There is a part of me that recognizes itself in HABIT. Specifically in the way he is other. Nonhuman.

I’m not saying that I believe that if someone were to sample my DNA and send it off to a lab for analysis that it would come up as something other than human. The body is human. I know that it is. However, I also know that the body isn’t mine. It’s never felt like mine. It’s not a vessel I own or control. It’s not a home. It's a prison. A cage made from flesh. I feel like I lost my sense of self the moment this thing was born.

I have no core beliefs about me, who I am or what I was before I was confined to the body I am in. I have no real solid memories from my life before. I have no sense of home. No comfort. All I have is little fragments. Vague impressions. The innate sense that this is all wrong. The secret knowledge that I am an outsider disguised as an insider. The sense of being trapped where I’m not supposed to be. And I suppose that is why I love him and envy him all at once.

HABIT has the freedom that I don't. He is free to be himself. He can switch bodies whenever it suits him. He has switched bodies countless times before. He switched and switched until he found Evan… his perfect vessel.

Is it wrong that I want that for myself? To be myself? To find a home? But what does that even mean for me? What am I?

So, a new Oswald The Lucky Rabbit series is in development for Disney+ after the original series planned was scrapped 4 years ago. If I'm gonna be honest, while I'm happy we're finally getting an Oswald Series I can't say I'm excited just yet. I'm not a fan of the idea of it being a Live Action / Animated hybrid as a fully 2D animated series is what I look for in an Oswald Series, I'm also scared of the idea of it being CGI, I really hope they take the Roger Rabbit route and make it 2D hand drawn animation, or at the very least smooth & expressive rigged animation. I also hope Oswald won't be the only character from his world in the series, add Ortensia, Pete and introduce new characters like the scrapped Oswald Series planned to do. Honestly I wish they would've continue with the scrapped Oswald series since they were going to add new characters, along with cartoonists such as Matt Danner being involved, and it was going to be a full 2D animated series. I'll definitely stick around for the new Oswald series, but as of right now I'm more concerned than excited, but I guess I'll just have to wait and just have to hope it'll be good. Also I hope Frank Welker returns to voice Oswald, I still never got used to David Errigo Jr's Oswald voice.

Devin May Cry Netflix

Look. I've never played Devil May Cry, not a single game. I knew very little going into this show. But man this was a really good and fun show!

All I see is a bunch of negativity coming from the DMC fan base, and look I can accept you wanting an proper adaptation of your video game; but that doesn't mean you have to be an ass hat to this new continuity.

This is a non-canon story, if you want the original DMC then go back and replay the games! Complaining about the story being different in this is like complaining that Sonic 3 isn't the same as Sonic Adventures 2. Its not meant to be exact, its meant to take the characters and ideas and use them in a way to reintroduce them to a newer generation of people.

A Majority of complaints I've see are about Lady being the main character instead of Dante when that's blatantly untrue. God forbid a WOMEN be important to the story. Another complaint I've seen is Dante being weaker then his game counterpart. This Dante wasn't trained to fight by his father like he was in the games; he has no idea how his powers work until the Rabbit explains it to him. He didn't even KNOW he was half demon! Lets allow the character to learn and grow and get stronger thru the series. While Lady has been training and is in a special forces unit for fighting demons. Even though Dante has been fighting demons for a while he has mostly been relying on his extreme healing factor and speed rather than actual technique from what we can really see.

I also see people complaining about backstories. majorly that we don't fully get Dante's full story just the clip notes of it. But you have to realize the creators were only given 8 episodes to tell their story. unfortunately that means cutting things for time and Dante's back story at this point is not the most relevant to the story. We get Rabbit and Lady's back stories because they are relevant to the current plot of the show (Lady's is more so used a mirror to Rabbits). If we are to get another season it would most likely be focused on Dante finding and fighting Vergil where we would most likely get to see the entire back story from both boy's point of views.

People seem to be forgetting that the goal is to get another season to keep exploring these characters. I'm sure that in the first video game Dante isn't the same person he is in the last because he had time to grow. These 8 episodes are introducing us (and Dante) to EVERYTHING. He will (hopefully) grow in future season(s). People are expecting to much from such a short season. Unfortunate as it is this is how streaming services do things, as much as id rather we get 12 episodes or more we are only given 8 and they have to make due with what they have.

