Twins in time au.... Would Fiddleford act as a sort of father figure to Stan? Since Filbrick obviously SUCKED to both Stan and Ford and Fidd is more than definitely missing HIS son, and of course Ford has grown to love him but they're still BROTHERS.. Maybe they could act as the father/son the other is missing?

A detail I don't see mentioned about the confrontation between Blitzø and Stolas is that while Blitzø is understandably angry and lashing out, he also ends his rant with an invitation to Stolas, imploring, no, demanding he meet him at his level, to get as angry as he is, to FIGHT HIM, right then and there.
We've seen frequently that imps are violent in general, they're originally native to Wrath, and we see that most of their bonding rituals often involve violence and/or bodily harm (just look at how much Millie and Sallie May messed each other up at the end and while being able to laugh about it; a broken bottle fight and broken bones is their version of a light-hearted pillow fight)
While Blitzø is also very self-destructive, even by Hell's standards, it should be noted that he's technically begging for Stolas to connect with him in this moment, to speak a language he understands. "At least respect me enough to fight me! If you care, why walk away? Get real with me, if we can't get physical with our genitals, then at least let us get physical with our fists!"
Unfortunately, Stolas has had the exact opposite cultural upbringing, having been taught his whole life that emotional outbursts are unseemly and improper, so his main go-to for conflicts is avoidance. He avoided confrontation with his father, he basically avoided Stella as much as he could even when she was openly shitting on him at parties; and ONLY just recently has he managed to stand up for himself and when he finally does, it's not to strike back, but simply stand his ground for once, emboldened his new-found love for Blitzø and the knowledge that his daughter isn't fooled by the act anymore and will soon be of age anyway.
It is not currently in Stolas' nature to be confrontational the way Blitzø desperately needs him to be.
Blitzø says: "Please, if you ever actually cared, you'd fight for us Get mad, show me that you care!"
What Stolas hears is just the most literal interpretation with zero subtext, because he isn't attuned to the subtleties of arguing and especially not what it looks like for imps, i.e. he focuses on the "I always hated you" interpretation.
Both gave the other an opening, but only heard dismissal, because it wasn't spoken in a language they were familiar with.
I'm not saying either handled things well here, Blitzø shouldn't immediately respond with anger and Stolas shouldn't default to walking away, that's my whole point.
I just thought it was an interesting angle that their differences aren't just societal (privilege/wealth/respect) but also cultural in how it influences how they each handle emotional confrontation, or, in the case of Stolas, how they don't.

small moment i liked in murderbot ep 5. when leebeebee says she was brought along to do laundy. the presaux team all reacts in loud disdain at the idea of a survey group bringing someone along to do laundry, and leebeebee snaps at them that she can't study anything like they have while she's on indenture contract; of course she's doing laundry. the group is quick to clarify that they think she's fine, that there's nothing wrong with doing laundry, that it's the company and the system they're disgusted with.
i believe them about not having meant any ill will towards leebeebee. but that moment does remind me a lot of conversations ive seen a few times here on tumblr. where people look at underpaid, underrespected jobs, accurately see that there's a problem, but misunderstand where the problem is. they imagine a world where no one has to do "demeaning" jobs instead of a world where every job is respected and enough to live off of. not every housekeeper or sanitation worker dislikes their career. plenty of people are genuinely passionate about work in those fields; they need rights and wages, not to be pushed out into something else.
the problem with bringing an indentured worker along to do your laundry is that you have an indentured worker. while the presaux crew is able and happy to do their own laundry and cleaning, wanting to hire someone else to do it instead doesn't automatically make you cruel or exploitative. the indenture is what makes leebeebee's treatment wrong.
presaux accidentally making leebeebee feel looked down on for not having a more impressive job, when they were trying to do the opposite and be upset on her behalf, feels like a very real kind of clumsiness. they have their convictions and their broad beliefs. they're just stumbling over the reality of putting those ideals into practice. aside from gurathin, i assume they've only had to face these injustices in abstract, removed forms until now.

