The Ghosts We Keep: Sakura, Tsunade; G - As the months ticked by and Sakura grew to know her master better, she watched with a mix of awe and horror: the woman was a paradoxical force of nature. She was whip-smart, terrifyingly strong and no nonsense about her leadership, yet the woman actively engaged in ridiculous vices and could offer up a smile that held all the sadness in the world.

Not much of being a hero, She used to be an Elementary student at age the 12, but lacking any particular for her future. While Kyoya of the Takamachi is the hero of the story. For me, Fate Testarossa is just a girl who was thrown away like street trash.

Fate : A spin-off Magical Girl TV show of real world AU.

Heero : Exactly, so I'm guessing that you used meet Nanoha in the Real World as kids, but then you...

Fate : Yes, this happened. When someone is one their birthday, I went a weirdly transformation called "Age Progression" which transformed Nanoha into a grown up busty girl and of course...(gulps) this. I don't know how that happen on our birthdays, but it's really weird to grow up like that in some sort of way.

Duo : (playing cards with the group) That's definitely something. For a kid who mysteriously grewed up into an adult, you sure how Age Progression in most logical ways. So, umm, nothing's bit too much about being a kid inside the body of a grown girl, how are you this a young-looking girl with a grown up body?

Fate : Don't be ridiculous. I was only a 9-year old after I went into progression at the age of eight. So yeah, I clearly had no comment of that.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Honestly, not as much as I should. I spend so much time writing that I let a lot of the social aspect of things fall by the wayside. Fortunately, I co-write everything except my own little series, and my co-writers are phenomenal communicators who make up for my introversion. I do go through batches at a time and try to answer people when I can think of anything relevant to respond with; sometimes that takes me a while..... But I really appreciate comments! Even if they’re just little “adiubasuidgaibda”. :)

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Ummmmm...... Hmmm. They mostly all have angsty beginnings..... Maybe Pour Forth Thy Soul in Ecstasy. Or Crash (still being posted, but finished writing). 

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

By The Earnest Stars has a nice ending (spoilers, finished writing, not finished posting). Excess of Joy Would Wake Me is a sweet ending to a one-shot (I actually have accomplished a COUPLE of those!) 

Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I have a few crossovers in the works and mixed into Here In This Moment into other writers’ Dragon Age universes, especially in my continuing series “travels in time” which deals with my time/world hopping Inquisitor. 

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Hmm. Nope. No hate. And there have been a few things I’ve written where I was a little worried about it, honestly, because I write pretty viscerally about things. But. Yeah. No hate. Just love or silence and some thoughtful constructive criticism. 

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yup! All kinds! Mostly M/M, but also M/F and F/F. Lots of kinks, lots of play, all consensual except for one scene for one specific reason and I labeled the heck out of it. 

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I know.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! Many! Lots! Love it! Finding a rhythm with another writer is so fulfilling and I really love it. 

What’s your all time favourite ship?

.......Oof. I mean. Honestly, my favorite ship at any given moment is the one that I’m writing if the flow is good. If I’m looking up fics to read, I usually look for Dorian-centric stories. 

What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

travels in time. I have it all plotted out, but there’s years of it and I’m beginning to think it might be better not to show everything that happened in the missing time interim. Mystery is more interesting. However, if you read it and there’s a particular part of the journey that you’d like to see detailed, let me know. :) 

What are your writing strengths?

Does tenacity count? I’ve been told that I have a knack for creating visceral scenes that evoke the feelings of the characters for the readers really strongly and that is my goal. To bring the reader into the scene. I love sinking deep into a point of view and focusing on the particular lens of the narrator. I also really love building out the bare structures of largely sketched in canon characters, like Rilienus and Karl Thekla. 

What are your writing weaknesses?

One-shots. Getting to the point quickly. Fight scenes - I hate writing them. Arguments, I love, but action sequences are really difficult for me for some reason. Apparently they actually turn out pretty well? But I find them very stressful to build. 

