This was written for Vanweek, an event hosted by hallogenrobotics on tumblr dedicated to Vanny and Vanessa. I made this as the one thing I'm planning on doing for this event, and I based it on the second day AU prompt 'bad ending', but I'm using it as a regular prompt, meaning that this is day 1's Free space and free space means Renegade AU time, because it immediately gave me ideas and allowed me to flesh out what happened between the end of the Raid and before Prelude of Ruin. So here we have a post-Raid pre-Ruin scenario, where everyone thinks things are finally going to die down, but Faz Ent is planning on kidnapping Ness in order to "regain control over Vanny". A fact that makes Sylvia's thoughts that she'll be able to go home in a few days sting just a little more.
=°•.🌹.•°=
Immediately after the Raid, Officer Vanessa Sylvia Blake's first dream is a horrible nightmare born from the little Seer's deductions. The Seer keeps trying to figure out every little detail of the megaplex, now more than ever thanks to having more information thanks to the Raid, but he manages to pull a sleeping Sylvia into his deductions too because of one ghost who had good intentions.
You see, Sylvia is posessed by Elizabeth and Gregory is posessed by Evan, and Liz wanted to help out her brother and the Seer whom he possesses, but she didn't know that it it would pull her own host into the deduction too.
Now in a mindscape born of information and deductions, Sylvia can't do anything but live through one of Gregory's Bad Deductions.

[🌹 Worst night's sleep 🌹]
Sylvia was exhausted.
The Raid had taken a toll on both her body and mind, so as soon as she got back to her temporary accommodation and sat down on her bed, she fell asleep, still in her old, torn, and bloodied guard uniform.
Fire raged around Sylvia.
Where… Was she?
She couldn't see much at all, and couldn't hear anything over the fire alarm, but she ran towards what she hoped was an exit. All the smoke seemed to be traveling that way. Her head was too fuzzy to remember if that was the correct option or the wrong option. But she had to take that chance. Her brain felt as if it was as full of smoke as her lungs.
As she ran, she found herself running up a flight if stairs, and then she hit fresh air.
Fresh early morning air.
It was still dark.
She couldn't see the stars.
And not a person in sight.
She headed over the edge of the building, hoping to gain some bearings on where she was.
Sylvia didn't exactly know what she was seeing.
A white blob surrounded by red on the floor below the megaplex.
Why was she back at the megaplex? Why was she on the roof?
Hadn't she just left that place for good? The Raid was over now; she never had to step foot back in this place again, right?
She tried to remem-
It suddenly felt as if a huge chunk of her mind had been ripped out. Her memories were failing her. But she couldn't let that stop her.
She had to save her sister before she could leave this place.
Then once they were out, she'd be able to help Mike plan the Raid as they'd finally have proof of Faz Ent kidnapping Ness.
But something in her gut told her that there was no goal anymore.
As she kept on looking down at the shapes on the tarmack below, they made sense.
That was the Vanny costume.
'Strange, why would she just throw it off the roof? Did someone free her when I wasn't looking?'
She thought to herself as the scene below was still a blur in her mind.
She felt as if she knew that she was in denial.
She kept on looking, and noticed something she already knew would make her wish that she hadn't seen it.
The costume wasn't empty.
The mask was a smaller white blob, and she saw the distinctive bleached blonde hair; one of the many things William had forced her sister into doing was bleaching her hair.
She had already seen everything on the ground below clearly, but just didn't want to acknowledge what she was seeing.
She did not want to acknowledge what she was seeing.
Her sister was on the ground, surrounded by blood, at the foot of the fire escape.
And so was Freddy, broken beyond reasonable repairs.
Had… Freddy pushed Ness off of the roof?
Even from up here, it was clear that Ness was dead. There were no signs of breathing. Her neck was at an awkward angle. There was too much blood, and Sylvia knew what too much blood actually looked like.
Nothing short of possession would save Ness now.
She had one question on her mind.
Why?
Why did that bear kill her sister?
Sylvia couldn't will herself to move. No matter how hard she tried or how much she wanted to run down the fire escape steps, she could hardly move. The tears didn't stop falling either. She didn't know when she started crying, but she couldn't stop. And even if she could, she wouldn't. She couldn't stop shaking. The mere thought of moving made her feel as if she was going to collapse. The heat around her from the building burning below her made her feel as if she was going to burn, but even with the fire, she still felt cold.
Distant.
So very very dizzy.
A flood of memories hit her like a truck. The raid was over. This was all suposed to be over. Why was she back at the breach. Why was her sister's hair back to bleached blonde when she'd dyed it before the Raid. Why did Freddy push her sister off of the roof again. Why was she far too late to grab her like she did last time, during the Raid when William controlled Freddy into making that attempt on Ness's life?
Why was she seeing this horrid scene in front of her eyes.
Sylvia collapsed to her knees. If her sister was dead, then the past month of her life meant nothing. Everything she tried to achieve had just been ripped away. Her sister would never experience the freedom they'd worked so hard to reclaim.
She didn't care as everything faded as the fire surrounded her.
Because even if the fire escape was still functioning, she didn't see a point.
Sylvia woke up slowly. There was no scream, nor was there a moment of shooting up out of bed.
Instead, she crawled out of bed, still shaking. She slowly pulled herself to her feet, but collapsed to the floor with a loud thud. As she hit the ground, she felt her hands brush against her face. Her cheeks were burning with tears, and she hadn't even noticed.
As she tried to pull herself up again, she heard the door open.
"Is everything OK? Gregory said he heard crying and then a thud."
It was Ness. She was alive.
Sylvia tried to open her mouth to respond, but only a pained wail escaped.
Almost as if on instinct, Ness crouched down by her older sister's side and gave her a hug.
Ness didn't need to know the specifics of Sylvia's dream to know vaguely what happened: Gregory had nightmares about the Breach incident and Raid. Ness just figured that her older sister was just having much of the same.
[🌹 Explanations 🌹]
Sylvia went over to Ness, Luis, and Gregory's room for the rest of the night. As Ness got back into bed, Sylvia noticed that the laptop that stored a copy of all of the Breach incident security camera recordings was not only on, but plugged into the wall. And Gregory was sitting nearby, looking a bit nervous.
"Gregory, are you running deductions again?" Sylvia asked.
Gregory nodded.
"You don't need to. Please, let the adults handle this. I know you don't trust adults to handle stuff properly, and believe me, you're justified, but you're still a kid," Sylvia wasn't mad: she couldn't be. She tried doubly hard to make sure that her tone matched her intentions too, because she genuinely just wanted Gregory to go back to having a childhood, "Try to enjoy yourself whilst you can. Deduce the best speedrun for your favourite game or something, please."
Gregory shook his head. "What was your nightmare about?" He asked with a particular look in his eyes. One of knowing and seriousness. Sylvia knew the look in Gregory's eye: he wasn't trying to change the subject.
"I was on the megaplex rooftop, and from what I could put together, Freddy had pushed Ness off of the roof before I got there…" Sylvia replied.
Gregory nodded.
"I'm sorry," the kid mumbled, "I don't know how, but you're connected to my deductions."
"It's Elizabeth," Sylvia stated almost immediately, "you saw her during the Raid. She only starting to appear after my managers started to micro-inject remnant into me well before the Riot, and she's why I was put in therapy. She'd been somewhat dormant until the Raid. Then during it, she started manifesting more again. Then you remember, in the fight against Afton: she wanted him dead more than I did I swear, she just flat out took over and was the last push we needed to make William burn himself alive. She's really changed since the CL4 and EnTrap incidents."
"Go on," Gregory seeemd slightly confused, but also as if he understood everything.
"Basically, now Liz and I have the same sort of connection that you and Evan do, and the fact that Liz and Evan are siblings," Sylvia started, paused, and then took a deep breath before continuing, "But it's simpler than you think: Evan is just asking Liz for help with his deductions: Liz did passively observe my perspective of the Breach, and Evan really doesn't want to accidentally simulate Ness getting torn apart again."
"So how does that put you - the actual you - in my deductions?" Gregory asked, knowing that Sylvia probably already knew the answer.
"When Liz accepted to help with the deduction, she essentially just joined the deduction; simple as that. And guess who also wound up getting dragged in because her body is connected to Liz's ghost because she's possessing me: me."
Gregory was silent for a moment before he replied. "How did you figure this out?"
"I just figured it out I guess. Helps that dealing with stuff like this is my day job. I'm sure you've noticed that you just know things that only Evan should know about," Sylvia mused, she would have not been entirely sure if it wasn't for the fact that she has spent plenty of time around posessed folk and had to learn how it all worked for her job as a paranormal responder, "It's that. Well, it's a bit more complex than that, but it's basically that: we can sometimes feel each others thoughts and emotions because she lives in my central nervous system."
"Figured as much," Gregory nodded, "I keep remembering the war that Evan died in, so you knowing that Liz agreed to help with deductions and you getting dragged in as a result should have been obvious."
"You're like, ten or something, knackered from the Raid, and have been running deductions - with memory locking - instead of sleeping. I'm surprised that you actually remember who I am," Sylvia gave Gregory a pat on the head as she spoke, "get some rest, kid."
Gregory nodded as he shut the laptop and clambered into bed.
Meanwhile, Sylvia bunkered down at the side of Ness and Luis's bed.
"Aren't you going back to your own room?" Gregory whispered.
Sylvia shook her head. "I don't think I'll be able to sleep without being in the same room as my sister tonight, if I can sleep at all."
"Fair. G'night," Gregory shrugged before falling asleep.
And that left Sylvia alone again.
"Everything ok?" She heard Ness's voice.
Sylvia had to stop herself from jumping; she'd forgotten that her sister was also awake. Ness was just so quiet these days, and just how quiet she was was pretty unnerving, unnerving because Sylvia knew why and how.
Sylvia shook her head. "No, I'm not. I saw you almost die so many times during the Raid, and Liz decided to help Gregory and Evan run deductions, which dragged me into it, which made me have to see you die during that deduction."
As she had spoke, her voice had shook, starting off with a small shake, and ending with Sylvia practically in tears, barely holding on.
She didn't think too much about the silence after she had spoke until she found herself in her sisters arms. Ness had managed to sneak to her side without Sylvia noticing. That much was expected; Ness had had a trial by fire in terms of having to learn to move around silently: William had demanded perfection and had dished out harsh punishments when perfection was not obtained; inhumanely unfair, seeing as that madman had been practically piloting Ness like a meat puppet the whole time that he had controlled her for whilst at the megaplex, so he had - to put it bluntly - been punishing Ness for his own shortcomings birthed of years of inactivity. Thinking about what William had put her little sister through made Sylvia cry even more.
