the deadalive era is so good because it’s just scully having lived her literal entire worst nightmare. feeling more like a failure (a disappointment) than she ever has. she’s failing as a mother (is her child safe even inside her body? where’s his father?). she’s failing as a partner (she can’t be him, she can’t find him, she’s “just not capable”). she’s failing as the war widow she was bred to be (her mother could’ve done it). she’s alone and she’s planning a funeral and decorating a nursery at the same time and she’s praying, and praying, and praying. and then mulder’s suicidal ass resurrects from the dead just mad as hell

me when i remember that for mary there is no long term end goal and instead she will just cycle back and forth between different levels anger, numb isolation and total commitment to murder-s.uicide without someone to drag her out of this endless loop

you've probably said this before but why are rebreather masks a necessity?
overbundance of oxygen in the atmosphere!
the Iterators aren't the first ecological catastrophe caused by the Ancients in the Serotonin Take
putting the rebreather masks off for a little bit is fine, taking a few breaths as well. one can eat a sandwich just fine if you're quick enough. it helps that the Ancients can kinda like.. close their noses and instead breath thru their gills even while on land, but they don't do such good job of supplying the body with air on land like they do in water so there's still need for the breathing thru nose stuff
after 10 mins of normal unfiltered breathing the problems start to arise in the form of involuntary twitches of the body (mainly lips and fingers), they can get a lil nauseous and some vertigo
the symptoms get worse the longer they go without filtered air of course. it all culminates in terrible bodily twitches, severe spasmodic vomitting, being dazed/confused and fainting. it ultimately, of course, ends in death in the form of the lungs (and brain) failing to cope
if saved before death, the individual will now suffer seizures, pain in chest, difficult time breathing or internally damaged eyes (such as the retina detaching itself from the back of the eye. fun fact, that's what i have! i'm blind as fuck in that eye, but that's also the fault of following attempts at treatment and cataract to rub salt into the wound)

Actually one more thing about Sun & Star -
“But can a being made of light survive in the darkest part of the world?”
So like. Is this a metaphorical thing or is Will actually made of light now? Is that a decision we’re making? Cause I am FASCINATED by the implications of that. Also, Tartarus itself isn’t the darkest part of the world, Nyx’s Palace is. Though there was some indication that Nico may have gone there in his first venture to Tartarus, which is Very Interesting because if they return there then you have a literal Son of the Sun venturing into The Literal Realm Of Night and i can only imagine that’ll be a fascinating scenario.

When Kingsley thinks of the Savalirwood now, I wonder what memory comes back first.
Running into the woods chasing after his siblings, the playful adventure and freedom. The look of rage on his father's face after. Lucien tending to his older brother, taking care of him, treating his wounds as the older boy chokes back tears--
Lucien walking the path to a little cottage in the woods, a list of names in his hand. Luring whatever criminals and murderers his parents chose back to a monster, heart aching all the while. Willing himself not to see the parade of faces the witch had stolen, refusing to ever let himself become another Empty puppet--
Lucien preparing to perform the ritual, drinking and celebrating with his merry crew. The moment when he realizes something's gone terribly wrong, eyes wide open, lying dead in a field of wildflowers—
Buried alive, clawing out of a shallow grave, desperate for air. Reaching up to the comforting light of Catha, to the flare of Ruidus bleeding red. Walking the world again for the first time in the longest time, his heart aching and Empty. But alive, alive. Following the sound of a lovely song--
Waking in the flowers, in the sun, surrounded by all his loved ones. Having just had the nicest dream, so very loved and treasured, he feels like royalty. Feels like he's finally home--
