please imagine Graves dipping into Shepard's funds to take the Shadows on vacation. Shepard can spare a couple hundred thousand to give them all a few days off (that's how Graves justified it, at least).

it's this place in the Maldives. it floats! it takes a couple of seaplane trips to get everyone out there, but once everyone arrives? the whole place is packed with your teammates. a paradise packed with Shadows.

somehow, Graves managed to get a private beach house just for you and him. you feel a little badly for the Shadows who had to cram themselves into another house for it to happen, but knowing them they probably don't really care. that's the fun thing. you all love each other (everyone just knows that you and Graves love each other a Little Bit More than the others).

it's a taste of the high life for everyone. living in the lap of luxury for a few days. for you, most of it is spent cuddled up with Graves despite the heat.

"you're comfy," Graves hummed, nuzzling into your chest. "yes, and you're hot. literally," you had grunted, snickering a little under your breath, "Phil, sweetheart, it's nearly 90 degrees out here, and you wanna cuddle?" all he did was sigh contentedly and mumble, "you know ya' love it." you really couldn't say he was wrong as you wrapped your arms around him and drifted off a little with him.

the best part of the beach house was the fact that there wasn't a roof over the bedroom. it let all the cool night air fill the house and the sounds of waves around you lulled you both to sleep each night.

Graves brought his knees to his chest and smiled as he looked up at the sky hanging overhead. "what was that thing you always quote again, baby?" he murmured, completely entranced. "what," you asked, "'mostly void, partially star?' do i say it that much?" "kinda, yeah," he admitted with a soft laugh. "m'not complaining though. s' pretty." you gave him a cheeky smile and purred, "not as pretty as you, cowboy." he just shoved his hand into your face and snorted, pushing you back a bit. "oh god, 'cowboy.' are ya' really gonna start callin' me that now?"

it's so oddly domestic that it makes you both a little heartsick. you've known each other a while, but you still feel so overwhelmingly in love. that dumb, sappy puppy love that neither of you got to have when you were younger.

honestly, you could spend the rest of your life just like that. you, and Graves, and your massive number of idiot kids who are also your soldiers.

I still can't believe that I was able to meet Bojan, Nace and Jan last weekend (how is it already a week since Malmö OVO) :'D

They were so freaking humble and easy to talk to?!? 🥺🥺🥺

Bojan and I 'are you'ed each other for at least half a minute xD The love is really stored in the Bojan - the way he just gives you his entire attention when you talk to him OVO Plus he remembered my Häärijä cosplay from Helsinki, let me die happy now 😭🥺

Nace is such a lovely turtle dad proudly talking about his babies (I can relate to how much he talks with his hands) and his laugh is even more contagious in person 🥹 Loved that we in Gothenburg ended up wondering over the question 'what is each JO members signature picture pose' together; Nace and I showing off the Jan pose for the last picture x'D

Speaking of Jan, the poor boy had lost his beanie in Gothenburg (not pictured) so he had a scarf on his head :'3 he too was very nice talking to and me and another dane managed to spread the 'please come to Denmark' propaganda 😂

Jan and Nace both got little 2 min. pen doodles from me that I drew with frozen fingers and in a rush (didn't know how long they'd stay) and bless their heart for being genuinely happy to receive them :'D Nace did also get a second Malmö sticker just so I could see his reaction x'D (I'd sent Bojan off with gifts to all the boys during soundcheck and Nace confirmed he had gotten his and it was on his laptop I believe :'3 <33)

Was Seraphine Supposed to be Piltover's Jinx?

I think it's really interesting that on a meta level, Jinx and Seraphine are near complete opposites. I'm not even talking about the punk/pop, blue hair-pink eyes and pink hair-blue eyes contrast they've got. Both champions follow similar development beats that led to very different results. Let's compare the debut of these two champions. Jinx releases with a music video, the first of its kind done by Riot/Fortiche for a champion, just because they could. Before Jinx's official release, her debut was teased a with a clever marketing campaign where she vandalized the pages of related champions like Vi with her graffiti. With Jinx’s release was also a cleaner introduction of Zaun's aesthetic shift into punk street fashion that later champions like Ekko and Zeri would take on as well, without it being too jarring. By now it's inarguable to say that Jinx has not just been well received as a flagship champion for the region, but through Arcane, has become critically acclaimed.

