The Grant Legacy - Generation 2 - The Second Act - Part 3

The Straud/Blake/James and Liberty Household - Forgotten Hollow

Asa has let James continues his experiments on him to find a cure for vampirism. They continue to do them out of town so no one knows, no one except his ex-wife, Annalise, who has been giving him medical advice on how to try to treat some of his symptoms from the experiments. Oddly the things he's been experiencing, things like fatigue and headaches are things that humans experience but he's still a vampire. Asa feels like he's stuck in the worst of both worlds. He does worry that maybe James does plan to wipe out any vampire he doesn't like - if he is successful in his quest that is. Asa has to take the chance, he no longer wishes to go on as a vampire. A small messed up part of him hopes to get his hands on the cure, make sure it works and give it to Annalise. He knows she allowed him to turn her out of her love for him. He could give Annalise her life back possibly. Though he knows things could go horribly wrong, he's still willing to risk it.

Liberty has decided, with her sister's support, to go after her dream from her human life. She has entered the intern program at the space center in San Myshuno. The daily travel is nothing for someone who can fly as a bat to her job. James wasn't too excited at first about his wife working but soon realized it has certain benefits- she's not always around to catch him doing things he shouldn't be doing. Though James did keep his word - he didn't interfere with the delivery of the Vatore offspring. That doesn't mean he's been a perfect angel, though he's been staying to Forgotten Hollow for the most part - outside of his weekly trips with Asa to Granite Falls for his quest to cure vampirism, something Liberty still has no idea about. Of course when he does succeed and he believes he will, she will be safe and as promised, so will Annalise. James rarely makes promises but when he does, he actually keeps them.

Vladislaus Straud has been more and more the Count of old lately. Grouchy, seeking to be alone, playing his pipe organ all hours of the night which makes it so James can't sleep at night. That one put a smile on his face. The only thing that makes him smile these days. He hasn't seen Lilith in person in months, though he catches glimpses of her from afar. Never did he think he'd miss someone but he misses her. He wants to take her hostage, tie her up and make her stay in his basement for a few weeks before he takes her to his bedroom and tries to lure her back into his bed, but enough about his coffin daydreams.

The Cents Household - Del Sol Valley

Back on her own in the huge Mansion she had her agent buy for her, Inna has been focusing on her career. She's had several offers for movie roles and is carefully selecting her next one as she may or may not sometimes browse certain social media platforms for information on Vera Grant-Vatore. Oddly, she hears about the birth of her daughter with Caleb on a tabloid rag at the local coffee shop. The headline is printed above an obviously doctored picture of Evie, not Vera, holding a bat in a baby blanket. Inna rolled her eyes at the cover but the story turned out to be true once she asked around the vampire community. Why does it bother her so much that Caleb has had a baby with this woman? Maybe she doesn't like him being happy after he robbed her of human life, though being a vampire has allowed her all the time in the world to pursue her dream of being a A-List Celebrity and movie star. For that, she is oddly grateful to him. It's twisted web in her mind and her heart.

In pursuit of the fragile heart

Chapter 2

Primrose drops her belongings on the floor as she walks to her bed, plopping down onto the soft, cozy blanket. She doesn’t care to take off her shoes, or that her manuscripts are scattered on the floor, she just wants to stay here, unbothered by her surroundings.

The scarf around her neck feels warm and fluffy. The greyish color reminds her of those beautiful eyes, the silver orbs shine brightly like the stars in the sky. Even to this day, she is still captivated by them. Never in her life has Primrose thought about seeing him again, and yet, this scarf and the warmth that still lingers around her prove her wrong…

Caleb Vatore…

Just the thought of his name makes her face heat up…

She remembers very well, those memories of many years ago when she was just a teenager attending a summer camp in Glimmerbrook, meeting Caleb for the first time.

If she had to describe their situation back then, Primrose would say that they had been through thick and thin together. From healing his wound to joining his quest to save his friend, Inna Cent, to celebrate their victory after defeating Professor Thebe. They have been through them all…

And during that time together, Primrose developed feelings for him. How could she not? He was the one who took her in after she was being chased by Professor Thebe, aiding her on the quest to find Marlin Ember and helping her destroy Thebe’s wicked plan to turn the magic town of Glimmerbrook into the blood bank of house Straud. With Caleb by her side, she felt like she could conquer everything. His kindness and how he cared for her, the tenderness in his eyes whenever he patted her head gently, how safe she felt whenever he pulled her into a hug. Everything he did made her feel so special, so loved…

Caleb Vatore was her first love…

But falling in love with him was her mistake…

He said no to her feelings but never gave her a reason. He told her that he couldn’t accept them, even though he was grateful that she loved him. Her heart shattered into pieces upon hearing this and then, the next morning, Caleb was no longer with her. He left before she could say goodbye, telling L.Faba and Marlin that it would be better if they hadn’t met.

The intensity of her heartbreak was too much to bear to the point Primrose could no longer attend classes at Glimmerbrook School of Magic. So she went home, crying in her mom’s arms as she mended her broken heart. But even when many years have passed by, somewhere in her heart still holds a small space for him.

“I’m crazy…” she murmurs under her breath, hanging onto the scarf tightly “I am crazy…”

She is crazy to believe that he came to see her after all these years. There is a fire light up in her heart, warm and cozy, something that she has pushed aside and ignored for too long. However, the way Caleb appeared in front of her, saying that he misses her dearly, something about that doesn’t sit right and it would be a lie if she said that it’s not painful to see him.

