So about today's issue of X-Men Red #16 and my boy Richie.
When I woke up today and read Ewing's newsletter for today's comics and came on to the following highlighted sentence
Tumblr media
I worried about Beto, or one of the SWORD team members or even the Arakko mutants. Storm never came to mind because she's the most important character in this title and if she were to die this title would end. Rich I didn't even worry about because it never even crossed my mind that Ewing would refer to him as an X-Man.
And then this happened.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Commence me internally screaming.
I am not upset because this is such a Richard Rider thing to do. This is a man who struggles with finding his place in the universe and doesn't feel at home anywhere. The moment he joins Storm in Arakko it's meant to be a temporary thing (he's still a Guardian at that point) but he fights for the planet throughout Uranos' attack and because of it the Arakkii recognize him as one of their own.
Tumblr media
After the events of the current GotG run and the Proscenium being destroyed, Arakko becomes Richard Rider's home. So now more than ever he's determined to do everything to defend his home and his people. Storm is also not just one of the most important people in Arakko but she's one of the leaders of Arakko. Not to mention Rich joined her Brotherhood and is serving under her in the war against Genesis while commanding the flying Arakkii in battle. She placed her trust in him and he in return has great trust in her.
OFC he would take an arrow for her, even before Arakko he held nothing but respect for the X-Men and he would've still followed Ororo into battle and sacrificed himself for her.
Also Rich is not dead (despite people already saying RIP and getting mad at Ewing for killing him) he's infected by Pestilence's plague and in extreme pain, possibly dying, but he's not dead.
Look Al Ewing is not going to kill Richard that way especially after taking the character with him from Guardians to an X-title, and not after stating that the purpose for Rich being in X-men Red was because of the Genesis war.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I highly doubt Ewing took him there just to kill him.
Now pay close attention at what Death told Storm about Pestilence's plague
Tumblr media
The plague kills by pain and Death himself thinks he's the only one that can survive it.
If anything Richard Rider is going to prove Death wrong.

The Mutants on Earth and Planet Arakko have their mixed feelings during a holiday season. Kamala Khan is forced to hide her mutant identity in school even though she doesn't celebrate Christmas as she is a Muslim. The grieving Wolverine pours his beer for the fallen mutants at the grave. Iceman snuggles up with his Inhuman boyfriend, Romeo, in somewhere else. Sunspot on Planet Arakko is worried over Richard Rider's dire condition. The Arakki Mutants are excited for Blood Dawn the festival in Arakko where they fight each other in sparring matches every year to settle their old conflicts. Craig Marshall the token human from NASA stops Loolo and Kobb from fighting. So instead he comes up with another idea - having first turkey dinner on Arakko.
Meanwhile, Orchis the Anti-Mutant organization are baffled when they find that Santa Claus is a mutant on the Mutant Detector Radar.

Nova (Richard Rider) appears on this week’s comics!
Here, Richard Rider is one of the representatives who was present in the meeting with Gladiator, Deathbird, Xandra, Paibok and Frenzy. Also, the chart mentions that Richard is an ally of Arakko.

Al Ewing said in an interview that in X Men Red is now starting a plot for which he made Richard Rider is in Arakko. But what can one Nova do that omega-level mutants can't? And it seems I have an answer.
Tumblr media
Maybe there are no thrones in Arakko, but there is a general.
Tumblr media
I'm sure Richard doesn't want to return to this role, but the war is unlikely to ask his opinion.

Due to a series of catastrophic Incursions across the multiverse, The Baxter Foundation called together a select list of heroes to debrief them on an incoming Incursion set to destroy Earth-616 and Earth-199999. Tensions escalated at the meeting when it was revealed that the Fantastic Four have come up with a plan that won’t be able to save everyone. Before the meeting could end, a series of fissures tore into reality on 4 Yancy Street and signaled that our heroes don’t have much more time.
THIS IS THE OFFICIAL CHAT LOG COVERAGE OF THE IC
RICHARD RIDER (616): He was in his 'civies' today -- his civilian clothes -- and he wondered as he walked in, only a few dotted around the room of seats so far at 4 Yancy Street, how many would recognise him without the nova uniform. Perhaps that was for the best. His adventure to the Shi'ar Empire with Daisy hadn't exactly gone without a hitch... maybe he could avoid being asked any questions about the incursion damage he had seen on Chandilar. Avoid being the face of any of this. Rich stopped and unzipped his hoodie, looking for any familiar faces.
EMMA FROST (616): The ( White ) Queen hath arrived. Stilettos that stretched to an impossible height clicked against the tiling of the floor as Emma all but swept into the meeting space. Clad in the white silk that people would have expected from her, the mutant surveyed the room before finding a seat near the center of the space. As one ankle crossed over the other she inspected pointed nails with lingering disinterest. The people so far fell outside of anyone she deemed worthy of conversation. This meeting, if anything, needed to be brief. There was business to attend to.