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I do it. I like it. I like reading it. There are some images and ideas that are communicated better in other languages. And when there are characters switching between languages for the sake of privacy/community/shared history/etc, I find it more satisfying to allow them to actually switch languages rather than continuing to point out when they are and are not speaking in a language that might be understood by those around them. I use Polish for Nevarran, French for Orlesian, and Latin for Tevene. I also use the much debated Elvhen Lexicon, in conjunction with other Dalish sources online. 

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (1995). That’s right! I was and still am a hardcore Trowa/Quatre shipper and I refuse to feel bad about it. My first poly-triad fix was Duo/Trowa/Quatre and it got a lot of good feedback on Livejournal (remember that, back in the day?) and that was before poly was a thing people actually talked about. Still proud of that.

What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

I cannot possibly answer this adequately. I’m proud of them all in different ways. The series Everything Will Be Okay that I’ve written with @johaeryslavellan has the most original characters and is a modern AU and is basically just our own world with touches of Thedas along the edges and I’m really proud of the relationship between the two original characters; it’s very real and unique and strange and fun and painful. I’m also really proud of Pour Forth Thy Soul In Ecstasy, which I wrote with @midnightprelude, because I feel like we really just caught the sail of what the Tevinter Imperium is like and absorbed and explored that world really well from a single setting, and also we did some killer magic exploration that is still really fun to re-read. And solo-wise, I’m still the most proud of “my window through which nothing hides” which is pure, unadulterated smut from Cole’s POV and I had so much fun working through how he would interpret physical sensation and living in his brain and body for a minute.

What stands out now: oh hey, I took live notes this time!

Is this the first time we hear that OZ supposedly doesn’t want to rule, but bring peace? Is that for everyone or just Zechs? 

Otto is like “I broke my ribs” and Zechs is like “RIP to your ribs but I’m different” 

Heero and Duo enter their High School AU and apparently have had basketball lessons

Relena is like, “Oh, I just went to every school on earth and, oh I had no idea you’d be here.”

Quatre’s Space Heart is casually mentioned like it’s totally normal 

Wufei and Trowa are the worst guests ever, they are chilling across from the fire like two dudes chilling in a hot tub 6 feet apart

Catherine has these weird dead eyes where she looks blind, which would be a cool plot point as a knife thrower, but it also makes her looks like a Sailor Moon villain

The Zechs learning to pilot Tallgeese reminds me a lot of piloting an Eva

The subtitle implication that Mr Darlain would chase a guy around the world is A+

But seriously, Otto’s sacrifice is way more emotional than I remember

Getting a lot more vibes between Treize and Zechs than I did the first time around. Like I knew they were heavily shipped, but now I really get it.

 There’s no way that Duo’s English voice actor didn’t deliver “I got a bad feeling about this” specifically like Han 

 Lady Une’s plans during the Gundam brief are like when Silent Bob pulls out his plans in Mallrats 

It occurs to me that Noin is how I pictured Tonks and she’s not like that…. 

These aren’t lightsabers. We’ll give them a mohawk and a wheelchair, we are not getting sued! 

 Colonel Une is intense. Like, I had a reaction to her using the Colonies as leverage, and even though I knew that was coming, I was so surprised how this felt. I legit tried to hide in my sweatshirt.

Heero’s body is one of the things I remember being most edited from the afternoon vs midnight run

Damn Trowa, just drive off with him in the bed of your truck, with a smaller one flashing a “wide load” sign driving behind him

Episode Ratings: 4.5/5

I am continually impressed with how the character backstories and motivations are slowly revealed, as well as the actions of the larger organizations. It’s amazing that we believe that the United Earth Sphere Alliance is probably a normal ruling body, and the Colonies have some issues, but then we realize that they’ve seized military control of the Earth. And yeah, OZ doesn’t seem great either, but Zechs seems to have a pretty different understanding of OZ’s mission than, say, Une. I remember being fascinated with all the political drama when I first watched it, but it really stands up, and has more detail than other things I’ve watched with similar vibes. A+ backstory development and reveal.

