The state of watching the entirety of Ninjago is so sad, how am I supposed to get my friends to show the series when it's like:
"Okay so you start with Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu, not the one just labeled Ninjago those are the later seasons. Anyways after Skybound you need to pause and pirate Day of the Departed, it's not very good but it finished Morro's arc for a bit and it's plot relevant. Then once you finish it pick back up at Hands of Time, or skip it nobody really likes that season. Then stop again, and pirate the Oni Trilogy, then go BACK to Netflix for the Fire and Ice Chapters, AND THEN watch Prime Empire, Master of the Mountain, The Island, Seabound, and Crystalized on YouTube. Now we go back to Netflix to watch Dragon's Rising!! Also don't look up the show online there are leaks everywhere, you will get spoiled!!"
Lego I'm begging you, just upload all Ninjago Content to YouTube, at least the stuff before Dragon's Rising, there's already a solid amount on YouTube, just put the rest there!!! We'll even make the playlists for you, just PLEASE make it easier to access!!

I mean I do know a pretty good pirating website, which you guys should TOTALLY avoid because it has a bunch of anime and cartoons that are easily accessible ILLEGALLY, and FOR FREE!!! You guys should totally DM me so I can show you the website you should avoid, especially if you wanna make watching Ninjago a little easier.
Edit: In the replies someone linked another site you can use that looks a little more organized then what I use lol
#For context: They recently removed like half the show from Netflix and nobody seems to know why#Also yes I know I forgot to mention the pilot. I honestly don't think it all that great and you get context for it later anyways#Ninjago#lego ninjago#lego ninjago dragons rising#Dragons Rising#Ninjago dragons Rising#Ninjago dr

Ranchers as Grant Wood’s American Gothic was supposed to be sillay and goofy but then I set the ranch on fire and one thing led to another and now it’s. sad DFBJDFGB I’m really happy with how this came out though, so!! Here’s my week 3 piece for the Hermitcraft Design Challenge thingie :]
#team rancher#tangotek#jimmy solidarity#solidarity gaming#SolidarityGaming#tango#double life smp#shepshermitdesign23#art escapades#tried something different and tried to be really loose with my painting in this :]#regarding the original—#ppl apparently saw the painting as an out of touch rural painting in a modern world#whereas wood intended to paint it as a positive portrayal of ideal rural living#so.#at some point the ranchers became m-1 ranchers and then this piece became a complicated commentary -#about everyone else seeing the ranchers as out of touch / removed from reality and the real world since their relationship was confined to -#double life#meanwhile ranchers themselves are happy with each other and see their relationship (despite the context/ the games) as an ideal one#m-1#anyway I’m fine thanks for asking#back to botwcast DGBJDFGB

Random observation that the game is somewhat inconsistent with implied character sizes, especially between 'overworld' sprites and battle sprites, and it reflects in how a lot of folks draw characters.
For instance, a lot of people (myself included!) draw Lyle as Very Large because his battle sprite takes up a large portion of the screen... but his overworld sprite is actually comparatively small, almost human-sized.
(also at some angles the cloak cuts off his googly eyes and makes it look like he's going >w< but that's an unrelated aside that just makes me laugh every time I look at the sprite)
This is presumably because he was intended to be recruitable, and Frankie mentioned on stream that larger sprites wouldn't work as follower sprites (after a comment about possibly having Masked Shadow as a party member, incidentally).
Meanwhile, most people who've drawn Spine (again, myself included!!) tend to assume it is relatively human-sized... but its overworld sprite...
.... is... actually pretty damn big...
Again, presumably towards a different end (to get as much detail into it as possible, which would be immensely difficult in scale with human characters), but as usual, I tend to think too much about these things.
I know it's nothing because for instance vehicles are drawn way too small for the purposes of fitting them in, scaling issues in sprite games will always be a thing.
#look outside#look outside game#look outside spoilers#look outside screenshots#look outside lyle#look outside spine#i also find it interesting how many people automatically assume spine is male#i will continue to use it/its until canonically proven otherwise#but there is a prevalent correlation with the assumption that a creepy stalker would be male#i really want to draw spine more but removed from the context of stalking behavior#because i just really enjoy drawing resident-evilly skinned mutants with huge claws and unnecessary spikes

there’s actually no way robin hobb wrote “He swung his pale eyes to meet mine, the gold of them mirroring the firelight. Light ran up his cheekbones and dwindled as it merged with his hair. I gave my head a small shake. “In the space of a sundown, you show me the wide world from a horse’s back, and the soul of the world within my own walls.”” sat back, and went, ah perfect, my heterosexual fitz agenda lives another day
#the soul of the world within my own walls?? idk if removing this quote from context makes it unclear but by this he is literally referring#to the sight of the fool as the ‘soul of the world#yeah ok gayboy#rote#tawny man spoilers#fools errand spoilers#fitzchivalry farseer#the fool#beloved#fitzloved