EROS (MCU): He had just gotten out of his first, so called, speed dating event. He had to say it wasn't quite as fast as he expected it to be, and with the constant repeating questions it all got rather boring. Where was the excitement? The thrill, the spontaneous love?! All he could feel was the loneliness coming off of all of the attendees. It really killed his vibe. Despite his vibes being damaged he still made his way to the meeting. It was significant, and would likely cause him emotional pain, but he needed to be there. He needed to do something to help, his inaction had already caused the universe enough harm in regards to his brother. "Hello hello, I'm here. Please stop holding your breath." He announced with a smile to the rather unenthused room. He could feel how serious and tense people felt and it just didn't suit him one bit.
JEAN GREY (616): Following behind Emma but flanked by Ororo and Laura, Jean did a quick mental scan of the area as the current ambassador to Arakko ( Storm ) and the two designated X-Men representatives arrived. Upon spotting T’Challa, Ororo separated from the two to confer with her former husband with bent heads and hushed voices. Unsure if Scott and Lorna would be able to make it in time, the redhead and Laura took seats next to one another. “It never goes well when they call us all together, does it?”
DAISY JOHNSON (AOS): The air in the room was stale as Daisy filed in, not too far behind Rich. The Nuhuman cleared her throat in an awkward passing greeting once she made eye contact, deciding she didn't want to unpack their time with the Shi'ar right now as she walked past him. Chandilar had been kind of a disaster, even aside from finding out that the Incursions were worse than they all thought. One, or both realities. Totally annihilated. The email was unsettling to say the least, and it didn't help that she didn't know anyone in that room. Not personally. No one from Earth-084 was there for her to lean on, no one from her team. Crossing her leather jacket covered arms, Daisy leaned against a nearby wall and took a deep breath. Hopefully this would be short.
STEVE ROGERS (616): He had arrived early as per usual. He had taken claim to his seat and had been sitting patiently. He had a notebook in front of him for taking notes, but the one he was currently going through was for his homework. He felt guilty working on his art at such a serious time, but he had gotten here so early he was just aching for something to do. Upon seeing everyone start to arrive, and this worlds version of Starfox announce his presence he closed up his art book and waited patiently for the events to begin.
MAKKARI (MCU): As per usual when they traveled, Makkari skidded to a stop and set Druig down. She had monitored her speed to stop from going too fast ( lest he also lose the ability to hear ) and had to bounce in place to try and disperse some of the extra energy pounding in her veins. Why is he liked that? She signed in response to Eros’ introduction.
DRUIG (MCU): Druig dusted himself off after Makkari set him down. Rolling his eyes at Eros and his behavior, he signed back to Makkari, Whatever it is, I don’t know how much more I can take.
NATASHA ROMANOFF (616): There had been a few things to attend to before Natasha was able to make her way downtown to 4 Yancy Street. The Baxter Building would have been more convenient, but the Fantastic Four hadn’t operated out of there in a while. There was an empty seat next to Steve that she claimed before leaning forward to brace her forearms against her thighs. “Any bets you want to take about how this goes?”
DAIMON HELLSTROM: Daimon had never been one for theatrics, so of course he appeared in the room as inconspicuously as possible. A pentagram of hellfire appeared in one corner of the room as Daimon arose from his plane of hell entering the room, first shirtless before being wreathed in flames that formed a suit on his body. Subtlety at its finest.
BOBBI MORSE (616): “Daisy Johnson.” The blonde agent greeted the brunette with a tip of her head. The two knew each other marginally; they both had versions in their realities in addition to the ones that currently stood side by side. “Nice to see you. Hopefully this starts soon.” Bobbi turned her eyes towards the front of the room.
MARC SPECTOR (MCU): Marc followed the other unfamiliar faces into the meeting room, his shoulders tense and jaw set as he subconsciously scanned the room. His constant hyperawareness was a habit he'd picked up after his time in the Marines and as a mercenary, and then eventually while serving Khonshu.  He didn't have much time to really process the fact that the bird god was never really gone, given the fact that he was suddenly thrust into another world ending event. He was exhausted and irritated, and honestly just wished he could have Layla there at his side. Instead, he watched with bitter eyes as Khonshu appeared in the corner of the room. The multiverse is collapsing and these insolent mortals think they can resolve it with a board meeting. "Shut up." Marc muttered, the bitterness evident in his tone as he appeared to just be talking to himself.
NOH-VARR (200080): "Rich." he said as he walked into the room soon after Nova. "I'm not used to seeing you dressed so casually. Interesting taste." He teased in good fun before tucking an ivory strand of hair back into place on his head. "You seem nervous."
DAISY JOHNSON (AOS): "Bobbi." Daisy greeted the blonde in response, not really able to help herself from just the first name basis. This Bobbi looked and talked like hers, even if she knew that they did not share the same reality. It was nice to have a somewhat familiar presence. "You too. I'm enjoying the quiet before this all turns to shit, though."
RICHARD RIDER (616): "I am nervous." Rich retorted back at Noh-Varr with a raise of his dark brows. "Do you know where you're sitting? Think there's an order to this?"
MARC SPECTOR (616): “Little birdie still lurking on your shoulder?” Marc chimed in from his seat near where his multiversal counterpart stood, clad in his Mr. Knight getup — arms folded, feet propped up on the chair in front of him. Seemingly talking to himself was something Marc was all too familiar with; but he knew Khonshu just as well as the other man, and the bird would never pass up an opportunity like this.