What I think I remember for the next episode(s):

OK, so I think that this is where OZ gathers up the remains of Wing and they try to reverse engineer it. Relena tries to kill Lady Une, and I think Duo and Quatre are off together, and Heero and Trowa are chilling at the circus once Heero wakes up. I have no memory of what Wufei is up to...

This is the most hilarious thing I’ve ever gotten my hands on. This special tape called “Mobile Suit Gundam WIng - Secret Operation” features 60 minutes of official GW parody goodness recorded by the VAs of the Gundam pilots plus Zechs’ and Treize’s and is divided into six operations.

Side A (remember those? And walkmen? Good times.) features the first three operations:

“Mission Accepted” is the intro to the tape with Heero receiving the mission to create the tape. The other pilots pitch in, too, but Heero being Heero wants to do it by himself. That is, until Duo points out that he’d have to fill 60 minutes by himself. Heero, brought up short, budges.

“The Winner Family’s ...Secret” opens with Zechs and Treize talking about all the info Treize has (it includes Noin’s three sizes; Zechs blows a gasket, but nonetheless tells Treize he already knows them). It also includes infos on the Winner family, claiming Mr. Winner only has daughters. Heero, who hacks into OZ’s database, reads that and soon all the pilots think Quatre is actually a girl. Cue them acting all friendly and protective around him. Eventually Quatre finds out why they’re acting weird and he’s not amused. In fact, he goes full ZERO on them for immediately believing he’s a chick.

The high school AU has Duo having forgotten to do his homework because he was engrossed watching TV and asking the others to let him copy. Quatre, Trowa and Heero decline and when he turns to Wufei he proudly claims he didn’t do his either. The puns are golden in this because they use their intro lines from the series to make the jokes. Zechs, their teacher, also hands them back the tests they wrote. Duo and Wufei did poorly, the others aced them, and Treize, the principal, pops in to tease Wufei about it. It ends with Heero blowing the whole place up because they’re asked to show how self-destruction works as an assignment. And we all know Heero is the expert on this.

Judging by the high school skit, this tape must have come out before Episode Zero’s release since Wufei is a freaking scholar, so him being bad at school would be grossly inaccurate.

As far as a detailed translation goes, tumblr folks, work your magic! My shoddy skills are only up to a general synopsis. So if you know someone who can fully translates this, please bug them and share the joy!

It had all stopped so suddenly. It hadn’t been like anything had been declared, nothing permanent. After the war they’d just sort of fallen in together. First it was the hotel room. Then it was a pizza. Duo’s laughter had saved him. Even months after he last heard it, Duo’s laugh was what he kept breathing for. It wasn’t like there was a lot of other purpose. Weapons are supposed to be decommissioned, after all. Except the memory of Duo’s laugh, Duo’s kisses, Duo sleeping next to him, these things meant he was human. Pain meant he was alive. He still had the ring, though his finger was too small to keep it on anymore.

Our fandom artifact for episode 04 is a dōjinshi anthology called Phallus Sex Symbol, collecting works by the circle 黄色の畑 Yellow-Farm from 1999 to 2003. Yellow-Farm was made up of writer Minazuki Yuina 水無月ゆいな and artist Takakura Row 高座朗 and was dedicated entirely to making works where Duo tops everyone. Takakura lists some original published works in the back of the anthology, so they seem to have been succeeding in commercial BL manga and art as well. The anthology was published on August 16th, 2003 and republishes short works which were originally “copy zines” with released in limited quantities at dōjinshi events from 1999 to 2003. Dōjinshi is the Japanese word for self-published magazines, now often used to refer to fanzines with fan comics and fanfiction sold at big all-fandom events such as Comic Market and smaller “only” events dedicated to one series, character, or pairing. They are also sold or resold at stores such as Tora no Ana and K Books. “Copy books” or “copy zines” usually refer to short event-limited releases printed on the fly, nowadays often day of the event at the convenience store copy machines on the way or at Tokyo Big Sight.

