in hoverboard races?''

''No,'' Blaze replied in a blunt tone, shaking her head. ''We don't have the time to participate in sports events.''

''While we do have hovercraft technology, hoverboard racing also isn't as popular in our home country as it is here,'' Sana added. Lucas and Sonic exchanged glances, and just snorted in amusement, well aware that one of their friends would be quite disappointed to hear that. Once they arrived at Solar Stadium, Sana got off Lucas' hoverboard, amazed by how many people there were. Blaze stood close to her partner, keeping an eye out for anyone suspicious and not wanting to draw too much attention to themselves, only to get startled and Sonic ran ahead towards two people, greeting them and dragging them towards their little group.

''Blaze, Sana, these are my friends; Shadow and Touka!'' Sonic quickly introduced them. Sana waved at the two, both her and Blaze noting that neither Touka nor Shadow seemed to be keen on socializing.

''Wait, are you the…?'' Touka trailed off when she saw Lucas shaking his head, clearly not wanting her to say anything.

''Sonic and Lucas had been showing us around Neos City and suggested visiting the Solar Stadium,'' Blaze explained. ''I assume you two are hoverboard racers.''

''You're right, but someone else is currently hogging the track we wanted to race on,'' Touka said, slightly bitter. As if on cue, Chase and Jet emerged from the AR Field, shouting in victory. ''They've been at it for the past two hours.''

''Why don't you confront them about it?'' Blaze asked.

''We've actually been thinking about challenging them, but we'd prefer to wait until their arrogance has reached its peak to topple them,'' Shadow explained, with both Sana and Blaze giving them a confused look. Shadow then turned to Sonic, not looking all too happy. ''Jet wants to challenge you to another race.''

''What have you told him?'' Sonic asked.

''That I'm not your secretary and to ask you in person,'' Shadow growled, with Sonic sweatdropping, rubbing the back of his head.

''I'll keep that in mind.''

''This is the Taylor Workshop!''

After having left Solar Stadium, they passed through Erekiteru and went towards Eas, as Sonic suggested that they show Sana and Blaze the suburbs, and he also wanted to introduce the two to his other friends. They entered the workshop, with Warren and Tails being surprised at the newcomers.

''Uh, hello?'' Tails got up, turning towards Sana and Blaze. Before he could say anything, Sonic quickly got between them to introduce each other.

''Sana, Blaze, this is my little buddy, Tails, and this is Warren, Lucas' childhood buddy. Tails, Warren, these are Sana and Blaze.''

''Nice to meet you,'' Warren said, him and Tails shaking hands with the two, only for their eyes to widen as they recognized the imperial princess. ''Uh, I have so many questions right now…''

''Sonic and I kind of ran into Sana and Blaze, who are on vacation, and we agreed to show them around,'' Lucas quickly explained.

''I see. Do you guys know that there is a rumor going around on social media about you two being kidnapped?'' Warren said, glancing at Sana and Blaze. Blaze's eyes narrowed and she looked at her partner, who just grinned back sheepishly.

''I… I didn't expect that things would blow up like this,'' she admitted. Blaze sighed, folding her arms across her chest.

''I had told you from the start that we should've returned back. It is obvious no one has been informed that you are perfectly safe as long as you are with me,'' she said.

''What do you plan to do now?'' Sonic asked them. ''We have just arrived in Eas, and we haven't even shown you Kita, Souto and Westoru. And that's not even covering what lurks at Infinity Forest.''

''Honestly, I wish I could see more of Neos City, and I had hoped that we would have more time, but Blaze is right. I thought that I'd be able to return in time, but now I'm worried that, if they decide to inform my parents, my disappearance might cause an international incident,'' Sana replied in a somber tone. ''I really hadn't been thinking how my actions would affect others. I'm so sorry, Blaze.''