STEVE ROGERS (616): "Now you know I'm not one for gambling, Nat. Especially not at a time like this." He said before scanning the room. "I'll bet you a dollar that Eros is going to make a scene. If he's anything like the one we had he's a fiend for attention." Steve added with a smirk.
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): Stephen entered the room with America by his side, not sure how he'd become so grateful to have a kid be escorting him to a meeting like this. But he couldn't help but feel like he was in the hot seat. The email had been pretty explicit with the fact that he had been the one to cause some of these Incursions. And now their reality was facing one as they spoke. "Judging by most of the faces of people in this room, I don't think people fully understand the gravity of the situation." He mumbled quietly to America, his cloak whisking over his shoulder as he took a deep breath and found them some seats.
NOH-VARR (200080): He resisted to ask why and chose to believe it was because universe ending events are scary. Noh glanced around the room. "I feel as though this will dissolve into absolute chaos by the end, so I think it's safe to say no. Or rather, if there is an order to it I don't imagine it lasting long enough to matter." He said with a shrug. "Somewhere more in the back is where I'd prefer to sit. I assume you asked so you'd have a, at least somewhat, friendly face by your side?"
PETER QUILL (616): Peter made his way into the room with Gamora by his side, his shoulders relaxing a bit when he spotted Rich and Noh across the room. Making their way over, he offered a soft nod to greet the other two before glancing around the room. "Glad we're not late for once, huh?" He tried to joke, but the energy of the room was quiet and tense, so it just fell flat as he looked over to some nearby chairs. "The back sounds nice."
VALERIA RICHARDS (616): Valeria had still been going over the schematics her parents had put together when people started arriving, adding a few last tweaks to the designs her father had made. She wondered if it was a good idea to have this many people involved in the operation -- too many cooks in the kitchen and all that. They had to solve the incursion incidents, which meant listening to one another, and Val doubted that all these strong personalities in one place could solve the issue. Of course it was good to have imput, but in situations like this people often thought with their emotions rather than logic. People had started to chatter, and for now Valeria observed them quietly.

RICHARD RIDER (616): Rich had only just opened his mouth to answer Noh when Pete appeared. "Yeah, the back. Together." He would rather be around the Guardians over anyone else right now.
PETER PARKER (MCU): Peter was sitting down across the room, anxiously tapping his leg as he glanced around at everyone around him. There were some familiar faces, and some unfamiliar, but one thing was for sure. He was anxious as all hell. There was no way there was going to be any good news about these Incursions. Not news that would change the feeling of impending doom that was slowly rising in his chest. He missed being able to talk with someone that he knew, but none of the faces around him from his reality even remembered who he was anymore. "Any idea when the, uh.. Richards are gonna get here? That was their names, right?"
PETER PARKER (616): Peter couldn’t be bothered to wear his entire costume at a moment like this; but his identity was apparently something he still needed to protect, so he zipped up his hoodie, flipping the hood up over his mask as he slouched in his chair. He could see Peter 1 on the other side of the room, but he wasn’t sure if the kid had spotted him just yet, and he silently hoped he wouldn’t. There was a time and place for mentoring, and now was definitely not it.
SUSAN STORM (616): It was the end of the world as they knew that. It was dramatic, but scarily true. The world was ending and there was, it seemed, nothing that they could do about it. Susan had done the song and dance before. She had heard about impending apocalypses and staved them off with numbers and teamwork. They had seen the world come to the verge of ending again and again, but this time felt different. There was a deep tugging in her gut that reminded that that this time -- this time -- it was real. “The Richard’s are here,” Susan replied to Spider-man’s question as she entered the room with Reed. Val was already there, and Sue gave her daughter a quick smile before facing the group. “Thank you for coming.” When she clasped both hands in front of her, the gloves muffled the clapping sound as people continued to trickle in. “I know you have questions, and while we have answers it won’t be enough to make this better. Now, I’ve been hearing people talk about Incursions. Who actually knows what an Incursion is? Let’s start by getting on the same page.”
MARC SPECTOR (MCU): Marc's head shot towards the voice that was addressing him, and he failed to resist the urge to roll his eyes at the man who donned a nearly identical suit to Steven's. I think he looks pretty dapper, Marc. Don't you think? The Brit's voice echoed through his head, and Marc just closed his eyes tightly for a moment to ground himself. He felt bad trying to push Steven away, but he was just not in the mood. "What, he's not lurking on yours too?" He spat, although he still took a seat next to his counterpart anyways as he leaned forward on the table.
NOH-VARR (200080): Leaning back in his chair with his fellow space freaks Noh listened to Susan. In regards to her question he simply nodded. He didn't find it a hard concept to wrap his mind around. He glanced around the room to see if that sentiment was shared.
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed often found that he felt better about most daunting situations when he could put them into terms that were easier to understand. Facts and figures, those were easy for him to understand. Unfortunately, the facts of this matter only made him feel worse the more that he and the rest of his family tried to compute and calculate all of the different scenarios and outcomes. They were on a direct course towards total and complete destruction. Both Earth-199999 and Earth-616 would be destroyed if they couldn't come up with a solution. They'd figured past situations out before but this was different. This was unavoidable. He and Susan were right on time, and while it gave him a little bit of hope to see a room full of heroes ready to take action, he knew that the conversation they were about to have was only going to crush most of their spirits. It was probably going to be the hardest conversation of his life. Letting Susan take the lead, Richard glanced around the room and decided to listen for a moment for any answers anyone might have.