Too painful that she thought she might burst into tears in front of him…

But Primrose is proud of herself, she has to keep her dignity and it is not worth wasting her tears on the man who abandoned her years ago. She needs to keep her mind straight, she can’t allow herself to be the victim anymore. This peaceful life of hers, he doesn’t have the right to enter and be a part of it, and Primrose will make sure that he stays out of it.

She will make sure he can never enter her life anymore…

************************************************************************ The first thing Caleb sees when he walks into his mansion is his sister’s beautiful chocolate orbs shining with hope, the hope that her brother is able to find the woman of his life.

“Caleb!” Lilith walks up to him, behind her is a young man around her age whom she calls her husband, Kian “How was it? Did you find her?”

“Yeah, I did…”

The smile on his face is rueful as he trails off, slipping off his long coat and giving it to the butler.

“Thank you, Richard.”

“Of course, my lord.” the elderly man nods his head “I will prepare some tea. A good cup of chamomile will surely chase away those negative thoughts of yours.”

Caleb chuckles as he sits on the elegant burgundy sofa, watching his younger sister and her husband settle down on the opposite side of the coffee table.

“How was it? Did she say anything?” Lilith’s face beams up “She must be very happy to see you, yeah?”

“Lilith, calm down. Caleb can’t answer anything if you keep asking him questions.” Kian sweatdrops, tapping his wife lightly on her shoulders.

“O-of course…” she blushes at his comment “Sorry brother, I got a little too excited…”

“It’s okay, I don’t mind. Besides, it’s not like she is happy to see me…”

Lilith bites her bottom lips, knowing that her excitement is inappropriate for his situation right now. She can see how those silver eyes are filled with sadness and disappointment as if he is blaming himself for everything that has happened up to now. She hates to see her brother sad, he has sacrificed everything for this family, for everyone around him, and for the world of vampires to live peacefully with humans once again.

When the war between house Vatore and house Straud broke out, Caleb left behind all his dreams and ambitions to devote himself fully to the future of his family. And along with those dreams, he let go of the person he loves and holds dearly to his heart, the young girl he met at Glimmerbrook when he was rescuing Inna Cent.

Caleb, with his vision of living peacefully with humans and no longer relying on human blood to survive, was too progressive for an old vampire lord like Vladislaus Straud to handle. To Vladislaus, humans were only mere blood sources, a weak species that deserved no respect from them. However, house Vatore’s idea became more prominent in the vampire world and Caleb rose to become an important figure, Vladislaud knew that only a war could settle the differences, once and for all.

A civil war broke out between House Vatore and House Straud, a battle to determine whose ideas would influence the next generation of vampires of years to come.

During such a critical time, Caleb had to put his family and people above everything, even if it meant casting away his own feelings for his beloved Primrose. No matter how deep and genuine his love for her was, it was not the right time for both of them. On top of that, Primrose was a human and to have a dhampir as the next heir of the family would throw house Vatore into another chaos, so Caleb chose to let her go.

Lilith remembers very well when his friends came and tried to talk him out of that silly crush of his. It was when they got home after the successful rescue mission and Inna Cent called out his feelings for Primrose, believing that the love he had for her would cause a huge outrage and demoralize their army.

While the decision to leave Primrose lies solely on Caleb, Lilith can’t help but want to blame his friends too. Those who force her brother to push aside his own needs and feelings and then have the nerve to introduce him to many female vampires to ensure a pureblood heir for the Vatore family.

“Don’t worry, Caleb. I’m sure she will open her heart to you eventually…”

Kian looks at his brother-in-law, offering an encouraging smile. But his comment doesn’t make Caleb feel any better. The way Primrose’s eyes look at him, he can see how agonizing they are, as if she is looking at a ghost. To appear in front of her many years after their separation, he is not proud of himself for scaring her like that.

“I will go to bed now, it has been a long day…”

“Of course, Caleb. You deserve a good rest.”

Lilith’s brown eyes glued on her brother’s back, sighing. Even when he is able to protect his family and people, even when he is praised to be the hero coming out of the civil war, even when he has many people who would lie down their lives for him, Caleb always looks so lonely, as if no one can understand the pain he carries in his heart.

“Don’t worry, Lilith. Caleb is more capable of dealing with this.”

Knowing his wife’s worries, Kian steps in with words of advice, smiling as he plants a kiss on her cheek.

“But Kian, how can I not worry? Caleb, he’s…” Lilith’s voice trails off, not knowing what to say.

It hurts her to see that somber look in her older brother’s eyes, the pain and disappointment that have haunted him for so many years, the guilt of leaving the person he holds dear to his heart and now, seeking for that person’s forgiveness.

“Lilith, the way to one’s heart is not an easy path to walk on. You know that, right…?” Kian’s lilac eyes shine a light of understanding “Caleb will be alright. He is more than ready to take on this task, remember?”

“I guess you’re right…”

************************************************************************ Caleb closes the door behind him, running his hand through his hair and sighing heavily. The young vampire lord lays on the bed, ignoring the possibility of his clothes getting wrinkly. It is only behind the door of his private quarters that Caleb is able to strip off his professionalism and become more mundane with his life.

His body, despite its lack of natural heat, is surprisingly warm. The lingering of her apple scent is surprisingly soothing. His vampire nature gives him an enhanced sense of smell, which sometimes can be quite troublesome, especially when he is in a party setting, where the heavy perfume worn by the ladies can give him a headache.

But Primrose’s bright apple scent is different, maybe it’s because she only puts a little bit of perfume on herself, or maybe it’s her natural fragrance. Either way, it’s nice and soothing, and it keeps lingering on his clothes.

