R1 [Shuichi]- "Thinking that he had been cut off by his younger brother, he protected himself by averting his eyes from what he didn't want to see. He was a bit immature to call himself a Wisemen."

R2 [Gabriel]- "Oh, isn't that Gabriel? Still foolish enough to stay in a guild of losers. You should have come under me and obeyed me, but that would have been too much for you."

E- "Ah, my poor brother who has fallen into a trophy. This is a paradise that was designed just for you! Please continue to live your life with shame forever..."

T- "Please stop touching the base of my wings, brother! I'm in a higher position now! Do you understand!? ...I'll forgive you just for today since it was a joke..."

LL- "I, Michael, confess. As an elite, of course you will accept my feelings, won't you? Don't run away! Don't leave me alone... please... don't..."

BS- "You are as selfish as ever, brother. Very well, I'll stay with you for a while..."

BE- "Are you done, my brother? Now I'll get back to work, to the job you left me with."

EO- "Welcome, my kind brother. What do you need? What exactly do you want? In the end, I still don't understand you."

EC- "Thank you for your efforts, brother. Why am I acting condescendingly? Why don't you look back at what you did in the past? Everyone laughed, saying my brother had gone crazy."

What’s the most difficult thing you’ve done in soulsborne

Why thank you for asking! ♡ I would love to share the tale of my simultaneous skill and stubborn foolishness.

I love Bloodborne, so much in fact that before the Old Hunters DLC came out I beat the game and went down into the Cbalice dungeons to get every drop of content from them as I could.

Now normally this is a normal and fine thing to do, but I did this until I was in NG+4....and used this exact same character to play the Old Hunters DLC for thr first fucking time. Now everyone had to learn the hard way that the DLC was a huge spike in difficulty...except for me! I just assumed it was cause I was in NG+4 and said the 2015 version of, "Fuck it! We ball!" And then somehow forgot that I wasn't in New Game after a while, cause I was in school and had untreated ADHD.

So that means dear readers, I fought Ludwig the Accursed, Lady Maria, and.....

This absolute unhinged lunatic of an aborted god-child, in NG+4. And won. Now it did take literal weeks of practicing (and farming blood-vials) but I eventually figured out how to manipulate his attacks to trick him into landing in front of me, with his back turned, at just the right moment to deliver a fully charged R2 to his back and then get a backstab that would partially heal me. Then I learned how to do it consistently...enough...that I was able to win the fight.

I will never fight him again. :D My hands would actually start shaking, not from my muscles in my arms, but from how HARD MY HEART WAS BEATING whenever I got Oprhan down to 30% HP.

Obi-wan being a nervous mommy is such a cute idea.

Obi-wan was very grateful for the break Anakin has offered him. Taking their month old twins out for a walk allowing Obi-wan a much needed break. This would be the first time Leia and Luke would be without him. Not that he didn’t trust Anakin, it just gave him anxiety. Obi-wan readjusted the wrap around his husband, making sure each side was supported. Leia was on the right, a fat cheek pressed to Anakin’s chest fighting a nap. Luke was on the left, wide awake and making soft little sounds.

“You have them?” Obi-wan asked again.

“Yes Master. They are just fine.” Anakin soothed rubbing Obi-wan’s biceps. “We are going to the new botanical gardens with a few other Jedi.” Anakin reminded.

“What if someone tries to take them?” Obi-wan looked down feeling foolish and scared.

“Then I will rip them apart.”

“Anakin! That’s uncivilized…” Obi-wan looked up shyly. “But good answer.” He mumbled looking to R2-D2 with the twins bag around him. “If you need anything I’ll be there in a second.”

“I think we are good, Obi-wan release you’re worries into the force. I have the twins, I have R2, and half the damn Jedi temple behind us.” Anakin kissed Obi-wan. “We’ll see you later, keep that comm on. I’m sending pictures.” He teased

Obi-wan took a breath and relaxed, leaning down to kiss his babies and then Anakin. “I would be upset if you didn’t send pictures. Oh bring me a cutting of the main tree? I’ve always wanted one.”

“You got it sugartits.”

“Anakin!”

“You love it.”

Obi-wan watched his family go for a good while before crawling into bed and taking the best nap of his life.

"I didn't know that was something you had to practice, you seem so natural." she teases, gazing back at him with a look of awe in her eyes as she smiles back at him warmly. guys like him didn't exist from where she was from, he was so different from anyone else, he was so beautiful and wise beyond his years. she bites down on her lower lip, a smile tugging over her lips.

her heart had been heavy this entire time, wondering if she would ever be able to help naboo. it's times like these that bee wonders if she's too young to be a queen, holding so much power on her small shoulders as she tries to figure out what's right and what's wrong, most girls her age didn't have to deal with this kind of stress but it was what bexley chose and she knows she has a commitment to make to her people. "thank you." the queen says gently with his words, her eyes soft as she looks back at him. something about that look in his eyes makes her feel safe, like she's really able to put her trust inside of him.

bee could hear his mom trying her hardest to get regulus to hush up and stop, she's trying her best to make her displeasure seem subtle but she's been around adults enough to know what that looks means and she frowns a little. she can't imagine what it must feel like to have your only son risking his life to help others knowing the universe has never done you any favors. "well the republic is foolish." she says gently. "if there's anything I can do to help change their minds I'll try my hardest to do so " she gives his hand a gentle squeeze.

