I've been going down the rabbit hole of digging up old Qubo shows to watch for nostalgia's sake and I must say, all the theme songs slap.

I am so sad this channel is dead, personally, I remember PBS Kids better but whenever Qubo decided to work it had some great shows.

PBSKids was def a staple of my childhood but did anyone else also watch Qubo? I had it as part of whatever tv plan my parents had and any time I talked about these shows to my friends they didn't know what I was talking about. That's how I found out they were like, shows that were originally aired in Canada and other places? It was wild tbh
I've never heard of Qubo till now but I'm looking at the programs list and I remember so many of these (Especially Babar)

Heya!
.I’m not really one to create petitions for stuff, but this came to my attention and I decided that, hey, maybe I could try to do something and see what happens?
I don’t know how many of you know this, but E.W Scripps has announced that they’re planning to shut down Qubo with their acquisition of Qubo’s parent company near the end of February. I don’t know about you, but that makes me livid!!!
I know that many people have a childhood connection to that channel in the 14 or so years it’s been on the air, with it offering a lot of obscure-ish gems such as Jacob Two-Two/Jane and the Dragon/Being Ian.
They want to replace Qubo with more of their networks, the Katz networks, but who has connection to that? Who has a fondness for Katz? WHERE’S THE NOSTALGIA, E.W? WHERE IS IT?!
So, I’ve created this petition to try to stop E.W Scripps from making a very foolish and stupid mistake! It would mean a lot to me if you sign it/signal boost it so that it gets around!

This song has haunted me for years. I can’t go a whole week without finding myself singing it while making some tea or playing Animal Crossing. I just want to live in peace but these aliens that taught me the types of clouds won’t let me.

Family movie recommendations but hey have LGBT in them
I might as well make this post before I forget, and even though I'm straight, I still support LGBT. I just ended up falling in love with a man, but that doesn't take away the fact that I will support anyone who gay, lesbian, bi, ect... Just love who you want to love. I'm also a Christian and I know that people think Christians don't support LGBT but a lot of us do, we believe that Jesus wants us to support everyone and love everyone, and not hate them for a stupid decision. As a straight person, you might think I might not be the bets person to pick out nice LGBT family movies and maybe I'm not, but I am an expert when it comes to underrated family and kids movies. My best friend is bi and she has most of the same feelings about these movies as I do. When Disney tries to be "inclusive" and supportive, they either sneak a gay kiss in the background, or make a big deal out of it. Got news for ya, none of these movies on the lists are Disney!
Early Man (It looks like the villain has a boyfriend. Dino is his assistant, while he has another man named Stefano, come and rub his back while he's in the bathtub. There's a gay kiss scene with two cavemen in the background after they win the soccer game and there's also a gay kiss scene with Dug and Hognob, but Hognob's a pig.)
One Stormy Night (Okay, I don't think Mei and Gabu are gay, but Zack and Beach probably are. The author of the books didn't flat out confirm this, but he doesn't care if people used their imagination and made any of the characters gay. I feel like Zack & Beach are either gay, or just really close friends. They're not confirmed to be though)
Duck Duck Goose (The two cranes are actually confirmed to be gay. Though they maybe minor characters, they're adorable and funny. Duck Duck Goose is also an unforgettable movie with great characters. The story focuses more on family and a goose learning to make the right decision and help ducklings, so anyone can enjoy it)
These next ones are technically SHOWS, NOT MOVIES!
George and Martha (It's a cartoon that focuses on two hippos, a guy and girl, but they have two male alligator friends who are confirmed to be gay... and this was a 90s cartoon! This is the oldest one on the list, it's like from '97 or something. And before you go on judging it for being a 90s cartoon, it's not like Rockos modern life or PPG, it's way more kidlike than those. It's not filled with a ton of dirty jokes or anything. The two alligators are named Oscar and Wild and the have a puppy who George and Martha babysit, in an episode, and both alligators refer to themselves as "Daddy" to the puppy, meaning that they're both fathers to the puppy. Pretty woke for a 90s cartoon, eh? The show was based off a book series and no one ever heard of it because it aired on the Qubo channel and even though I had cable, I was one of those lucky ducks who got to watch Qubo.) I'm an American btw, idk if people outside of the U.S heard if it either
ToddWorld (Okay, yeah, they showed gay lions in the background but it's still a little bit of representation and it's explained to little kids in a nice way so that they can learn to accept it later on. I mean, it's not explained in a way that they won't understand. I also heard they mention it in the books saying "Some families have two mommies or two daddies" or something, but I never read the book, I just heard someone on Instagram mention it).
Even if you're not in the LGBT community, these are still amazing movies! You can still watch them. Again, I am NOT apart of the LGBT community, but I still support it. If you ever heard of any of these movies or shows, tell me about how you feel about them. Which ones surprised you the most, probably the 90s one, huh? It surprised me too. If you give these a try, tell me what you think