Phallus Sex Symbol is an all-seme (top) Duo collection. I feel like usually (this is just a personal impression maybe from my biases) fujoshi want their favorite character to be the one who bottoms all the time—maybe it’s just me, but I want to see the boy get wrecked. But there’s another type of fan out there and that’s the one who wants their boy to be the greatest dick in the land, the dick of dicks, and the heroes of Yellow-Farm are those types of fans, dedicated to making sure everyone gets some of that Maxwell D. 

A character relationship chart shows the relationships of the Phallus Sex Symbol universe, as well as “canon” pictures of each character so we know what they looks like transformed into Takakura’s distinct and beautiful style. The biggest transformation is Duo, which is what drew me to this cover in the first place: he’s big, broad, tall, his hair is even longer and more flowing, it’s blonde! He looks like Zechs. A great example of a fan adapting the art style to suit their characterization. The other pilots get minor updates: Wufei gets two cute braided buns, Trowa gets bangs drawn in a way that makes sense, Heero gets the most beautiful eyes and eyelashes and his hair color is darkened, and Quatre… remains a cute blonde.

The main Duo pairings get descriptions so we go into their stories knowing what the deal is:

Wufei’s feelings for Duo: Won’t say it but love (Duo’s back: Hides his feelings but a good guy)

Heero’s feelings for Duo: A tenacious love. “Mine only.” (Duo: Taciturn, unfriendly, rash; Heero and Quatre are mutually locked in a “Keep your hands off my Duo” relationship.)

Hilde —> Duo: LOVE ❤️ (Duo: Living together ❤️ ; the note for Hilde on the side adds that her feelings are one-sided, but Heero still considers her an obstacle.)

Trowa —> Duo: A secret romantic love (Duo: Kind and quiet)

Quatre —> Duo: “My darling.” (Duo: A gentle little rich boy)

Rashid —> Duo: Likes. Paternal love?! (Duo: Relies on him)

That last note is particularly ?! since Rashid, whom you may recall is the manly leader of Maguanacs Corps, the fighters who assist Quatre, gets an amazing comic where Duo fucks his insecurities right out of him. I’m glad to see Rashid getting some love, even if the story is a bit of Rashid feeling bad about being old and ugly and worshipping Duo’s young (white?) cock; at least Duo finds Rashid beautiful. I’m pretty sure Rashid and Duo interact during the arc where Quatre and Duo hide out in that problematically(?)-Middle-Eastern town, so I judge that to be enough interaction for the ALL-SEME DUO AGENDA to do their business. 

Heero and Quatre’s rivalry comes up in a short comic where Wizard Quatre steals Duo’s penis while Heero is using it (discussed on the pod.) 

Another short comic plays off the story of the King with Donkey Ears: Duo is a king with donkey ears and his lovers (guard Heero, hairdresser Trowa, cook Wufei, and a neighboring country’s prince Quatre) are sworn to secrecy. But Lover D, Quatre, can’t stand it anymore and he digs a hole in the ground. Into it, he shouts: “THE KING IS HUNG LIKE A DONKEY.” And so the secret gets out. Yes, this is a joke about Duo’s giant donkey dick. I love it and respect it.

In between the comics, the anthology includes four fanfiction stories by Minazuki: Advent: Risc Factor, Marvelous: Duo Maxwell Rape Story, Milky Shot: Ghost Love Story, and Criminal (罪人). These are various pairings but Duo/Trowa is prominent! Who knew! They’re all non-canon but the degree of AU-ness varies. The first one is the most interesting: it’s a modern AU where Duo is a college student and private detective. I didn’t delve very deeply into the others, but it’s fun to see how fanfiction tropes are universal. 

After reading all this: I think I’m default a bottom-Duo fan but this has made me see the light of top Duo.