bee blushes at his compliment about her beauty, the fact he's so willing to do it in front of his own mother and horace was crazy enough but then he actually means it as well, making her heart ache as blue eyes meet his gaze with a soft look in them.

once dinner is all finished everyone is saying their goodnight. bee's fingers interlocked with the boys had he takes her towards his room. it dawns on her that she'll really be spending the night in there and it fills her stomach with butterflies. the closest thing she's ever gotten to sharing a room is when her handmaidens would spend the night but this was different, this was with a boy who was really charming and cute as well. how could she ever sleep knowing he was close? a soft chuckle leaves her as artoo and regulus chitchat about her. "I told you I'm no princess." which she technically wasn't but it was cute he was so determined to call her one. "he is a very bossy droid though, that part is true." she teases artoo who beeps at her.

a warm smile tugs on her lips as the enter, it was smaller than what she was used to but lived in, smelling just like him as she walks into the room. he was so kind and caring, already living the life of a slave but wanting to offer his bed to a traveler but he shouldn't have to. "it's wonderful regulus, thank you." she says walking over to sit on the mattress, R2 moves at the end of her bed stationing himself to watch over her as blue eyes flicker back at regulus for a long moment just before speaking up again. "you have a big race tomorrow and if you're going to do your best you probably shouldn't sleep on some floor...I'm sure that jedi blanket is wonderful but, I think this bed seems big enough for two of us....i-if that's okay with you." she blushes shyly, feeling her own heart racing even as she says it. "I just mean, I think I would sleep better in this strange place if I had something familiar next to me and I'm more comfortable with you than I am with anyone else." R2 beeps as if he's offended by that remark which makes bee chuckle. "I mean other than you or course artoo." she smiles back at the small droid before her eyes search for the boys again, hoping he doesn't think she's weird for asking.

he smiles at her words, amused. he wouldn’t expect her to flirt back, especially in front of everyone, but she continues to surprise him. “i have a lot of practice,” he responds jokingly. if she claimed he was attractive then who was he to deny it?

his dark brows raise when she explains she’s the handmaiden for the queen of naboo. he can sense something about the air around her, however– almost like she’s withholding something. he doesn’t press on it, because he can tell she’s keeping something to herself for a good reason. “we’ll just have to get you there as soon as possible.” he can hear the stress in her voice; he can tell this is weighing on her and there are lives at stake. he has the urge to comfort her; wrap his arms around her, but he doesn’t.

he pushes it down, ignoring the feeling and smiling at her when she continues on to thank him and his mother. “we understand it wouldn’t be easy… one planet could only have so much influence on the republic or their reach.” he sounds defeated as he says it, and in a sense he is. the republic doesn’t care about the outer rim and he doubts bexley or her queen would be able to change that, at least not in his lifetime.

walburga seems a little more tight-lipped on this, shooting her son a look of displeasure, perhaps at how easy he’s being on the system that’s keeping them enslaved.

but regulus isn’t thinking about slavery for once; he’s thinking about the beautiful blue of bexley’s eyes and how soft her hand felt against his. he can’t help but feel pleased at her approval, enjoying the wonderful sound of her sweet laugh.

he’s surprised when she offers to show him the lake on naboo some day– does that mean she feels as strongly as he does? he can only dream. “if it’s even half as beautiful as you, it’ll be one of the most breathtaking things i’ll ever see.”

his mother clears her throat, shooting him another look that clearly suggests she thinks he should be more cautious. regulus chooses to ignore it, just like he’s already ignoring the slight concern and interest coming from horace.

his heart races when she takes his hand and for a moment he almost forgets himself, caught up in the radiant beauty of her perfectly sculpted face and meticulously braided hair. remembering himself after a moment, he nods, gently tugging her towards his bedroom.

there’s an electricity in the air between them that’s difficult to deny. he feels it moving through his body, starting where their hands touch, his fingers interwoven with hers for a moment. he reluctantly lets go, glancing at artoo, who had joined them. “i bet you do only the best job, protecting your princess,” he says to him teasingly, to which artoo beeps. “do you even scold the waiters for getting her order wrong?”

the droid beeps as if in agreement– like it was the most obvious answer in the world. regulus smiles wryly, because artoo is the funniest R2-series astromech droid he’d ever met. he supposes he would grow even more enriched if he were constantly in bexley’s presence, too.

turning away from the two of them, he removes one of the blankets from the end of his bed before walking to the other side of the room, over to where a meditation pillow is placed on the center of the floor. “one of my neighbors, jira, gave me this. she said it was from some old jedi offworlder. it’s so soft that it’s even more comfortable than our couch, so… i don’t mind sleeping on it for the night. you and artoo can take my bed.” he gives her a faint, encouraging smile. “it’s not much, but it’s a little softer than my mother’s bed.” she’s probably used to much better, but he tries not to think about that too much.

The Tarot Series - 0 - The Fool

Description: The Fool depicts a youth walking joyfully into the world. He is taking his first steps, and he is exuberant, joyful, excited. He carries nothing with him except a small sack, caring nothing for the possible dangers that lie in his path. Indeed, he is soon to encounter the first of these possible dangers, for if he takes just a step more, he he topple over the cliff that he is reaching. But this doesn't seem to concern him - we are unsure whether he is just naive or simply unaware. The dog (R2) at his heels barks at him in warning, and if he does not become more aware of his surroundings soon, he may never see all the adventures that he dreams of encountering.