Primrose…

She has changed so much since the last time he saw her. But then again, it has been years since that day.

Her previous short hair is now reaching her waist, shining and lush. Her midnight-colored eyes shine bright like the sea of celestials in the sky, yet they hold a dreaded expression upon seeing him. The sweet and innocent face she had years ago is now replaced by a more mature and complex look, the light makeup adds a touch of color to her porcelain skin.

Primrose is no longer the little girl he knew years ago, she is an adult, a beautiful young woman…

But if there is anything that stays the same, it’s probably Primrose’s height. Her petite stature is a stark contrast to the mature and alluring vibe around her.

The thought draws out a chuckle from him…

But the reality is hitting him, that dreaded look on her face, how terrified she was upon seeing him, how she looked like she was going to cry. Primrose didn’t want to see him…

Caleb can’t blame her, he knows the pain he caused her. He was the one who chose to deny her feelings and left without saying anything. For a young girl at the age between teenage and adulthood, the rejection hurts Primrose deeply.

It was for the sake of his people that he had made that choice, a choice that had left Primrose heartbroken. Even when he had reasons for what he did, to Caleb, they were unacceptable.

He could have done it a different way, but the thought of seeing her again the morning after rejecting her feelings made his stomach turn, so Caleb left. The rejection and abandonment cause Primrose her heartbreak to the point that she can not continue her studies at Glimmerbrook. Caleb knows about this because it was Marlin who informed him about this. If it wasn’t for Marlin Ember, Caleb would never be able to find Primrose.

For the fire sage to set aside his irritation and give Caleb a second chance to redeem himself, the vampire lord is forever grateful.

After the civil war ended and he ascended the hierarchy ladder to become the most influential vampire lord of the supernatural world, Caleb found himself always looking out to the window with guilt slowly eating him. He had never forgiven himself for doing that to her. Days turned into months, months turned into years, and Caleb still yearned to see her again.

Lilith, his forever supportive little sister, told him to face reality and follow the calling of his heart. Caleb hesitated at first, but the thought of seeing her again lighted a warm fire inside him, something that no woman had been able to do.

He wanted to see her, he yearned to meet her, his lovely raven head...

Inna Cent, his friend, tried to reason with him but no more would Caleb allow anyone to dictate his heart. He had followed her advice and left Primrose heartbroken, while his action was for the greater good, he hurt her, the woman that Caleb swore to always protect.

Caleb contacted Marlin Ember, an acquaintance of his and Primrose, and asked about her whereabouts. There were scoffing and sneering here and there, but the blond mage gave in and asked him to come to Glimmerbrook School of Magic if he wanted to learn more about Primrose. Caleb accepted the request.

Upon arrival, he is greeted by a nonchalant Marlin Ember and a disappointed L.Faba. They told him everything they knew about Primrose, her heartbreak, her decision to leave Glimmerbrook, and her request to learn magic under them instead, they let him know it all. To Caleb, these were valuable intel but at the same time, they were also the constant reminder of the pain he caused her.

Marlin agreed to give him Primrose’s location, but L.Faba fought against it, believing that Caleb had no right to know anything after his grave mistake. She refused to let him hurt her precious student again. But the fire sage stepped in and offered a piece of advice for Lumera, telling her that what Caleb did was valid due to the intensity of the civil war at that time.

Lumera, still holding skepticism over Caleb’s wish to see Primrose again, knew that she could not argue her husband out of this, decided to drop the topic and left angrily. But before she teleported away, Lumera gave Caleb a warning of what she would do if he hurt Primrose again. The venomous look in her deep purple eyes is as if I can strike him down immediately.

And now, finally able to see her after years of longing almost makes Caleb acts on his own instinct, to whisk her away and tell her how much he misses her and how sorry he is for breaking her heart. But the young lord knows that it takes more than just a few heartfelt words to work things out between them.

The scar he has left in her heart is undeniable, the pain that even after so many years passed by still resides in her mind. Caleb is not a fool to be oblivious to this, he too holds onto the guilt of leaving her. Primrose has never been a good liar, his lovely raven head is someone who wears her heart in her sleeves.

When she tells him to leave her alone, those pretty onyx orbs have betrayed her. The vampire lord can see through her lies, that spark of affection still resides in the depths of her eyes, longing but also afraid. She is afraid of this, of his sudden appearance, of what can possibly happen between them, of how she can not endure another heartbreak. The once beautiful bud of blossom finally grows, but her growth is nothing but agonizing and despairing, as the lovely flower – Primrose – is fragile and vulnerable. Her heart, guarded by many layers of walls, protects its owner from the potential pain and heartache.

Caleb knows that he can't rush this delicate process of rebuilding what he has broken. Primrose needs time to process what is going on and he has to earn her trust again. But despite the future hardship of his quest for Primrose’s heart, Caleb is determined to do whatever it takes to make amends for the pain he has caused and give her the love Primrose truly deserves.

Now Where Were We? (Super Sim Update)

Hoo boy. Here we go.

Kinsley maxed the Social Media PR career, got engaged to Kyle and moved out to Tartosa with him, then celebrated with the parents at Stella's restaurant. Then they got married in their front yard - it would have been nice if anyone cared other than Cade (pumped) and Emma (...overcome with emotion?).

And of course it didn't take long for Kate Kyleson to be born.

(I'm going to acknowledge that Cade and Tate have both also had more children, but I honestly can't remember their names and I'm not sure if I have screenshots of them all... next time I play, I'll have to get a screenshot of the family tree.)