I have very long, complex dreams as anyone who's read my journal before knows. I dream in novels/full-fledged series. (I also have a lot of dreams staring a transgender character.)

So, background information first.  It was AU-Gundamverse, only without any actual Gundams.  The colonies in this functioned more like planets in, say, Star Trek or Firefly, in that they are each run by independent governments only loosely united through a ‘federation’ of sorts.  Some colonies are tied very closely, others barely if at all.

 

L2 in this case is a fringe colony with little to no Federation-influence.  It has a strict caste system in place, with a rich elite class at the top and casteless ‘untouchables’ at the very bottom (street people basically).  The casteless are barely considered people, have pretty much no rights, can be used as slaves by the elites, aren’t allowed to hold legal jobs, enter certain areas, etc.   (Think DragonAge casteless dwarves.)  Right below the elite caste is the military, which is also pretty much the only way someone can advance their caste.  Any caste can enlist in the military, except casteless of course.

 

(The Federation maintains trade relations with L2 despite not agreeing morally with their whole thing.  People from the Federation can travel and do business but must abide by the rules of the colony.  This ties in later.)

 

Okay, back to the military.  This isn’t like a modern military set-up but more like SPARTA.  Children can be enlisted as young as 10 and as late as 13, and some begin training at home even younger.  Enlistees attend a central academy for five years where they live, study, and train until they ‘graduate’ as full-fledged soldiers, anywhere between age 15-18.  Training is very strict and regimented, but the majority of low-middle caste families have children enlisted because again, it’s like the only way to advance.  The military is controlled by the elite caste, but not many elites enroll.  Those that do are highly respected, however.  Within the military, things are pretty much egalitarian/achievement-based.  Males and females train together and have the same standards, although they do have separate sleeping and showing quarters.  During their time at the academy, trainees are forbidden to leave except for being released to their family at holidays, and only then if the family requests it.  Post-graduation, all soldiers are enrolled for life or until injured past ability to serve.  They serve as police force, quash rebellion, and have the potential to combat wars in the colony’s defense, although it’s been a generation or two since that’s been necessary. 

 

The reward?  Status, pay, and basically the ability to do anything you want to anyone lower than an elite.  In fact, at the Academy, there is a ‘Game Room’ staffed with lower caste ‘employees’, open for use by both trainers, soldiers, and trainees in good standing.  Think light stuff like food and entertainment, but also things like gambling, porn, and prostitution. 

 

Okay, so character stuff.  Duo starts out more or less the same: an orphan on the streets of L2.  This means he’s casteless.  Solo cares for him, before dying of the plague.  Duo survives and is taken in by the Maxwell Orphanage, which is run by volunteers from the Federation to care for casteless children.  This is border-line following the colony’s rules so while it’s allowed by L2, they don’t have support from the Federation government.  This means that when rebels shelter there, and the military destroys the orphanage, the Federation can’t really do anything except pass some pretty ineffective sanctions.  Same as the original, Duo survives.  He’s caught at the ruins, having stolen military weapons (his canon) to get the rebels to leave, and when the military attempts to capture them, he attacks them and does pretty damn well for a kid.  The commander grabs Duo and notes that the kid has no fear of death and no computation about killing and decides on a whim to make Duo his new pet project. 

 

The commander is also an elite and concerned to be a little eccentric but brilliant and effective, and he’s able to use his influence to get his way.  There’s no actual LAW about casteless not being allowed to enlist, just custom.  He overrides everyone’s protests and forcibly enlists Duo in the academy.  Duo HATES it and tries to get away numerous times but is well and stuck.  He’s also brilliant at it, so despite all protests, he continues as head of his class for years. 