Upright: beginnings, freedom, innocence, originality, adventure, idealism, spontaneity. The Fool card is numbered 0, which is considered to be a number of infinite potential. Consider him a blank slate, for The Fool has yet to develop a clear personality. He is the symbol of innocence - his journey to come will shape his character yet.

Reversed: reckless, careless, distracted, naive, foolish, gullible, stale, dull. When you land on the reversed Fool in your reading, you can generally find his more negative characteristics being on display. It can mean that you are literally acting like a fool by disregarding the repercussions of your actions. Like the youth depicted in the card, you don't see how dangerous of a position you find yourself in. 

Character: Luke Skywalker in the first Star Wars film is epitomised in this card, The Hero's Journey is his path but in the beginning he is nothing more than a farmer boy, on a backwater planet, beginning his journey with his trusty droid by his side.

C-3PO and R2-D2 are a severely underrated ship and that makes me sad, so here's a list of some things that I love about them:

-Bickering old married couple vibes

-Just how much they genuinely do love eachother despite how different they are

-Whenever Threepio puts his hand on Artoo's head or shoulder

-How happy they are to see eachother again in the Jawa Sandcrawler

-The "Hang on tight Artoo you've got to come back" and then the "You wouldn't want my life to get boring would you" bit in A New Hope

-When Artoo is badly damaged and Threepio is pleading with everyone to fix him. This is after they've been bickering the entire movie and now Threepio, notoriously selfish as he can be, is desperately offering up his own parts to save him

-That part in The Empire Strikes back where they're all preparing to flee the base on Hoff and Threepio runs over to Artoo and tells him to take care of Luke, but the bit that gets me is how softly he then adds "And do take care of yourself"

-Threepio gets so excited at the thought of Artoo being in Cloud City that he wanders off from the group because he thinks he hears him (and subsequently gets blown up RIP)

-After getting back to the ship on Cloud City, when they're in the middle of being pursued by the Empire, the VERY first thing Artoo does is start on putting Threepio back together. I just find it sweet because everyone else was too preoccupied to bother with him, (shoutout to Chewbacca for at least trying) but Artoo immediately goes to help him the first chance he gets. You get the sense that he's had to repair Threepio a lot, which is probably true and also very wholesome.

-Which reminds me of a similar scene in the prequels where Artoo appears out of nowhere in the middle of this huge battle and reattaches Threepio's head.

-That part in the droid torture chamber thing. Threepio is being taken away and shouts "Artoo don't leave me!" and upon seeing this Artoo proceeds to cuss out the droid that had him taken away lol

-I was gonna say all the times they rescue eachother but let's be real it's just Artoo saving Threepio.

-Artoo's little chuckle when everyone finds out that the ewoks see Threepio as a god

-When Luke uses the force to make Threepio float and Threepio calls out to Artoo for help, (like he'd be able to do anything even if he wasn't tied up lol). He's just too used to Artoo saving his dumbass lmao.

-I haven't watched much of the prequels but the first time they meet is adorable. Artoo is just like 'you're naked' and then they hang out for the remainder of Artoo's stay on Tatooine

-Double wedding at the end of Attack of the Clones (I'm kidding but the moment is still cute)

-That one time in the droids cartoon where Threepio is ready to physically attack this bigass robot because he thought it killed Artoo

-Then the moment afterwards when he sees that Artoo is alive and basically throws himself at him in a hug. "You foolish, wreckless... wonderfully brave little unit." 🥺

-The comic where Artoo hijacked a ship, flew to where Threepio was being held captive and went on a stormtrooper killing spree all by himself, just to save Threepio (because nobody else thought sending out a rescue party to save a droid was worth it 😤).

There's gotta be some more moments but I've only seen the original trilogy and bits and pieces of other Star Wars media here and there.

EDIT: I've remembered a few other moments so here we go

-When Luke is flying to Cloud City to save his friends Artoo says something to him and Luke replies with "No 3PO's with them". So he presumably said something along the lines of 'What about Threepio? or 'Did they leave Threepio behind?' or maybe he was asking if Luke could sense if Threepio was okay. I just love how they add little details like that. They didn't need to include it at all but it's moments like this that really flesh them out as characters by showing how much they worry about eachother.

-In Attack of the Clones, when Threepio is on that conveyor belt thing in the droid factory, instead of worrying about his own safety he's like 'Hmm. I wonder what happened to poor little R2'. Like boy you've got bigger problems right now, not to mention the fact that Artoo pushed you off the edge in the first place lmao

-Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales has quite a few moments. The whole plot is Threepio trying to find and rescue a kidnapped Artoo (the tables have turned for once omg!) And he's so determined to save him it's so cute.

-Lego Artoo carries around a copy of Threepio's memory with him.

-Lego Threepio pulls a photo of Artoo out of nowhere then proceeds to gaze longingly at it, lamenting over whether he'll ever see him again.

-Admiral Ackbar is reminiscing over his stolen ship the same time Threepio is trying to talk about Artoo, so Threepio goes 'A ship is just a machine. A droid is a person...' and idk I just love the way he says it.

