sure thing! it’s gonna be my first time writing for espío, so just be patient… matter of fact this is my first time writing for sonic/co in general 😌 kinda made general headcanons for this.

espio the chameleon x gn!reader — general headcanons!

espio is very closed off— not mean closed off, he just doesn’t really like getting close to people. you can say espio is an introvert, and while working with the others of the chaotix is enough to highlight his day, he prefers the quiet times, ones filled with peace where he can just sit and be.

as a newbie that gets into the chaotix, espio intrigued you from the start and you made a goal to try and befriend him. though, espio may see this and go, hmm…. this is odd.

cautious yet curious, he doesn’t seem you at all threat yet, but he likes to keep all newbies close as to keep an eye on them. this also goes for you. he doesn’t like traitors and doesn’t do well with betrayal or being lied to, as honesty is a principle he follows religiously.

it takes him the longest to figure you out and if you were to try and step out of line he would be quick to correct you.

one day you approach him and give him flowers, and ask him to be your friend. you think he’s so cool and, it would be so cool of you to befriend this dude. he’s just so happenin. and he just sits there with warmed cheeks and accepts your gift of friendship. either this, or he’ll let you off slowly and ask you to allow him to think. you might think he’s being too serious, but he’s simply very much work oriented and would most likely prefer to keep things professional between the two of you as to not cause disruption.

as your “friendship” grows however you get to see more of his self absorbency show through missions— how he’s prideful and how he obtains pleasure through the thrill of the heat of a situation, all the while still being crucially agile and level headed. this only made your admiration grow, making you think, where can I get confidence like that?

the same would go for espio seeing you in combat alongside him and vector. you would often learn from him and that would set him up a little, seeing as though you were taking his influence. sometimes however this isn’t exactly a good thing because he himself knows he can be rather impulsive, but it’s usually out of his strong sense of duty and passion for justice keeping, and that same passion he likes to see in you.

when he felt as though he was ready to cement your friendship, one morning you would wake up, get ready and be ready to head out the door only to find some flowers laying on the ground, with a little note.

“sincerely, espio.”

you would take the flowers in your hands and hug them, feeling accepted by the chameleon at long last.

friendship with espio is very calm and reserved— a very relaxed and smooth pace kinda journey but still worth it. espio likes to watch movies with you during your time off and he also likes to take walks. you both go out to different parks sometimes just to roam around, maybe get something to drink or a bite to eat and just talk to each other. the little things mean a lot to espio and he’s not hard to please.

he’s not a touchy feely kinda guy though, so he gets stuff if you try to hug him, touch him, attempt to cuddle him, etc. not that he doesn’t like it it’s just that he doesn’t exactly know how to respond, but he accepts it anyway.

overall, pretty good boy in terms of friendship and commitment. if you were in trouble, he’d come in a heart beat. he would expect you to do the same despite his ego flare. he’s too proud to admit he needs help.

he’d be the type of person to ask you for help in a text, then unsend it, then send it again, then unsend it, then send it again. poor guy.

i imagine that espio can cook decent food, that being used a bit loosely since he prefers to cook when vector and charmy are gone. this leaves him with no interruptions. asian cuisine is his specialty and if you have any recipes for him and or if you wanna cook dinner with him for the team, be his guest. he doesn’t mind, just as long as you help clean.

other than that he just orders takeout because vector bombards him.

you dear to yourself. (and so does he,) that he’s the only member of the chaotix with a decent head in his shoulders. (because that’s true anyway lol.)

Anyway, to help myself calm down before I sleep I decided to think up more "What animal vibes do Zenless Zone Zero characters give off?"

This should also help me for the next time I get artblock (I can't do human fanart... but I can do animals! So maybe?)

Anyway. Everything is under the cut!

Nicole Demara: Nicole would be a chihuahua. Very big, 'I'm better than you' type-of attitude, and.... I think it's just her expression for her on-field opening appearance. She's so goofy! Such a silly!

