Not to virtue signal to hard but i think its so weird that even on tumblr the "x is an abuser cus he ate the sentient toast" people. The most progressice people even, will try to act like Vision wasnt an innocent alltruistic sentient person. They will go to bat for Wall e or their roomba but an actual organic being with individuality is just "the avengers failed cus they didnt offer up a human sacrifice because fuck you if you are a robot".

And i keep seeing "wanda enslaved a whole town for 2 kids that didnt exist" like a) wanda wasnt a victim of her own power and her kids didnt exist. Like its gunna be so weird in young avengers when one of thr characters has the crown of "yea it was fucked up his mother wanted him to be alive".

And i dont buy they believe this. Its just thr mcu is mainstream qnd in their mind represents disney and corporation but "human beings dont deserve to live if they werent born or human enough" is such a weird way to rail against a corporation.

Recognizing the fact that wanda horribly violated a whole town and giving up her family was the right thing doesnt mean she did it on purpose( especially in a genre known for its "i accidentally nuked a building with my powers"). and that mrs "every single member of my family was killed in front of me and i had to do the last one myself" didnt have a right to feel emotions about giving up her family

Coalition means you have to work with other groups of people to achieve a common goal. Those who insist on perfection and ideological purity set themselves up for disappointment. If you demand all or nothing in politics you are far more likely to end up with nothing.

No, this isn't Donald Trump characterizing immigrants as criminals. It's Kamala Harris responding to the question "Should ICE exist?". Not many years ago. Just in March of 2018.

So when she says she opposed the Obama administration's mass deportations, she is lying.

In 2008 as San Francisco's district attorney she supported legislation to report undocumented youth to ICE, whether or not they were guilty of any crime.

All anyone has to do is look at the self proclaimed "top cop of California's" record as AG.

Oh also she arrested homeless women for truancy. They couldn't manage to get their kids to school, so she jailed them, separating child from parent.

I didn't vote for her for senator. And I sure as hell won't vote for a lying opportunist for president.

She sounds tough and smart, but she's no progressive. Not really. Even though she says it.

It reminds me of Obama. I was all in on Obama's hope and change message. And then one of the first things he did in office, after months of campaigning on bringing the troops home from Afghanistan? He announces at the 2009 state of the union, we're deploying 17,000 troops to Afghanistan.

I am ready for a real change, not another spineless politician promising change.

Hey, Latine here! Hope you don't mind my throwing 2-cents into the conversation. (For the sake of it, I'm going to use the word Latinx, because its the most commonly thrown around, as opposed to Latine) to be perfectly honest, aside from self-identifiers... People who uses it, tend to be from White Centric America (on twitter & on the news media)

The issues is that, often, when you see someone refer to the words, or even use the word Latinx its... Often not meant for "gender neutrality" but rather a "They" for the sake of appearing progressive (not "they" as in they/them but "they" as in, this ambiguous It/Othering group out there)

Like, for example. A news reporter on CNN once has on those passing cards "The Latinx population is in an uproar over latest femicide case".

They're not referring to people who uses they/them pronouns, but rather a body of people. This body could comprise of he/hims, she/hers, and they/thems! And like,,,

That's not the proper use of the word. It's just fake progressivism when "Latinos" or just simple "X citizens" could have worked just fine.

And, as someone who uses the preferred "Latine" it can be very frustrating to see!

Similarly, it is equally frustrating when all the people using the word "Latinx" isnt to self identify but to... Label others as that.

I don't know. I think the whole "colonizers trying to change Spanish" talk derives from other people calling us those labels, often, the wrong labels, and not that, the word "latinx/latine" is, in itself, a colonizer's move.

Hey here’s a fun lil reminder that the terms “Latinx” and “Latine” were created by spanish speakers in South America. You are free to look up the histories behind those two terms before you start calling people who use them “colonizers trying to change spanish” as though Spanish wasn’t literally the language brought to Latin America by colonizers

Unfortunately, most human schools aren't safe for them even in progressice communities... many adults still hate those who are different and teach their children to as well... Howahkan always got bullied for his beautiful dresses and long hair, and both my children got bullied for how I identify at times... and asgardian schools aren't safe for frost giants... the safest schooling option would be home schooling but I am not qualified to do so