-There's a flashback to the end of the Empire Strikes back and Threepio is like 'R2 I thought you were lost for good. I am so happy to see you again!' And he's so excited it's so cute.

Gazing up into his eyes, Padme could feel how her heart started to beat faster. It was something she felt for him to. knowing she could never feel the same for anything else what she felt for him. It seemed foolish, to fall for the first guy that had crossed her path. But ten years had passed, and the little boy she had adored and cared for so much had become a man. Someone who knew what he wanted, and that he would be fighting for it. He was brave, far braver than she could ever be. And the way he had charmed himself right into her heart so quickly was frightening. Still, Padme knew to love was to get hurt. Maybe not now, maybe not anytime soon. But one day. Both were living a dangerous life, not to mention what they did was forbidden too. But their love was stronger than that. And she knew she would do anything for him.

“This is our language. To impress our love.” her hands moved up, softly cupping his face. “I know that we will survive everything. Together. Even when dark times are coming our way. We will stay together.” she smiled. No matter what the future hold for them.

Anakin knew that the darker times were coming, that as much as he wanted to fight the fact that they were coming, they were. He and Padme had spent as much time hiding away from the world since their wedding as they could, but tomorrow, he had to go back to Coruscant.  He had his Jedi Knight trials, the day after tomorrow. He had also heard rumblings that if he passed, he would be made a General and given an army of Clones.  He felt like he had been a Padawan forever, and now, he was looking at possibly being a General?  When he had brought Padme back to Naboo a couple of weeks ago, things had been different. They had been in love, but it was different. Now, they were married.  

They both knew he had to leave the next day, but had been trying not to think about it. He had told 3PO and R2, to leave them alone for the night. He wanted to spend the evening with his wife, and only his wife.  He leaned into her touch and he closed his eyes.

“I know we will, my angel.  We will always be together, even when we are apart. Know that I will try to get back to you, as often as I can, and when I am in Coruscant, I will spend as many nights with you, as I can. I can’t imagine being apart from you at all, after the time we’ve spent here. It’s been completely amazing, spending time in Naboo, falling in love, getting married, the time since then, everything we’ve done since then, even the things we have done outside of the bedroom, or shall I say, the things that involved clothes? We didn’t always stay in the bedroom. These past few weeks have been the best of my entire life.”

"dumb you are yes" said Yoda as he pulled out his lightsaber

"Die you fool" said sheev as he pulled out HIS lightsaber

"No you" said Yoda as he jump at sheev

"How Foolish of you" said sheev as Yoda cut of his head

And so the war began

Clones vs sith the sith won and the sith lost

The clones won and the clones lost over and over again the Clones eventually won but the battle lasted forever

A New Hope

Wrote this while I was watching the iconic scene from Episode IV where Leia says "help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope." I wondered what must've been going through his mind watching it and I couldn't resist writing what I thought he would be thinking.

It only took a few moments of fiddling with the small, blue astromech that Obi-Wan hadn’t seen in almost two decades for the hologram to start playing. After so many years apart, R2-D2 was eager to please his old friend. 

The blue hologram spluttered to life and Obi-Wan, for a second, thought he was seeing a ghost. For the briefest moment, he thought he was seeing the face of an old friend again, a woman who he loved as a sister and watched grow from a young queen into a strong and capable senator. 

The Blue hologram spluttered to life and for a millisecond, a small voice in his head whispered, hoped, 

‘Padme?’ 

But it was not, and Obi-Wan scolded his heart for being so foolish. It did not take him long to realize who it actually was before him; she had the eyes of Naboo and the determination of Tatooine, all veiled by the heart and strength of Alderaan. Before he heard her voice, before she made any mention of her father, Obi-Wan knew exactly who she was. 

Leia. 

The small child he had held in his arms nearly twenty years ago, whose tiny life had been placed in his calloused hands just moments after her birth. The small child whose mother didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to, but who left a legacy so large and beautiful The Force needed two children to fulfill it. The small child who he should've watched grow, who should've called him “Uncle”, but who he left in the arms of a Queen and a senator and said goodbye to forever. 

Well, not forever anymore. 

He listened as she spoke with resilience and authority, and he saw the evidence of her parents written on every inch of her being, from the traditional Alderaanian robes of royalty, to her simple yet elegant hair, to her kind eyes and charming smile, to the way she carried herself and spoke. He also saw it in her passion, in the way she wasn't willing to back down or give up, in the way she would risk recklessness if it meant protecting the things and people she loved. She was royalty, she was Alderaan, she was both Organa and Skywalker, through and through. 

Obi-Wan looked from the small blue hologram in front of him to the boy sitting to his side and he thought of the last time all three of them had been together. He had been much younger, but already a heartbroken shell of who he once was, his life torn apart, his reality and heart shattered, and the boy and the girl had just been minutes old in his weary arms. He could feel the Force begin to move, like a current growing stronger in a river that hadn’t received rain for many seasons. He thought of everything the two with him didn’t know, he thought of how Luke had no idea he was looking at the image of his twin sister for the first time. Thinking of all these things, Obi-Wan had to stop the tears from welling in his eyes, for in the last nineteen years he had become well acquainted with emotion and had stopped suppressing his feelings long ago. 