And the immigration analogy. So much about this is hated but its because people are only looking at it at face value. Yes, Rabbits plan is WRONG but that doesn't mean everything he stood for was wrong. letting in every demon is a bad idea. Yes. But dose that mean all those innocent Makaian's should be dyeing and suffering to the corrupt and gruesome ruling class of demons? No. I would BET that this idea will be working towards Dante (or maybe Virgil?) becoming the new ruler/king of Makai after defeating King Mundus. Perhaps after kicking out the American invasion and closing the door to hell behind them and sealing it he will be left (maybe with his brothers help) to restructure and try and repair Makai. (pretty sure he and his brother get trapped in hell in the games? could be wrong I've only watched one hour long video about the games so I could be misremembering.) I would expect Dante to grow and change as a character before this were to happen but again that's the point of multiple seasons. The perfectionists solution to immigration isn't to let everyone into another country; its to fix the situation they are coming from.

While no we don't need politics to be part of the show it is not our choice as viewers to make. This is what the Director wanted to go with so it's what we are getting, if you don't like it then don't watch it and just enjoy the games. This isn't the games, and maybe if it was a reimagining of something I cared about and grew up with I'd view it differently but as a new comer to the series I really enjoyed it and will be looking more into the franchise as a whole. This show succeeded in its mission to bring in new people to the fan base, just as the sonic movie did for its franchise.

I really hope we get another season and this isn't just left as a one and done show. Please look at this is in a new lens and not as a connection to the video games. Allow them to tell the story they want to tell. Maybe I'll re-watch the show and have different feelings in the future but after a first watch I really liked it. The animation and soundtrack are spectacular and really nostalgic for me as someone who grew up watching AMV's on YouTube in the 2010's.

I don't normally post my opinions about things online and just keep to myself but this felt important for me to talk about. Was there a particular event in Bonbon's life that caused her shift in personality from happy Minibon to current adult Bon?

(For the lazy readers) Yes. As much as I say it was a gradual change, I can divide it up into 4 major events and from those events, the 3rd one is (imo) the most impactful one on her personality shift. Tdlr, in 7th grade she ends up changing classes and ends up with no friends and with falling grades, that spills into disaster. Warning, Big lore dump bellow:

(Now the yapping answer for Edu, since you are the only one reading all of it. If you aren't Edu and read all of this, please say something I will give u a cookie). To talk about it, I need to give some context about the previous stages. Her life doesn't happen in a vacuum, so the events that came beforehand, already changed shaped in ways that matter (and we have to be on the same page here).

I want to say, this is all a bit WIP, I don't have good names for the events despite having somewhat clear timelines, it goes: Birthday Party, School change, 7th grade, and graduation.

Birthday Party

This takes place when Bonbon is very young (the bon on the left in the drawing). It is also what I was drawing on that unfinished comic 💔. I still plan to BUT, I have been thinking, and I will probably draw some simpler episodes before that comic. Anyhow, the consequences of that party is in a way where it all began. Like I did put in the sheet, Mini Bon is a very energetic cute bunny, and in almost natural way she tried talking with the entire class and considered everyone, even some outside of it, as friends. That all stops after the party. Kinda like a harsh dose of reality is injected all at once on her special day. Her trust with everyone, including her closest friends, suffers greatly and she gets hugely upset. From the this point forward, she kinda pulls back from interacting with most of them. She becomes more cautious, more insecure and far less extroverted. And welp, from the pov of an outsider you would look at her after a few weeks the effects might seem "subtle", but they linger on for the next years and have an impact, even if she doesn't realize it or thinks about it. (This event is probably the one I need to work out more, so if it feels a bit empty thats why)

School change

it's fairly obvious how impactful this one can be. Bon unlike her former classmates, ends up changing to a school in a different on village. It's scary, new environment, new schedules and routines, lots of new people, teachers and expectations. Bon doesn't handle it well. For example, the new schedule means she has to wake up way earlier while arriving home later. While this isn't that bad, it does mean she is more tired and has less free time to have fun. While the new routine it's a bit brutal for her initially, she struggles a lot. Getting the wrong bus, leaving the wrong bus stop, missing the bus, and many other things she screws up that I won't dive rn (future comic episodes perhaps) Trying to make new friends is not easy either. All classmates already know each other and have their friends group formed. It leaves her into this situation when the bell rings, she is left awkwardly alone. Bon becomes more anxious, shy and bit more withdrawn.