Sadly, the time has come (and gone) for Dexter to become an elder. I already gave him more time with Stella once, giving him a Potion of Youth when I gave her the first one, but now it's time to begin the process of moving on. Stella still has a lot to accomplish on her Super Sim journey, and a lot of it is going to be much easier if I only have to keep track of her (looking at you, Jungle Adventure and Strangerville).

Ever the romantic, Dexter set out to prove that even this new phase of his life can't dampen his love with Stella, so they renewed their vows at the Romance Festival.

I also took Stella on a little side-quest to paint all the Grilled Cheese (and Grilled-Cheese-Adjacent) paintings in the game, and gave her her own exhibition at the Arts Center in San Myshuno.

As far as Stella's Super Sim tasks, we have completed the following since my last post:

I still need to finish the Critic career, and do both branches of the Social Media career. To be completely honest, I'm probably going to cheat through the PR branch of the Social Media career, since I just did it with Kinsley (and it was a PITA).

Stella has also taken an interest in vampires, in preparation for her next adventure. She's pretty good friends with the Vatores (specifically Caleb - someone's going to have to turn us, and they have a pipe organ we can practice on, instead of putting that gaudy thing in my house), and she has already maxed the Vampire Lore skill, and reached Level 8 of the Pipe Organ. (I do have a realism gripe about the latter - if you've mastered the piano, you would not have absolutely no idea how to play a pipe organ, i.e. start the skill at 0). Vlad is already dead in this save (a victim of Neighborhood Stories), but I moved Stella's vampire coworker from the Detective career into his house, to preserve the integrity of Forgotten Hollow. Maybe we'll do a side-quest to revive Vlad. You never know.

5: Qiqi: I feel particularly affectionate towards her, and just want to give her a nice home and life. I also want to try her playstyle and skillset!

4: Albedo: I have no explanation for this one I just desire to have him on my teams. I like the flower-vator. He seems fun to use but I'm not sure since I haven't had a chance to play as him. Thanks story quest :/

3: Zhongli: What can I say? I want my dad. Also he's fun to play as.

2: Kazuha: so much fun oh my god. I'm saving my primos for him right now because he will be coming home as soon as he drops. maybe I could even get a Kazuha and Qiqi combo if I'm lucky who knows!

1: Xiao: Xiaoxiaoxiaoxiaoxiaoxiao Do I even need to explain this one? He's amazing and once I get him I'll pull for his signature weapon too hehe. As long as he comes back next year, leaving me plenty of time to pick up primos for both. If not, I'll wait for it to cycle cack around.

VATORE: Favorite occult?

For now I'd have to go with vampires just because of uhhhh *gestures vaguely at the state of aliens and mermaids* alone. I actually haven't played with witches much yet! And we'll see if this changes with werewolves bc they look neat :-) Though honestly I feel like if we ever got a refresh of Get to Work and aliens were spiced up a bit I'd probably have a soft spot for them bc of nostalgia!

GOTH: Favorite townie?

It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to choose just one LMAO. I love both the Vatores, Morgyn Ember obvs, then I'm super fond of the Caliente sisters and have been since sims 2 days, with a particular love for Nina! Though obviously i ignore their original sims 4 versions I don't know her. I'm also fond of Rahul Chopra since one of my sims settled down w/ him when I was playing thru cottage living and I feel like he has a lot of personality and charm. Lov him. Just wants to travel and bake chocolate pies I respect that I can relate

LANDGRAAB: Favorite expansion pack?

I think honestly Cottage Living with Eco Lifestyle as a close second! I really like Rags to Riches type gameplay and both added more depth to that. Both have awesome worlds, good CAS items (I am looking away from from the jean skirt,) and lovely build & buy. I've had continuous fun with the gameplay too. W/ Cottage Living I think my favorite thing was just how alive the world felt, I loved all the quests and stuff. W/ Eco Lifestyle the Community Spaces were a GAMECHANGER for me. Just all in all love them and I think they're both extremely solid for expansion packs.

Future: What is #1 on your TS4 wishlist?

HONESTLY.... BANDS. Or an overall music pack. I've wanted bands since the beginning, and then even more so after Get Famous. It's so niche but I think a pack focused around them would have some REALLY good CAS+Build/buy and then I have a lot of sims I'd enjoy the gameplay with.

Talented, Brilliant, Incredible:

Vita in Città - Amo lo scenario, amo gli appartamenti, amo i festival, amo la multi-etnicità. C’è chi preferisce il sistema di appartamenti del 2, e per carità avete ragione, ma un pack che ti permette di andare ai Gamecon è 11/10 a prescindere.

Stagioni - Il calendario è geniale, e l’aggiunta di abiti estivi ed invernali è il massimo per chi ama il CAS come me. Ma devo essere sincera, ho messo Stagioni nella categoria “T,B,I” perché è un pack che giochi anche se “non giochi”, subisci l’effetto delle stagioni, del meteo ecc. Potrei rinunciare a tutti i pack, ma non a questo.

Vita sull’Isola - sì è pieno di lacune (i resort in particolare), sì non è paragonabile all’isola del 3 dove potevi giocare sott'acqua, sì le sirene non sono poi così speciali, ma Dio l’ambientazione è la più bella di tutto il gioco. Isole polinesiane, un vulcano, i delfini, cioè questo dlc ha conquistato il mio cuore nonostante i suoi 3000 difetti.