 

So, some complicated stuff in the mix here.  When the commander – we’ll call him Commander G… He’s not G, but maybe like his son (but, you know, handsome)?  When Commander G gets Duo back to the academy and scrubbed up clean (they let him keep his hair… it’s anime military, all in uniform but crazy hair everywhere), it turns out Duo is a GIRL.  More accurately, Duo is biologically female but has never identified ‘herself’ as such, which Solo, Sister Helen, and Father Maxwell were always very accepting about, so ‘she’ hasn’t really had to deal with too much.  Despite the caste system, L2 is pretty loose about homosexuality and gender equality.  So, actual gender identity isn’t a huge deal in society, but it obviously for Duo, who at age 10/11 is suddenly bunked up with a bunch of women and not able to quite put his finger on why he feels so uncomfortable with that.  ‘She’ also hasn’t hit puberty yet (childhood malnutrition + the extensive training at the Academy = delayed puberty and a lot of female trainees never getting their period), so dysmorphia hasn’t quite become a thing yet.  In addition, at the start, the casteless thing is a bigger deal.  Despite the military being pretty much egalitarian, a lot of that develops the longer trainees are together, plus casteless is not just low, but pretty much untouchable.  Like, no one wants to sit near Duo, or be on ‘her’ team for assignment, she has to bunk on her own way over in a corner, etc. 

 

Eventually, this starts to improve a little.  Duo still passionately hates being forced into the military that slaughtered ‘her’ family but knows the skills will be useful and is basically just biding ‘her’ time.  But like I said, Duo is brilliant when it comes to training.  ‘She’ still keeps to herself mostly but eventually a group of other trainees take Duo with them to the Game room, half as a joke on the misfit.  Duo eventually becomes sexually active and Does Not Like.  To clarify – Duo is bisexual and capable of enjoying sexual activity but at this point is starting to develop so the body dysmorphia is coming into play.  He starts to become more aware that his body doesn’t match his identity and starts to have issues with this that affect his training.  THIS grabs Commander G’s attention who’s been keeping a distant eye on his little pet project.  Duo obviously doesn’t trust anyone and isn’t about to talk about it, so Commander G pretty much gets to the bottom of it by raping Duo (not considered rape in L2 because remember, Duo is casteless and still effectively has no rights). 

 

Next?  Now that Commander G knows the issue, he solves it.  He gets Duo top surgery and moves him to the male dorm.  Easy-peasy if you’re an elite and have endless wealth, resources, and rights.  He also basically promises to cover Duo’s full conversion so long as he behaves until graduation – ie. no more attempts to run away.  This leaves Duo basically beholden to the man he hates the most in the world. 

 

Fast-forward to Duo’s last year at the academy.  He’s one of only a dozen students selected for an elite class, who after graduation will be L2’s version of special forces.  This is also the first-time piloting is involved, because the special forces gets all the aircraft.  Duo gets thrown into the pilot seat kinda accidentally in training and ROCKS.  He’s already excelled at stealth, hacking, assassination, infiltration, etc.  Piloting he’s better than his instructors and Commander G is super creepy proud.  He’s become a little obsessed as one may notice, as in his mind, Duo is a resource that he’s taken and developed into a very useful, deadly tool.  This is also the first time Duo actually starts to bond a bit with his other trainees.  They don’t quite become friends but the closest thing to it at this point.  This whole time though, he’s contriving a plan to escape on graduation day, knowing at that point security will be the lowest.  He gets his surgery along with a creepy speech from Commander G about how he’s been a successful gamble.   Graduation day, he hightails it out, knowing everyone is going to be occupied until it’s too late. 

 

Of course, he’s still stuck on L2 and pretty much aware at this point Commander G at least is going to be after him. 

 

Remember that bit about others being able to travel to L2?  Well, the circus has arrived!  Trowa’s circus in fact, which has travelled from L3.  The dream didn’t get too much into detail about backstory, but Quatre is with them and it’s kinda inferred the Winner Corp is funding the circus.  It’s also inferred that although the circus is real enough, Quatre and Trowa are also working together to travel around the Federation incognito to help people and look out for potential issues, which L2 is FULL of.  Duo runs into them and is prepping himself to get turned in and is shocked when they instead agree to help him (Trowa a bit more reluctantly/suspiciously than Quatre).

