No, actually, let's talk about the Core Four's Isle looks in Descendants 1.

Yeah, no.

Number one, Mal, Evie, Carlos, and maybe Jay are all very obviously wearing pleather- fake leather. If the leather was brand-new and made in a certain way, sure, it could possibly be shiny like that, but the Isle kids would not have access to leather like that. They'd probably only have leather salvaged from destroyed furniture and it would not look like that. It's way too shiny, it just looks like plastic.

The thing baout pleather is that it'll last maybe, MAYBE, twenty years before it becomes unusable. It's not good quality and not as protective as genuine leather, especially when it's not professionally cared for with knowledge and supplies these kids shouldn't have. Not to mention it looks brand-new. Where are these children getting brand-new pleather?

All of this is also professionally made, using specialized materials. In order to sew thicker materials like leather, you need specialized needles and thread to create normal seams like they have. You can sew leather using normal needles and thread, but it won't look like this unless you know exactly what you're doing and even then, there are ways to tell. These clothes are obviously made by professionals with good supplies, not by a teenager stitching by candle light in her bedroom using a normal needle and normal thread.

Also, let's talk about the dye jobs- there is absolutely no way. These colours could only have been made using actual leatherworking or similar supplies. If these kids were actually making their own clothes, they'd be dyeing this stuff in their bathtub with food colouring or hair dye like normal punks, so the colours would not be anywhere near as vibrant as these. The colour would also probably be patchy and brownish, but these are vibrant and gorgeous, clearly made using actual leatherworking supplies and actual leather dyes rather than the supplies they would actually have access to. Let's compare these clothes to some genuine handmade punk looks, the kind of looks these kids should have.

See these leather jackets? They're all black, which is the easiest colour to dye without professional supplies. The colour on them is usually fabric attachments. The colours of the leather are dull, indicating either age or the fact that they were hand-dyed. Clothes are ill-fitting, torn, obviously secondhand or ancient. Looking at old photos of punk clothing, you'll find most of the looks are like this. Old, worn, handmade, secondhand, faded, ripped- these are the kinds of clothes the Isle kids would probably be wearing.

"Oh, but Evie could-" no she couldn't. I know that Evie is a prodigy, but even a prodigy can't work with what she doesn't have. It doesn't matter how good she is, she would not be able to make professionally-made brand-new clothes. It's also entirely impractical. Why waste all of that effort making professional-looking pleather clothes when she could just save time, work with what she has, and create clothes that are functioning and that can also look pretty good?

The cloth used in the clothes they wear in the movies would not have been available to them. Tights without any runs? Beautifully dyed pleather sewn professionally to fit them? Fake denim? No. And even if this stuff was available, everything they wear is, again, clearly professionally dyed and sewn. They got that from the trash? The trash of a country that hasn't used black clothing in twenty years? Absolutely not.

Disney, let's be realistic here. There is absolutely no way they would have clothes like this and even if there was, it would take an unrealistic amount of effort and supplies for them to produce. Form is important to them, sure, but function and practicality would be far more important. These clothes give them no room to run, jump, duck, fight, parkour, or really move at all. Why would they do that to themselves?

Answer? They wouldn't. Disney just couldn't be bothered to be realistic.

Jacob Frye x (Fem) Reader

Imagine you help patch up Jacob Frye after a fight club, but he confesses it was for good reason? (and it is your birthday no less!)

Jacob Frye, what a force of nature was he. Jacob was either the best person to be around, or he'd cause you to be behind bars. As his supervisor on the train (as demanded by Evie Frye) I'd often have to patch him up whenever I'd stop by Whitechapel to get groceries for the Rooks aboard the train. But this time it was different, I looked for Jacob left and right around the fight club but he was simply missing. This wasn't good as he could easily have lost to a templar crook and been dragged out, and seems my theory wasn't far fetched as when I walked around the alleyways I found Jacob surrounded by templars. I carefully hid behind some wooden crates and looked through my pockets for anything I could use, having only one smoke bomb, a cherry bomb, and a single throwing knife, I had to be creative. I could see at lease five men, one of them being the fight club champion. I decided I'd get them to separate, I threw the cherry bomb down the alley and got two to depart from the other three. I then threw the smoke bomb at the threw and one blade directly to the head of the fight club crook. I managed to strangle the two men and once the smoke bomb cleared I picked up Jacob by his under arms and dragged him to the nearest carriage. Some time passed before I got aboard the train and placed Jacob in the bed, looking through his injurys I found something in his pocket, a large amount of money, made sense why they wanted so bad. Soon I began stitching in the injuries and heard groans from the big man baby.

Jacob had woken up with a big startled yet tired expression. I frowned softly, letting him know that I had been rather disappointed.

"the.. The coins! Where are they?" he exclaimed

"calm down your highness Frye, I have them put away, if you hadn't noticed we're safe in the train. Your welcome"

I sighed finishing my words and gently wrapped his arms in a bandaid. He calmed down and wouldn't stop looking into my eyes with that childish puppy eyed look he often gave Evie when talking about the rooks.