Avventura nella giungla - Qui sono di parte perché mi affascinano molto le civiltà precolombiane, quindi per me un pack ispirato ai maya/aztechi è top tier a prescindere. Ma il gameplay è pazzesco, l’abilità dell’archeologo >>>, i templi che cambiano, gli scheletri, la modalità compra/costruisci ispirata alla cultura messicana (ed è molto affine anche allo stile mediterraneo, e cavolo morirei per un pack mediterranean style, e AnG ne dà un assaggio). Cioè credo che ad oggi sia il game pack più bello e originale di ts4.

Regno della magia - Gli incantatori a parer mio sono i sim occulti fatti meglio, il pannello delle abilità >>>, gli incantesimi e le pozioni sono tantissime, i 3 saggi sono fighissimi (peccato non si possano scegliere), il quartiere non è un granché ok, ma il regno magico è bellissimo (sono innamoratissima della mini diagon alley), le collezioni sono tantissime, insomma è un gameplay ricchissimo. Unica pecca (oltre a quella dei saggi fissi) secondo me sono i famigli, mi aspettavo un pelino di più, non dico dovessero diventare degli animali veri e propri, ma qualche interazione in più-. Ma comunque è un dlc top tier assolutamente.

Cool:

Nuove Stelle - La dinamica dei v1ps è spettacolare, la reputazione che influisce su tutti i sim (e non solo i famosi), il pannello della fama è la vita, e la carriera attiva dell’attore è pazzesca, molto più bella delle altre carriere attive, e le premiazioni e i paparazzi mi spaccano. Inoltre apprezzo tantissimo che la fama possa essere conquistata anche con lavori che col pack non c’entrano (tipo lo scrittore). Questo pack poteva stare benissimo nella categoria “T,B,I”, ma non l’ho messo lì perché secondo me ha una lacuna pesante, ovvero la mancanza della carriera da cantante o la possibilità di creare una band. Ok in the sims 4 (gioco base) c’è la carriera da musicista, ma non è la stessa cosa. 

Università - Lo scenario mi piace un sacco, l’abilità di robotica >>>>, la possibilità di usare una bicicletta è comoda, i corsi sono tantissimi (e questo è sia un pregio che un difetto), le attività extrascolatiche sono belle, le presentazioni che ve lo dico a fare, la società segreta mi uccide, la dinamica dei coinquilini mi permette di trasformare tutte le fic università au in una partita di the sims (sks), però... troppi rabbit hole? Cioè so che chiedo un po’ troppo, però mi sarebbe piaciuto partecipare attivamente ad una lezione. So che forse questa cosa sarebbe più indicata per elementari/medie/superiori (e sarebbe pure fico visto che coi bambini non gioco mai), però un po’ ci speravo.

Vampiri - I vampiri sono i sim occulti fatti meglio, secondi solo agli incantatori praticamente, i Vatore (e il CAS) mi fanno pensare agli emo (nooostalgia nostalgia canaglia), e Vladislaus sebbene sia un po’ cagaminch*a è uno dei sim più iconici del gioco. Però il quartiere non mi piace moltissimo? Troppo piccolo, e mi aspettavo qualcosa in più come che ne so, un quartiere segreto. Però ripeto, i vampiri sono eccezionali, perciò la categoria cool è meritata. 

Giorno di bucato - Diciamo che gli stuff pack ovviamente sono molto limitati rispetto ai game pack e alle espansioni, però giorno di bucato offre del gameplay utile. Lavare e asciugare i panni sono attività che rendono il gioco più realistico, e per questo è un pack che uso spesso e volentieri, motivo del perché va nella categoria cool.

Mini case - Modalità compra/costruisci che è la vita, e poi gli sconti sulle bollette tornano utili. 

Portento del punto - Questo stuff pack offre taaantissimo gameplay, gli oggetti sono carinissimi, e ti permette pure di creare vestiti per i neonati (che tbh sono ancora degli oggetti, ma è un piccolissimo passo avanti questo).

A Lavoro! - Ne riconosco l’utilità perché questa espansione ti permette di creare negozi di qualunque cosa praticamente, e poi le carriere attive sono belle (soprattutto quella dello scienziato), la possibilità di visitare sixam (che è un pelo deludente, ma vbb) e introduce pure gli alieni. Il fatto è che ci gioco poco, tutto qui. 

Usciamo insieme - Il dlc per i gggiovani, ti permette di andare in “discoteca”, creare club ecc, inoltre Winderburg è spettacolare, in particolare la villa infestata e il labirinto>>>>>. E poi a quanto pare è l’unico dlc che ti permette di usare il “trampolino” (non presente nel gioco base, e tipo why). Diciamo che “come sopra”, ne riconosco i meriti, ma lo uso poco.

Vita ecologica - Sono una delle poche persone a cui piace il nuovo scenario, per un motivo alquanto stupido, ovvero: somiglia ad una qualsiasi area urbana italiana (o europea). Gli appartamenti sono “come i nostri”, completamente differenti da San Myshuno (palesemente ispirata alle metropoli asiatiche + aree urbane americaneggianti),ci sono aree pulite e aree sporche, cioè lo scenario trasuda di degrado periferico italiano, e questa cosa mi piace! Mancano solo gli spacciatori al parco, cioè adoro scusate. Il fatto è che il gameplay (pur essendo ricchissimo, per carità) non mi diverte molto, e poi la roba dell’allevare blatte e mangiarle mi fa senso. Però riconosco che è comunque un’espansione molto complessa, ed offre un bel messaggio.

Gita all’aria aperta - È un bel game pack, offre una bella meta di vacanza, si possono fare molte attività come collezionare insetti e c’è pure l’abilità di erboristica(?), diciamo che è carino mandare i sim a campeggio. Però non ci gioco spessissimo ecco.