VALERIA RICHARDS: Valeria returned her mother's smile, holding back a laugh at her comment toward one of the spider-men. She quickly went over the designs in front of her again, making sure her calculations were correct -- although she knew they were, it was never a bad idea to double check. Standing, she made her way over to her parents, handing over the designs. "Try not to over complicate your explanation of incursions." She whispered, just so her parents could hear her. "I'm done with my edits, I'm very confident about these designs."
MARC SPECTOR (616): Marc could almost laugh. He and the other man were so, so alike, but different in an infinite multitude of ways. It was strange how quickly he adapted to the idea of another him, but they were both Marc Spector. Why ally with anyone at all if not yourself? “Khonshu is currently imprisoned on Asgard. Powerless,” he paused, head tilting to the side in thought as he was reminded of the situation, “So no, the weight on my shoulders is surprisingly light.”
AMERICA CHAVEZ (UTOPIAN PARALLEL): “Incursions. That’s when reality goes boom.” America piped up from next to Stephen. “They just, like, vanish.”
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): Stephen just nodded at America's words, then held up a finger and pointed to her in response. "What she said."
SUSAN STORM (616): Valeria’s comment caused an uptick of Susan’s lips before she leaned in to kiss her daughter on the cheek, whispering back a quiet: “I’ll try.” Straightening, Susan did the best she could for a smile: tight pursed lips that struggled to be anything but flat. “Thank you, America. That’s a good start. An Incursion is triggered when reality is tampered with to an intense degree and they act in a domino effect. All around the multiverse, realities have been colliding with one another. The result is one -- or both -- being entirely annihilated. Please observe,” Grabbing her tablet, Susan powered on the hologram. She used her fingers to zoom in on one apparently empty space. “Earth-1890 and Earth-15379 used to occupy this zone. As you can see, they’ve been wiped out. In other instances,” she moved to another space with one remaining orb. “One reality beat the other out. As it stands, our reality is now set to collide with not one but two realities: Earth-616 and Earth-1610. We’re effectively sandwiched in the middle of them.” Pausing, she looked to Val. “Was that too much?”
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed nodded at the several responses they received, and smiled faintly at his daughter when she asked them to not over complicate things. It felt nearly impossible, but then a young girl across the room piped up and as simple as her explanation was, it was unfortunately correct. And then Susan was picking up the tablet and Reed turned with everyone else to watch as she displayed the empty space, followed by some more examples. His first instinct was to grimace as she explained to everyone that they were sandwiched in between two realities, but they needed to hear it. A gloved hand reached over to tenderly rub Susan's arm when she finished, nodding. "As it stands now, there's no foolproof way for us to intercept this collision. It's not possible to calculate what exactly will happen when they eventually do collide, but we do know one thing." Pausing, the scientist took a deep breath to brace himself for what he was about to say. "Based on our calculations, we have approximately seven days, or one week, until the Incursion occurs."
DAISY JOHNSON (AOS): "Yeah, sorry. Question here," Daisy interrupted, raising her hand and frowning at all of that. It was a lot to process, but she couldn't wrap her brain around one other thing. "What caused all of this?"
AMERICA CHAVEZ (UTOPIAN PARALLEL): “Thanks for clarifying that last part. I didn’t know seven days was a week.” America snickered under her breath, eyes trained on the floor. She knew why this was happening. She didn’t want anyone else to, and Daisy's question meant that she was about to have to face it.
NOH-VARR (200080): Noh couldn't help but scoff out of amusement when he heard his old friend America chime in.
CLEA STRANGE (616): “That’s complicated.” There was a cloud of black and purple as the Sorcerer Supreme entered the room with her red cape snapping. “But it is, in fault, the work of Stephen Strange in both Earth-838 and here.”
EROS (MCU): As soon as Reed mentioned the time frame Eros winced as he felt whatever semblance of joy persisted through the room shrivel up and die. "Well there has to be something we can do about this isn't there. Not everything can be all doom and gloom. We wouldn't be called here just to be told we're all going to die. Right?"
VALERIA RICHARDS (616): Val playfully rolled her eyes at her mother. "Maybe a little, but probably the simplest explanation without going overboard." Her eyes flickered around the room as people spoke, all of them voicing their concerns and questions. Her original concern about having this many people here to discuss this was starting to become real -- too many cooks in a kitchen.
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): Stephen was bracing himself to stand up and admit fault, as difficult as it was, but then Clea entered the room and did it for him. He wanted to be annoyed, but honestly it took a lot of the original weight off of his shoulders to not have to say it out loud himself first. "She's right. The why behind it isn't important. The Incursions are already increasing at a rapid rate, and like our deal old scientist friends here say, we have a week."
PETER QUILL (616): Peter couldn't even process that as he just stared, dumbfounded. Glancing at Gamora, Rich, and Noh, he frowned. "I'm sorry, did he just say we have a week to live? Cause that's what I'm hearing."