"It's ok. I survived everything William threw at me during the Raid, and that nightmare of yours was just one of Gregory's deductions," Ness cooed as she held her sobbing sister, "and, if William wants to possess me again, he has to do so normally. His 'alternative vector' won't work anymore."
"Alternative vector?" Sylvia asked, "like, as in VR headsets?"
Ness shook her head. "Nope," she smiled, "that old family heirloom that I thought was the whole reason why he was able to possess me in the first place. 1 - it's broken now, and 2 - all it does, well did, was reduce my resistance to possession. Our great great great grandma was a medium who was resistant to possession so getting posessed hurt more, so she made it to help her help ghosts better and not be in agony so much, but cos it was made so so long ago, before anyone started to bother understanding ghosts, it had a bunch of complications. Like being tied to our bloodline because the use of it inadvertantly filled it with remnant - which GGG Gran did not know about either. So, it was only really useful to William because I already had a blood tie to it and a low possession resistance. It basically let him slip out of the headset he was hiding in and into me without causing the tell-tale pain that getting posessed by Mr I-got-springlocked-three-or-more-times would cause."
"So that's why when it happened to Cassey, she passed out, but when it happened to you, all you felt was pain in your eyes from where he jumped from the headset to you," Sylvia mumbled.
"That's right!" Ness nodded, "and that's why I was in pain when he tried to possess me during the Raid."
Sylvia started to shake. She briefly remembered how she felt when she had been posessed: she had been the second. Between Jeremy and Cassey. To think her sister had gone through such pain? After all this? Sylvia found her cheeks drenched in tears; she couldn't stop crying.
"I just made it worse didn't I…" Sylvia heard Ness mumble before her little sister sighed, "well, I guess I'll just have to keep you company untill you go back to sleep."
Sylvia didn't remember when she nodded off, and she didn't remember if she'd had a dream or not. But her back and butt ached from sitting on the floor all night. She panicked for a moment until she saw Ness still sitting beside her, asleep, breathing, and Sylvia only then realised that she was leaning on Ness.
As she pulled herself together and thought about the day ahead, Sylvia thought to herself, "just a few more days in this cursed town, just gotta get through the paperwork and questioning, and we'll all be able to go home."

In "To kill a king"
Gwen's father, Tom, consorting with Tauren.
Tom: (exclaims, after Tauren turned lead into gold with the mage stone) Gold!
Tauren: (smiles evily) Pure priceless gold. Yours, blacksmith, if you keep your mouth shut.
Tom: I don't think that's going to be possible.
Tauren: (confused) What?
Arthur: (Enters with guards suddenly) Seize him!
Tauren: (Tries to scape, but he trips and is quickly surrounded. He turns to Tom, furious) You! You set me a trap!
Arthur: It was me actually. (turns to Tom) Well done, Tom.
Tom: Anytime, sire.
Tauren: (yells while he's taken outside) You'll pay for this! All of you! (is taken away by the guards)
Arthur: Tom, you put yourself at great risk by agreing to participate in this ambush. Your service to the crown won't go unrewarded.
Tom: (bows, grateful) Being of service to you is enough reward for me, sire.
Gwen: (enters, crying) Dad! (goes to hug him)
Tom: Gwen! (hugs her inmediatly) What are you doing here? I told you not to come! It's dangerous!
Gwen: And you expected me to just wait until you came back of your suicidal mission?! If something had happenened to you I couldn't bare it.
Arthur: (smiles, glad he could save Gwen the pain of losing her father) You didn't come alone, did you? (calls out) Merlin!
Merlin: (comes out of his hidden place and goes to Arthur, smiling not at all guilty) Someone had to have your back. (thinking) And make sure Tauren didn't scape.
Arthur: (perfectly knowing it was Merlin who made Tauren trip) As if you could. (calls out again) Lancelot?
Lancelot: (comes out of his hidden place and aproaches too) Someone had to look after them. (pointing at Gwen and Merlin).
Arthur: (sighs again and calls out again) Morgana?
Morgana: (comes out of her hidden place and aproaches too, in anger) You put my friend's father in danger and you expect me not to make sure you didn't get him killed?
Arthur: I know you weren't fond of this plan, but there was no other way to capture Tauren. And look, everything turn out alright.
Morgana: And now Gwen and her father are in the crosshairs of a whole group of renegade sorcerers!
Arthur: The king agreed put guards at their house, they won't be unprotected.
Morgana: They wouldn't need protection if you hadn't involved them in the first place!
Gwen: My lady, (puts a hand on her arm) it's fine. We knew what we were getting into and you know I'm not defenseless. I know how to use a sword.
Morgana: (calms down and smiles at her) You sure do. (turns to Arthur) You better put the best guards at their disposal.
Arthur: They already have one. (turns to Lancelot) Will you protect them?
Lancelot: With my life!
Gwen: (blushes at Lancelot devotion and smiles)
Merlin: Arthur, (gives him the mage stone he just picked up) Tauren dropped this.
Tom: Is what the sorcerer used to turn lead into gold.
Arthur: (serious) They're going to come after this.
Time skip. In the dungeons. Morgana goes to Tauren's cell.
Tauren: The king's ward. (laughs dryly) What brings you here? Do you rejoice in our misery too?
Morgana: (gets close) I don't rejoice in anyone's misery. Even yours, that almost got an innocent man killed.
Tauren: So you're here to lecture me?
Morgana: (gets closer and whispers) Allies can appear in unexpected places (puts a key in his hand). Good luck. (leaves)
Tauren: (very confused, but smirks to himself)
Time skip. Tauren scapes from the dungeons and is running away being followed by knights. Morgana appears dressed in a cape riding a horse, picks him up and they flee together. Once they left the knights behind they make a stop in the woods.
Tauren: (gets off the horse, suspicious) Why are you helping me? Is this a trap?
Morgana: If it was, it would be a very poor one. (gets off the horse too) Look, I'm not delighted to see you either, but I needed to scape from Uther and you're the best option I have.
Tauren: But you're his ward.
Morgana: (raises her voice, suddenly scared) I won't be when he finds out what I am!
Tauren: (realises, surprised) You're a sorceress.
Morgana: (nods, shy and her eyes water) I didn't want too, I didn't choose this! But I keep having these visions in my dreams and hearing voices in my head. I didn't want to believe it but then a made some vase explode with my mind and I... (she trembles and cries) I don't want to be a mosnter! I don't want to die!
Tauren: (puts a hand in her shoulder, gently) Magic is not something you should fear, my dear. Is a gift, you're special. The only monster here is the murderer the calls himself king.
Morgana: (snifs) I know. (sadness turns into fury) For years I've seen him kill thousands of innocents while I could only watch. But I don't want to be useless anymore. I want to fight.
Tauren: (still a little distrustful) How can I be sure you're really on our side?
Morgana: (pulls the magic stone out of her pocket and gives it to him) Do you believe me now?
So Tauren brings morgana to his hidden place with all his followers. She intruduces herself, explains her situation and they accept her. With the king's ward now on their side, now they can plan their next move.
Morgana: I really don't want to come back.
Tauren: It's for the best. It won't be long before Uther sends search parties after you. Don't worry. You won't have to suffer his tirany anymore if everything goes as planned.
Morgana: WHEN averything goes as planned. (she smiles and kisses his cheek) Thank you. For accepting me. (gets on her horse) Goodbye.
Tauren whatches Morgana in awe before going back to his camp. He smiles triunfanly. Tomorrow Uther will finally die.
Time skip. Morgana makes a stop in the woods and meets Arthur, Merlin and group of knights.
Arthur: (greets Morgana) Did they fall for it?
Morgana: (smiling) It was easy as cake.
Flashback
Arthur, Uther and Morgana in a room, planning strategies.
Uther: It's very risky.
Arthur: I know. But it's the only way.
Uther: We could wait for them to attack Tom's place to captured them. If they're really going after the stone-
Arthur: But they won't send all of them. Especially with their leader captured. With this plan we can finally find all of them and kill them once and for all.
Uther: (smiles, proudly) You're right. So, who are you going to assign this important task to?
Arthur: I'm still working on it.
Uther: A servant perhaps?
Arthur: No, Tauren is no fool. He knows a servant can be easily hired or ordered to do stuff. He'll know it's a trap for sure.
Morgana: And if it was someone who is nobelty? Someone that can't be paid or order to do stuff because they're too close to the king? Someone like his ward?
Arthur: (concerned) Morgana...
Morgana: (determined) I can do it.
Uther: Absolutly not. It's dangerous!
Morgana: I know how to fight! If I can convince him that I'm on his side-
Uther: (raises his voice, sternly) No, Morgana. End of discussion.
Morgana: (leaves enraged)
Arthur: (sighs as he watches her leave and turns to his father) I'll talk to her later. Make her see sense.
Uther: Good luck with that.
Time skip. In Morgana's chambers. Morgana is siting on her bed and Arthur knocks the door.
Arthur: (opens the door slightly) Can I come in?
Morgana: As if you have to ask.
Arthur: (enters) He only worries about you, you know? I do too.
Morgana: I'm not helpless. For once I'm trying to help. I'm trying to support his absurd cause and he doesn't let me.
Arthur: (sits next to her) You don't really support him though. You don't support any of this.
Morgana: There's a reason Tauren and his men got to this point. Uther started this by killing all sorcerers indiscriminately. He brought this on himself!
Arthur: I know. I don't share his ideas on sorcerers either.
Morgana: (in disbelief) Really?
Arthur: Yes!
Morgana: And yet you're organising this slaughter.
Arthur: Because these sorcerers did do harm. It doesn't matter that my father wronged them first. They must to be stopped.
Morgana: Because they are evil sorcerers?
Arthur: No, just because they're evil. Nothing more.
Morgana: (softens her expression, a bit hopeful) You really don't believe all sorceres are evil?
Arthur: I did help you save that druid boy, didn't I?
Morgana: But... You never spoke up and always followed Uther's orders blindly.
Arthur: Because I had to, not because I wanted to. And you speak up more than enough for the both of us.
Morgana: Well it would have helped me for you to speak up for me there.
Arthur: I agree that you could easily fool Tauren. It wouldn't be hard for him to believe you don't share the king's ideas despite being the king's ward since that's already true anyways. But I also agree with my father that it's too dangerous for you.
Morgana: Wouldn't it be for anybody?
Arthur: You're the king's ward.
Morgana: So it's only okay to endanger others if they are not nobelty, isn't it?
Arthur: (sighs) You still don't forgive me for using Gwen's father.
Morgana: Will you forgive me easily if I used Merlin for something like that?
Arthur: ...
