Bro ken Words,
Spoke n Words
blankets blanket, buried feelings
rogue emotions - running rampant
on the rampage - out of control
seeking solace; we turn to words
silent weapons of monster expression
without an outlet; when might
personal dynamite explode;
a once dormant volcano erupting
sending thick plumes into the atmosphere
syllables of lava in despair
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
pain, a crimson dagger
we'd rather restrain
crippling feelings
fearing their serrated edge
we dampen our anger
smite our tears
anesthetize healing
by numbing emotional stains
we consume and then
starve, never feeding
our deepest hunger
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
hope falls asunder
lives plunder
unless spiritual strains -
get expressed
mountains will tumble
high-peak lives will . . .
plunge into the sea
held under water -
by forces that be
controlling attempts to . . .
mold feelings of self-contempt
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
unless we seize their fervor
bending crooked hurts
into vibrant words,
whittled down to withstand
magma fueled tension
spouted - shouted out
solidified as spoken word poetry
collaboration of mind with heart
making hardships pliable -
connections viable
renewal of faith,
undeniable

We have been having discussions about how children, and folks of all ages, and stages of life, need outlets to express how they feel, how their situations and experiences, influence their perspectives, thoughts, feelings, ideas and beliefs.
What's better than escape through reading stories about others and writing our own stories, posing questions, poking boundaries, provoking innovating thinking, through both our broken words and spoken words of poetic introspection and reflection of simply living our unique stories.
We appreciate all of you, who read and engage with our continued collaborations. You inspire ✨️
Cheers,
Chris & Diane

I just published my poetry zine!
I put together this poetry zine in 3 months for my typography class. This magazine is a 25 double-sided pdf with a unique typographical design, including 11 English collab poems, 3 English poems and 21 German poems with 23 matching black & white photos. You can buy it for the low price of one small coffee on KoFi (3€) and there is a "pay what you want" function if you want to support my creative work!
Dive into the diffuse waters of poetry and search for the hidden meaning behind the words. I write about the little moments that make life worth living; not important events, not grand gestures, but everyday things. By writing about them, I give them value. The writing process is characterized by the fear of the blank sheet of paper, which has to be overcome without giving in to the urge to fill up the page. Diffuse poetry therefore describes the concept of having the courage to leave gaps and to deal with them openly. Not naming things clearly, but capturing the underlying thoughts and feelings. In contrast to concrete poetry, which is based on a clear statement and always has a message to convey. Have the courage to read between the lines and think about what you read, because words only have the meaning that we have given them. Poems are just condensed language, and always leave a certain amount of room for personal interpretation. I hope you enjoy reading between the lines!
Tag list: Never miss a poem or a short story I write! Comment + if you want to be added or - to be removed from my tag list.

Are you involved with Rhapsodyinblue80? I see your initials in her tags and was just curious. She is a most wonderful writer.
Hello anon,
Um nope, I'm not involved with rhapsodyinblue80, and then those are not my initials, they are just a pseudonym I'm using to sign-off my writings. However, without doubt, she's definitely an amazing writer. =)

When I was little, my father would grow discouraged by my actions, so he would shame me by ignoring me for days. As a pleaser, I found these punishments emotionally paralyzing. I wasn't certain what I had actually done, but I felt the darkness of his abandonment. Afterwards, when his light would slowly return, I'd vow to do anything to keep its warmth draped around my shoulders.
Much later, I would replace him for you with your brilliant sun. I thought I'd go blind, so unaccustomed was I to being loved generously. Then, like him, you grew cold, upset by misunderstandings, unwilling to be consoled. You blotted out the sky with anger and stole your heart from me. The pain bruised my words, a child again trapped beneath a frozen lake of pain.
And we wonder why love is such a blissful burden, why we are too inept to carry its fragility in such unsophisticated hands. Instead we are chafed and scored with remembrances that everything we most desire is just beyond the reach of our own healing,

Note
If you create a unique phrase (such as poetryreruns) and advertise it on your blog so people can use it as a tag, you can do a search for #poetryreruns to display those posts. But this can get to be quite a chore. I know because I helped establish Poetry Portal with Rhapsodyinblue80 about 5 years ago.
I use to do poetrysavedfromoobscurity. I understand the suggestion but am not sure I want to commit. I'm old. Almost died over Christmas from a pulmonary embolism. Neurological trouble coming soon on my horizon. People intermittently tag the full blog name thinking I will see it, some times I do. Almost walked away from this blog a few times since Christmas but other than rehab I don't really have much to do.
🙁

This year has been a rough and challenging year to say the least, but amidst all the negativity there have been some glimmers of hope and positivity. This platform was created as a safe haven for all poets and writers to come, connect and of course to see that no one is truly alone during these trying times. As this year comes to a close, I want to take the time to thank and appreciate those who helped me see this vision all the way through. WUTI and it’s members have brought to life a weekly escape through what we call "Poetic Therapy".
Tonight we will leave behind 2020 and soon welcome in 2021. Stay tuned in because WUTI has a lot more to come in 2021......