NOH-VARR (200080): "Or seven days." He added trying to force some amusement into the abysmal conversation as his mind began racing, just trying to come up with some solution to recreate the kirby engines and cosmic projector of the marvel to try and make an escape shuttle.
RICHARD RIDER (616): Rich found his voice. He looked at each of the Guardians by his side. "It's not just about doing something. I--We've--" He looked at Daisy then back to them. "We've seen what these incursions do. It's... chaos."
DAIMON HELLSTROM (616): Daimon raised an eyebrow at Rich as he crossed one leg of the other. "Going on misadventures through the cosmos together? I'm sure we'd all love to hear about them."
PETER PARKER (616): Peter’s stomach dropped. He knew it was bad, but putting it into words - especially by the group of highly educated scientists speaking to all of them today - made it all too real. He desperately wished MJ were there, if only to spend as much time with her as possible over this next week.
RICHARD RIDER (616): Rich scowled softly Hellstrom. "It was a mission. From SHIELD. I'm Earth's acting ambassador so I had to go. Trust me, I wish I hadn't."
CLEA STRANGE (616): “I’ve spoken with Wanda, and we’ve reached an agreement that I think our friends at the Baxter Foundation would second: there’s nothing that can be done.” Clea came to a stop next to Stephen. “Not against this.”
EMMA FROST (616): “Nothing to do?” The words slowly curled upwards in pitch. “You’re expecting us to just roll over and die? We simply give up and take your word?” A scoff. “I don’t think so, darling.”
VALERIA RICHARDS (616): "The tension in here is rising a little too fast," Valeria said quietly to her parents, the noise level in the room was rising quickly. "This could escalate if we don't calm them down and fast."
AMERICA CHAVEZ (UTOPIAN PARALLEL): “I don’t think it matters what you think.” America frowned at the bitchy blonde. She was on edge, waiting for people to come at Stephen for his actions. “But you guys called us here for more than just a death sentence, right?” She turned towards Reed and Sue, ignoring Val.
DAISY JOHNSON (AOS): Daisy could feel panic rising in her chest, a feeling she'd normally learned to compartmentalize and deal with later. But this was all becoming very real, very fast. Scoffing at the dude with the literal frickin' pentagram on his chest, she narrowed her eyes. "If you call misadventures going across space to gain intel about realities being decimated, then yeah. Sure." Her tone was sharp as her fists clenched at her sides.
DAIMON HELLSTROM (616): "I don't see how it makes it any less of a misadventure but good to know." Daimon responded to Rich with a roll of his eyes. "I'm with the fancifully dressed blonde over here. Myself and my denizens cannot be expected to just wait to die singing kumbayah as the flames of hell are extinguished."
SUSAN STORM (616): “Once again, our genius daughter is right.” Susan shook her head with a sigh. “Listen, everyone, we *do* have a plan. It just may not be one everyone likes.”
EROS (MCU): Eros ran a hand through his hair as his head throbbed in pain. All these emotions forcing their way into his skull. Fear, anger, guilt, it was becoming too much. If things didn't change soon. He started pumping out more positive energy into the room in an attempt to calm things down.
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed took a deep breath, hoping to try and reel everyone in before things escalated too much. "Everyone, please." He raised his voice a bit, trying to get the attention of the rest of the room as he raised his hands and waited for a bit of quiet to continue. "Susan's right, we do have a plan." Knowing that it wasn't going to make the energy of the room any better, Reed just got on with it. "Contingency plans need to be put into place before we try to handle this problem at the root, so our main goals should be raising awareness, stemming panic and encouraging extraction."
DRUIG (MCU): It was Tiamut all over again. But perhaps things would end as they always did, and they’d reset - get another chance. Arishem would build anew. Druig shook away the thought, as he caught wind of Eros’ emotional manipulation taking place. Stop. Let them figure it out on their own, he projected to the other.
VALERIA RICHARDS (616): Valeria knew America's comments were directed at her parents, and didn't appreciate the snub. Just because she was young didn't mean she was clueless. "Thanks Mom," she said, flicking her hair over her shoulder. "We have plans -- we have gone over them together and separately to ensure that our calculations and designs are correct in what we aim to do to help the situation. Now you can all argue amongst each other and waste time, or you could use your heads and work together. I think working together might be the better option here."
EROS (MCU): Eros glanced over to Druig. You caught me. He projected, offering a smirk despite being in pain. I'll give them a little more time to work this out on their own before I try to intervene, but please do stop seeing them as the other. It's just us now. He concluded with a nod.
NOH-VARR (200080): "Extraction?" Noh chimed in leaning forward into his seat. "Do you have multiverse permeating craft to evacuate the citizens of earth? Or at least have an idea. I have some experience with said technology and would like to offer my aid, should that be the plan."
MARC SPECTOR (MCU): Marc found himself just as furious and dumbfounded as everyone else as he just stared daggers through the two scientists across from him in the room. Steven's presence was no longer felt, no doubt because this scared the shit out of him.  It scared Marc too. The silence in his thoughts almost deafening for a few moments until Khonshu spoke up again from across the room. Look at them, speaking of contingency plans and extraction. You're better off spending our last week of existence carrying out my vengeance. Protecting the travelers of the night. Groaning to himself and holding onto his temples, Marc shut his eyes tightly again and just slowly started to shake his head. As if shaking it would make all of this stop happening.