Morgana: Let me help. You'll be leading the ambush, Uther doesn't have to know I was involved. Please.
Arthur: (sighs longly) I'm going to regret this.
Morgana: Yes! (hugs him) Thank you!
End of flashback
The ambush is a success. Arthur and the knights kill Tauren and all his followers, leaving a pool of blood behind. It helped that the mage stone Morgana gave to Tauren was actually a replica Merlin helped made.
Arthur: (thinking, while looking at the corpses coldly) 285.
Morgana: (horrified at Arthur's display and guilty because despite knowing they were evil, these people were like her and accepted her)...
Merlin: (overwhelmed, but mostly concerned) Arthur?
Arthur: Lets go. (leaves)
Morgana: (to Merlin) Has he always been like this when he... does this kind of missions?
Merlin: (trying to reassure Morgana, but mostly himself) Yeah... It's... it's normal (thinking) But he has never been this numb while killing people before…
And they leave in an uncomfortable silence.

Arrival on Ancient Terra
Warnings: threats of bodily harm, injuries, Chaos Space Marines, Death Guard Astartes, tell me if I need to add more.
Author’s note: Hura’s debut! An Explanation that spawned this AU. Prologue
Summary: Hura muses about what happened to him when he first arrived on Ancient Terra.
Another Author's Note: I Kept Reading it in case there is triggering content that I haven't tagged. Again. Let me know if I need to add anything.

Hura had been on Ancient Terra for several months, he’s done what he can to subtly spread the blessings of Grandfather, while still staying within the rules set by the Alliance between the greater Chapters of Loyalists, Renegade and Chaos Warbands. As an experienced Apothecary, he was allowed within the network of Astartes owned and run Apothecaries, he primarily dealt with his fellow Chaos Marines, especially the more belligerent-to-Loyalist Renegade and Chaos Marines. They won’t allow him near baseline humans that come with their bonded Astartes if possible, which he thinks is a terrible shame. Humans are such wonderful creatures, besides, he’s not the type to be actively cruel, not like the Slaneshi or Khornate type astartes.
He has a great love for his fellow marines and base line humans. He’s humming a song that he’d heard, it’s popular among the base line humans, they have such interesting forms of music. He’s been learning the main human language that is in the geographical area that he landed in when he first came to Ancient Terra. He’d wandered in the lovely swampy area, trying to figure out where he was, before he’d come across a wounded fellow Chaos Marine, under the thick muck he was under, Hura hadn’t been able to discern which legion he’d come from. But he’d softly asked if his younger cousin whished for his help in getting patched up.
The younger Chaos Marine had hissed, puffed, chuffed and growled and did many a snapping, jagged, sharp needle teeth to show just how scary he was. He had been mostly amused and soothed the hurt younger Astartes telling him that his display of Terror was quite impressive, but he can smell the blood, wounds, and rot starting to set in. The other space marine had deflated and allowed him close to patch him up. He didn’t care to remember the threats that the other had issued and spat at him. He had hummed and crooned at his fellow Chaos Marine after he’d snarl and hiss at him, explaining what he was doing before he did it as he patched up the feisty youngster.
He had been almost dragged by the other space marine to his warband. Apothecaries are rare among the Chaos Space Marines, and after an explanation of where and when he is, have become even rarer and more valuable, especially the ones who are not… exorbitant with their prices for their services. Learning of the truce between the greater warbands and the loyalist and renegades had been interesting to learn of, he’d abide by the terms, mostly at least. This whole bonding with a baseline human thing sounded utterly fascinating and he has seen at a distance what Bonded Astartes are like with their Human, the changes in behavior of his fellow Chaos aligned marines is very interesting to document.
Hura is open to bonding with a human, but he’s not actively seeking one out to bond with, he’s kept very busy with Apothecary duties, among other things. He’s on one of his rare days off as he explores the city when he senses something he turns his head slowly, carefully, when he spots them. And feels a pull, the pull, the draw, the lure, the song, the... well, his brothers and cousins all of many different names for the feeling of when they first sense their bonded. He follows the direction of the pull, seeing his human. They are a lovely human, who looks up at him, at first scent seems… worried, or concerned, but as he croons out sweetly, gurgling down at them.
“Hello my bonded,” He croons at them, the bond takes effect, and he sees as they relax and smile as bright as a thousand suns up at him.
They come over and he gently cradles them in his arms and listens to his precious human and walks in the direction that they request of him, learning of where they live, it’s a small apartment, and he eyes the human made and created for steps. He sends a message to his Warband Leader about his bonded nature, and the request for housing for himself and his human that would be suitable for both of them. His human has such a lovely voice that chirps up at him in one of the Ancient Terran languages, he understands more of what they say, when they speak slower, at least. He croons at them, nuzzling them with a deep, warbling purring.

You're Not Me
A little Knucklesverse au with the Shatter Knux quartet. Top bit written by @nights-nonsensical-ramblings, the rest is what came after I got my greedy little hands on it.
~~~~~
Prime stood alone and observed the other hims. There were many here with many differences. All with different lives and personalities, but all Knuckles in some way or another.
But then there were the three dubbed “the Shatter triplets”. They were supposedly created from fragments of him when Sonic shattered the Paradox Prism and created the Shatterverse.
He didn’t want to believe it. Were Gnarly’s paranoia and Dread’s obsession and willingness to double cross whoever got in his way meant to come from him?
Renegade he could handle. That echidna seemed at least reasonable—he fought to protect the weak and push something called the 'Chaos Council' back. From the looks of him it'd been a rough fight, with all the scars and no nonsense attitude. He Prime could deal with. But the other two?
No. Way.
"You're not me," he said, his lip curled. Dread snarled back, and Gnarly flinched. "Neither of you could possibly come from me."
Renegade wandered over, sensing something going down. In his life, he'd been the one who just 'knew' when things were bad. Call it a feeling, or vibe, or hunch. Whatever it was, it always kept him alert for danger and trouble on the way.
And right now, it was twitching like crazy.
Dread moved slightly in front of Gnarly, who looked like he was trying to disappear into the floor. The pirate's snarl changed into a sneer, then a smirk.
"And why, pray tell, do ye think that?" he asked, his voice dripping with a barely contained contempt.
Prime rolled his eyes, before crossing his arm and clicking his tongue. "Seriously? You're a pirate. Pirates by nature, are selfish, violent, and focused on only one thing—their treasure. I'm nothing like that."
The smirk on Dread's lips widened, and he began to chuckle. "Oh, Prime, me boy. Ye be so blind."
That made the other echidna scowl. "You know nothing about me, pirate."
"Don't I?"
Prime moved closer, his fist curled tight. "No. You don't."
Renegade slid between the two. "Guys, c'mon. This ain't gonna solve nothing."
Dread ignored him, sidestepping to come nose-to-nose with Prime.
"Tell me, Prime. What be that big beautiful gem ye guard ever-so-faithfully?"
Prime's lips pulled tight before his muzzle curled in a sneer. "The Master Emerald is nothing like whatever cheap treasure you're after. And you will not get it."
The pirate rolled his eyes. "The Master Emerald be all of ours, genius. In some way or ‘nother, it be the thing that binds us all together. Stealing it never crossed me mind."
"Guarding the Master Emerald is not the same," Prime said, both his fists curled tight now. "It is a duty I choose to fulfill. Not some obsession with money or gold or status or whatever makes you do what you do."
"Oh, yer choice, was it?" Dread said, his lips now curled into a mean smile. He leaned back, planting his hands on his hips. "Well now. Here I thought it be something ye were born into. And I be under the impression ye, and many of the others, can't choose to leave it. Like ye're a prisoner to it. That don't sound like much of a choice to me."
Prime growled, the sound deep and rough in his throat.
"Shut your mouth. You don't know what you're talking about."
The smile on Dread's face grew, and his eyes narrowed. "I think I do. I think I be the part of ye that yearns for freedom. The part that wants to make yer own choices, go where the wind takes ye, and not be tied to some island. The part that wants to be known, to be seen, to have adventures and see places ye can't from high up on that island of yers."
Dread leaned closer, his voice dropping to a soft whisper.
"I be the part of ye that holds yer deepest, most secret want. To be yer own person. To live yer own life, out of that gem’s shadow."
The punch came so fast, and so hard, Dread flew across the room. Stars erupted in his vision, and he shook his head to clear it. Blinking quickly, he looked up, and found Prime stalking toward him, his face full of rage. Renegade jogged forward and positioned himself between the two.
"Alright, you got your hit," he said, dropping into a battle stance. "Walk it off. He ain't worth it."
Dread chuckled as he got back to his feet.
"No, no," he said, that coy grin working its way across his lips again. Oh, he was going to enjoy this. "Let the lad come. ‘Tis time we had it out, him and me." He balled his hands into fists, shaking off the last of the light-headedness from Prime's blow. "He wants to claim I'm not him and he's not me? Then we'll see which of us be stronger."
Dread moved with a speed Prime wasn't expecting, and the slightly shorter echidna attacked with precision and force. Prime barely had time to block the pirate's blows, before returning in kind.
"You're NOT like me!" he yelled, taking a swing at Dread's face. "You're selfish! Cowardly! Cruel!"
Each statement was punctuated by a swing, which Dread neatly avoided or blocked. The pirate was laughing.
"And ye're not?" he cried back, returning each blow of Prime's with one of his own. "Ye would let yer friends suffer if it meant keepin' that rock o' yers safe. Ye would stay on that island of yers and let 'em fight without ye, all for yer 'duty'. Ye care more for a rock than anything or anyone else! At least I have the decency and courage to admit it!"
Dread landed a good hit on Prime's cheek, sending the echidna stumbling back.
"I be the part of ye that shows how hypocritical ye are. Ye think ye're so noble and good. But ye'd sacrifice every one of yer friends to keep that rock o' yers safe."
Prime didn't respond. He breathed hard, rubbing his sore cheek with the back of a hand. He sneered, uttering a loud grunt before turning away.
"I'm not . . . I wouldn't . . ."
He couldn't bring himself to deny what the pirate had said. Because Dread was right. Everything was about keeping the Master Emerald safe. Yes, he cared about his friends, but the Emerald was above all else. It had to be. It was too powerful, too dangerous to let fall into the wrong hands. That's just the way things were.
And he hated that Dread had seen that so easily.
Dread sighed, giving his back a stretch. He didn't want to fight, ironically enough. But Prime wouldn't have seen things any other way.
"F’r what it's worth," he said, moving closer to his counterpart. "I don't think ye're a bad person. I understand that Emerald be dangerous. Guarding it takes guts, and focus, and a dedication I don't have. Ye're to be commended for sacrificing yer own wants and needs to keep it safe. Really."