He felt the same pull to the young woman in the hologram as he had to Luke whenever he was near, as if the Force was trying to physically bring them together, as if it was trying to tell the old Jedi that their destinies were intertwined. Obi-Wan sat listening to Leia’s pleas and wondered if the time was coming when he would finally listen to that call, when he finally let Luke out of the protective shield of Tatooine, when he finally started down that road he had long sensed the Force had planned for him. He wondered if the two twins would ever meet, if they would ever discover the truth, if the Force would show them that they were two parts of one whole, like two twin suns giving life to the same planet. 

And Obi-Wan wondered what the Force wanted from him along this path, and he wondered if it would bring him face to face with the father of the two siblings he was now reunited with. 

“Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.” 

Those words brought the old, tired Jedi out of his thoughts and back into the moment. The name that he hadn't heard in so long, the name of a man who was free of the guilt and pain he had carried with him since that dark day on Mustafar. The name that belonged to a bygone era of light and had no place in this current word of darkness. A name that meant hope. 

And as he heard her final words, he couldn't help but think of the hope Leia and her brother were once again giving him. 

A new hope that he hadn’t felt in a long, long time.

Luke's plan to rescue Han in Return of the Jedi, explained!

So, one of the most common criticisms of ROTJ that I've heard is that Luke's plan to save Han from Jabba's palace doesn't make any sense.

I admit it isn't really explained well within the movie itself, I'm pretty confident that it does make sense (for the most part) if you think about it. SO I'm going to try to explain how the plan unfolds in the movie and the thought process behind each step.

LET'S BEGIN!

(Spoilers for a movie which is nearly 40 years old I guess?)

1. Lando is sent in

At some point before the events of the film, Lando is sent to Jabba's palace and takes the place of one of the guards under the guise of Tamtel Skreej. Being a man on the inside, he can keep Luke updated on the plan's progress and make sure everyone else is okay.

Why didn't Lando just free Han by himself?

Cuz that would've been boring. The movie needs a first act.

(Look, I'm doing my best, but I can't justify everything).

2. The droids are sent in

Luke sends R2-D2 and C-3PO in to deliver a message and a gift to Jabba.

The message is Luke offering to bargain for Han and presenting his gift to Jabba - the droids. Jabba refuses to bargain and keeps the droids anyway.

Judging by Threepio's reaction, he was left out of the loop on the plan. This would ensure his reaction to the message was genuine. And why R2 was sent in as well - aside from needing someone to deliver the message - we'll get to that later.

As for Luke's offer to bargain, he knew that Jabba would refuse. Sending in the droids as a "token of his goodwill" makes Jabba think that Luke is being foolish and lulls him into a false sense of security.

3. Leia and Chewie are sent in

On what I'm going to assume is later the same day (because the movie doesn't give any indication otherwise, and it's hard to interpret the passage of time in Jabba's palace anyway, so fuck it), Princess Leia, disguised as the bounty hunter Boushh, interrupts Jabba's party by firing off a blaster and coming in to claim the bounty on Chewbacca's head.

Threepio had said earlier that "Lando Calrissian and poor Chewbacca never returned from this dreadful place," but this just provides further evidence that he knew nothing about the plan.

She then demands double the money, and even pulls out a thermal detonator before reaching a compromise with Jabba for 35,000 credits.

"Boushh" is given the money and a room at the palace, while Chewie is put in a cell.

Why bring Chewie along at all if his only purpose is to be another prisoner? And why would Leia draw attention to herself like that?

It's all about gaining respect.

A small-time bounty hunter showing up out of nowhere would only create suspicion. Jabba might have dismissed Luke's claim of power earlier, but he's not an idiot - we even find out later that the palace staff was specifically instructed to keep Luke out of the palace.

By turning in Chewie, Leia gains Jabba's trust, with him even calling her "my kind of scum." And her stunt with the thermal detonator proves to him and the rest of his court that she's not to be messed with.

In hindsight, this might have been a mistake, since the real Boushh was apparently known for his cowardice, and acting so massively out-of-character might have tipped some people off. But the rebels had no way of knowing that, so I can't blame them for that.

4. Leia frees Han that night

Yes, the first four steps all happen on the same day. At least I'm pretty sure they do. And there's no evidence to the contrary, soooooo...

That night, while everyone is asleep, Leia sneaks in to the throne room and frees Han from the carbonite. She unmasks herself - I'll explain why that was an idiotic decision very soon - and kisses Han.

If all had gone to plan, Leia would've escaped with Han, then Lando would've used his greater freedom as a guard to get Chewie and the droids out.

Boom. Han is saved without spilling a single drop of blood, and the Rebel A-Team can go back to focusing on their attack on the second Death Star.

The key phrase here is "if all had gone to plan."

Because it turns out Jabba was waiting for her. Not sure how he found out what she was planning, but that's not really important.

Honestly, it's kind of hard for me to defend Leia's actions. On the one hand, she had been reunited with the man she loves for the first time in just over a year (I think - the SW timeline is a bit screwy), so it would've be easy for her passion to get in the way of any logical thinking. It also made for a cool dramatic reveal which properly introduced her into the movie and reaffirmed Han and Leia as an official couple, so that's a plus.

...But removing her helmet was still a stupid decision.

Jabba definitely knew something was up with "Boushh", otherwise he wouldn't have been waiting for her. Sure, Leia had no way of knowing that, but she still definitely should've prioritised getting Han out of the hostile environment before the romantic reunion! For all we know that was the first time Jabba discovered her real identity!