 

The dream pretty much ended with them helping to smuggle Duo off-planet using the circus as cover.  The rest was kind of like to “next time on such-and-such” preview.  We see Duo piloting a ship with Trowa and Quatre behind him, implying that he’s teamed up with them.  Heero is seen working on another ship with the implication they’ll be meeting up soon, and there’s the briefest glimpse of Wufei.  Back on L2, we see Commander G steaming and gathering the special forces graduates from Duo’s class who he ‘betrayed’ to go after him.  There’s some arguing about it between G and the L2 government which kind of foreshadows a military coup and the L2 military possibly declaring war against the Federation for ‘interference’. 

And then I woke up, lol!

GW Ship Prompts

The usual cliche fanfic prompts, GW-style:

"There’s only one bed...”: 1x3. There was literally only one bed in Trowa’s trailer, where are my fics about this???

Blind Date: SxC. “I don’t know what you were expecting,” Sally said good-naturedly, flagging down the waiter to refill her glass of wine. “Wufei has only six, maybe seven friends - and I’m the only one with breasts.” Cathy blushed hotly.

Royalty AU: 5xM. Wufei and Meilan are in an arranged marriage but it is constantly postponed because they keep challenging each other to an honor duel that always ends in a stalemate.

Coffee Shop AU: 2xH. Duo and Hilde are starving college students that work as part-timers, and fall in love while working together to combat the world’s worst customers at 7 in the morning. Stars the rest of the cast as the world’s worst customers, up to and including never spelling Zechs’s name right, thinking Heero is a serial killer, shipping Trowa and Quatre, and trying to dissuade Relena from adding any more espresso shots to her already extremely-caffeinated drink.

Fake Dating AU: DxR. Dorothy’s idea, some kind of long-term plan to seduce Relena that drives everyone else absolutely insane and many hijinks ensue. Turns out Relena knew the whole time and reciprocates her feelings.

Huddling for Warmth: 1x2x3x4x5. Safehouse has no heater/heat source and it’s hella cold. It was an innocent suggestion from Duo (who frequently did this back on the L2 streets as a kid) that gets a bit UST-like but all of them avoid talking about it despite how obvious it is.

In Vino Veritas: 1xR. “You’ve got such a nice butt,” Relena recalled, remarkably without slurring her words. “Just-Just stop with the spandex shorts. Okay? I need to work, and I can’t concentrate on anything but that ass.”

"Oh my god they were roommates” AU: 1x2. Heero and Duo are boarding school roommates that people think are in love but actually aren’t. Hijinks and heartbreak ensue when people start seeing Duo acting flirty with Hilde, and Heero realizes there might be a nugget of truth to the rumors about him and Duo. In the end, it turns out Hilde agreed to help Duo work on his flirting so that he can finally seduce Heero.

Supernatural AU: 1x5. Heero turns into a werewolf but doesn’t recognize the symptoms, and is also internally fighting a crush on Wufei. Wufei misconstrues the symptoms as Heero flirting with him via animal body language and tries to flirt back the same way. Trowa correctly identifies the symptoms and tries to help Heero with both his lycanthropy and awful flirting skills. Duo and Quatre pretend not to know any of them.

Teacher AU: 3x4. Quatre’s the music teacher, Trowa’s the Dance/Gym teacher, and they have to work together to put on a school musical. They fall instantly in love and their sickeningly-sweet honeymoon phase makes the students put on the most bloody, violent musical ever made.

Okay I am not to going to do a whole ass multiplication table to answer this ask but you asked for it!

Ok I am not doing absolute crack!ships involving like one off characters with one off characters in different eps with each other. So this mainly is going to involve major and re-occurring characters. No ships involving the super old characters (the engineers, Quinze) or the super young (Mariemeia) is included. Also I don’t acknowledge Frozen Teardrop so no characters exclusive to that will be featured here.