Renegade blinked, giving Dread a look of pure shock. The pirate rolled his eyes, flicking his urban twin a look of annoyance.
"Yes, I can be reasonable and compliment someone, try not to pass out." The pirate turned back to Prime, crossing his arms before him. "I'll make a deal with ye, lad. Ye try to see me for who I be, and I'll tell ye of all me adventures. Ye can live vicariously through me. And maybe ye can teach me some of that sense of duty stuff. Maybe I could use a little o’ that focus in me life, too."
Prime seemed to consider this for a moment. Finally he nodded, extending his hand to his pirate double. "Fine. Deal."
Dread met Prime's hand with his own, and they pumped their hands in a firm shake.
"’Tis a deal, then."
I know, I know, I know, I’m mid-AU right now BUT WHAT IF
Aladdin-style AU; Miles as the somewhat sheltered prince of a struggling kingdom, who’s never been outside the castle walls because it’s dangerous beyond them. He sneaks out one night, determined to prove that he can handle himself, and runs into Hobie and his gang of “vigilantes”. He spends the night with them, several nights actually, until Hobie gets caught trying to save a kid stealing from a cart from one of the patrolling guards.
Not knowing what else to do, Miles finally reveals himself as the prince and orders them to let Hobie go. They’re both taken back to the castle, Miles as the lost-prince-finally-found and Hobie as the long-sought-after-and-finally-captured-leader-of-a-“terrorist group” who’s been blamed for kidnapping the prince.
Hobie’s thrown in a cell while Miles is reunited with his family, and meets Olivia Octavius, who tells him about a magic cave she needs him to go into. Hobie doesn’t want to agree, but he also doesn’t particularly care for dying either, which he figures is gonna happen for “kidnapping the prince.”
GUYS. Hobie deciding to be a prince solely so that he can get close enough to talk to Miles about the kingdom, seeing as he’s the next in line and can begin implementing changes for the better in the kingdom now. Miles falling for Hobie-the-prince while still thinking about Hobie-the-renegade-leader he “inadvertently caused the death of” (according to his parents’ advisor Wilson). THE REVEAL.
Pavitr as Miles’s best friend, who is just as sheltered as Miles and is insanely jealous of his leaving the castle for a bit. Gwen as Hobie’s right hand, who’s running the group since he’s gone and is trying to force him to admit the truth to Miles before he’s caught and killed for real this time.
God, I COULD WRITE THIS. I WANNA SO BAD…
Can I know more about Killer, Horror, Dust, Cross, and Blue relationship like how they became part of the gang and any personality changes?
answering this will either take two posts or a read more bc i do NOT do things by halves.
*Edit; I’ve chosen the read more option. Y’all get the backstories in a later post.
I “recently” went over a bit about Killer here. So for now, I'll go over Dust, Horror, Cross and Blue.
Horror: gentle giant. He just wants to feel included. Due to his head injury, he struggles with frequent memory loss and speaking verbally. He uses a notebook to keep himself on track, but his most successful plans are usually thought of and executed on the fly. He's really reliable in a pinch. Has good instincts. Out of the group, he's the most likely to be underestimated by outsiders. His love language is cooking for others but he's not picky about what he eats himself. Hates loud high-pitched noises. (screaming specifically.)
Dust: quiet brooding guy. Outwardly he seems to be the most laidback and apathetic of the group. In reality, he’s restless and moody. The most likely of the group to wander off spontaneously with no purpose in mind. Doesn’t talk much but he knows his way around chemistry. A competent engineer. Makes his own fireworks. Hard to say whether he's introverted or not but if he wants to be left alone you won't' find him, and if he wants company he will tail you like a shadow. more talkative in a group setting, strangely enough.
Blue: enthusiastic, boisterous, and incredibly earnest. He wears his whole heart on his sleeve. He doesn't believe in committing theft, crime in general, or even trespassing. He's actually a little scared of trespassing. secretly, he thinks criminals are brave (but stupid) for trespassing. Can’t lie to save his life. Not that the skill matters much when he lives with two empaths. Cross: introverted, defensive, reluctant to let down his guard, and enough of a workaholic to challenge Rem for his title. Cross needs a structured routine to function. He takes his duties very seriously and generally goes about things as if he has something to prove. (He doesn’t but he hasn’t realized that yet.) -On the Group Dynamic- Dust and Killer get along well. Most of the time. They have a lot of things in common. How they met the Apple twins. The tragic circumstances of their respective AUs. The fact Blue reminds them of Papyrus… do not bring up Papyrus or the Human, on this note. They’ve gotten into bitter violent confrontations over what happened with their brother. Don’t push it. Horror is good friends with Blue, actually. Blue is conscientious of Horror’s intolerance for loud noises and makes an effort to use his indoor voice in his company. Horror tolerates Blue’s erm… creative meal ideas in turn. And they mutually bond over their shared interest in food prep, wordplay, TV Drama, and baking competitions. (Molt, Horror and Blue set aside a date/time to watch the latest episodes when they air. (Cross sometimes joins them as long as they don’t make a big deal over it.) Molt can’t see the screen ofc, but he’s able to experience the show through how Horror and Blue react to it, the occasional narration from both of them, and ofc, the verbal drama of it all.)
Blue’s relationship with the rest of the group is complicated. He knows he’s the odd one out because he is ideologically opposed to Rem’s methods. At the same time, he begrudgingly accepts that sometimes for the greater good, you have to make sacrifices. (He doesn’t like it and is always looking for a better option anyway.) He sticks around out of loyalty to his friend and because he firmly believes the group needs a firm but kind hand. He knows they’ve all been hurt in some way. And if no one else will look out for this group of renegade thieves and scoundrels, he will!
Cross tries his hardest to get along with exactly no one because he wants to keep everyone at arm’s length but ironically this has the opposite effect. Killer treats him like a surrogate little brother. Dust simply doesn’t give a shit as long as Cross is a team player. Horror fusses over him. He has an open invitation to join Blue's workout routine whenever. Rem trusts him. And worst of all, he wants to spill his guts out to Molt whenever something even remotely happens, and that can only mean he feels safe here. And that is terrifying to Cross. He has a home now and that is the worst thing that’s ever happened to him.
HP Rec Fest, Day 8
Today’s prompt for @hprecfest was also a bit of a challenge on the Drarry side. I guess canon rewrites are the most popular type of “canon divergence”, as in Hogwarts fics retelling the books with the boys being sorted into different Houses or becoming friends early on. I don’t read those often so I thought why not go for a Voldemort Wins AU instead? I’m very much intrigued by this trope and would love to read more of it. I was tempted to scream once again about Frayach’s brilliant The Good Guys but I’ve already recced it in the past so here are two hidden gems that could use more love!
Day 8) A canon-divergence fic:
Drarry
We Are Legend by @vaysh11 (E, 38k)
Eighty years into the future, Voldemort won. Harry Potter is a renegade wizard, Portkeying Muggles out of London to Hogwarts, last sanctuary in a Britain ruled by the Dark Lord. On a mission he encounters a powerful phoenix Animagus fighting on the Death Eaters' side. He recognises Draco Malfoy whom he thought long dead. But the differences between them are perhaps even greater than before.
I found this gem thanks to @romaine2424 who insisted I should take a look and she was so so right because this fic is unlike anything I’ve read before. I’m beyond impressed by the vivid, grim dystopian world building combining moments of tension and loneliness. Draco’s character and fate are devastating but despite all the grief and heartbreak this fic is still tender and moving, so full of yearning and hope. This is one of those stories that catch you off guard as you go on but feels fresh and creative every time you revisit, something about pre-2010 works just hits differently!
Rare pair
Pigment by @wynnefic (Harry/Sirius, T, 5.7k)
Sirius makes a promise to Harry during the war. Three years later, he keeps his word.
As soon as I saw the prompt I knew I’d go for this fic. Whether in a romantic or platonic relationship, Harry & Sirius hit a particularly bittersweet spot for me because I so wanted them to have had more time with each other. I love to bury myself in canon divergence but while most of them are angsty and tense or just downright smutty, this shortfic became one of my fave comfort reads. Their dynamic is soft and healing, full of tender intimacy and sweet domestic bliss. Like the Drarry fic I mentioned above, this has a very sensitive combination of grief and hope and patient longing that makes their reunion so emotionally satisfying.
In the Main Primarch au, is Jaune a loyalist or traitor?
Confused what’s the actual canon version.
I honestly haven't settled on it, original ending had him go renegade and die, so here are the old notes copy and pasted from the document for the original ending.
"Jaune and about 80% of his legion die on Remnant along with most of Remnant population. Once the heresy was finished, the Great Scouring commenced immediately and a great forced was mustered against Remnant due to how Jaune set about the defenses. Jaune had already started the planet wide evacuation of Remnant, recalling all Remnant Citizens off world home to evacuate. By the time the evacuation was well underway, the fleets of the Ultramarines, Space wolves and White Scars attacked but were meant with the Remnant Fleet. Unfortunately the fight spilled down onto Remnant, with a planet wide assault. Jaune, his legion, and Remnant Guard held back the assault as best as they could as the evacuation continued. Jaune ordered aspirants, young marines, a handful of Dreadnoughts to escape on the Juniper. They were the Legions future now.
Only about a 1/3 of the population was able to escape, his friends, and Pyrrha along with their children escaped on the Juniper and other ships jump into deep space with their recently created Light drives, which while slower than warp travel, is much safer. They vanished to places which not even the Imperium would find them again.
Jaune would be killed by Leman Russ, but his death would then activate a weapon on Remnant that gases the whole planet with an immesnly powerful viral weapon. The remaining population, his remaining marines died and any Loyalists unable to get off world died. The entire planet consumed by the deadly fog that made it impossible for anyone to land on, from space marines to even the adeptus mechanicus, all would perish save for the ecosystem itself. Nature would retake Remnant. For 10,000 years, the Imperium would Station a chapter of Astartes to watch the "dead" world, as if waiting for something."
This idea basically opened up a sequel story with Remnant Knights returning during the great rift, taking back their Ancestral homeworld. However it wasn't a good return, the remaining Remnant Population would revere Jaune as a god over the course of generations, a twisted version of truly happened becoming their religious canon. Due to the loss of the dreadnoughts overtime, much of the Legion history was lost and what was saved just became a war like doctrine for their "god". The Sons of Jaune are treated as literally Demi-gods of war who lead the armies and fleets in a holy crusade to avenge their "god" and ancestors. They basically just became the Imperium 2.0? Or word bearers? Idk all I know is that what she was going for I guess.