''Sana…'' Blaze looked at her partner, her ears drooping slightly as she felt genuinely sorry for her. Sana had always discussed how she wanted a day off, not only for herself, but also for Blaze. ''I understand that we haven't had the opportunity to spend any time together because of my own duties to the Surya Empire and its people. You had to literally drag me to this 'vacation' while assuring me that things would be fine, and instead of trying to enjoy myself for your sake, I was just berating you. I apologize for my behavior.''

''Don't worry about it,'' Sana replied. ''I should've listened to you, and now, I need to take responsibility for my actions and tell everyone there was no kidnapping and that I just ran off.''

''If you want, I could come along and tell everyone that this was my idea,'' Sonic suddenly said, with everyone looking stunned by his suggestion.

''You know that you're going to get yourself into a lot of trouble,'' Blaze told him in a serious tone.

''Don't worry, I don't mind playing the bad guy, especially if it's for the sake of someone else,'' Sonic replied, giving her a confident smile. Blaze blinked, genuinely shocked by how audacious, yet nonchalant Sonic was. This was no small matter, yet he treated it like it was no big deal. Not to mention, she and Sana have just met Sonic and were still strangers to him, but he treated them like they were longtime friends. It really baffled her.

''You… don't have to do anything,'' Blaze muttered, raising her voice as she gave the blue hedgehog a determined look, ''I am the Blazing Guardian, and I should be the one to-'' Blaze got cut off by her own stomach growling. She blushed, her eyes darting downwards as she didn't even realize just how hungry she was until now.

''I don't think we ate anything since we had arrived,'' Sana noted.

''Do you guys like chili dogs?'' Sonic asked, with Sana and Blaze giving him a surprised look. ''I know a really good vendor, but unfortunately, his chili dog stand is aaaaaaaaall the way back at Westoru, the western side of the city. As a matter of fact, I think he might be at Eden Botanical Garden. I know it is quite far, but it's worth for the food alone.''

Lucas furrowed a brow, well aware what Sonic was up to, with the blue hedgehog waiting for an answer from Sana and Blaze. Fortunately, both have caught on.

''Well, I don't think we could go back on an empty stomach. I might faint from the lack of energy,'' Sana said, glancing at Blaze.

''As your partner, I cannot allow that to happen. I suppose that we could take you up on your offer,'' Blaze added, a small smile on her lips. She knew that she was bending, if not even breaking the rules here, but her duty was always towards the people of Surya Empire, and Sana's happiness and safety was her current priority. Sonic, in turn, just gave them a thumbs up.

''I really wonder what happened to the imperial princess,'' Makoto muttered. ''I hope she's fine.''

He and Silver were walking through Eden's outside garden near the small lake, having left Minami, Amy, Lily and Knuckles earlier after the whole ''disappeared princess'' fiasco. Silver gave him an encouraging smile.

''I'm sure they'll find them. From what I've seen, everyone is on the case,'' he replied. ''Speaking of case, I noticed that Minami really intimidated you.''

''Eh?'' Makoto was stunned by the sudden change in direction in their conversation. However, he quickly caught on, lowering his head. ''Well, Minami can be a really intimidating person, and while we are childhood friends, she would easily drag me into things I'd stay clear off.''

''If you want, I could help you learn how to stand up for yourself,'' Silver said, clenching his hands into fists and giving him a determined look. Makoto snorted, feeling a strange sense of warmth spreading through his chest.

''Don't worry about me. I know Minami long enough to know how to handle her,'' Makoto assured him.

''Perhaps you should listen to Silver, for your own sake.''

Both Makoto and Silver suddenly looked up, only to be shocked to see Ferra and Metal Sonic standing on the other end of the clearing. ''Ferra! Metal Sonic! What are you doing here?!''

''Don't tell me that we're banned from entering Eden,'' Ferra said in a snarky tone, with Makoto and Silver shooting them a glare.

''Last time you were here, you almost drowned Sonic!'' Silver shouted, glaring at Metal Sonic specifically. Metal Sonic just gave them a cold look.