It's not all bad luck, Bon gets "adopted" by Cinnamon (who's design I haven't shown yet) and they become such good friends they turn into besties. At this moment you see the previous event affect how she behaves, no longer being the extrovert, she was and being far more cautious with who she chooses to be friends, she ends up focusing on just this one friendship. Quality>quantity way. This for real helps her survive the next 2 years in that school. Sounds good eh? Still, the silly nerd mini bon you see me post around, only exists to those who are closest to her (Cinnamon). Rest of the class knows nothing about her, to them she is just a quiet ghost during class and outside nobody. They don't really care either. Neither does bon, she already has what she wanted.

7th Grade

Ah the breaking point! (middle bon in the drawing) After 2 years, due to the school system works and the subjects she picked, she gets shuffled to a total different class. Cinnamon, despite still being in the same school, stops passing most time with Bon. Not only their calendars don't match up, them having no means of contact outside of school, and having classes in different blocks of school meant they really only saw each other a few times a week. Cinnamon meanwhile just made new cool friends, ending up passing time with them instead. (dw bon, at least you had to be replaced by like 5 people) Bonbon on the other hand fails to connect with any new people (partly a lot due to the 2 previous phases). it's not for a lack of trying mind you, she really doesn't connect with anyone the same way she did with the fox, she got extremely unlucky.

Another factor into play, 7th grade is when school gets more serious. Bon is a intelligent person, but that actually backfired on her. She never felt the need to study or work outside of school. What she learned in class was usually enough for her to get average-good grades. But from this point onward you had to study and practice. But when you pass most of your life without studying, you don't learn or get the motivation to do it from one day to the other. Nor do you make it a habit. (hint: she starts falling) To make it worse, school calendar just got brutal, she could be waking up at like 7:00 and arriving home at 19:40. Aside from being extremely boring, it sucks the energy out of you. You arrive home and the last thing you want to see is a freaking textbook. You just want to relax and have fun for once, so you you game a little too much.

I want to put yourself in her boots. You have basically no friends, your grades in school plummet, no matter how hard you try. At the same time you arrive home constantly tired and drained, also you are a teen, puberty is a thing and it does affect your behavior. How would you feel? Welp, for this poor teen bunny girl, saying she got very upset is to put it lightly. It nukes her self-esteem, everything just starts feeling hopeless to her. Small things change, thinking of a pretty outfit becomes an annoying chore, and no one would care either way, so you skip that for the extra minutes of sleep. Quickly, trying to talk with people at school takes too much energy and feels like a waste. You become grumpy, closed of and rude sometimes. Hard to find reasons to smile when life sucks am right? I could go on but you probably get how this is the most significant "major point" bc she gets very similar to how Bonbon is later in life. It's basically the middle ground between the 2 phases, you can still make her smile, she still would appreciate if you talked to her. Her eyes will light up if you bring a topic she likes. This phase lasts for around 2 years, think of it as a big storm. (in the drawing this is Bonbon on the right) Afterwards she manages to enter contact with Cinnamon outside of school and they reconnect again. Her grades are no longer going in into hell, heck some improve. Later on she gets lucky and even lands in the same class of Cinnamon again. Life starts to look up til-

Graduation, it is the final one, which I will leave for another day or ask. The final piece for how she becomes nowadays Bonbon.

I hope you enjoyed reading this very WIP, cringe, badly written lore dump. Hopefully it gives y'all a clearer picture of what I'm aiming for tho, and that I in fact do have in mind a clear story and episodes layed out for Bonbon. (Granted i have to write them and draw them). Of course I didn't go into much detail, I mainly explained the consequences of each phase. I didn't go through the episodes of those phases, since many of these "events", (or the correct word would be "phases") last a few years and are a lot of episodes together. Welp thank you<33.

DMC Netflix definitely was... an experience, to say the least. Like, I have never rooted for antagonists before, but here I am lmao Lady is such an unlikable character in this one, it was almost a pain to watch. Also how they nerfed Dante to make her look cooler is certainly an interesting choice lmao AND social commentary in this suck too. Like, demons as an allegory for immigrants? Sounds kinda racist ngl, especially when Dante, a blond white man says that they, uh, are going to actively kill humans And white Lucia. WHITE Lucia. Same story as with Casca, they took a badass poc woman and whitewashed the hell out of her. I'm having Berserk 2016 flashbacks.

