Todays Tarot card was the Five of Cups reversed. This card is a great reminder to move on with what you have. Life is in a constant forward movement (for the most part at least) and you aren't going to keep every thing, relationship, even mindset that you've always had. When you lose something, whether it's a thing, relationship, or your mindset changing try not to look at it from a pessimistic point of view. Day 3 of @lionharts July tarot challenge! Today's challenge was to finally flip the cards that were drawn yesterday in relation to the goals made for this month. . Goal 1, Save Money: 🗡 Nine of Swords, upright. Welp, I already knew this one wouldn't be easy, but it's so like this deck to not pull any punches. So I definitely shouldn't try to stick to this goal too strictly or it looks like it's gonna cause me nothing but stress. I just need to worry about paying the important things, the saving can come later when I have things more settled. . Goal 2, Spend Time With Family. 🕯 The Hermit, upright. He says that I don't have to push myself to do certain things, even when I feel I have to, which honestly is like my main character flaw, always overextending myself. He says "chill, hang out sometimes, but you don't have to feel like a bad daughter and sister for taking a day to yourself every now and again. Your family understands and will be there for you when you do want to hang out, you shouldn't feel guilty for not going over every day off you have." Thank you Hermit, you always get me. . Goal 3, Deepen my Connection with my Cards and Intuition: ❤ The Lovers, reversed. A reminder not to focus so solely on things that I neglect other important areas of my life. Sometimes what starts out as a fun activity can turn into an obsession, causing strife between the obsessor and their loved ones, and in this case I could also overwork my cards, which is awful, because they're my precious partners. . Jumper! ☀ The Sun jumped out while I was shuffling, so I put it aside to see what it wanted to tell me when i finally flipped the cards. The Sun reminds me to have fun and not stress too hard, both with my goals and with life in general. Good morning spread! With the Hanged Man reversed perhaps you've been losing sight of yourself, maybe someone has come into your life or has been in your life and they're manipulative, the main point of this card is you are losing you. Then we have the Emperor you have ambition and authority and you feel it within yourself. You know you can be in control again, you know that you are aware of who you are and you like that person and you will get yourself back, and it ends with the Three of Cups. Celebration is the key word here, celebration of health of mind and body, it's a happy atmosphere. In my mind you've found yourself again and thats a cause for a lot of celebration. Brief what is it: Inspired by Mulan and 47 Ronin, this lush book set in feudal Japan follows Mariko as she infiltrates the elusive and dangerous Black Clan disguised as a boy, to find out who is conspiring to kill her. What she finds out is not what she expects…

My thoughts in a tidbit:

Hands down, I completely fell in love with this book. From the very first page, I was swept into this rich, emotive and vibrant world with flawed and wonderful characters, lush landscapes, and with a splash of mythology.

This book is stunningly written - Renee Ahdieh captured each character’s vulnerabilities and strengths, quirks and emotions, and their loyalty. At the moment I’m riding a book super high, and I just can’t fault it! As a big mythology fan, I loved the way Renee weaved that into this sensual and brutal story. I also lost count of how many times my stomach swoon flipped - Okami and Mariko are two beautiful characters that I had major emotional swells for - and their chemistry and gradual relationship build was just a joy to read. Can I also add again, that Mariko was such an amazing character. Not only does she kick serious behind, but she is a wonderfully curious, strong-willed and fiercely intelligent character - and I was instantly immersed in her journey.

I CANNOT wait for the next book, I can feel myself already getting antsy to find out what happens - and in the meantime, I absolutely want to read this book again!