So yeah. They're both captured.

Han is taken away and put in a cell (coincidentally, the same cell as Chewie).

Lando tries to take Leia away as well, but Jabba stops them.

Another reason that Leia removing her helmet was a bad idea is that we know that Jabba has something of a penchant for attractive women, and Leia exposing her identity meant that Jabba set his sights on her. And it just so happened that he needed a replacement for Oola after executing her earlier that day.

So as revenge for ruining his favourite decoration, Jabba makes Leia his personal slave girl, chaining her to his side.

(Okay, I'm done ranting about Leia unmasking herself now)

Anyway, Leia's capture complicates things.

Now every member of the team in the palace (aside from Lando) is held captive by Jabba, with Leia and Threepio now being under his constant supervision.

Lando then presumably calls Luke and tells him that the plan's gone tits up, so...

5. Luke goes in

An unspecified amount of time later (to see me try to determine roughly how long, click here), Luke enters the palace unarmed and goes to negotiate with Jabba for the release of his friends.

Why didn't Luke just storm the palace with his lightsaber and free Han by himself? Better yet, why didn’t they just do that in the first place and avoid all this?

Because Luke’s introduction is supposed to show his growing maturity since the last time we saw him - look at how he carries himself, how he talks. The fact that he chose a plan which would work with zero casualties is a key indication of this.

But that's not to say he didn't have a backup in place in case diplomacy - and then his Jedi mind-trick - didn't work: his lightsaber hidden inside R2.

But he was probably planning on R2 being in the room when all this was going down. Since he isn't, Luke has lost his only trump card - Threepio and Leia are in no position to help and Lando can't do anything without blowing his cover.

So Luke has to improvise, Force-pulling a blaster from a random guard. So Jabba drops him into the rancor pit, along with an unfortunate guard who got in the way.

Why didn't Lando warn Luke about the rancor pit, especially considering he was in the room when Oola was executed? No fucking clue. Again, I can't justify everything.

Not exactly sure what happens to that blaster on the way down, but long story short, Luke kills the rancor, and Jabba is so enraged that he decides to have Luke, Han and Chewie executed while keeping Leia and the droids for himself.

They get taken out to the Sarlacc pit, R2 launches Luke's lightsaber, he ices everyone, Leia kills Jabba, they blow up the sail barge and escape.

I want to make something absolutely clear: This was NOT Luke's plan all along.

Sure, being taken out to the Sarlacc allowed them to take everyone out and rescue Han with zero casualties (on their side, at least), but I still firmly believe that the plan was for Leia to sneak in and free Han. Luke obviously had contingencies in place in case this went wrong, but it makes zero sense for his plan to involve sending in every single one of his friends to get captured then showing up to get captured as well.

Not to mention the idea of the team agreeing to such a plan is ridiculous - especially Leia, who would've been agreeing to let herself be enslaved and subjected to God knows what on the off chance that she would get a chance to kill Jabba herself.

Obviously this plan isn't the best strategy - they have the entire Rebel Fleet at the disposal, so they could've just sent a message along the lines of: "General Solo's a friend of ours, and we want him back. If you say no, we'll wipe you off the map." Or something to that effect.

But the sequence in Jabba's palace is an interesting way of reintroducing the main characters and works as a good first act.

So yeah, hopefully that helps to clear things up.

I finished reading The Phantom Menace by Terry Brooks yesterday. Some excerpts that I liked and felt tighten my heart:

[ID] "I want to fly ships to those worlds one day," Anakin said softly.

Wald snorted doubtfully. "You're a slave, Annie. You can't go anywhere."

The old pilot looked down at Anakin. The boy couldn't look at him. "Well," he said softly, "in this life you're often born one thing and die another. You don't have to accept that what you're given when you come in is all you'll have when you leave." [End]

[ID] When he was finished, he drew his droid aside. "Which ones are best, See-Threepio?" he asked. He'd given it a number the night before, choosing three because the droid made the third member of his little family after his mother and himself. [End]

[ID] "I had a dream I was a Jedi," the boy said quickly, anxious to talk about it now. "I came back here and freed all the slaves. I dreamed it just the other night, when I was out in the desert." He paused, his young face expectant. "Have you come to free us?" [End]

[ID] "You should be proud of your son," Qui-Gon said after a moment. "He gives without any thought of reward."

Shmi nodded, a smile flitting over her worn face. "He knows nothing of greed. Only of dreams. [End]

To think about how this will go.

[ID] When they disembarked from the suttle at the landing platform, R2-D2 was already bustling about. The little droid beeped at Anakin cheerfully, then wandered over to the edge of the rampway to look down at the traffic. In doing so, he leaned out too far and tumbled over. Anakin gasped, but a second later the astromech droid reappeared, boosted back onto the rampway by his onboard jets. On hearing R2-D2's ensuing flurry of chirps and whistles, the boy smiled in spite of himself. [End]

Ani was saddened by the disagreement between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan over training him. And he was overwhelmed by Coruscant.

[ID] Anakin Skywalker had made a promise to himself that he would protect Qui-Gon Jinn and Padmé Naberrie from harm, that he would see to it somehow that nothing bad happened to them. He knew when he made the promise how hard it was going to be to keep. Somewhere in the back of his mins where he would admit such things privately, he knew how foolish it was even to make such a commitment. But he was young and brave at heart, and he had lived his life pretty much on his own terms because to live it any other way would have broken him long ago. It hadn't been easy doing so, especially as a slave. He had survived mostly because he had been able to find small victories in difficult situations and because he had always believed that one day he wouls find a way to overcome the circumstances of his birth.