''Speaking of Metal's inferior clone, where is Sonic?'' Ferra asked.

''None of your business!'' Makoto growled.

Suddenly, Metal charged forward, grabbing Silver by his chest fur and slammed him against a nearby tree. Silver cried out in pain, but then quickly used his psychokinesis to grab Metal Sonic and throw him away. However, Metal Sonic manage to charge up mid-air and fire an energy blast at Silver. Silver held up his hand, creating a barrier to block the attack. He then used his psychokinesis to fly towards Metal Sonic, but the latter started to rapid fire smaller energy blasts at Silver as he did several quick charges in succession.

Fortunately for Silver, those energy blasts were blocked by a stream of fire. All four of them turned to the source, that being Blaze holding up her hand and judging the situation before her. She was accompanied by Sana, Lucas and Sonic, the latter holding a chili dog in his hand.

''This is a botanical garden, not a battle field,'' Blaze stated, glaring at both Metal Sonic and Silver. ''I won't let you ruin it.''

''W-Wait, I was protecting Eden!'' Silver quickly replied, trying to explain the situation, only to see Metal Sonic suddenly being laser-focused on Sonic, who was still munching on the chili dog. Metal Sonic then charged at his counterpart, only for Sonic to smirk and throw the chili dog up in the air, then quickly spindashed at Metal Sonic and knocked him back, then returned and caught the chili dog.

''Hmmm, what was the rule again? No fighting for an hour after eating?'' Sonic said, giving Metal Sonic a mocking look. Metal Sonic's red eyes flared up as he glared daggers at Sonic, who finished his chili dog.

''That's the rule for swimming,'' Blaze told him in a deadpan tone, sweatdropping. What is with this attitude?

''I was just riling Metal Sonic up. Don't you also do some pre-fight banter?'' Sonic asked.

''….No?'' Blaze raised an eyebrow, with Silver landing next to them.

''I don't think we know each other. My name is Silver,'' Silver introduced himself.

''I'm Blaze, and I think we can do proper introductions later,'' Blaze said, her, Silver and Sonic turning towards Metal Sonic, who appeared to be ready to take on all of them. Ferra, on the other hand, looked curiously at the cat ARNav.

''I see… So, you guys found another Irregular from the Sonic video games,'' she said. ''You must be so proud of yourselves.''

''What are you talking about?'' Sana asked. Admittedly, she didn't really have the time to play any video games, so she was clueless in regards to Ferra's comment.

''Look, if you want to fight, we'll fight. If you want to talk, then at least invite us to a coffee or something,'' Sonic replied. Ferra furrowed a brow, staring at the three and calculating her and Metal's chances. It was a three against one battle, something both her and Metal Sonic were aware of, and there was no way Sonic's friends wouldn't help him. It was obvious they were at a disadvantage, even if they used Chaos Surge.

''Metal!'' Ferra called out, with Metal Sonic rushing towards her, both of their arms outstretched. ''Chaos Surge!''

Lucas and Makoto frowned as they saw the powered-up Metal Sonic charging up rapidly for another energy blast, firing it at them before they could even react with a counterplan of their own. However, Blaze rushed straight towards Metal Sonic, clueless about what the Chaos Surge actually did to him. She put her hands together just as Metal Sonic fired the energy blast, countering with a blast of fire of her own. Her eyes widened in shock when Metal Sonic's attack overpowered her own.

''Watch out!''

There was an explosion, with smoke covering the area. Sonic dashed into it, trying to find Blaze, only to see her being held bridal-style by Silver, who managed to get in-between her and the explosion and put up a barrier that was strong enough to endure the blast, before breaking apart.

''Blaze, are you okay?'' Silver asked her as he put her down.

''I am, but- what was that? That attack was way stronger than before,'' Blaze said. She and Silver turned to Sonic, who was looking at where Metal and Ferra stood earlier.