Also with one exception I am only doing characters that either interact with the character or whom the fandom has made a thing

Dorothy x Catherine: I am super into for a ship where neither character ever meets the other. But I would think it would be a great opposites attract sort of thing. My Grade: C (Just because this is my feelings re: ships where there is no in canon interaction)

Duo x Hilde (2xH): Absolutely cute, totally normal and very respectable. My grade: A

Duo x Quatre (2x4): They would work, but also nothing really interesting or compelling about them as a romantic unit. My grade: D

Duo x Relena (2xR): As a total flash in the pan, completely AU thing sure, but as a serious thing? No. My grade: D

Duo x Trowa (2x3): Duo would do a lot to lighten Trowa up, it could be workable given the right circumstances. My grade: D

Duo x Wufei (2x5): I think Wufei is a little TOO intense for Duo. My grade: E

Heero x Catherine (1xC): He’d be dead in one minute. My grade: E

Heero x Dorothy (1xD): HAHAHAHA this is hilarious, I find it interesting, also she’d actually kill him. Also, she’s gay. My grade: E

Heero x Zechs (1x6): This could have been a really interesting enemies to lovers ship if Zechs wasn’t such a douche. My grade: E

Noin x Sally (9xS): So, So, So good. Drift compatible should have been a thing. My grade: A

Quatre x Catherine Bloom (4xC): Quatre’s gay and Catherine doesn’t like him. My Grade: E

Quatre x Dorothy (4xD): They both deserve better and are also gay and I hate how they are paired in every het fic on the het side of fandom. I don’t like it. My grade: F

Quatre x Noin (4x9): Quatre’s gay, so not really. Grade: E

Quatre x Relena (4xR): I admit that I read a couple of fics once. But like again I don’t think Quatre is really attracted to woman. BUT IN A PLATONIC SENSE, they are great. My Grade: B (FOR THE PLATONIC POTENTIAL)

Quatre x Trowa (3x4): One of the best dudeslash pairings, they just click, but they have this fraught tension what with what Quatre did mid series, but they really are a GOOD. My grade: A+

Relena x Dorothy (RxD): Very solid, definite attraction there. Peak dynamic. My grade: A

6. Do you have a certain kind of ship you’re more attracted to?

I answered that a little bit here, maybe... friends to lovers? That kind of best-friend-to-something-more. Some that really fulfil that for me are often the non-canon ones (Bellarke, Buddie, Barchie... they also all begin with a B... what’s up with that). 

I really love two broken souls coming together and helping each other heal, I love things that start slow and build into something intense and amazing and universe-altering.

(As an aside, I got stuck on this one for a minute and looked over at @mandsangelfox and she genuinely stared at me for a moment before I went ‘fandom’, not ‘longboats’.)

18. What is your favorite unpopular ship?

That’s quite a hard one because I don’t tend to know what is or isn’t popular or unpopular? I have a few rare-pairs that I like, and I have a few that probably might be hated? But I’m not involved enough in the fandoms to know for sure.

I ship Jace & Alec, which I know is unpopular in the Shadowhunters fandom but that place is terrifying and I’ve never set foot over there and don’t intend to. I also used to ship Duo & Quatre from Gundam Wing, which was completely rare at the time since it was 1x2, 3x4 (which I never shipped because I hated Trowa with a passion). I guess I’ve been quite lucky in that, for the most part, the ships I’ve had, though uncommon, tend not to be universally hated.

OH! And Max & Alec from Dark Angel. I really hated Logan. /o\

I’m gonna be thinking about this one for ages now... 

25. What are your favorite ships from a dead fandom?

Tatio, from Digimon. It was the first fandom I ever got involved with when I was eleven and fanfiction.net was the answer to everything. Max&Alec from Dark Angel... I mean, not to get philosophical on main but what really counts as a dead fandom? I would still write some stuff for those fandoms in a heartbeat... Or fusions/crossovers/AUs...