Strangerville - Questo game pack ha palesi citazioni a Stranger Things e quindi solo per questo è top tier, e poi il gameplay è divertentissimo, l’indagare, la boss fight ecc. Il problema più che altro è che ci giochi una volta e basta, motivo del perché non posso mettere il game pack più in alto.

Vita da genitori - Utile è utile, anzi direi addirittura fondamentale visto che dà un po’ di personalità alle fasce più deboli (soprattutto i bebè), però mi fa arrabbiare perché secondo me molte cose di questo game pack dovevano essere incluse nel gioco base. Mi sembra un “togliere al gioco base” per guadagnarci. 

Giardini romantici - Belle le piante sì, ma cavolo il pozzo dei desideri >>>>>>>>

Moschino - Delusa dal CAS sinceramente, dallo stuff pack della moda mi aspettavo ben altro, però rivoluziona completamente il modo di scattare foto ai sim, perciò si rivela molto utile come stuff pack.

Ok, ma no:

Cani e Gatti - Belli i cannniolini personalizzabili eh, però porca miseria sono fastidiosissimi gli animali nel 4. Bello il quartiere, bella la possibilità di creare una clinica veterinaria, però meh. E poi includere nell’espansione pappagallini, criceti (...), rettili ecc non gli costava niente, ma non l’hanno fatto, si solo limitati ai canniolini e cattttini, perciò ok, ma no.

Un giorno alla SPA - È fatto bene il game pack, il problema è che non lo uso, perché fondamentalmente non m’interessa la sauna, lo yoga ecc. Non offre manco roba bella per il CAS, perciò ok, ma no.

Mangiamo fuori - Praticamente lo uso solo per mandare i sim agli appuntamenti, ma la gestione dei ristoranti è alquanto deludente, perciò ok, ma no.

Esterni da sogno - Ok la vasca idromassaggio è figa, però boh. Cioè ho sempre visto la vasca come una cosa tolta al gioco base (e non a caso poi in seguito l’hanno inclusa pure nel gioco base), perciò ok, ma no.

Serata bowling - È carino come stuff pack, è originale e offre del gameplay, però ci gioco raramente, perciò ok, ma no.

Cucina perfetta - Anche questo è carino, ed è sfizioso creare gelati, il problema è che dimentico proprio l’esistenza di questo stuff pack, perciò ok, ma no.

Stanza dei bimbi - Carina la dinamica dei vuotomostri e il teatrino, ma sinceramente a parte queste due cose, la vedo una roba tolta al gioco base, perciò ok, ma no.

Vintage glamour - Unpopular opinion, mi piace il comparto compra/costruisci e il CAS, ottimo per costruire case di lusso e si abbina bene a Nuove Stelle, però i maggiordomi potevano essere inseriti meglio, l’idea è buona, ma l’esecuzione... perciò ok, ma no.

Spooky stuff - È carino, a tema halloweenesco, e si abbina bene a stagioni, però halloween lo “festeggio” di rado su ts4, perciò ok, ma no.

Perché.:

Feste di lusso - Boh, cioè non mi piace, a parte il tavolo da buffet e la fontana di cioccolato che però potevano benissimo essere inclusi in altri dlc tipo nuove stelle.

Divertimento in cortile - Ma il senso? Cioè avrei capito un dlc a tema parco acquatico, ma gli “scivoli” (sono tappeti, andiamo.) così che senso hanno?

Serata cinema - Carinissimo il comparto compra/costruisci, ma a parte questo, boh? Cioè ‘sto stuff pack ti dà un televisore gigante praticamente, l’hanno liquidato così l’argomento cinema. 

Fitness - Boh avrei preferito un dlc che implementasse più sport, del muro di arrampicata che te ne fai?

Bebè - Questo dlc è materiale tolto al gioco base. I bebè hanno 3 vestiti, per averne 6 devi comprare questo, altrimenti ti attacchi. Una ladrata bella e buona.

Il mio primo animale - Questo è un dlc di un dlc, se non hai cani e gatti non hai motivo per comprarlo (visto che la maggior parte degli oggetti sono roba per cani e gatti). Inoltre quei roditori ci mettevano 2 minuti ad includerli nell’espansione cani e gatti. Una ladrata ed una presa per il culo.

World 4: “San Myshuno”

The group of friends find themselves at the karaoke bar. A young lady approaches them. “Would any of you like to participate in karaoke night? The winner gets all the free drinks and food until the bar closes.” Asks the young lady. 

“No thanks, but by any chance do you know anything about missing people?” Asks Carafe.  

“After I sing my song, I will come and talk to you. Is that okay? Ask the young lady. 

“Sure!” Replies Carafe. 

The group of friends listen to everyone sing. They all seem to enjoy it for the most part. 

“Yes, we are in San Myshuno. No, I don’t think so. I see. Is there not another way? What if I don’t...no, please...you have my word. Just don’t, please!” Phoenix hangs up the phone. ‘What have I gotten myself into, Ursa? I hope for your sake and mine I can find...” He tries to bring his thoughts back to his quest at hand.  

“You want to know about the missing people right? I can’t tell you much about them. Just careful on who you trust. Even your friends.” Says the young lady.

“My friends? Why my friends?” Asks Carafe.

“That is all I can give you.” Replies the young lady, as she leaves.

The group of friends grab some lunch and decide where to go next. They go over all the clues and conversations again. Hoping to fit pieces together. 