Thank you for all the White Rabbit content, I adore how you write him. Do you have an advice on keeping him character when putting him in all these different scenarios? I have ideas I want to put on paper myself lol

obviously this is just my take on and I'm not an expert but when I write anything I always try and focus on the character's voice, their cadence of speech and their mannerisms. there's a lot of subjectivity of course when it comes to portraying things like their personality and choices, especially when it comes to fanfic and AU where you can play around a lot more with what they do, but nailing down the voice is I think what helps me the most when keeping someone in character. if I can't picture them realistically saying it, then I don't write it.

white rabbit in particular has a very eloquent speech pattern, sharp, theatrical, projects an air of confidence, a lot of very intentional word choice, and tends to alternate between smooth, flowery, patronizing language and deep, low growls when he's angry or trying to make a point. he doesn't seem like the type to swear (doesnt cuss at all in the show if i recall correctly) though I can imagine him dropping a "fuck" or a "shit" in certain contexts (vergil is the same way to me honestly lmfao)

Hoon Lee (his actor) does a really amazing job with his performance, and gives rabbit this underlying tension to almost everything he says, like rabbit is 2 seconds away from snapping and going on a tirade at all times (which he basically is.)

I think another important thing to remember with white rabbit is that his domineering and in control demeanor is also just that: a mask. being "the rabbit" is a role he assumed after the tragedy completely broke him. I think there's a lot of dissociation and survivors guilt to dig into with his character, amidst all the cruelty and rage and grief. there's also shades of pettiness and immaturity buried in there too.

I grew up in a cultural environment that was 80% Anatolian/SWANA/Med and 20% Germanic countryside I was refugeed in in early youth. I don't know what a Teletubby is. Pingu frightens me. Having to pick one was tough and I struggled to debate on which ships even were my favorites from each au. So I just turned this into a answer for each au. Cause I wanna draw em all.

I also ran out of motivation to re-draw the sketchs since it wasn't letting me size the canvas up and it was smaller than I anticipated so I tried to use my Snip tool to make it not Tiny.

Pretty Pill's Au: Julex. -Alex and Julius are always there for each other even though Alex has to leave by the beginning of the au. -(Moved from one asylum to another since their methods of 'curing him' weren't 'working')

Missing Alice: Tied between Julex and Osix. - Oswald kinda has Felix hostage through the whole thing but it slowly turns into them just hanging out and Felix being weirdly helpful. - Felix also get's to learn about Oswalds motivations and even his past which exposes Felix to a lot of realizations.

-Julius is legit possessing Alex and chose to save his soul before it could pass on, Alex may be in a dolls body, but the two work on escaping together and Alex values Julius's efforts to save him. Especially when he chooses Alex over himself in the story. (His crush is cute ok lemme have this.)

Alex Shot Cupid: ..... You knew it was going to be Julex right. It'd be silly if not lmao.

Field King: Okay.... so. Weirdly enough Osix is my favorite Ship out of this au. Don't get me wrong I still looooooovvveee Bendystraw for this au.

But they both were tortured by sovereigns and were saved by a Sovereign, had to slowly adjust to the situations thrown at them and even had issues trusting each other. Only to find they both share a lot in common.

And Felix is very cute when taking care of Oswald's remaining 35 kids.

The bois need comfort and why not from someone who understands their pain.

4 Dumbasses living together: Bendystraw

This was my first Bendystraw au and I've seriously clung to this thing for 5 years and you'll have to tear it from my cold dead hands.

It was a close call with the Osix in the story, but the only reason Osix didn't win was due to the fact that Felix doesn't really listen to Oswald through out the original story of the au.

It's changed a bit now, but even with the new additions. Felix and Oswald's souls are Deteriorating through out the whole story which drives the 2 pretty crazy and twists their love into something almost evil

if it weren't for the small moments where Felix and Oswald break through the warped soul connection and connect even if for 5 seconds they'd lose a lot more points.

The Sun Crashed : Another Tie. (Catnap x Dogday) & (Alastor x Simon)

I would have added Picky Piggy X Maggie Marco....

But then I'd go on and on about all of the ships I put into the au and all of them would be listed cause I love them all almost equally but the Sun Siblings relationships beat out the rest cause I like the argumentitive Simon and Alastor moments and just the cute Dogday and Catnap ones.