His believe in himself had been rewarded. His life had been changed forever by his victory just days earlier in the Boonta Eve Podrace on Tatooine. [End]

[ID] Footsteps approached, and a metallic droid voice demanded, "Where is your pilot?"

R2-D2 beeped bravely in reply.

"You are the pilot?"

The astromech droid whistled affirmatively. [End]

No Artoo protecting little Anakin!!

I should mention. At the beginning of the book there is a scene where Anakin goes to the desert to trade some parts and droids for Watto, and on the way home he finds a wounded Tusken. Anakin approaches curiously, thinks he is dead. When he sees that the man is alive, Anakin does what he can to help him, despite knowing the stories and of Threepio's warnings. He spends the night watching, worried that the man won't recover on his own and unsure how to act. Later, others of his people come for him and Ani can go home at dawn.

There's also this part where Anakin dreams of an older Padmé leading an army to war.

I wonder if Brooks talked to George Lucas about the story and knew where it was going, or was he simply guided by the Force or something. Thinking about the attack on Shmi and the Clone Wars.

I should also mention that I think the book was kind in Padmé's writing and I'm grateful for that. She is amazing but real. She is sweet, smart and strong. I love her.

Pass: Rex x Reader

A loud sigh escaped your lips as a holopad was slapped down next to you.

"Here are the list of all the troopers that need their annual evaluation. Make sure you can get them all done within the next thirty rotations," General Shaak Ti informed you, urgency in her voice.

You hummed in response and picked up the holopad, browsing through the list. All ARC Troopers were reevaluated annually to ensure they were still the best fit for the position. The list could easily be knocked in half if the 501st managed to make their way to Kamino anytime soon. The mid-rim sieges would make it difficult but you had to get it done.

Begging Anakin to let the 501st have a few days off on Kamino wasn't too hard to accomplish. He complied to it faster than you expected but you weren't going to complain. There was plenty to do before the reevaluations. Testing new weapons, giving new battle combinations and evaluation their ability to adapt were just a few things that needed to be done. And you had to figure out how to do it.

The only thing you enjoyed about the task was catching up with the troopers. Throughout your time as a special ranks trainer at Kamino,  you've developed many friendships with the soldiers, and unfortunately, you never really got to see them again once they were shipped off.

Your heart jumped a little when you saw the number 7567 on the list. You recognized the number as a Captain named Rex. He was one of the hardest working soldiers you've worked with. Right before he shipped out, he buzz cut his hair and dyed it blonde, making him the only soldier in that captain training program to not have the standard hair cut with brown hair. You admired his willingness to be unique.

Roughly six rotations later, the 501st finally arrived on Kamino, giving the majority of the men a much needed break. You figured Anakin would be in the mess hall so you made your way there to meet up with your long time-no see friend.

It was never difficult to find him. Anakin was always the center of attention. According to his Padawan, he enjoyed telling elaborated stories about before the war to the clones. You approached him from behind as he rambled on about his encounter with a bounty hunter when he was only fourteen.

"Wow, let me guess, you used your lightsaber without holding it. You used the force to levitate it?" you butted it, chuckling slightly.

Anakin turned around and threw his hand up, "(Y/N)! Always a pleasure to see you. Let me introduce you to my new men!"

You smirked and shook your head as Anakin began introducing them. It appeared as if Rex wasn't present.

"And this here is Hard-"

"Case," you laughed, "You forget. I've worked with every solider that steps foot off this planet."

"Great to see you again, General!" Hardcase salutes, "And may I add, your beauty has multiplied since."

You rolled your eyes, "Not even the brutality of the war can take away his charm. But, he takes after his general I suppose."

The men snickered as Anakin gave you a glare.

"Anyway, I sent you a list of men that need their evaluation. I know you're here for a while but of you can let them know to get it done as soon as possible, that would be great. I have thousands of troopers to test."

"You wish is my command," Anakin playfully bowed.

You exhaled and began to exit, "I'll catch up with you all soon!" you called out.

As you exited the mess hall, you began to reminisce on the old days of being a Padawan and filling around with Anakin. The two of you always managed to pull off shenanigans that usually resulted in a conference by the council, but you wouldn't change a thing. You turned the corner to head to your quarters when you knocked into a solider, causing him to drop his helmet.

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry...Rex?" you gasped, once you realized who it was.

Rex's jaw dropped, "General. You remember my name?"

"I remember every soldier's name," you grinned, using the force to pick up his helmet, "especially the special ones." You handed him his helmet.

"Is that a compliment, sir?" he asked, slowly taking his helmet from you.

You bit your lower lip, "Perhaps. How has the war been for the 501st?"

He let out a heavy sigh, "There's always some uphill battles, but I think we are all just glad to be back on Kamino. Even if it's just for seven rotations."

"Me too!" you nodded. Trying to hide your reddening cheeks in his presence was nearly impossible. They say war drains you, but Rex was even more handsome than you remembered.

"Sir? Aren't you always on Kamino though?" he asked, making a confused face.