''It looks like it was just a distraction. They didn't want to fight all three of us,'' Sonic told them.

''I assume this wasn't your first encounter with them,'' Blaze said. Sonic placed his hands on the back of his head, smirking.

''You don't even know half of the story,'' he replied.

''I can't believe that you're fighting pirates all by yourself, Blaze,'' Amy said, holding a cup of tea.

''Ensuring the safety of the Surya Empire is a duty I have chosen, and while it may be rough at times, I won't back down. Fortunately, I do have support from a friend of mine, Marine, when at seas, and when at home, Sana is the one who makes sure I don't overwork myself,'' Blaze said, glancing at her partner, who just smiled in response.

After the earlier incident with Metal Sonic and Ferra, Blaze and Sana had finally returned to the hotel to explain the situation to the authorities and official, and managed to negotiate having a quiet afternoon tea at Eden with the whole of Team Neos. Minami, Amy, Lily and Knuckles were quite excited to meet them, albeit with Knuckles being more restrained in his reaction. Warren and Tails had also arrived after Lucas made a call, and nobody had any clue how they managed to convince Touka and Shadow to join them, but they were there, mostly listening to the conversation. The conversation itself mainly consisted explaining Blaze, who also turned out to be an Irregular, her origins from the Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure video games, the concept of Chaos Surge and Team Neos' battle against Dr. Eggman. On Blaze's end, she explained that she acted as a security system for the islands surrounding the mainland, going on missions to protect trader ships from pirates or hunting pirates down personally.

''Dr. Eggman sounds like a menace,'' Sana commented.

''We can handle him. So far, all of his attempts at taking over Neos City ended up in a failure. He has yet to gain a victory over us,'' Knuckles replied.

''However, we have a feeling that he's planning something again, since an Irregular named Dr. Starline may have joined him,'' Tails added.

''Do you guys think that's why Metal Sonic and Ferra appeared in Eden?'' Silver asked.

''I believe that Ferra called for a tactical retreat. After all, you had told us that they were were searching for Sonic specifically,'' Lucas said.

''I wish Blaze and I could help you against Dr. Eggman. However, we will be flying tonight back home,'' Sana said. ''I hope that next time we'll manage to get more than one free day.''

''Next time, you should also be more transparent about your reasons for coming to Neos City,'' Shadow suggested. Sana smiled sheepishly.

''I'll keep that in mind,'' she replied.

''Perhaps, it would be possible for all of you to visit us at the capital?'' Blaze suggested.

''Really! That would be great!'' Minami and Amy exclaimed in unison, their eyes sparking with joy. As the conversation at the table continued, Sonic glanced at Blaze, who calmly took a sip of her tea, trying to relax even though she knew that a lot of work was waiting for her once she returned back home.

''I hope you enjoyed your visit here, even with all the ensuing chaos,'' he said. Blaze placed her cup on the coaster, her eye-lids lowering as she appeared to be in deep thought.

''I suppose it could've been less hectic, but it didn't make it less interesting. I hope we will meet again sometime in the future,'' she said, gazing at Sonic, with small, but warm smile spreading on her lips.

This is one of the nicer facts, but it's still good: both of Sonic's romantic foils have at least one media where they break up with Sonic and end up in wlw/nblw relationships.

First is Sally Acorn, idk how well-known she is, but in the 90s cartoon and comics she was the princess-turned-resistance-leader. (She's pretty cool.) granted it's not like CANON canon but this was like 2012. not to mention some fans would be pissed if sally was officially going out with someone other than sonic. the writers knew what they were doing though.

Then there's Amy Rose, who in the British comics is just. I mean look at her.

After the official comic ended there was a fanmade continuation, but it had some of the original writers on board including one who helped write this.

tbh sonic's just the definition of "having so much aroace swag you become someone's comphet crush by default". that mixed with the fact that sega is really strict on not having romance nowadays and yet there are two canonically gay couples in the current comics.