Everytime I see one of those posts about forgotten kids shows I never see anything from shit like the vortex/qubo (the only kids channels I had on cable for a bit) some of my favorites were Jacob two two, the mysteries of Alfred the hedgehog, Jane and the dragon, the zula patrol, 3-2-1 penguins, my friend rabbit, Willa's wild life, pearlie, and Babar.

what would be their favorite tv shows as kids
listen,,, growing up i never had cable (in the us btw so these would be us centric shows. i would love to see the international takes on this) but i did end up getting cable later in life, so out of the selection of shows i'll be pulling from PBS, Qubo, Nickelodeon and Disney. I will also be linking the imdb to the shows lmaoo. i hope these bring back childhood memories for y'all.
ok ok so artem's favorite tv show as like a child probably would have been cyberchase. the gateway drug to sci-fi honestly lmaooo. i don't think artem would have been picky when it came to shows, he just watched what was on, but deadass he would never miss cyberchase cuz he found the story compelling. his favorite character would probably be Inez and you cannot fucken tell me otherwise. he sees a fellow bookworm in her and he loved it.
luke's favorite was mysteries of alfred the hedgehog. there is no god damn fucken thing you can tell me that would change my mind. this man loves biology and is a STEM boi at heart, ofc this man would love a show about detectives and science. this man also probably watched bill nye and had a blast doing it. bRO ZABOOMAFOO WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS SHIT, AND WILD KRATTS? 10/10 for him.
vyn probably never sat down to watch a show but moreso watched the movies of the shows. he watches shows now for sure but as a kid it was movies or nothing cuz with that bougie ass lifestyle he probably didn't have time to like,,, watch a tv show. he probably loved phineas and ferb: across the second dimension. i feel like they had the freedom that vyn wanted, but it backfired bc now vyn is a try hard and wants to do things as spectacularly as phineas did. speaking of, i feel like he would have also liked the disney version of atlantis. milo could go out exploring,,, plz,,, his aesthetic.
marius, this mf (affectionately) had every tv station available to him. he would have loved the more live action shit. the suite life of zack and cody? his shit. [redacted] and josh? probably could quote it for you. iCarly? he probably funded the reboot lmaooo. what can he say? sam was his spirit animal. but, unironically, his absolute favorite thing would have been fetch with ruff ruffman. idk something about the dog gameshow just made him go crazy. devoted fan and wanted to be on it but he was mildly self aware that while he could, it wouldn't mean he would loose fair and square. so he was just content living through the kids who did make it in.

sad to know Qubo is no longer around, but I can understand why.
All they did was rerun the same shows over and over and over and over and over for years with absolutely nothing new ever airing as far as I’m aware.
it was all the same shows:
Pecola (same art style as Gregory Horror Show, but it’s 100% kid friendly) Willa’s Wild Life Zula Patrol Being Ian (my favorite!) Grossology (HATE it, personally) Sidekick (this was great, very entertaining, wish I got to see it more) Elliot Kid (not too bad?) Sally Bollywood (also not too bad?) Jacob Two-Two (VERY good!) Pippi Longstocking Pearlie the Park Fairy (Ehh, it was alright. Fern’s voice is my voice headcanon for Mina from Pokemon!) Turbo Dogs The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog (I love the style, very interesting show, Wild Kratts reminds me of it for some reason..) Piggly Winks (I enjoyed it, my mom liked it) Jane and the Dragon (my dad loved this, it wasn’t bad at all tbh) Spliced (MAN This one was weird)
and many more.
So it’s easy to see why it’d not do well in this modern time. they desperately needed some new shows for years and never aired anything else. it was just reruns after reruns after reruns after reruns. they never bothered to air anything else which sucks, but that’s life I guess?
I do remember a few shows fondly that I’ve watched on the ion channel, I never knew it existed until several years ago and always swapped over to that when PBS Kids started showing a show I didn’t like or when the cartoons ended and it was back to adult KERA shows or the news. eugh.
but I do have some fond members nonetheless.

Favorite tv shows as a child?
As a young young child I mostly watched Dora, Blue’s Clues, Martha Speaks, Curious George, Oswald, Arthur, Backyardigans, Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman, Wonder Pets, Super Why, Jane and the Dragon, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Zaboommafoo, Recess, Rolly Polli Olly, Kim Possible, Wonder Pets, Little Einsteins, Dragon Tales, Liberty Kids, Oswald, 3-2-1 Penguins, Lazy Town, Lilo and Stitch the series, The Wiggles, Rugrats, Sid the Science Kid, Babar, Word World, Between the Lions, and most PBS shows. A little later I loved My Little Pony, Phineas and Ferb, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Jessie, Mighty Med, Austin and Ally, Dog with a Blog, Good Luck Charlie, Pound Puppies, and Wild Kratts (a huuge favorite).
Oh WOW I watched a lot of shows. Mostly PBS, Qubo, Sprouts, Noggin, and Disney. At least most were educational. XD And about half of these I still enjoy or would enjoy.
I’mma post before this gets any longer.
