This is very random but, can we talk about the rise in “toxin free eating/clean eating”? Because all of this is so wild to me. The rise in “cleanliness” in general is so weird. (Not saying caring about hygiene is weird that’s not what this “cleanliness culture” is about.)

I’m sorry but drinking raw milk isn’t going to give you this missing nutrition BIG DAIRY has been keeping from you so they could fill you with toxins. Pasteurizing milk is a process so you don’t fucking die!!!

An uptick in bird flu cases have been reported in Dairy cows recently, and with all the dumbasses drinking raw milk that’s just putting yourself and so many others at risk.

But do they see that risk no. They are too busy posting tiktoks about how Air Fryers give people autism. And how “processed” foods are filled with evil toxins and give people autism. (Why the fuck does everything now a days give you autism) What do they think processes food are?? Putting a food in a wrapping is processing it.

Sugar, pasteurized milk, chemicals in an ingredient list you don’t understand, aren’t giving you autism or parasites or “toxins”. It’s crazy they will say they have a borax deficiency and start eating LITERAL BORAX THE LAUNDRY DETERGENT, but demonize sugar or oil. Stop moralizing your EDs and spreading false information to feed your delusions. Let’s also not ignore the political rhetoric that also helps prop up these ideas. (That’s way bigger conversation I don’t want to get into. Also I’m saying “your” and “you” not at YOU but at them. Sorry for any typos, I hope you understand what I’m trying to get at.)

We can and should talk about this! So many people today have been led to believe that Food In The Past was so much better and nobody got sick from anything they ate, which was just. So Not True. Like the reality is that food today is way safer than food in the past, and the health problems people suffer today were absolutely suffered by people in the past. Like you only have to read something like the Lacnunga to see this for yourself.

Out of curiosity, do you think doing what the GQuuuuuuX movie did (having the Char section be the very beginning and then having episodes 1 and 3 after that) is better or worse than the episode order we got?

I'm not sure.

At the moment, my opinion is that it's an intractable problem on the terms GQuuuuuuX has set for itself. In a movie - especially a movie clearly set out to be an AU for a very popular sci-fi franchise where you can expect a not-insignificant part of the audience to know what you're riffing on - you can absolutely get away with a half-hour prologue sequence. It's not *good*, necessarily, and it sure as hell is very self-indulgent, but it flows logically. Even in the TV version, you can see the segue into the near-collision with the clan battle in the first episode and how that's *supposed* to establish Challia's presence.

However, once you've committed to releasing this weekly as twenty-ish minute episodes, you're sunk. Maybe they could have gotten away with one first double-length episode. Maybe. But they didn't go that route and as a result, they've backed themselves into a corner. There's no elegant way to chop this up. Either you waste your first episode establishing characters who aren't the ones the show is actually going to focus on, or you waste your second on the necessary backstory for the present events to actually make sense as extending from the original Gundam series. You're testing the audience's patience either way.

And I don't believe that's malicious. I think there's an artistic choice being made here to prioritise the cinematic release and make do with a tacitly inferior TV version. Which is fair! Like I said, if Bandai is giving you a chance to write that One Year War AU you always wanted, you might as well go all-out with the big cinematic version!

Now, the thing is, I can't judge yet how *bad* a compromise the TV version is in comparison. I know it's bad, for the simple technical reason that it's clearly a clumsy reversing of the intended order for these sequences, apparently with additional cuts for time. But the impact of that will only become clear in the long-term, once we have the whole series available to view. Plus, I haven't seen the movie version, so, I don't know, maybe it drags in the opening section more than I expect?

At the moment, it's perfectly feasible the final result will be "it's good, but you need to binge the first two episodes out of order to get the best effect."

Sorry to ask you, but first I want to congratulate you for having 1000 followers, and secondly, one question. Who do you think would best play Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie? Since I saw you complained about their voices? It's just purely out of curiosity. Thank you. 😁

Hi and sorry for the late reply, and thank you very much for these words of yours.

I assume you saw my post about my comments for Donald's nephews at House of Mouse. I absolutely do not like how they sounded there. Yes, it's a bit of a complicated topic, but I think Donald's nephews would sound best like boys their own age. After all, the boys are smart, albeit naughty, but they would sound much better that way. They were at their best in these educational cartoons like "Scrooge McDuck and Money" from 1967 and "Donald's Fire Survival Plan" from 1965. Dick Beals played them and I know Mellomen played them too.

However, even though many people don't like her, I think Russi Taylor voiced them as well as Webby in OG Ducktales. And then she gave their voices in several cartoons. And she gave voices so that if you listened carefully you could tell by the tone which was which Donald's nephews. It sounds funny, but those who followed the OG Ducktales closely would certainly know. You could imagine their voices while reading Donald Duck comics. Of course, Clarence Nash's voice wouldn't be bad, but that would be more true for old comics, while for newer ones more voices than Russi Taylor or boys of their age. Unfortunately she passed away five years ago and the big question is who could replace her to do her voice for Huey, Dewey and Louie. I hope they find some good voice actresses for it.

Of course, actresses like Jeannie Elias, Pamela Adlon and Elizabeth G. Daily did a great job of portraying Donald's nephews in the Quack Pack and did a good job of voicing Donald's teenage nephews. Too bad they didn't give them another chance to play Donald's nephews properly afterwards. As for Ducktales 2017, I know everyone praises that version, although I didn't like it, but that doesn't mean it's not a good version. However, the most I dislike about them are their voices, which absolutely did not sound like boys of their age, but as if they were 20 years old. I know it's pretty trendy in modern cartoons to have famous TV and movie actors play boys, but somehow it doesn't always work. You know about Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan who played Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck in Ducktales 2017. Let's face it, those actors are very good, but they just kind of gave me bad voices in a way that didn't even sound like boys from 11 years old, already from 21 and older, which is quite annoying. For me, I wouldn't want Donald's nephews to sound like that in the future. Although with how Disney treats all these characters, I can only say that I expect only negative experiences and nothing more.

This is only for the original version, while for the dubbing of other countries Donald's nephews are mostly played by boys or female actresses and they did a good job. In my opinion, the best Latin American Spanish, Spanish and Hungarian dubbing. Another interesting fact is that for the German dub a male voice actor voiced Donald's nephews in Quack Pack, while in the French dub the voice actors who voiced Dewey and Louie in Quack Pack also voiced the same characters in Ducktales 2017. Although they have totally different personalities. XD But I hope you understand what I'm talking about.

Certainly, in my opinion, it would be preferable if in the future Donald's nephews are played by someone who knows how to do children's voices or do voices like the late Russi Taylor did or they are played by boys their own age. That's how I imagine them talking while reading Donald Duck comics. However, this is just my opinion. I hope you are happy with this and I apologize to others if this bothered them, I was just stating my opinion.