"Oh no. I mean I'm glad that the 501st is back. You guys are the finest soldiers to come out of my training. My favorite to be around, if I may add."

Rex's entire demeanor when from solider talking to general to a look of more compassion, "You mean that?"

"Lying isn't the Jedi way. And even if I wasn't a Jedi, who would lie to someone like you? Don't sell yourself short, Rex. Don't think just because you're 'just a clone' you're any less than anyone else. And-"

You stopped for a moment, realizing what words. were actually coming out of your mouth.

"And.." you drew out the n sound, "Don't forget to pick a time slot for your evaluation! Can't wait to see how much you've grown on the battlefield!" you rushed to say, before taking off to your quarters at a quick pace.

As you hastily walked away, Rex turned to look at you. He wasn't quite sure what to make of what you said. As far as he could remember, you were always kind to him, compassionate with your words, but never that caliber. Though he would have loved to think of it as a flirtatious encounter, he knew that would be something he could only dream of and continued to make his way to the mess.

"Are you knifing stupid!?" you yelled to yourself as you entered your quarters. In that moment you knew you messed up. If there was anything you were taught as a youngling, is was that admitting your attachments is a tell tale sign you are completely attached. You sighed and flung your body onto your bed, hoping a nap would clear your mind.

Meanwhile, Rex ate his grub hastily. This wasn't common for him at all. Especially since the men of the 501st were used to actually conversing with Rex during meals.

"What's got you eating like a bat out of hell?" Fives asked, turning his head to face his vod.

"Just a little busy," Rex mumbled, stuffing the remaining food in his mouth.

Fives raised an eyebrow, "With what? We have six whole rotations for evaluations, and our evaluator is General (Y/LN). You've said before you two were friendly during your training. I'm sure she'll go easy on you!"

Rex didn't respond.

"And last we heard, you have no interning on becoming Commander Rex," Jesse butted in, "That takes less work off your shoulders. Some of us are looking for promotions."

"You really think you're getting promoted to arc trooper," Hardcase laughed, getting an eye roll in response.

Rex finally got up, "I saw General (Y/LN) in the hall and she asked if I wanted to assist with ARC promotions," he lied, "Just thinking about whether or not I'm fit for that responsibility."

He walked away, wanting nothing more than to find Anakin's droid, R2.

"Told you you should have been kissing Rex's shebs!" Hardcase hummed at Jesse as Rex exited the mess hall.

At last he was alone with his thoughts. He couldn't stop thinking about your conversation with him. As much as his heart told him it was flirtatious, his mind told him other wise. It didn't take Rex long to find R2.

"Hey R2!" he called, the droid rolling towards him and greeting him with a series of beeps.

"I need to know if I have access to know where General (Y/LN)'s quarters are located."

R2 buzzed, telling Rex the location.

"She gave me access?" he replied softly, "strange. Thank you."

Rex made his way through the seemingly never ending halls. He figured the Jedi quarters had to be hidden deep in the halls of Kamino. After what felt like forever he reached the door to your quarters and knocked.

A knock startled you from your nap. In a hurry, you straightened up your bed and laid out your meditation mat, sitting in a meditative state.

"Enter," you called, your eyes shut. As the person entered the room, your eyes were still shut. By reaching out to the Force, you knew it was Rex.

"Captain, you seem a bit, conflicted," you announced opening your eyes to look at him, "take a seat."

The door shut behind him and he sat down across from you on your meditation mat.

"You do know that Captains are not permitted to supervise ARC selection, correct?" you asked, tilting your head slightly.

His lips parted, "Sir?"

You smirked, "Jedi thing. I know what you told your brothers." You stopped for a moment and saw his face drop, "but I would have done the same."

"Huh?"

"What's bothering you, Rex?"

"Uh, nothing. Just nervous about evaluations."

"You think you can lie to a Jedi," you rolled your eyes, cocking your head at him again.

Rex pressed his lips together and looked down at your meditation mat, "you know why I'm here don't you?"

"Perhaps," you shrugged, inching your body towards his.

He swallowed at your closeness to him and he whispered, "so what was it?"

You gave him a shy smile and leaned into him, pressing a soft kiss against his cheek. For being at war for so long, his skin was surprisingly soft.

"That should answer your question, Rex."

Rex's cheeks were flushed, a tan outline of your lips stained on his cheek.

"I'm sorry, Rex," you sighed, moving back to your spot on the meditation mat.

"For? You easily just made me the luckiest man in the galaxy. I've wanted this moment for a long time.  Figured I would be foolish to actually dream of it." Rex's smile remained on his face, "If I don't do my evaluation, do I just get to stay on Kamino until I take it?"

You chuckled, "I get this is your home, but trust me, you'd rather be out on the battlefield."

"I can't get cheek kisses on the battlefield," he smirked contagiously.

The two of you looked at each other in an awkward silence.

Rex finally broke it, "Don't get my wrong, your training is flawless, but unfortunately I wasn't given  romance lessons, so I'm going to give this my best try," he paused for a moment, "would you be interested in a late night snack together in the mess tonight?"

"As long as you're interested in late night holovids in my quarters afterwards," you blushed back.

Rex confidently beamed, "It's a date." He reached out for your hand and softly kissed the back of it, "Now as much as I would love to stay, I have an evaluation to practice for."

You looked up at him as he left the room, "A little birdie told me you'll pass."