“The young lady at the karaoke bar said something kind of strange to me. She told me to be careful of who I talk to and trust.” Says Carafe.

“That’s not strange Carafe. I happen to agree.” Says Fornax. 

“Yes, but even my friends? What does she mean by that. The only friends that are with us is them.” Replies Carafe.

“I don’t know, but it’s nothing I’m sure.” Says Fornax. 

Phoenix couldn’t even look at them. He only could hold his head down, pretending not to overhear their conversation. He’s hoping they didn’t notice his pallid face. 

World 5: “Forgotten Hollow”

The group of friends arrive in Forgotten Hollow. Fornax decides to look around for a few minutes. They’re not sure where to go. It’s such a small world. No bars, cafes or other business establishments. 

All of a sudden, Phoenix sees someone coming towards him that looks familiar. It’s the barista he had given his number to. 

“Hi! Nice to see you again! Says the very handsome and soft spoken young man. 

“Nice to see you again too.” Says Phoenix. 

“How is your journey going in finding their parents? By the way, my name is Caleb Vatore.” Says Caleb, as he extends his hand.

“My name is Phoenix Mars. We haven’t found much to go on in the other worlds. Found a few things, but not much. So, here we are in this one now.” Says Phoenix, taking Caleb’s hand. ‘His touch so soft and gentle. His eyes so mesmerizing. His voice so sweet. Why didn’t he call me? Maybe, he just lost the number. I should give it to him again.’ Thought Phoenix. 

Caleb turns his attentions towards the rest of the group. They tell Caleb everything so far that has happened. 

Caleb tells them he has heard of some rumors about missing people, but thought it was just that, rumors. He looks at the picture again just to make sure. 

“Sorry, they don’t look familiar to me.” Says Caleb. 

“Do you know who lives in that house there” Maybe, we can ask them too.” Asks Fornax. 

“I sure do! Matter of fact, I know them extremely well.” Replies Caleb, with a grin on his face. 

“Really? Think they would talk to us? Asks Carafe.

“Sure I will.” Says Caleb, laughing a little. 

“You live there?” Asks Phoenix.

“Yes, with my sister Lilith.” Replied Caleb. 

‘I’m so glad it’s a sister. Gosh, what would I have done if it had been a lover. Even worse, a wife and kids.Then I would never stand a chance. Not, that I really do anyway, but even a small chance is better than none.’ Thought Phoenix. 

Caleb told them of a simetery nearby they could look around and maybe find some clues. He warned them to be careful in these parts. Not all share his enthusiasm for self control. 

“Self control? Asks Fornax.

“Yes, I’m a Vampire. Vampires drink plasma/blood from other life forms. I however, choose to drink plasma packs.The plasma/blood is given voluntarily to the hospitals and put into packs. This way, Vampires have other sources of nourishment other than biting someone. Lately however, the hospitals have been running low. Less people been donating and less cadavers too.” Explains Caleb. 

“Cadavers too?” Asks Fornax

“When someone dies, the hospital prepares the body for burial or cremation. When doing this, they must drain the blood. It helps preserve the bodies until the families can bury/cremate them. Then the hospital will take the blood and put it into packs as well. This is what I usually do for my nourishment. With this shortage now, Vampires are having to rely on biting more. That is why I said be careful.” Says Caleb. 

“What if someone gives you permission to bite them?” Asks Phoenix, winking at Caleb. 

“Only if they give me permission with no strings attached. It would be unfair to give promises I can’t keep.” Replies Caleb. 

“Promises you can’t keep?” Asks Phoenix.

“I don’t want like a thousand lovers you know.” Says Caleb, laughing a little. 

The group of friends laugh too. 

‘You could drink for me anytime. You wouldn’t need a thousand lovers. I would be the only lover you need. There is just something about you Caleb Vatore I must have.’ Thought Phoenix. 

Caleb knew there was something about him too. He could see so deep within his soul. 

The group of friends head to the simetery to look around. 

After a couple of hours checking each headstone and finding no clues, they find relief and comfort in not doing so. They regroup and get ready for their journey to the next world. Will things become more clearer? Will it bring them any closer to the truth? What awaits them?

Like in that line you can practically see someone on the creative team realizing that they couldn’t figure out how to get the horse out with everyone else, shaking their head, and just going “screw it, he’s taking the hair-o-vator, just go with it”

The Vatore Family Round 5

During Diego Lobo's Round, Caleb moved in with him, and they had a beautiful wedding in Tartosa. You can read about that here.

Caleb makes sure he and Diego come over most evenings after work.

Ravin is proud to tell her uncle Caleb how well she's doing in school.

Quest ages up into a teen.

Lilith takes Lucia on a date to the Inspired Palette.

Lucia is happily married with children, but that doesn't deter Lilith from making it official.

Alika Kahananui sneaks away from Sulani to visit his daughter.

He takes Ravin to the library and helps her with her homework. His wife, Mele, still doesn't know about Ravin.

Vera applies to University this round.

Stuart graduates from High School, but has no idea what he wants to do with his adulthood.

Ravin begins to notice that things feel different...

Lilith decides it is time to let her daughter know how alike the two really are.

TL;DR: Having moved in with his husband, Diego Lobo, last round, Caleb comes to visit every few days. He lives down the road from the Vatores. Quest turns 13. Lilith continues to date Lucia Markovic, who is still married. They make it official. Stuart turns 20. Ravin turns 13 and begins to learn Vampire Skills from her mother, Lilith, and her father, Alika Kahananui.

Sometimes there's only so much pipe organ music a being can take.

