FreePSXBoot - finally we have a way to launch PS1 games on CD-Rs without modchips or disc swapping! It's not quite as powerful as FreeMCBoot for PS2, but it's still letting me play so many games I've always been curious about

Keen to share this new Spyro fangame in development by Bunbaroness!

She refers to the game as "Spaghetti Spyro." Bunn, known for the incredible Spyro Reignited Trilogy Omniswapper, has dedicated several years to developing this fangame in Unreal Engine 4.

The main goal is to create a foundation for fans to develop their own fangames, as the project will be open source once released. Right now, Bunn is focusing on the engine's detailed features, such as swimming, power-ups, and various breath abilities from all the Spyro games, including Legend of Spyro. This ensures that fans will have the tools they need to create their own games from this foundation.

Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 & 3 secret areas had the itchy gotta-have-it status of needing them for 100% certification of your average Spelunky HD secret, and the confounding entrance method obscurity of Black Hole from Star Fox. The worst polar settings to add together that way. Come on, if something is that sneaky I want it to be creepy and anomalous as fuck, and emphatically not a key component of "clocking".

HEY EVERYONE! The game that I worked on as Lead Artist/Art Director (And even wrote some of!) finally has a release date revealed - and it's my birthday, the 21st of February 2024! It'll be coming out for Steam, Switch, Xbox and PS4/5!

It's a biopunk character action/brawler with the mechanical depth of a fighting game where you murder millions of merciless militarized cops as a rogue swordsman seeking his missing boyfriend, merged with a living suit of armour who shares his ultimate goal of beheading the godlike "Sovereign Khan"ruler of a city built on suffering.

We filled it with living bioweapons, dubious cyborg priests, nightmarish monsters and it's ALL fully voice acted and lavished with the love of our whole team at PoppyWorks and our publisher Ziggurat.

oh my god i just remembered something insane i saw yesterday. okay, alien resurrection for the ps1 is a pretty good horror game, especially during a time when literally every single licensed game was hot dog ass as a rule. but "the modern vintage gamer" on youtube was given a weird, hot tip about the game from the guy who put it in himself: cuttingroomfloor discovered a cheat code that was previously listed as "unknown" and it turns out when you enter the cheat code, you can swap the ps1 disc and load any CD-R (or DVD-R? i dont think we were there yet). for over 20 years, sony had no idea one of their discs turned the PS1 into a pirate's dream machine with just a few buttons. that's insane

it turns out the Azumanga PS1 game I've been hacking on shares an engine with a PS1 One Piece fighting game, so have an endlessly rotating t-posing Luffy

Throwback to this old series I made almost a decade ago. It's using the moon jump code for Spyro 3 to enter areas of the game you normally can't as Spyro. So for example, Sheila, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley, Agent 9 and Sparx levels, as well as messing up skateboarding and other challenges. Click the video to view the whole playlist - features a higher voiced CrystalFissure (I was 19!) lol