Swallow's Song
She grows yellow roses
vines and gardens of happiness
lives perpetually in bloom
blossoms that grow
thanks to both sun and rain,
love and pain
shape and shade
each petal - to every
flowering rose.
______
Each fragrant bouquet,
a diary she keeps
inked in golden and gloom,
cherished parchment
watered with faithful fingers
mind gardening her history
between sharp thorns
destiny carved
into nature's fortune
dewy bud
as yet, a mystery.
______
She admires perfect-
lily-of-the-valley, absolute
purity of burgeoning youth
transformation of beauty
discretion of innocence
ringing of those - pretty
delicate, little belles
attractive sensations
of spring - come
each May, that very
first day, he
glanced her way.
______
Betrothed within branches
scriptures embedded
in verdant leaves
their seeds sprouted
the following spring
as cloud and sky
day succumbed to night
(parents' delight)
bud to blossom born.
______
On an especially, sultry
morn - when her soft,
sweet, pink Rose
finally arrived -
in the nick of time
a tiny miracle
baby crying - new
mother sighing
looking in her eyes
she saw - her
father's smile
something magnificent
simply sublime.
______
Each year tenderly
woven, briar within beauty,
careworn hands
dedicated, weary -
sage eyes now carry
scrolls imparted to words
nourished in memories
garden grown
such blessings bestowed
upon her floral narrative
suspended in hopeful clasps
pages pressed as swallow's
song foreshadows dusk.
______
Mothers, whether human or momma birds, intuitively and innately remain connected to their offspring, beautiful babies, from conception and on, forever and ever. Mothers care, nurture, protect, and love their children, unconditionally. Mothers run and rule, and make all of our lives better for their unselfish dedication, compassion and sacrifices.
Cheers to moms of all kinds! Mothers are master gardeners!

Golden tears
I claw out my skin, hoping they would scratch my eyes Crying golden tears, they scald my hands and melt my flesh. Lost with saudade, I don't go home still, for it's only a figment, like the tip of a cigarette.
If it weren’t for that fateful kiss, I could have escaped the abyss. A true heart made of gold; Devoid of emotion, under my fingers turning cold.
If I can't see again, it would be better. Rather than have a filtered fantasy, I would hear the truth from you, and feel your intent.
When the leaves turned golden, Everything led up to this event. The gods have failed what they promised to protect: A blossoming love, now doomed with neglect.
Written in collaboration with my talented fellow poet Elda @betweenthetimeandsound (her words in cursive) Tag list under the cut. Never miss a poem or a short story I write! Comment + if you want to be added or - to be removed from my tag list.

Morning
Early morning, mist hugging close
To the choppy waves that rocked
The boat. I sat in a womb of white
Lulled by the waves and the darkness.
Then the sun rose slowly,
Thin gold rays searching for me,
Looking to gild my silence, to wake
Me from my melancholy. And, as the
Sun rose, it brushed the white stone domes,
The red brick peeling walls, the dozing crouching
Lions, played tag with mosaics in dust lit churches, gleamed
Over windows. And Venice breathed softly
And stirred upwards from the sea, waking
To the morning.

cinnamon sand clings to my toes
as seafoam's sweet silk spreads
a dimpled cloak
churning coquina
shards
upon the coastline
thunder spurs
rebellion
CRASH
we huddle beneath the canvas
with an adversarial grin
untIl
thunder burns heaven's dome
the irrefutable red flag flown
beach day
surrendered
we dash-
panting flushedwithheat
cold rain slashing our t-shirts
the squish of flip flops
dashing a c r o s s A-1-A
frantically
hair coils into thick serpents
down
my
back
body chilled with the weight
of soaked towels
I slam into safety's door
laughing eyes,
shamrock colored
rain stabbing my back
a pause to exclaim,
Damn,
can we do that
again?

I have witnessed mountains rise,
heroes fall,
and the might of men bend
to lady fair.
I've witnessed death
as he did try to knock,
but could not breach the lair.
I've witnessed pains,
and loss,
and heartache,
more than anyone should share,
but with each a strength,
a triumph,
a neverceasing care.
Soothed with water built of words,
these battle softened desires.
Like roots creeping round the temple
of a long lost empire,
so we grip unfathomable dreams
as the oracle whispers fire.
A gift for @rhapsodyinblue45 /@rhapsodyinblue80 for the secret gift exchange. A poem about living in the time of an epic. (Surprise I am the anon).