SUSAN STORM (616): “Exactly.” Susan agreed with Valeria before looking to Reed. “Extraction is the focal point here and revolves around --” It felt like the air in the room shifted as Susan felt a new lightless wash over her. “--Y’know what? We have a week. We can do this later.”
DRUIG (MCU): Druig rolled his eyes, eyes glowing a faint gold as he responded to Eros, They’re surprisingly self sufficient, moreso than you’d think. I have faith.
MARC SPECTOR (616): Marc could tell his other self was in distress. There wasn’t much he could do to help, but he empathized with the man. Snapping in front of the other’s face in a feeble attempt to snap him out of it — to tune out Khonshu - Marc grabbed the other man’s shoulder with one gloved hand, “Marc! Hey! Don’t listen to him. This is bigger than Khonshu.”
EROS (MCU): His eyes widened. "Well a week isn't a very long time. It would be best to continue, don't you think?" Eros responded worried he chilled out one of the few people who didn't need it.
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed frowned as Susan's demeanor shifted, and he could feel the positive energy washing over him as well as his shoulders relaxed. He could tell it was unnatural and probably the result of one of the many heroes in the room, so he took a deep breath and tried to refocus his thoughts as best as he could. "Yes, we uh..." He trailed off, losing his train of thought as he glanced to Susan again and gently pulled her aside, despite the fact that they'd been in the middle of describing their plan. "Susan, hey... Let's refocus, yeah?"
MARC SPECTOR (MCU): Blinking hard, Marc realized that his counterpart was speaking to him as he tried to offer a nod. There was something oddly.. comforting about having someone else who understood. Someone besides Layla who didn't just think he was crazy. "I.. I know." He insisted, tensing at the shoulder grab as he tried to just take a deep breath. But his chest was hitching as he gripped onto the edge of the table. "I just.. I have a wife, you know? I have a wife at home who has no idea how bad this all really is."
RICHARD RIDER (616): Rich turned to Peter and Gamora, quietly. "This might be the final run, guys. I'm not sure there's an out this time. If there is, I'm with you, but I want you both to know if this is it then I'm happy we got this extra time." He smile was soft and resolute.
PETER PARKER (616): As fast as the anger, frustration, and sadness had faded, it came crashing back. Peter felt sick. A week. Scratching at his mask in irritation, he stood up suddenly, folding it up so he could speak louder, “—what the hell is happening??”
PETER PARKER (MCU): Peter had been sitting in complete and utter silence for the past thirty minutes, the words repeating over and over in his head. A week, we have a week. A week until you die. Again. The panic rose in his chest the longer they sat there, but then the other Peter stood up and he found himself instinctively reaching up to grab onto the other Peter’s arm. “Hey, dude.. C-Calm down, alright? Let’s just calm down.”
SUSAN STORM (616): “Refocus.” Susan repeated, eyes glassy. Right. They needed to refocus, only... God, she had been tired. Did she have to be so tired all the time? It felt good to not be bone crushingly exhausted. Also, where the hell was Franklin? Or Johnny and Ben, for that matter? She rubbed at her eyes as her thoughts spiraled. “Tell them about extraction.”
VALERIA RICHARDS (616): Val felt more relaxed, but the way her mother had just reacted stirred some suspicion. Which hero could make her mum chill out this much? She needed to get their number after this was over -- she had never seen Susan so.... Utterly calm. She cleared her throat. "We have devised some schematics for an operation ship that will focus on extraction. On board will be a group of heroes and scientists that have been pre-selected who will be working alongside Eden Fesi." Val paused, bringing up the plans on the hologram. "Eden is also known as Manifold - he is a mutant who is capable of large-scale galactic teleportation."
MARC SPECTOR (616): He had a wife too. Had. “I understand,” he kept a hand firmly placed on the other man’s shoulder, “But you can’t lose it right now, Marc. You’ve gotta keep it under control, for her.”
AMERICA CHAVEZ (MCU): “Oh Dios mío” America spat. “Would someone explain extraction and stop just saying it?” Then, Valeria began to talk. Valeria was talking and people weren’t listening. America stalked to a wall where no one was listening and shoved her fist into it. Instead of her knuckles breaking, a blue star erupted over the surface. There was briefest glimpse into the other reality before America closed the portal. “Cállense, pendejos.”
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed was finding it difficult to overcome the crowd as everyone was raising their voices and letting themselves panic. It was hard for him not to do the same, but he shoved those emotions away and let the newfound energy wash over him. Thankfully he wasn't down for the count like Susan seemed to be, but he was almost glad that his wife had the opportunity to just... relax, for a minute. She deserved it. As the younger woman punched a blue star into the wall, Reed gladly took the opportunity to continue Val's words. "Manifold will get as many people away from the extraction point as he can. People of interest, if you want to call them as so; powered individuals, agents, anyone with experience that can help us sort through this situation have been delegated flights and extraction plans as best we could delegate." Pausing, he let that sink in for everyone before continuing. "There will also be individuals designated for the ground until the last second at the heart of the Fracturing, or the spot where the realities will collide. And before everyone starts to get a rise out of that again, being on the ground doesn’t mean you’re going to die. We've carefully thought through every option and this seems to be our best chance at saving as many lives as possible."