The Parent Trap
---
I ended up watching the original 1961 Parent Trap and LORD but there's a lot going on in that film. But ignoring the more . . . distressingly unhealthy 60s attitude toward marriage dynamics. . . The actual twin swap is such a good angle (and the effects genuinely hold up really well) I just wanted to capture the stress of trying to assimilate into a life so unlike your own, and that gut punch moment when they get to meet their missing parent for the first time.
And from there I just couldn't help imagine a future parent reconciliation, with a couple of siblings added into the mix . . .
Unlike in the film where they were right to have gotten divorced (and shoulda stayed super divorced)- Takaaki and Kiyoko's seperation was very much a symptom of Toranosuke's scandal and demanded by Kiyoko's father. So when they meet once again as a result of the Twin's shenanigans, the two of them could easily develop a genuine connection, now they're older, more experienced, and freed from the pressure of expectation. And I'm not immune to making every red eyed Dangan character an Ishimaru sibling
(Truth be told, this has been on my mind ever since @puckishpal 's just marvellous fic Changed, and I really wanted to get this out in time for @mini-mecha-cowboy 's Kiyotaka week prompts AU and Lookalike, but uuuh- I managed to miss that by just a few ;; )

i am so deranged that Yeah Actually the first two of wu's chosen ones, the two who have been together the longest, from whom it all started, now met their mother's fates. one's an almost retired parent and the others gone never to be found, because jay walker from before the merge is in fact forever lost even if jay does regain all his memory. and cole now will with no doubt picking protecting his kids over a lost treasure hunt with the others. neither of them are full time ninja when they were the ones who started the team from ground up. and every time it was them who made or broke the team. after zanes death, after nyas, after they lost their powers, it was them.
#if cole wasnt there jay wouldve turnt into morro and if jay wasnt there there would be no team#jay walker#cole brookestone#*#ninjago spoilers#kinda but eh#bruise ninjago#bruiseshipping#but i do mean it in a removed from romantic/platonic spectrum context

Anyways when are we gonna stop pretending this isn't about "getting back at" an imagined trans guy. Good job! You both finally recognized trans men as men, AND ignored that they are punished for being men in one sentence. Really special work happening here.

The controversy is in only considering trans men as "men" in a way to hurt them. While also in a way misgendering:
"You're only a man because I know implying you act like a cis man in all the bad ways hurts you. In reality I see you all as hysterical bitches out to hurt the rest of the trans community" isn't progressive. It's just being nasty to be nasty.
Imagine hating trans people so much you joke about wishing they all died, then make posts like this, and assume that people will still think you actually care about the trans community.
#like. come on.#imagine thinking acting like a middleschool bully is fun and cool ??#like. you know what youre doing.#and dont start on the “well this is about trans women and the 'dude' problem!!”#bc if it was REALLY about that then trans men wouldnt get mentioned like that#as most trans men get that you just dont call a trans woman dude.#“how do i find the sneakiest eay to take shots at trans people i dont like” isnt very progressive and leftist of you#be better#also nice job using the 'dude' in both the gendered and gender removed contexts#you are ALMOST to the point of recognizing how that word works !!!#wheres the fucking post breaking down the five different ways that Dude developed#“dude” in the “reference to a masculine person”#“dude!” the exclamation similar to “fuck!”#“dude” with a comma as in leveling the playing field as spoken from a woman to a man#etc etc etc#its used in two different ways structurally in this post#which. would be interesting to discuss. if this entire thing wasnt steeped in transandrophobia#idk the more i see of these posts the more im convinced#that theres a small group of trans gals on here (SMALL) that are angry that trans men exist for a number of reasons#and they just wanna take their anger out on acceptable targets#mark my words these same accounts wouldve been making these same posts about ace/aro ppl when it was cool to dunk on them#like why do people have to take shots at people in community with them rn#we are being hunted for sport irl and then you get online and find ppl trying to crumble solidarity#with silly little stupid shit like this

all discourse aside i LOVE how often dean inspires 'he would not fucking say that' syndrome. that's my showgirl. smoke and mirrors special effects. 'you should be able to see that i am 90% crap. i get rid of that, what then?' he's like that chapter of sideways story from wayside school where a kid comes to class who is this matryoshka doll of raincoats and when you finally peel them all off it's just a dead rat. & it's sooooo fun trying to find the center of him but also i don't know that the secret real authentic dean winchester can be meaningfully separated from the image he projects???
#copy of a copy of a copy of a guy#dean winchester#spn#and i'm not necessarily interested in removing him from his context like the whole we have to rescue dean from the story he's in thing.#but maybe that's just bc i'm a tragedy enjoyer