I'm kinda exploring this with "The fall of Remnant" art pieces but not the whole Religious crusade for revenge type deal. Remnant Knights would come back but only to retake their homeworld and that's it, stay away from the wider galaxy as a whole.
As Fragile as a brick wall
Masterlist||First||Previous||Next
hey hey it's me kinda sorta back from my social media pause. kinda because I'm still likely to be very quiet for a while.
Ch 5: Zhongli attempts to locate his renegade princess to ask a question.
Ganyu wins a bet.
Zhongli x Afab (fem pronoun) Reader
little death/gore in this one? just a wee bit.
NSFW elements in later chapters
Multi-chapter, Royal AU, angst, mentions of death, eventual fluff, eventual smut, idk more tags when they happen ig? (Wonderful header image made by the wonderful @ainescribe)
Tumblr media
Zhongli was a king, he had won the throne by strategy and wit. His new people adored him, his allied kingdoms were warm and welcoming to the changes he had brought about.
So why?
Why was an unassuming wooden door simply too much for him?
All he had to do was knock, and yet every time he turned down the hallway towards her room he just… froze.
Princes he could capture.
Kings? He could kill those, take their place, and overhaul their battered kingdoms.
The princess however, was a hurdle he could not jump, no matter how many attempts he made.
Obviously he needed to speak with her.
He needed to clear the air, talk plainly.
(perhaps apologise for attempting such an underhanded tactic as forcing her to marry him? Yeah, definitely.)
It takes him three more days, of deliberating and debating with just his own mind, of Xiao’s confused stare, and Ganyu’s tired, but knowing smile before he finally relents and marches to her room.
The lack of guards at the door should have been the first hint, but Zhongli is so focused on doing this one thing that he does not notice.
“Princess?” He calls as he knocks “I need to speak with you.”
There is no answer, as expected, she was still ignoring him.
He knocks again.
“Do you intend to hole up in here forever?” He asks, still no response.
Now, surely she was making a fool of him.
“I’ve given you plenty of warning.” He sighs, gripping the door handle “I’m coming in-”
Oh, well no wonder she wasn’t answering.
She wasn't even here.
Zhongli blinks, staring around the room, in a way it was good to see some things never changed. While the decoration of her chambers had grown and matured with her, he could still see small touches of…her, about the room. Worn down and damaged from time under tyranny, but still distinctly what he remembered.
The glaze lilies, in a vase he remembers her mother once owning, sit beside the open window, swaying softly in the breeze, and his heart squeezes just a little…they had always been his favorite.
“M’lord.” Ganyu’s quiet call very nearly makes him jump, turning to find her standing in the doorway. “Her highness has a tendency to leave quite early in the mornings, and not return until nearly dusk.” she informs him.
“And why, pray tell, has it taken you this long to inform me of this?” He asks, shooting her a less-than-impressed look, only to have her smile knowingly.
“To be honest with you, it was a bet between us attendants, to see how long it would take until you finally worked up the nerve to enter her room….so thank you for making me slightly richer.” She giggles, turning and vanishing down the hall to let her king stew in his flustered state.
But now a new question floats to the forefront of his mind.
Where exactly was she going?
“Oh princess, you really don’t have to-”
“It’s quite alright, Siqin. Your horse has taken Ill, Azhdaha is more than capable of towing the plough, even at his age.” You’re quick to wave off the farmer's concern “Isn't that right, old boy?”
Beside you, your dutiful horse snorts, ears pricking forward as if offended that the farmer was insinuating he was unable to perform a task. Siqin gnaws his lip for a moment before sighing.
“Very well, your highness.”
“Oh, please there’s no need to call me that. Technically I’m no longer a princess-” you attempt to reason with him, but are quickly shot down by Granny Chu, shooting you a venomous look.
“Nonsense!” She shouts “Just because your father no longer rules does not mean this kingdom no longer recognizes you as royalty, dear.” she huffs as she turns her gaze to Siqin, the man scrambling to attach the plough to your horse. “Besides, you have more than earned the title in the village’s eyes.” She continues “you come out here every day to help with the smallest of things.”
“Your horse falling Ill isn’t small, Granny.” You retort, taking a seat beside her to help husk the most recent harvest of corn, your hands far slower, softer and less skilled than the elder, but something to do, anything to help is what put your mind at ease. “Azhdaha, be good for him, or no sugar cube tonight.” You warn the stallion; watching his ears pin back in frustration before he finally hauls off, a very frightened Siqin saddled on his back. “If you can’t plough the fields, you can’t sow the crop, without the crop there will be no harvest.”
“Oh I’m sure we would have figured something out.” Granny Chu mutters, a fond shine in her eyes as she leans over, gently grasping your hands and physically helping you through the motions “Like that..”
“Thank you.” you mumble, getting the right technique down after a few more tries, keeping a watchful eye on your temperamental steed as he effortlessly trots along the field, tilling the soil. “Do you know of anyone else who may need assistance?”
“Hmm, I do believe Miss Bai would appreciate you paying a visit to the schoolhouse.” She muses “A visit from the princess would definitely spark the children’s interest.” “Not a princess anymore-”
“Hush.”
You both fall silent for a moment before an unmistakable giggle slips from your lips, only to be followed by granny chu’s own snicker. Soon enough you’re both laughing, and you find yourself at peace.
In all your years, it had been doing things like this that had brought you the most joy, helping your people and seeing them grow, watching their happiness bloom. This is what you wanted.
After a rather interesting story time with the local school children (in which they all demanded stories from other kingdom’s you’d visited), a commotion outside pulls everyone’s attention.
Unfortunately what you find outside only makes your smile drop.
Zhongli, slowly walking down the path, soft, warm smile on his face.
What’s worse? The moment he sees you, it only seems to widen, and now you had nowhere to hide, delightful.
At least until a devious idea floats to the surface.
Zhongli had always had a soft spot for children…and you just happened to have a small army of them gathered around you.
“Well, would you look at that.” You lilt in a sing-song tone, one you knew would get the children excited. “The king himself has some to see you all as well! What a lucky day it is~”
A dozen pairs of eyes look up at you and then to the approaching king, hope and excitement abound. Jackpot.
“I know you all must have so many questions for the new king, don’t you?”
All at once, the children scramble, bolting away from you and crowding around his feet instead. At first, Zhongli blinks in shock, his gaze quickly flitting to you, but then back down to the children and- goddamn it.
You had somewhat hoped that this new diversion would at least annoy the man a little, but the warm smile and soft look is back. How dare he have the gall to look so…content. Oh well, at least it gave you a few moments to scamper away; surely Siqin would be done with Azhdaha by now.
Siqin is more than happy to hand the reins of your ornery stallion back to you, fields freshly tilled and ready to be planted, and you waste no time making yourself scarce. The less you had to see of him and his stupid smile and handsome face and pretty eyes, the better. Azhdaha, usually a steed of routine, doesn’t even question when you don’t head back towards the castle immediately, instead making for somewhere quiet to be with your thoughts.
A small grove of sunsettia trees upon a hill seemed like a nice enough place. You can’t help but giggle as you note the carvings upon the wood; seems this is where the youths of the village used to come here with their sweethearts to carve their names into the tree trunks, how novel.
A nicker and a nudge by an impatient horse snout pulls you from your thoughts, Azhdaha looking up into the branches and stomping a hoof, ah, of course. A hard day’s work deserved a few treats. A swift climb up and soon you find yourself situated comfortably upon a branch, reaching up to pluck fresh, ripened fruit from above to feed them to your demanding horse below, occasionally biting into one yourself as you look out over the small hamlet.
Since your little…intervention, the village had really come together…listening to your suggestions and helping one another. You would never admit to anyone but…god you’d been so afraid that the idea would fail…you’d never had the chance to do anything when it came to guiding the kingdom and even then, it was only because Zhongli was flailing that you even had the nerve to intercept…but looking at all the once broken down, dilapidated houses and buildings slowly, but surely being restored, people helping instead of fighting, things could not have possibly gone any better.
Minutes slowly meld together as you simply enjoy being… doing nothing in particular. Azhdaha, now having had his fill takes a rare opportunity to roll in the grass. Old and noble he may be, but even your old, grizzled warhorse still had his moments.
The view from atop the hill truly was lovely. If you’d had a knack for painting, you’d almost consider coming up here to paint the village as it is now, and then perhaps returning the next winter to paint it again, just to see how things had changed.
And you also wonder what the view was like from the top of the tree...Glancing up, the branches looked sturdy enough…
By the time Azhdaha notices your ascent, you’re already halfway up, a soft laugh bubbling in your  chest. This reminded you of childhood, when your mother used to take you out to the orchards proper and you got to run and play amongst the trees, chase, hide and seek, simply picking and snacking on whatever fruit you could reach… fond memories indeed.
Finally, your head emerges from the foliage and oh- you were right about the view being even more gorgeous from up here. At this vantage, you could just see over the tops of the cobbled rooves of the bakery and the smithy and out into the rolling farmland behind, the slowly waning sun bathing the fields rich golds and oranges, a kind of warmth you’d not seen in your own kingdom in years.
You’re so mesmerised by the sight that you don't hear the call of your name, or even the crow cawing nearby, until the winged creature swoops just that little bit too close, startling and causing you to jolt, fingers unable to grasp the trunk in time as the sudden movement snaps the thin branch you’d been standing upon; and then you’re falling and you silently curse yourself.
Dead via sunsettia tree, what a headline that would make.
But a shout, a strong pair of arms and a warm, firm chest meet you before the ground does, and another body goes tumbling down the hill a ways with you, cushioning your fall and likely saving you from much worse damage as you both come to a stop at the bottom of the hill, Azhdaha trotting after you.
“Are you alright?” A familiar voice asks, you look up to meet the gaze of your rescuer and find none other than those damningly beautiful eyes.
Zhongli.
His hand gently comes up to caress your cheek with his thumb, fingers softly brushing hair from your face as the panic in his gaze slowly fades, not seeing any immediate injuries.
“Are you alright?” he asks again, calmer this time, and you nod, still trying to find your voice.
“I- um…y-yes, I’m fine.” you finally manage to choke out, internally chiding yourself for such a weak response, even more so when you realise your leaning into his hand, which has simply come to rest cupping your cheek in a way that was much too tender for your liking.
Only then do you truly realise your…compromising position, both laid out on the ground with you sprawled across the kings chest like some…harlot.
He has the gall to chuckle when you gasp and quickly sit up, shifting off and away from him and back to your horse, who’s massive nose is quick to sniff at your hair and clothes to ensure you were actually alright. Some of your muscles protest, your leg and torso especially, having hit a branch on the way down, you can feel the bruise already blooming across the back of your thigh and the dull ache just above your hip, but that was nothing you couldn’t handle.