Seraphine has a much messier history. You can argue she was created to be an idol champion before a Piltovan champion, hence why her design doesn't really match with Piltover's aesthetics. Seraphine debuted as a part of KDA, a pre-existing LoL virtual band, and her release was marketed with a months long interactive social media campaign. In the end, all it did was give Seraphine's character more negative attention to how tone deaf Seraphine's story actually was. Seraphine as a champion had to have her story rehabbed and slowly gain more positive attention from lol fans over time.

Even on a narrative level Jinx and Seraphine are trying to accomplish two very different things coming from divergent backgrounds. Now that Arcane's canon, we can say that Jinx is an orphan whose parents died for better conditions for Zaun. Years later Jinx ensures the full separation of the two city-states by kickstarting the war between the two.

In Seraphine's original story, she's born in Piltover to Zaunite parents that sold everything to make sure their kid has a chance for a better life. Seraphine wants to use her music to unite the two cities, but to do what exactly? What does unity mean when it's not between equals? Zaun broke off from Piltover for a good reason, and I can't see many eager join hands with them.

After all these years Jinx's character and story became further elevated and enmeshed in Riot's lore and Zaun's worldbuilding, but Seraphine's in limbo as her story will have to be reworked again to account for Arcane (tho thay might be welcome because it wasn't that great to begin with).

didn't want to put this rant in the tags of that last post but honestly i feel like a lot of people hate toshiro disproportionately compared to what he actually did in-story. and if we're being real it's most likely because of racism

unpopular opinion i think but i’m sad they didn’t stick with the cold, calculating, but calm wesker. it honestly just doesn’t fit him seeing him get impulsively angry at shit he wouldn’t have gotten angry at in re4 or uc

like he’s this character who has really deep lore and trauma, who has seen the worst of the worst, does bad shit, but is also calm and quick to think of solutions when things go wrong

in his newer iterations it just feels like that part of him is gone? like he just kinda gets angry (ahem re5) and we never really see his quick thinking. it almost feels like he’s so dedicating to his plan he doesn’t want to think of other options and it feels like he doesn’t. sure, you could argue that he’s a lil more crazy in re5, but 3 years ago that fucker didn’t beat around spencer despite him using him his entire life. but all of a sudden when it comes to uroboros he wants to get all cocky and just let his guards do all the work which clearly doesn’t work.

if this were like.. any other wesker iteration he would’ve thought to maybe.. i don’t know, do something smarter instead of letting all his soldiers die? wesker took down an entire umbrella base in russia by himself to get all of umbrella’s files but all of a sudden he’s too lazy to kill 2 people who he could impale in a second when they clearly threaten his plans? is he stupid? yeah probably lol

i'm going to be honest, i have no idea for any events in the sekai swapped leaders au other than tsukasa being forced to actually go to school in person because a student hacked the online school website/program/whatever and now it's down until the situation is resolved.

since kanade is in wonderlands x showtime in this au, she would be going to school in person since she doesn't have the need to compose 24/7. tsukasa on the other hand....

oh well, at least he can finally meet amia (or well, mizuki) in person since kamiyama was the closest school to him. the event would focus around him and his struggles about adjusting to in person school again and what happens in there after being online for so long. also having to adjust to not composing 24/7 or eating cup noodles for every meal. he can cook but it takes his time from composing.

he does meet rui, nene, kanade, and emu personally though. i'm still deciding if kanade goes to miya with emu or kamiyama. maybe he can reconnect with an old friend while he's there...

at least the lie he tells saki about going to school isn't a lie now.