For Liefer to pull up a Camus quote like this is quite laughable because of how the dynamics mirror each other. In the modern day, we have a status quo where Palestinians continue to be imprisoned and murdered and raped and segregated, denied basic medical care for years on end, all on their own land — while Jewish Israelis (to make distinction from Palestinians with Israeli citizenship, as many liberal zionists love to point out) suffer no consequences for anything, even if they play a direct role in the continued erasure and genocide of Palestinians. So if given a choice between suffering no consequences while benefiting from the status quo (that will not change unless the oppressed take it upon themselves to change their circumstance) and suffering consequences in the form of direct personal loss (with the strategy of forcing things to change by ennacting the same type of violence that the occupied experience on a daily basis onto the occupiers), of course someone who stands to lose nothing from the continuation of the status quo would rather the status quo continue if he has something to lose otherwise. Camus, when he said this quote, was not being righteous or overly sensitive. If anything, it shows how little he understood at the time of saying this quote. Because he didn't understand that an Algerian will suffer in both scenarios even if he (Camus) is safe, and for him to say something like this when people lived generations worth of violence for his and his family's (social) benefit is annoying and just plain offensive. Who is he, as a Frenchman born in occupied Algeria, to say what is worth justice when he only stands to lose anything in one scenario but not the other? He did not experience life as an Algerian native in French occupation. He might have observed it, growing up poor, yes, but he never LIVED it. Liefer might have observed the horror of settler colonialism, but that's nothing like experiencing it firsthand. To be the object of hatred to people who have higher status and more rights than you. It's just not his place as a person with nothing to lose if the status quo continues to comment on anything like this. What's the underlying meaning of this quote? "I'd rather others continue to suffer than myself experiencing suffering once."
I'm not saying Liefer doesn't have a right to mourn whoever. Im not even saying he has a duty to accept the consequences he experiences. But to say something so heartless as "I prefer the safety of my own rather than justice" within the larger, nearly century worth of context, is just insensitive and really belies his true opinions of the liberation of Palestine if he's so comfortable saying this outloud with moral authority in the middle of what is an outright bloodbath of Palestinians across Palestine. It's the timing of saying something like this because to say it now of all times when the entire world ignores or even encourages the violence in Gaza but mourns the death of Israelis? An Algerian born Frenchman and Israeli are going to be mourned on an international scale... but Palestinian and Algerian natives? Their deaths are regarded as facts of life by the rest of the world.
This makes it seem like I hate Camus, but I honestly don't, but I think the way Leifer is holding this quote up at face value and as the height of reason really is annoying. People like to mention Camus' "if" in this case as proof that he's actually saying "this is not real justice so therefore I do not have to accept it," but who is he to say what is or is not justice? The point I'm getting at is the people who benefit from occupation, in this case, Camus and Liefer have no right to determine what is or is not justice, despite their personal beliefs. The occupier has no right to tell the occupied what they should do to get freed. That alone is an arrogance in assertion that is so offending — the assertion that the occupier knows how to free the occupied in what *he* considers justice and the occupied just need to do whatever the occupier tells them to do. Because whether they both like it or not, they still benefit from and are part of the occupying force, and therefore have no real reason to fight the occupation at their own expense — the occupation is a violence that they are alright with inflicting if it means they cannot lose anything or anyone.
Also the idea that liefer indirectly compares himself to Camus is a little funny to me.
#this makes it seem like i really hate camus but i dont i think hes an alright writer#but to remove his works from his own sociopolitical context is annoying and a false evaluation of the meaning of his world#*his work#camus is somewhat orientalist in his works. he has some interesting ideas but it doesnt change the fact that a frenchman is of a different#class that other algerians#even if camus was poor growing up - even the richest of algerians suffered occupation in a way camus never did#im almost certain liefer was born affluent and is still affluent#so there is no class solidarity between liefer and a working class palestinian#like how there was between camus and working class algerians#so he cant even compare himself to camus