PETER PARKER (616): Peter pulled his mask down, falling back into his seat a bit more aggressively than he meant to. Peter 1’s hand on his arm was enough to bring him back to reality - evidently. “We’re fucked, man. We’re so fucked.”
NATASHA ROMANOFF (616): Leaning back in her chair, Nat’s head cocked to the side. “So, you guys are going to sit in your Quinjet and pick and choose which ones of us should live and die?”
PETER PARKER (MCU): Peter wasn't sure he was in a place to really do any comforting, but he knew he had to. He'd needed it when May died, and he'd be there to do it while this Peter needed it. "They have a plan, right? We can hear them out."
PETER QUILL (616): Quill just found himself turning towards Rich and Gamora, hating how this suddenly sounded like goodbye as he just interrupted Rich. "No. No, I... Stop saying it like that. Like you're just saying your goodbyes." He didn't want to get angry, but he found his temper flaring anyways as he ran his fingers through his hair and let out an exacerbated sigh. "There.. there has to be something they're missing, right? Something we don't see?" He wasn't going to say goodbye. Not when he'd just gotten them back.
SUSAN STORM (616): By this point, Susan had taken a chair and propped her head up on her hand. “That makes it sound bad. And you’re right. It’s bad. Really bad.” She sighed. “But, it’s our only shot.”
GAMORA (616): While Rich got sentimental and Peter tried to make it seem like it wasn’t as bad as it was ( she loved him for it, but he was wrong ), Gamora kept her eyes trained on the family at the front of the room. “Tell us who you’re extracting.” She demanded. “Or is it a surprise?”
VALERIA RICHARDS (616): Valeria resisted rolling her eyes as America punched a star into the wall. She listened to her father explain the rest of the plan, hoping that the rest of them would take this on board. "This is about saving as many lives as possible." Valeria reiterated. "There will be a main extraction team, and those on the ground ensuring that as many people as possible are teleported to safety."
RICHARD RIDER (616): He patted Pete on the back, not having any answers for him that he believed in, then stood. "I'd like to volunteer for the ground team, if possible. Richard Rider. Nova. Can fly pretty fast."
REED RICHARDS (616): "The main extraction team will consist of myself, Susan, Ben, Johnny, Valeria, Franklin, Black Panther, and Manifold." Reed started, continuing his daughter's words. He needed to be the one to announce this next part, not her. As much as he appreciated her help, announcing their extraction plans was bound to piss some people off. "We will be extracting the following," He paused to grab his tablet and quickly scrolled to his documents, where they'd typed up some formal plans. He paused at Nova's offer for help and smiled faintly, knowing the man's name was on their list for who to eventually extract. "America Chavez, Captain Marvel, Moon Knight, of Earth-616, Valkyrie of Earth-616, Spider-Man of both Earth-616 and Earth-1610, Nova and Cyclops of Earth-616, Stephen Strange of Earth-199999, and the Scarlet Witch of Earth-616." It wasn't easy, giving everyone a list of who was essentially chosen to be saved. It sounded selfish, but if they were going to truly try to resolve this then they needed more time. And getting to the Negative Zone with their team was going to be their best shot at repairing reality. "These scientists and name's of heroes we have chosen to extract have been carefully thought out, and have been designated as our best chance of saving everyone else in the end. Unfortunately, we can't initially save everyone. Not if we want a chance to resolve things later. I understand that this is difficult to hear, but it's necessary."
PETER PARKER (616): “Of course,” Peter was on his feet again, livid. “It’s what we were all expecting you to say.” Shaking his head, he continued, “So you expect us to go forward with this plan knowing people we care about, people we love might not be chosen, just because they don’t fit into the ‘plan’. It’s bullshit, is what it is. I’m sorry.”
MARC SPECTOR (MCU): Marc could hear the other man’s words, but they were getting more and more muffled by the second. Like he was underwater. The hand still on his shoulder was enough to ground him for a few more seconds, but ultimately he just didn't have the energy to stay conscious. He could feel Jake just itching to snatch the wheel and take the driver's seat. And honestly? If the bastard wanted to still hold them to a deal with Khonshu, he could deal with the weight of this conversation. Marc couldn't anymore. He buried his face in his arms on the table for a moment, and when he lifted his head it was clear by his demeanor that Marc was no longer present. Shaking the hand off of his shoulder, Jake piped up. "El chico araña is right. This is some bullshit. And I’m not sorry.”
RAHNE SINCLAIR: Rahne came hard through the side door; too fast, tripping over her feet and landing flat against the hard wood floor. She panted. Her lungs burned, feeling the air completely knocked out of her. With reddened cheeks the young mutant did her best to recover and raise herself up. Rather than stand in front of everyone, she decided to crawl over to where she saw a few of the x-men. She felt eyes on her. “What did I miss…” Her eyes were wide. The room smelled angry.
MARC SPECTOR (616): The other Marc was gone for now, that much was clear. It was Jake Lockley’s turn. Marc simply sat back in his chair and watched, dusted off his suit a bit, and folded his arms across his chest once more. “I second that sentiment,” he spoke up.