“What…what are you doing here?” you finally manage to ask as Zhongli sits up, smiling…always smiling at you, you hated it. “Well…” he hums “I had initially come to speak to you in your chambers…only to discover you absent…so I thought I might take a walk in the village to see how the plan you’d made to prepare for the winter had been faring-”
“I mean-” you interject with a frustrated sigh “why are you here?” you reiterate. If there was one thing you remember about Zhongli being somewhat prolific for back in his days as a knight, it was constantly over-explaining.
“Oh! Well, I was hoping you would join me for dinner tonight…” he states as plainly as a commoner would state their name, the casual nature of it all leaving you blinking and caught entirely off guard, something the king at least seems to take into account.
“I…went to the garden.” he slowly admits, rising to stand “I…saw the statue…I feel like there is much I need to explain to you…about why I left and why I have done the things I have… allow me that…and then if you still wish to have nothing to do with me…well…we’ll sort something out.”
“What do you mean by that, exactly?” you retort, narrowing your eyes at him “‘sort something out?’”
“Simple really…it’s unfair on you to have to continue skulking and slinking about the castle…so if my explanation is not to your tastes…whatever you need to live happily…I will provide…but we can speak more on it later…perhaps at dinner, no?” and that smile is back as he turns, looking over his shoulder at you for a moment longer before he departs “I’ve already asked the kitchens to prepare a few old favourites… but know I won’t hold it against you if you do not attend.”
And then like that, he simply continues on his way, like he hadn’t likely just saved your life. You stare after his retreating frame for a long while, long enough that eventually, Azhdaha begins lipping at your ear and pulling your attention back from whatever dimension it had faded off to.
You shouldn’t.
But you had to know.
Why he’d left, what he’d been doing, why he’d come back, why he had attempted to leverage your hand…questions that burned too brightly to simply be extinguished, no matter how hard you tried.
With a sigh,you finally mount your horse once more, wincing in pain as you settle into the saddle. Usually, before returning to the palace, you would take Azhdaha on a good, hearty gallop, get him good and lathered up before returning to the stables for the eve, but even your crotchety old steed can sense your body is simply not up for it today. He had always been gentle with you, but today even more than usual as he walks you back to the castle.
Seems you had a dinner to attend.
Some GoBots doodles (Transformers Rivalry stuff)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This started as a late April Fools' joke but I was too busy with other stuff to properly post them. I didn't plan to integrate them into the lore initially, but I figured out a way to put them into the series.
In this Transformers AU, the GoBots are meant to be this AU's version of the Nebulans. Due to excessive climate changes on Planet Nebulos, those on Camp Gobotron decided to build mechanical exoskeletons in the form of GoBots to survive in harsh weather after reverse engineering scraps of Cybertronian corpse debris that landed on their planet. Those in power and free were known as the Guardians, while those under the influence of the Decepticons back on Cybertron were known as the Renegades.
However, a familiar trio from each side managed to make their way to Earth and had their own adventures, all the while running into the Autobots and Decepticons from time to time.
GUARDIANS:
Leader One: The kind and noble head honcho of Camp Gobotron, a base on Nebulos.
Turbo: A macho brawler with a no-nonsense attitude
Scooter: The youngest and smallest of the team
RENEGADES:
Cy-Kill: A Gobot follower of Megatron, whom he idolizes, in which his plans carry out to vary degrees of success
Cop-Tur: A skilled security guard yet doesn't has the brightest ideas in the lot.
Crasher: Racer and earth sports enthusiast, fitted with EMP Boots that can allow her to cause destruction
Vanessa Diego [FNAF AR, Renegade AU]
Tumblr media
Published: Apr 07 2024
CK animatronic maintenance and R&D Robotics contract with Faz Ent has ended, but their stories are far from over.
Vanessa Diego used to work for Silver Parasol until she left in 2018 after the HW incident stole away the face of one of her friends, an eye from another friend, the sanity of her sister, and more harrowingly enough, partial control over her own body.
She told her friends that it was for thier own safety, and it really was: she didn't want to put them in danger by keeping the thing that had harmed them so much so close by, as she knew that whatever - or whoever - it was that had posessed her in such an unconventional way wanted her friends dead for their 'failure to properly harbour him'.
She started a new job somewhere else, that place being CK animatronic maintenance, but the she went on a camping trip a few days before, but got stranded by a storm when she tried to head back to the car park, so she kept her camp up and intended to just hold out, but she heard someone nearby fall and scream, so she found them - a man about her age, all on his own, and in really bad shape with a twisted ankle and some cuts from the undergrowth - and brought him back to her camp to patch him up. After he woke up and they had a small conversation, she realised that this was Luis: one of the guys who runs the maintenance firm she was due to start working for tomorrow.
She found her and Luis's first meeting to be cute, but wasn't sure why he never brought it up. Maybe he just didn't remember.
Though, she did get along with him very well, and him with her, so she started going out for coffee with him! She doesn't know what he calls it, but she calls it a date!
Though her new job wasn't all fun and games with William sitting in the back of her mind and all. Some days, William would force her to have the day off her normal job at CK animatronic maintenance to do her 'Faz Ent work', as William put it, because she had to go to abandoned Faz Ent HQs in order to have a 'propper meeting' with William on the man's own turf, and on one of these excursions where Luis had tagged along, William had tried to kill him, but with quick thinking, she did what she had to do to keep Luis alive: by 'attacking' him herself, only causing enough superficial wounds with two hits of a bat to trick William into thinking that she actually meant it, when in reality, it was the only way she could have kept Luis alive.
Later down the line, whilst she was working on some chip sorting work as a part of the contract that Faz Ent had made with CK animatronic maintenance, a virus got into the computer systems, and it wasn't William: he was already where he needed to be. It was Adelaide. With both Aftons in the systems, things started to go horribly wrong, and after getting a nasty shock from the servers when she was helping Luis clean them up, more things statred going wrong: Faz Ent seemed to be trying to kill them.
The Adelaide incident was the culmination of everything that had gone wrong so far. Ness just counted herself lucky that she hadn't been there for it.
Several days after that incident, William had made Ness ill in order to strand her at home and used her weakened state to effectively hold her hostage in her own apartment, only letting Ness leave the apartment to pick up deliveries from CK animatronic maintenance's office. He did this so she could use the V_A account to extract Adelaide, who had gone into hiding in the systems due to R&D robotics catching onto her next plan too quickly and leave the pure computer virus behind. Though going to the office to pick up deliveries was how Ness was saved: William went to pick up a delivery, and Anna and Raha were able to jump her, scaring William for long enough for Ness to take back over.
It was confirmed once again: she was posessed by William. Everyone knew that William Afton had been manipulating her somehow, and even though they had confirmed that he was possessing her several times, this just confirmed their worst suspicions: he had never left her head and knew everything.
Every time they had thought that Ness was safe to speak or even think, William had always been there. Leeching off of her body and mind. Playing along.
Ness then moved in with Luis for three reasons. 1: she could no longer bear her apartment. 2: safety in numbers and not wanting to live alone. 3: she loved him.
Somehow, aside from William occasionally taking over and the occasional mandatory visit to an old Faz Ent HQ, their lives were somewhat normal; Ness had been able to avoid killing anyone so far, and she seemed to have William under control. Ness and Luis had even gotten engaged. Everything seemed OK.
Until the late autumn of 2021. The worst month and a half of their lives.
It started when William finally took over Ness and spirited her away to the megaplex across the other side of the country: she had been kidnapped by a ghost. Then, he forced her to kill. But she always did everything she could to stall: she has plenty of wounds from attacking herself to buy William's victims more time. A month after she was initially kidnapped, Luis had finally been able to track her down: Faz Ent had many HQs, and they could be rotating her through any number of them to make it harder for the police to find her, but it was pretty clear to see where they had been holding her: she'd been at the megaplex the whole time. The police (mostly just Mike, Danielle, and Carl with the weight of the world on thier shoulders) couldn't get a warrant as there was not enough evidence even though they knew, and her sister was in a risky situation of mutual blackmail against Bill Blake, but despite the flow of information being slow and risky, Luis had found her using what little he had to go off of. Sylvia had also fed Luis what she knew about what needed to be done to save Ness.
And on the night Luis played the second arcade and was primed to play the third, William almost made her kill Luis. Twice.
She and Luis had been fortunate enough for Luis to survive both times, but it still terrified her how close to the wire it had been for her to wretch back enough control to give Luis a shot at defeating her in the east arcade early in the night, and how much begging it took for William to allow her to heal him after PQ3 didn't let him in.
Fortunately, less than a week later, a child named Gregory found Luis's notes on the arcades, and that combined with Sylvia beating the other arcades that had kept PQ3 locked, Sylvia and Gregory wound up in a mutually oblivious tango that ended with Gregory able to play PQ3, unaware that Sylvia was nearby and that it was her presence that let him in whilst Sylvia was terrified that the kid would take the coward's path and set the staffbots on her sister. But Gregory chose to save her and succeeded.
Gregory and Ness had mutual knowledge of eachother beforehand: Ness knew of the Clone 46 experiments, and Gregory knew of the original Patient 46. So it was no surprise that Ness had adopted this orphan who had been forced to live through her trauma.
A week later, Mike, Danielle, and Carl had managed to secure enough evidence to get the warrant they needed to raid the megaplex: a raid they'd been planning since Ness went missing. Whilst it went rather well on the evidence front, Ness, Sylvia, Gregory, Cassie, and Mike faced one life threatening situation after another. Though they seemed to be the ONLY group with such bad luck. Come six AM, those who wanted to face off against William stayed to descend into the deepest heart of the megaplex whilst everyone else evacuated. Of course Ness was amongst those who stayed.
The deepest heart of the megaplex was underneath Roxy Raceway. That is where Adelaide kidnapped Luis, used her control technology to turn him into a killing machine, and then sent him to attack them. Ness managed to take the feral assassin down and remove the control module, but she felt herself getting posessed, and that's when they met Gaz's deceased father who helped Ness thwart William's attempts. Then once the C location guards plus Gaz dispatched Daniel Discord, their former manager from their Freddy's days, Ness was finally able to confront William in a battle that took more of a psychic form, using the ghosts within to force the remnant William was using to rebuild his body to bend to the will of the people and force William to burn himself alive. Whilst Adelaide extracted William before it got too risky, the Burntrap body was now no longer viable, setting back William's plans.