James had just returned from his second walk around Forgotten Hollow for the day, the sound of the Count's haunting music was driving him insane. So far he had kept his mouth shut, rare for him, for some reason. He wasn't sure why. Maybe he's mind has been elsewhere. He's not making as much progress as he'd like in his quest to cure vampirism. It's aggravating him and Asa both, for different reasons. Liberty had finally indulged him in a martial romp, that increased his mood quite a bit, but nothing could make the constant sulking music better except for it to cease.

Count Straud sits in his normal place, at this favorite pipe organ. He likes the one in the basement too but this one is his favorite, he's had it since he moved into the estate and has it had maintained well over the countless years. Every since that vixen Lilith Vatore had found a way to ban him from her grounds, he's been in a dark mood. Darker than usual. He doesn't like being denied anything, especially something his undead heart actually desires. He hasn't seen her since that night, she's oddly been keeping to her home or visiting who knows who.

"May I have a word, Count Straud?" James beckons, actually using his manners. Vladislaus almost misses a key at the sudden request and cringes.

"Since you asked politely, very well." the ancient vampire responds, slowly rising from his seat after he finishes his song. He follows the warlock downstairs.

"What's eating you, Vlad?" James questions, not that he cares really but if it stops the music for a while, that would be a delight. 

"You people have such strange lingo sometimes..." Vladislaus grumples, nothing could "eat him" but after thought he figures out what James is actually asking him. "None of your business, warlock."

James smirks "Look, you have no friends. No one to talk to. I'm actually offering an captive ear to you, so you might as well just spill it."

"I rather spill your blood all over my rug instead." The Count bites back. 

James actually has a good chuckle at this, which annoys the vampire. "We both know magical blood is too tempting to just spill."

Vladislaus almost huffs at James laughing but keeps his composure in tact. "I'm not telling you anything."

James watches the vampire seated by him and then it hits him, he smirks again. "The spell on the Vatore estate is bugging you, Lilith has blocked you from her home and from getting into her pants." this earns him a glare from Vlad, which James enjoys. 

"How do you know about the spell?" The count asks, still glaring at the warlock. 

"I happened to catch it being cast." James replies, not naming Dakota though it's a bit obvious who did the spell. 

Vladislaus almost grinds his teeth together in anger. A little warning would have been nice but then again, why would James warn him? That would be odd.

Straud is tired of talking about himself, so he flips the conversation to James instead.

"Shouldn't you be off trying to steal the Vatore spawn or something?" He asks James, he sees a flicker of annoyance go across the warlocks face which makes Vladislaus feel accomplished. 

"Firstly, you can't steal something that hasn't been born yet and secondly, why does everyone thinks I'm going to do something to this kid?" James asks, rubbing his head in boredom more than annoyance now.

"Maybe because you hate Caleb and enjoy poking and prodding him when you get the chance?" the vampire supplies as an answer. 

"Fair point. I admit, I've enjoyed watching them get their little guard dogs in a row and get all ready to battle me if I try something." James says, running his fingers through his silky hair. 

Vladislaus nods, he knows if it were him, he'd enjoy it as well but something inside him wants to know if James is going to try something merely so he can warn Lilith. It's her nephew or niece they are talking about.

"They can have their little crying brat. My goal has been accomplished without really even doing anything." James comments before rising to leave. He's done with this conversation.

Major plot twist ahead!

After Stella kissed Caleb, they decided to continue with their flirtatious conversation. Which prompted Caleb to ask Stella to leave Oliver. To come and live with him, he even encouraged her to bring Abraxas with her. Stella denied him and hurried home before the sun came up, just as she walked through the door, Oliver questioned where she had disappeared to, as he saw her enter the Vatore house.

They argued and Stella decided she had somehow had enough. She reasoned with Oliver that since Abraxas had been born, the passion was gone and it was time for her to move on. She swiftly divored Oliver, grabbed Abraxas and flew them both across the block to the Vatore house.

Surprisingly enough, Oliver wasn’t grief stricken that his former wife had just left him and took their child with her. Oliver had secrets too, he was beginning to form feelings for a human named Katelin*. He invited her over a couple days later to vent to her, she replied to his feelings by asking him to turn her and then they could be together forever. She confessed her feelings for him and why she had always let him drink from her, she had hoped this day would come. 

Oliver was hesitant to turn Katelin. He loved her as a human and did not want the world of vampires to darken her spirit, but agreed to anyways. Here’s to hoping Katelin doesn’t change too much and Oliver can continue his quest for the ultimate vampire family!

*Katelin is Trent Angel’s daughter, who I did a townie makeover on.

The Vatore Family Round 4

Lilith and Caleb take a quick plasma break while cleaning the kitchen.

Vera, on the other hand, seems to be up and down a lot. Here she is stomping toward her house, and then super excited a few minutes later.

Lilith and Lucia Markovic recently started dating even though Lucia is married to Mateo. They are crazy about each other.

This family eats a lot of casserole. This one is Taco.

The Kealoha Family Round 5

The Kealoha family welcomes a new baby this round, a little boy who they name Kai.

The whole family is excited to have little Kai to teach all about the rich island traditions and customs.

Under Makoa's leadership as Conservation Director, the beautiful island of Sulani is once again a paradise!

Makoa even gets a grown-up haircut this round.

Of course, Makoa releases the fish.

Nani has a beach party with some friends from school.

Makoa takes Lilliana out for drinks at The Riptide while Nani watches Kai at home.

Nani develops a crush on Quest Vatore before Prom. He doesn't really like her, though.