maybe an unpopular opinion but despite my passion for self development, i honestly dislike most typical 'self development' books and really believe you get a lot more self-expansion out of reading creative non-fiction, essays, philosophy, and literature. engagement with these types of works will expand your intellect and teach you how to grapple with big ideas for yourself, rather than following the rules set out by some girl boss or hustle bro in their glorified marketing pamphlet 'book'.

sometimes I wonder what goes on in the heads of people who honestly think BNHA had a good ending. I don’t care how happy they are about b/akudeku being friends (or more????) or whatever, the fact that the characters are actively bitching about the lack of villains to beat up (which impairs their ability to gain money + power + fame) represents a colossal failure. the horrific death of an actual child (Toga) is seen as acceptable, the murders of people whose abandonment and rejection by society led directly to their development into villains (Twice, Shigaraki) are treated as heroic, and the conditions that led to a war that devastated Japan are still in place. so while whoo hoo Deku is on the Billboard chart with Bakugou 😃😃😃 and all that jazz, their victory is ultimately hollow. what happened before will happen again, because nothing has changed in any meaningful sense.
also, the central conceit of the story is that it’s about how Midoriya becomes the greatest hero in the world. spoiler alert: by any measure of the concept “greatest hero” as set down by BNHA, he, uh — didn’t. from a storytelling standpoint, pretending he did is just weak.

idk if this is a hot take but I don't think Armin is friendly. I think people find him generally off-putting. Like, people think he looks sweet, but also find him strange; for the topics that interest him, the way he didn't stray far from Eren (& Mikasa) socially, and his general demeanor.
I think that as Armin established himself more as he grew up, he developed better interpersonal skills that compliment his rhetorical prowess. I think he's the type of person who sees value in life and in minimizing harm. He offers kindness to his friends and understanding to all. But I don't see him as particularly "friendly"

if I was the gay son of my big reputation christian senator father growing up amidst homophobia, part of it secular, part of it derived from the traditionally catholic society in which I'm expected to excel at as a straight italian man and I was aware I would never be able to carry the political legacy my father was obsessed with, I would have to compensate for this vulnerable position by following in the footsteps of several generations of gay men who chose the priesthood to regain autonomy over their gay lives, doubling on it by becoming a franciscan, both to show the intensity of my commitment to the alternative path I had to take and as a direct response to my upper class upbringing, at the same time I was seeing that the regain of gay autonomy didn't feel enough when one still had to live in secret and keep a low-profile among the blatant hypocrisy of my institution's grand gay subculture and that I, like many of my peers, saw that amidst vatican politics the search for gay autonomy, an ego booster to compensate for the secret life, often was the search for power also, which I understood well due to being so close to it and in my own fine line of intense humility, liberal politics and thirst for significance, thrived in becoming the archbishop of milan and a cardinal while keeping the bitterness over never feeling this path had been enough, this high position not enough to match the political dream left behind in my father's coffin, seeing too clearly the vatican hypocrisy and being angry at the gay homophobes standing next to me, convincing myself I was doing enough good because I wasn't like them and supported a man I admired, more than I ever admired my father even, until my grand moment of relevance came in the form of a death announcement, a thought I had entertained before, and being secretary of state, the next goal that surely would make me feel enough and significant this time, the same way I thought all the others before would, had never been so close so it was time to use all I had learned from my father, which then turned out to be an embarrasing little amount because I never had the practical experience in politics, I just thought I knew how to do it and was so delighted to be able to do it, so eager to get the job for the man I was a praetorian guard to and for myself, so caring for the liberal values within the church I dedicated my life to and unable to shake my sassiness and pretentious attitude at the same time, only to face the underwhelming first ballot and panic at the thought of not getting the position after all, insist too much on my man only for him to reach his breaking point and scold me in the personal way he of course would be able to do, making me look like a bratty boy sitting with arms crossed in the school bus, and then finally facing reality, temporarily abandon my own values, pathetically trying to get a high position by getting coffee for the ridiculous, pompous centrist I loathe just to make a point for going against the traditionalists and tell my father, in my head, tell myself, I made it, I'm powerful, I'm no longer a dissappointment, I'm a gay man and I'm powerful, I can leave a significant mark in this world, I can have my own legacy, I can do both, I can.
but this isn't me. this is my good friend giulio sabbadin. he told me so.