Koleda Belobog: A lion (female lions can in fact have manes if they have enough testosterone.)

Ben Bigger: A capybara.

Soldier 11: A wolf.

Anby Demara: A wolf that split from her pack to go it alone for a while, before establishing her own with Nicole.

Billy Kid: A bald eagle. Mostly because they pretend to sound much cooler than they are by using sounds that come from red-tailed hawks.

Anton Ivanov: Guinea pig.

Zhu Yuan: A bumblebee. Hardworking when on duty, but stops working when the lights grow dim/when off-duty. Also there's probably a beehind joke or something, but I don't want to make it.

Seth Lowell: Bulldog, or Boston terrier. Morally good with a heart of gold, but makes goofy faces, is impossible to take seriously, and, unlike other, much smarter dogs like the Labrador or Golden Retreiver, is low-matenience and easy to entertain. Very simple lil guy.

Qingyi: An incredibly old Terrible Terror from How To Train Your Dragon. Non-real animal, in which there's an abundance of. I could also argue pidgeon.

Corin Wikes: Groundhog. Prey animal (nervous by nature), and unknowingly does damage with sharp weapons (teeth).

Caesar: Horse. Protects her herd, fast motorcycle, and seems to be a social, reliable leader when off the job.

Burnice: Bruce the bear from the children's book Big Bad Bruce, by Bill Peet. In the Outer-Ring's trailer she burns a lizard for pure amusement. If not this very specific character, she's a cocker spaniel.

Lucy: Pufferfish? Porcupine? Red panda? Idk, but angry and will try to look large, even though she's not much of a threat. Preferably something agile with a short temper, and non-bulky.

Piper: Sloth or koala.

Lighter: Red-tailed hawk.

Belle: Curious, overly playful 3-8-month old black/tortishell kitten. Or a ferret.

Wise: The kind of cat that naps in the sun everyday, acts annoyed with the playful kitten/ferret, but easily gets roped into playing with her.

okay, question: would u say max and charles are mates? cuz if max and charles are mated, how does the omega auction even go? wouldn’t max have first priority or something? especially if charles is pregnant??

anon this is such a loaded question but i thank u for asking. the answer is quite complicated; a lot of my lestappenanel situations are curated but what emotion i am specifically feeling at the time. sometimes charles and max are mates with twins on the way, sometimes they are fuckbuddies by contractual and heat/rut partnerships, and sometimes charles is just. Getting sold tf out of at the omega auction. you see omegaverse lestappen can exist in so many different lifeforms it’s quite beautiful really.

Tumblr's searching method for posts while on your account is almost comically inconvenient.

First off, private posts/reblogs made by you don't show up no matter what you search, even if you go by tags. Even if it's recent.

This is my dang account! Why would I want it to be private to ME?

"Well just copy and paste the link of your private posts!"

I don't wanna open up Google Docs every time I do that! Even if I did use this method the whole thing would be a hassle to me personally.

Plus, as far as I can tell, in mobile, you literally CAN NOT get links from private posts. This is especially true if you have a post you didn't reblog, and wrote and made yourself, in which case the share button is nonexistent and you can't go to the OG poster, because you ARE the OG poster, and there's no share link!

It doesn't even really matter if they have tags, are public or not, because even if they do and they are, if they're too old, or buried under too many posts, it seems like they don't show up even if your post is public.

Can't remember any specific tags, but you can recall what the post is about, a sentence, or a specific word?

Too bad! It STILL won't show up if you search for it!

(This is the exact reason why I never use the Spotify app on phone (honestly I don't even use it on PC anymore either), because basic things like PICKING A SONG is available on PC with zero restrictions (as long as an ad doesn't play) but you have to go through some kind of 3-minute intermission since the app plays a song you don't give a hoot about and isn't even in your playlist, before your entire playlist shuffles and shoffles around for NO APPARENT REASON!)

I hope there's some kind of convenient addon or thing I just didn't ever catch or something, because this is incredibly annoying!