After that, Ness thought it was over, but Faz Ent wouldn't let Ness go that easy. They sent Cheryl M., Todd C., and  Charles Ramirez to kidnap her, and unfortunately, they succeeded and brought her back to the megaplex. Those three seemed to be trying to figure something out, and that something involved them cutting her skin open from sternum to stomach, but she was able to use the blood as a tripping hazard to slip away and hide in west Arcade where she found Freddy's head next to an arcade machine that was playing a short clip of Cheryl's ambush on Sylvia and Gregory.
Sylvia and Gregory had mobilised to save her, but also wound up getting ambushed and kidnapped by Cheryl, and it's a clip from that ambush that Ness had saw on the screens, but it didn't set the duo back and they quickly found a Ness who wasn't sure if she was alive or dead. When they were about to escape, Cheryl, Todd, and Charles Ramirez ambushed them and the trio wound up kidnapped and separated. Ness wound up stuck with Todd in the Fazerblast control room, but was quickly able to knock Todd out before he could continue with whatever faux-medical analysis he was trying to perform on her. She then met up with Sylvia, who seemed to have one of Adelaide's control modules on her chest courtesy of Charles Ramirez, but she also seemed to not be swayed by it. The sisters then saved Gregory, who had been forced into running a deduction by Cheryl. Gregory said something about Cassie dying trying to save him, so when the trio were about to escape for real, Sylvia stayed behind after detonating the remote demolition explosives she had been leaving about the megaplex (she'd gotten a gig at Stan's budget demolitions, the company the courts hired to demolish the megaplex, so Sylvia was only doing her job here), whilst Ness and Gregory used Sylvia's car to get to the hospital.
The next time Ness saw Sylvia was about 40 hours later, and Sylvia was with an unconscious but alive Cassie.
During Ness's hospital stay (she needed so much treatment not just for the wounds inflicted by the exec trio, but those she had sustained whilst under William's control too), William attempted to possess her, but to Ness's surprise, he was contained and suppressed: the ghost of her own dad, who had gone missing when she was very young, was possessing her, and had been since the end of the Raid.
Once everyone was finally able to go home, the nightmare wasn't entirely over. Ness beat herself up over it all until the ghosts of the victims William had killed whilst using her as a vessel told her in no uncertain terms that they knew that she was posessed and had done everything she could have and more to try and prevent their deaths; they'd all seen her stab herself to buy them more time to run, but in the end, the animatronics got most of them.
She was fortunately able to internalise this, and it helped her make one of the most important decisions of her life: when presented with the possibility of a literal human prison being used to contain William Afton - he'd escaped from Scraptrap, his own undead body, before so trapping a robotic body of his in a regular prison would achieve worse than nothing - Ness jumped at the chance to permanently keep William contained and out of the hands of Faz Ent. Nobody was exactly surprised.
When the day came, Ness, Sylvia, Cassey, the samurai ghost known as OMC, and Cassie all worked together to lure William into a VR game that Faz Ent used to train it's megaplex staff and trap him in a fourth Princess Quest game that Sylvia, Cassey, and Ness had put into the game. Cassie was able to lure William to where Ness was waiting, where she essentially consumed him, the Vanny avatar crushing him in her hands, Ness absorbing his ghost and trapping it deep within.
Thanks to a pair of control bracers (bracers designed for those posessed by violent ghosts to be able to keep the ghost from taking over thier bodies) and the constant effort of herself and her dad's ghost, Ness is able to live normally amongst the public and is happy with her role as the Warden.
She is able to live with Luis, and now Gregory too, and live the normal life she'd always hoped for.
Title: Creature Comforts Pairing: Clu x Dyson Summary: Dyson, having been shaken by events in Argon, seeks comfort from his Luminary. Notes: Takes place at the end of, and immediately following the events of Scars pt. 2. Slightly AU. Rating: F for general fluff     Clu hears the doors to his throne room open and he knows from the footsteps alone who it is. “I have returned from Argon with a message from an Old Friend. I saw him with my own eyes.” Clu looks over his shoulder at Dyson, whose head is bowed out of respect. But the Luminary hears the wavering in that voice he knows otherwise to be so confident.     “Tron…Lives.” Clu has had suspicions based on the reports he got from Argon. But at the same time, Clu knew this…Renegade was not Tron. “Interesting… Who else knows about this?” Clu hears the disc being drawn and the single Sentry being derezzed.
 “Nobody…only us.” And there is so much emotion on that last syllable that it compels Clu into action. He turns and holds his arms open, “Come here, Dyson.” And then Dyson moves to close the distance, trusting himself to those arms which fold about him.     “Good. Let’s keep it that way.” Clu almost purrs as he rests his cheek against Dyson’s head. No one else but them need know that their Old Friend still lived to resist them. Especially since it was more than likely said Friend would be joining them all too soon.     “Sir?” Clu lifts his head to look the Guard in the eye. Dyson’s hands travel up Clu’s arms to his shoulders. Gloved fingers line in red cradle the Luminary’s face and then Clu is not quite prepared for the sensation of a mouth pressed against his own. But he adjusts accordingly to return the gesture.     Their lips part just enough to maintain closeness but to allow them use of their mouths. “If I may be so bold as to request some downtime? Given…recent events, I need some time to myself.” “I understand, Dyson, but you know where to find me should you need the presence of another.” Clu replies as his gloved fingers brush over one particular side of the Black Guard’s face.     “He was…so different then what I remember, Clu. One of his eyes looked dead from scarring but…there was such…anger in them. Directed at me.” And Dyson moved his hands from Clu’s face. The Liberator raised an eyebrow before pressing a small, light kiss to Dyson’s forehead. “He’ll come around eventually. Take all the time you need.”
    “Thank you, sir.” And Dyson makes no move to pull away once the request has been approved and Clu makes no move to make him.
@kit-williams, @whorety-k-k Did it work this time?
You had been informed by your doctor that you had cerebral aneurysm and that where it was placed in the brain that it was inoperable. At least with human medicines and technology, there were rumors that the Mer-people, the Space Marines, which swam through waters, space, and the air, that had arrived one day long ago in various iterations of ‘loyalist’, ‘renegade’ and ‘chaos’ variants that they might be able to help with the situation. There were folk tales that, for a price, humans could become immortal. But, that was just rumors and myths, you doubted that it was actually true.
You are at the beach, having decided to take a short vacation from work and normal life when you’d finally found out what was wrong with the headaches that you’d been getting. You were not within the normal age range for getting a Cerebral Aneurysm. Mostly it was older people who got aneurysms, or people that did a lot of illegal drugs, or where hit in the head really hard, either once or repeatedly. It’s also, sometimes thought to be genetic. So, that had been a long, painful conversation with your family. To warn them, just in case the genetic factors of blood were partially responsible.
Finding out from your mother that your dad- the dad that you had known all your life was your step-father, not your actual father had been both a surprise and not a surprise. He’d always favored your younger sibling over you. You had thought it was because your younger sibling was more similar, in looks and personality to your dad, but now you wonder if it’s because he knew that you were not his child, but some interloper’s child. Someone that your mom had once loved, but had left because he was not a suitable partner. Part of you wondered what that random stranger with a genetic tie was you like, your mom had told you that you reminder her of him, sometimes.
You wonder if that’s a good thing or not, but mostly your dad that you know is the dad that you love and view as. Who cares about some random stranger that your mom left because he was a manipulative unstable bastard. Or at least that is what you’d heard your grandmother hiss sometimes. How He had once threatened both your mom and your grandmother while she had been pregnant with kidnapping your mother and making sure that she’d, and you, you suppose, would never see your grandmother ever gain. You’d heard, that had your grandmother explode with rage and then drag your mother away from him and insist that she live with your grandmother until she could get on your feet again.
It was… odd. You felt upset, yet numb and wondered if you might have half siblings out in the world that you don’t know about. But as you watch the waves wash on the sandy beach and walk in the sand with bare feet scrunching your toes in the sand and humming to yourself. The stupid brain grape is in a relatively stable position, but it could kill you at any moment, yet you could potentially live a long healthy life. It sucks, and you blink tears from your eyes, you don’t want to die, and while there are treatments for brain grapes, they are very expensive, and you aren’t the best candidate for surgery.
You have a weak heart. The doctors had said, that was something you had long known about. Having benign heart murmurs, four, one in each valve, you’d often joke with your younger siblings and family that you have a sieve of a heart. Also, it caused issues with dizziness and funky heart rate, also, whenever someone heard your heart beat, they’d get a disturbed look on their face, or be Alarmed at your resting heart rate being so low, despite having such a squishy body type. Most of the time it was funny, and you’d tell them why your heartbeat was funky. Perhaps it was a little mean to play such a prank on medical professionals?
Besides, some of the times you’d warn them beforehand and they’d give you a look of ‘your full of shit’ and then listen to your heart and realize you weren’t full of it. You looked out at the ocean and walked in a bit, having the waves lap at your feet and up to your ankles. The water was cold, but it was nice for this warm, hot day as the sun beat down overhead. You sigh and rub your face, you’d come to the beach to try to distract you from your woes, not have your thoughts betray you with the shit hand you’d been dealt with. There were other people who had it much worse than you, so really, you were lucky that you weren’t worse off.
You blink when you feel, more than see at first a large shadow block out the sun, you lift your head and look around and see a massive mer-space marine swim to you. You step back, he’s a massive fellow, with the mutations that set him as a Chaos Marine, whatever that was, mostly you’d heard that they tended to be more aggressive. You step back and out of the water, but are stopped by the large Space Marine, who croons at you, tilting his massive head as he peers down at you, reaching out towards you. You back off more, he was a large, strange sentient being you’d never met before, you often didn’t like strangers touching you, finding the contact like barbed wire pricking your skin, and sand paper scrubbing at you, making you feel like your skin was going to bleed, and yet nothing of the sort was actually happening.
“Hey, big fella,” You say cautiously eyeing the massive mer-marine. He has massive spines all over his frame, and he has dark green and grey spots along his tail.
Your brain twinges a little at the sense of something is wrong. The massive creature croons at you again and you get distracted, you make the mistake of looking into where his eyes should be and a wave a calm comes over you and your defensive posture relaxes as the mer-marine croons at you again as you get into the water and head over to him. Your brain has gone fuzzy, why had you been so scared before? He just wants to say hello. You notice that you were also near one of the caves that was partially submerged with ocean water during high tide. Perhaps you had gotten too close to where he’d been resting? You grab a seashell that you’d picked up from the beach, it was a mostly intact sand dollar and offered it to him.
“Sorry for disturbing your rest buddy,” You say and the mer-marine tilts his head as he looks at the offered sand dollar.
The only whole sand dollars were found in the gimmicky tourist traps that suckered the non-locals into buying such overpriced things. However, the mer-marine carefully reached out a clawed hand and you gently placed it in his palm. He gently curled his claws around the sand dollar and brought it up to his face to look at. You carefully back away and out of the water, heading back up the beach. Perhaps, you should go back to your hotel room, or something.