"whats the matter Jacob? Tell me would you.. I'm trying to finish up" I held his arm closely to my lap and put down the bandaid roll

"well I wasn't just beating away at those punks for my own entertainment, though it was quite fun I admit. I was going to get you something" he said smiling, I noticed the blood in his bottom lip and pouted. I got a needle and thread and got closer to patch the lip up. "well, what was your goal then? Mmm? Carry all of the rooks money so you could lose it all gambling away in that godforsaken fight club?" i said as I stitched his lips as best I could. Seeing his face red all over with his eyes blueberry colored wasn't something I enjoyed knowing I could've stopped it by telling him to stay put on the train.

"i was going to get you a gift, your highness Y/N. Not just any actually, buttt.. Oww, can't tell you now can I?" he smirked all smugly like the jester he can be sometimes. I knew asking him what it was would lead me to a cat and mouse game of words. I rolled my eyes and continued to patch him up in his arm with the bandaid roll, I could see in the corner of my eye he was looking at me still, waiting for me to speak. "look, whatever may be the reason for your foolish games better be good" i looked at him and frowned. Getting up as I finished helping me but I felt his weaker hand hold mine, I looked over slowly towards Jacob. A smile drew on Jacobs face as he sat up, "i think your the perfect reason to get beat up for, Y/N". I could feel myself get red on my face and I sighed softly. "look, your highness Frye. I'll let you go just this once since it is my important day, alright?" I smiled, deep down his ridiculous manner was to my liking. Jacob stood up as best he could and carefully placed his hand on my face, his hand was roughed up greatly but there was a gentleness that I felt in his hand, he smiled softly when I held his hand closer to my cheek. I could feel his lips meet mine as we closed eyes, after a minute or so I heard Evie chuckle softly. Jacob jumped and looked over.

"whatcha doin there Jacob?" Evie teased her brother, this was the first time she'd ever seen him kiss someone. He chuckled softly, "just wishing her happy birthday is all, why?". Jacob had a mission to get to it seemed, once Evie headed out. Jacob held me carefully, smiling, "seems as though the early morning crow has yet another fight to attend, Y/N" he kissed me once more, I kissed back and placed his top hat on his head, smiling widely. "you have a city to save my Jacob dear, you should get going" he walked out the door and followed to watch. He stood on the roof of the train. "happy birthday to the wonderful Mrs Frye to be" he said jumping away to his mission fast as the night

Descendants be nailing the character aesthetic each and every time! There’s so much to talk about!

These leak and the girl from the trailer are two separate people. From what we’ve seen, Red has 3 very different hairstyles throughout the movie, but we ain’t gonna talk about that. I love her style. It’s like a combination of Mal’s edginess and Evie’s punk royalty. I don’t care what y’all say, the designer is amazing and I love what he’s doing!

One thing that interest me is Uma’s relationship with Red. It seems like they know each other personally. I’ve thought it either two explanations.

1. While Uma was on the run, she found Wonderland and there, she met Red

2. While Red grew up in Wonderland, she and her mother were sent to the Isle of the Lost teen she was a teen. That makes sense to me since the Queen has a salon on the Isle. And please don’t try to get logical and ask why Beast would wait for 10 years cause if that’s the case, why would Beast waste time having FG bring dead villains back to life?

All in one, I’m so excited to meet Red and just see this movie in general! It looks so good!!! It gives the og Descendants vibes!

Girl dad Steve is just so 😮‍💨😮‍💨😩😩. And the way you write it? 🫠🫠 Perfection, and then just imagine once your guys daughters are old enough to start dating? How overly over protective he’s gonna be? Scaring off every boy their daughters bring home and you have to be all “Steve, stop” and he’s gonna be all “None of them are good enough for my princesses”

EVIE!!!!!! you are so real for this. no bc peak steve is dilf steve covered in glitter with an american girl doll in one hand, a towel thrown over his shoulder, and a my little pony hairbrush in his pocket. bonus points for every sticker and barette you find on him. when his kids reach that tween age where they start liking boys??? oh my god. you thought the sleepover craze made your house chaotic???? this is so much worse. the second steve hears your oldest start talking about boys on the phone with her friends, it's over. he knows that means your other girls won't be far behind her. he's in the doorway in less than one second.

he finds you immediately and the second he brings up the fact that your oldest daughter is talking about some boy named chris, he sees your face change. you knew. how could you know that your daughter is talking to boys and not tell him?????

"I met him for two seconds yesterday and he seems perfectly nice. I didn't tell you immediatley because I don't want you to jump to conclusions and bring out your old nail bat."

"Okay, well, when some punk comes sniffing around my girls then yeah, I'm going to bring out the nail bat." he grumbles.

"Come on, Stevie. We were their age once," You tell him, batting his chest playfully, hoping to remind him of his teenage days.

"Yeah, we were their age." he says, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you close. "Our frontal lobes weren't developed yet and we both had one thing on our minds. I know how this goes, okay phonecalls lead to kissing between periods, next thing you know you're married with six kids and a nail bat."

you chuckle at him, pressing a kiss to his lips, one he leans into. you pat his chest again.

"how bout this? when she's getting ready for her first date, we'll give her her own nail bat."

He considers.
