Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

NOT generated. edited.#it would be so cool #ive drawn columbo a lot but i haven't drawn a lot of michaels. i was learning things about his outfit AS I WAS DOING THE DAMN #COLORS ON THIS. all the lines done. it was too late to change anything. i did all the lines and colored page by page #i realized my mistakes on like page 3. 1 and 2 were already done. it was Too Late.#imagine it though. them working a case together. switching between the more serious tone of columbo vs the goofier #action antics of michael and kitt. columbo being so impressed by Modern Technology. there's more i could say but phoenix may write #more of this crossover and i don't want to spoil it :'3 #there's opportunity here though i swear. there's gold to be dug.#i like how kitt gets shading but columbo's junker peugeot doesn't. kitt looked wrong without any. columbo's car is matte and dirty #i also applied effects to this to make it look a little film-grainy and VHS like. some CRT TV vibes #the only question left is. did they put knight rider into columbo; or columbo into knight rider 🤔

it should be easy enough to customize if you have a basic understanding of what html and css are. features include:

responsive to fit on different screen sizes

fairly compact — less than 300 lines of css, and you never have to look at anything after line 30 if you don't want to

customizable fonts, colors, image sizes, and decorations right at the top of the css

image gallery with a lightbox function (clicking an image to make it bigger)

free to customize to your heart's content!

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #granny wen #a-yuan #It's always fascinating how colours translate from the page to the screen.#It would probably surprise a lot of people to see what some of these comics actually look like in physical form.#My lighter colours takes about 3-4 washes before it shows up on scan which means it tends to ripple the page.#And my yellows and oranges are drastically different colours when scanned compared to the ink colour.#There's about 20 or so comics where everyone's hair is purple - because it scanned in the exact same colour as my light grey.#Wait my book is right here in front of me so I can...yeah...Comics 57-77 were indeed purple.#This is all to say - is it not fascinating how what we see is often not the full truth of what the subject truly is?#Is it not fascinating to open another episode that reminds us that despite everyone's claims they could totally spot the evil YLLZ-#-The man walks around among them for months as no more than a man haggling for deals like the rest.#It's almost as if he's just a person. It's almost as if none of us - no matter what we do are really anything more than just a person.#Your good acts will be overtaken by how other's interpret you in negative light.#Just as easily are people willing to forgive crueler actions if they hold you in high esteem.#But what's real? Is the page I hold the real version of this comic? Is it the one you look at?#Is the man known as Wuxian the most himself when he is alone or on the battlefield?#Perhaps he is and has always been a scared orphan boy lost in the market.#I think there is no good answer to any of these questions.#But I do know that panic rising in WWX as he frantically looks for A-yuan was for more than one boy.#To be human is to have layers around a delicate center. We only really grow around our wounds from childhood.#In other words; Donkey from Shrek would also probably call Wei Wuxian an onion. I'll see myself out now.

But he's not my fav character by a long shot.#I like Matt. His MO is a push-pull relationship. He doesn't trust easily. He's very self involved and he's naturally self destructive.#But currently there is too much Matt and not enough Other People. I'm missing my warm fuzzys. I'm missing the emotional element.#(I do not miss the ninjas. Do not bring back the ninjas.) I'm cautiously interested in the idea of Frank having #a f**ked up fanclub - who he has no interaction with and who are co-opting his symbol for bad. If that's what's even happening?#I'm curious about Matt and Fisk both falling into old patterns and mirroring each other. I like the tense undercurrent between Fisk and #Vanessa. I don't know where that's going but I'm happy to wait and see. I just need something to care about? I'm not sure what the goal is #Matt's life is too easy. He became a successful lawyer with a proper office with no effort and barely an inconvenience.#He now has the perfect law partner who keeps the office running and has no personal issues and never questions him. She even found him a gf #Now it's a little messed up that his gf is a therapist coz boy does he need some therapy but she is also not very interesting.#I want to see Karen's apartment in San Francisco. I want her to have a cat. I want her to be a reporter or an #investigator? Maybe she just comes back to NY on her own. Matt screws up BIG and she shows up. Because he needs family and #she's all the family he has left. I want bickering. I want laughter. I want tears. And glaring and eye rolls.#I did not sign up for a show where Matt pretends he wants to be a lawyer for 9 episodes.#If the original version of this show was 'Matt pretends he wants to be a lawyer for 18 episodes' I can see why they changed it.#(This is the least spoilery post ever... but better to be safe than sorry)

Lightlark3 is somehow. How do I put this. Worse. The prose is really, really bad, and Aster operates on a baseline of having 'pretty bad prose'

Gee, I wonder if writing and releasing skyshade, plus writing her new adult book, plus a new bonus lightlark book and the 4th due next year... might be resulting in even less editing?