A few hours later you are trying to wash your legs, you have developed welts along your feet and legs where the ocean’s water had touched you. They were itchy as hell, and you were trying to google to see what you could to do help resolve the issue without going to the doctor’s office. They were super itchy, and they weren’t bug bites, great, you’d developed hives from being in the water. You head to the store to get some over the counter allergy meds, making sure to wear a face mask as you had started to develop a wicked cough. Ugh, of course you started to get sick while on vacation, just your luck.
Forceful Intervention AU - Supporting Cast
The Masterpost for the Forceful Intervention Verse got ridiculously long and reached the character limit, so I opted with making a post for the supporting character cast instead of stressing over trying to make everything fit into one singular post.
Without further ado, meet the cast of OCs!
---
Lissa Colo'Ba - A natborn officer who served with the GAR while under the command of Jedi General Chora Tuteru and the 209th Battalion (aka Avis Squadron). Known simply as Dove (a nickname given to her by the troopers of the 209th), this mysterious pilot has a past that links her both to the Jedi and Mandalorians alike, in more ways than just her service record. Like the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover.
Maeleen Eppa - The renegade daughter of two very corrupt senators, Mae was reluctantly conscripted into the GAR after finding herself in hot waters with both her parents and the Republic (after accidentally stumbling into Separatist space while trying to run away from her home planet of Poluzitania). Spending the majority of the war serving under the 104th as an engineer and mechanic, her loyalty towards both Jedi Master Plo Koon and the 104th became the driving force for her rebellion against the Empire.
Zed Kwinde - A strong Force Empath that was raised as a Guardian of the Whills for the Kyber Temple of Jedha. He grew disillusioned due to feeling powerless in the face of war, as he could sense the misery and pain of others but was not allowed to interfere as that was not his battle to face. Unwilling to sit around idly, Zed fled the temple and completely reinvented himself, becoming somewhat of an expert in cybernetic enhancements, slicing and marksmanship. While he comes off as snarky and selfish, his intentions are often much purer than they seem.
The Golden Ladybug Crew - One of many brothels in Coruscant's red light districts that has allied itself to the Coruscant Guard, due to having formed a mutual respect for each other's street-savvy survival skills. The Golden Ladybug is not only open to clone troopers who have nowhere else to go, but also often provides supplies and information to the Guard in exchange for protection from the shadier folks who threaten the Madam's business and affairs.
The 105th/Petrichor Company - The veteran troopers of Krell's defunct Battalion, who could not be relegated to other Jedi due to their distrust of Force Users. Having initially worked with the 501st to try to rehabilitate them, several incidents involving in-fighting and excessive violence ended up forcing the Jedi to leave them under the Coruscant Guard's jurisdiction, in the hopes that some community service might help them get along better with "outsiders". The 105th was then assigned to work with the Golden Ladybug, who through sheer commitment and infinite patience, managed to rehabilitate the traumatized troopers.
Scully & Erin - An unlikely duo of a Changeling with connections in the Coruscant Underbelly, and an AgriCorps Jedi Ruurian. Scully and Erin both have ties with clones that (despite the horrors of Order 66) have clearly not been sullied or forgotten, as they are always willing to lend a hand to whomever most needs it. Even while on the run. The two travel with ex-501st Trooper Nax (known to them as Hobbs) who they rescued from Daiyu.
Metronome Squad - A batch of clone troopers divided among four battalions who maintained close contact throughout the war. They were ultimately separated by the tragedy of Order 66, but later managed to reunite with each other (those who were left anyway). The group consists of Rhythm (Communications Officer of the CG), Pitch (Clone Medic of the 501st), Beat (ARC Trooper of the 104th) and Tacet (ARF Trooper of the 212th).
Guard Remnant - A group of surviving Coruscant Guard troopers with faulty inhibitor chips, that managed to flee the heart of the Empire after Order 66 went out. Comprised primarily of riot troopers and unofficially lead by Slick, the Guard Remnant has made of the town of Bakkskrash their home and keep the settlement protected with the help of Dogma and Rhythm (whom both accidentally became the sole law enforcement for the entire town).
Sponge Clan - A tight-knit family unit comprised of ex-501st clone medic Sponge, their partner Hugo Espin, their adopted clone children, hybrid clone child Molly, Pitch of Metronome Squad (who at the time was having issues reconciling with Rhythm, thus had nowhere else to go), scuba trooper Penguin, heavy gunner Lichtenberg (who was considered MIA on Umbara but managed to survive by the skin of his teeth) and several pets (the most notorious being Beautiful, Sponge's barghest companion and most trusted friend). They are not immediately allied to any of the many Mando clans whom seem to have taken an interest in them, instead focusing on the Guard Remnant and the town of Bakkskrash.
AI Troopers - AI copies of Fives and Tup that were created from brain-scans that were done prior to their deaths. It's unknown who exactly created these AI copies, or what reason they had to do so, but the experiment seems to connect to one of Palpatine's various Immortality projects.
The Lost Children of Mandalore - Several Mandalorian clans that reside in Epifania, after their ancestors settled there while on the run from the Mandalorian Wars. While the clans sometimes don't see eye to eye, they are united in their affinity for the clone troopers who have sought shelter on their quaint little planet.
The Golden Pye-Dogs - A band of pirates that have allied themselves to the Guard Remnant and the Sheriff of Bakkskrash. While most don't understand why these scheming scoundrels would willingly work with law enforcement of any kind, one can't ignore the fact they seem to have an adopted clone child as the factor behind this particular choice.
The 13th Sister - Once an AgriCorps Jedi and dear friend to Erin, Kera Brookii willingly became an Inquisitor in the pursuit of power. Having grown disillusioned with the Jedi Order's seemingly "unfair" training policies, Kera felt like her potential was wasted and sought revenge on those who she assumed looked down on her. Cruel and manipulative, she is suspicious of Zed's activities as a mercenary for the Empire, being sure of him being a double agent. None of the other Inquisitors believe her however, as they consider her traitorous by nature and far too power hungry to ally themselves with willingly.
Sulu Ra, the Mad Cloner of Kamino - A microbiology specialist on Kamino. He was adept at perfectly replicating microorganisms that comprise the majority of a being's internal and external body flora, thus helping their products to live outside of lab conditions, making Sulu Ra's work an important part of the cloning process. However, due to his morbid curiosity of natural mutations and hybridization, interest in bio-weaponry, and natural dislike of wasting resources, the once highly sought out microbiologist became a nuisance that actively tampered with the cloning process to indulge in his own sick and twisted experiments. His list of victims includes Tup and Dogma, Olly's entire batch, two entire battalion's worth of rookies, and many more beings that they themselves created from scratch.
Aoife - A mysterious young lady with seemingly omniscient knowledge of the world around her. No one knows where exactly she came from, but Aoife seems to have good intentions regardless of her strange nature. She saved Hardcase from a fate she herself says was impossible for him to have been relegated to because it just "didn't make sense in the story".
The Rascal Gang - A group of kids who's parents were either a part of the rebellion or who were clones. Mismatched in all sorts of ways, this oddball group seems to have ended up on the Colossus, and are on the lookout for something. What exactly that something is, remains unknown (but likely has to do with the Resistance).
BACKSTORY
DISCLAIMER: my AU is built up differently, TRON: Uprising plays AFTER TRON: Legacy, plus they find Kevin in 1997, not 2010!
Ruby is an Isomorphic Algorithm that was created by two other ISOs. Together with her parents and her younger brother Fixt they would try to go to Argon City and try to continue living their lives in peace yet as programs saw them as enemies it wasn’t easy, until one day an angry mob tried to harm them in which they succeeded, derezzing Ruby‘s parents, being able to flee from the scene yet losing sight of her brother.
Over the cycles, Ruby would be taken in by a sympathetic program and gain some experience with fighting, until her guardian was derezzed when black guards discovered that they were hiding an ISO, ending up on killing the killers of her protector. From that day on, the young ISO despised Tron for not protecting them properly on that day and Clu for slaughtering her species as they were seen as an imperfection, swearing to avenge her parents and her ISO friends.
Ruby would occasionally go onto General Tesler‘s ship and try to challenge his guards and himself, which started off as a fun thing but ended up on being a true cat and mouse game, being wanted for basically being a nuisance, especially when Dyson arrived in Argon City, annoying the highest ranked soldier to the point where Ruby would start to have some kind of love-hate relationship with him as his anger intrigued her.
Eventually Ruby was sent to the games after being successful caught, yet winning after facing off several black guards and the Empress herself, which led to a repurposing process to make her being part of Clu‘s army…
PERSONALITY
Ruby mainly is a person driven by vengeance which can make her quite reckless and make her do decisions which aren’t that wise, but other than that she truly cares about the people that she likes, especially her brother although at the beginning of their reunion they weren’t really happy to see each other.
Headcanons. Happy ones.
Alyss has mastered one meal: mushroom pasties. The meal always awaits Will’s return.
Will once crept up on Alyss to surprise her, but instead of an appreciative kiss, he (accidentally) received a rightly placed hit and a well-coordinated kick.
Duncan’s favourite times are when he has breakfast with Cassandra. On mornings where his daughter sleeps in, he’ll only have a small bite, so that he doesn’t ruin his appetite for when she finally wakes up and gets breakfast.
A few years below the Redmont wards, there’s a young girl. Arald and Sandra almost literally adopted her and she ends up following in their steps as Redmont’s Baroness.
One year, the Rangers threw Crowley a surprise birthday party. It was actually Halt’s idea, but he let the other Renegade Rangers carry it out and take all the credit.
Every country he travels to, Will makes sure to learn one local folksong.
Alyss’ favourite thing in the world are fireflies.
Maddie and Horace love baking in the castle’s kitchen at night.
In a modern AU, Will would ask Halt to officially adopt him.
Halt’s favourite sound is that of Pauline laughing out loud. She rarely does, so he cherishes each time.
On a particularly good day, a long long time ago, Jenny and Alyss made themselves and the three other wards grass bracelets. None of them know that the other four still have it.
Alyss once lied to George to get him to a certain place, to which Will sneaked and caught him off-guard, so that Horace could pick him up and carry him to another room, where Jenny forcefed him cake. It was George’s birthday, and his friends would be damned to let him spend it alone, again.
George got to travel to Nihon-Ja once more. There was no civil war this time and he got to enjoy his full time there.
Cassandra used to do Maddie’s hair each morning when she was younger. It was their little routine. Occassionally, Maddie will still let her mother brush and braid her hair.