DAIMON HELLSTROM (616): Daimon looked to the ever so punctual Rhane. "Oh you didn't miss much. Just the best and brightest minds telling us that we're all going to die except for a handful of people because we aren't worth saving. Now isn't that just peachy?"
ABIGAIL BRAND (616): “So.” Abigail crossed her arms over her chest before looking to the Richard’s. “You’re saving yourselves and your children. Typical. Can’t we better fill two seats with people who aren’t preteens?”
SUSAN STORM (616): Susan was instantly out of her seat. “Watch it.”
CLEA STRANGE (616): Clea understood why she wasn’t chosen, despite the skills she had to offer. Stephen had gotten them into this mess and now she hoped he could get them out. “The Richard’s picked these people for a reason,” she said evenly. “And we have to trust them because we have no choice.”
LAURA KINNEY (616): Bending down, Laura offered a hand to help Rahne up. She knew that she could smell the same thing she could: anger and fear. “The world is ending.” Laura informed her flatly. “And most of us didn’t make the A-Team.”
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed could tell Susan was furious at that accusation. Hell, he was too. It wasn’t ever going to be that simple. “My family and I have made massive breakthroughs in interdimensional travel and theory. To put it simply… We know what we’re talking about. And staying as a team gives us a better chance to find a solution for all of this. And we didn’t make this decision lightly, I can assure you that.”
RAHNE SINCLAIR (616): "That's nothing new." Rahne nodded and took Laura's hand. She dusted herself off and replied to Daimon quietly with a roll of her eyes. "Wonderful."
SUSAN STORM (616): Still simmering with anger towards Abigail, Susan shook her head and tried to focus. It was a little difficult considering the lingering effects of whatever the hell had happened. “Family is important to talk about, though. We’re opening the Baxter Building to house your loved ones. It’ll be a safe -- and secure -- place for them.”
MARC SPECTOR/JAKE LOCKLEY (MCU): Jake scoffed at that as he leaned back in the seat and pointedly stared at the blonde woman. It wasn't like he had any loved ones, but he did feel a twinge of worry at the fact that Layla would just be holed up in a tower while the world as they knew it ended. Not his own worry, though. For Marc and Steven. Definitely for Marc and Steven. Even if he wouldn't admit it to the two idiots, the whole reason he did anything that he did was because he cared about them. "What, are 'ya gonna surround the Baxter Building in some fancy Incursion proof forcefield? While your family gets to be personally chauffeured out? Screw you."
SUSAN STORM (616): God, it was infuriating. It was heartbreaking because Susan knew where they were coming from but she couldn’t make everyone happy. She just had to trust they were doing the right thing. Sue was opening her mouth to respond when a large tremor shook the room. 4 Yancy Street seemed to be sturdy, but another one erupted back to back.
DAISY JOHNSON (AOS): Daisy had adjusted by now to the vibrant hums of everyone in the room. Not just from their dialogue, but their presence alone. It was like a constant, familiar white noise to be around this many people at once, but then everything shifted. That constant, steady noise slowly turned piercing as a tremor erupted from outside the room. Her first instinct was that maybe it had been her, but she knew better. And then there was another abrupt, violent vibration. Her ears were ringing and she couldn't help but to clutch at her ears and loudly wince.
RICHARD RIDER (616): Rich felt a rumbling under his feet. His eyes darted to the front of the room, then the back, looking for the source. Everyone seemed as confused as he was. Before he knew it, he had the cloth that made his Nova helmet out, giving it a flick so it would return to a solid state. He placed it on and began to glow a familiar golden yellow. "Is everyone okay?" He shouted.
RAHNE SINCLAIR (616): On the first tremor, she held herself, only letting out a growl through her teeth. By the second, Rahne couldn't help it-- her fight or flight mode was triggered. She began to transform; her eyes brightly red, her ears growing tall and furred.
SUSAN STORM (616): “Reed!” A fissure appeared on the ground but Susan threw a forcefield down on top of it to stop anyone from falling into the hole. “Is this ---?”
AMERICA CHAVEZ (UTOPIAN PARALLEL): Stumbling backwards, America almost lost her balance. She steadied herself before looking to Stephen. “What’s happening?” She could get everyone out, that was for sure.
PETER PARKER (616): Peter clutched the back of his chair as he stood, suddenly on high alert. One web shot across the room to keep a few individuals from falling toward the fissure, “Shit shit shit!”
JEAN GREY (616): Pink telekinetic energy caught various pieces of debris as they began to shake loose and fall towards the crowd. “Maybe we get everyone out here?” She turned to the man who had asked if everyone was okay. “Get them out.”
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed's eyes widened at the sound of Susan's voice. Everything seemed to escalate so quickly when there was suddenly a giant fissure in the middle of the ground in front of them. Spotting Clint Barton across the room about to fall towards the ground, Reed instinctively elongated his arm to catch the marksman. "Yes, I think so." He breathed back in response.
RICHARD RIDER: Rich nodded and blew a clean concussive blast at one wall, widening the exit by a fair amount. He began trying to usher the crowd. "Go, please! That way,"
DAIMON HELLSTROM (616): "A week?!" Daimon exclaimed in frustration before hellflire burned away his suit leaving him in his typical attire as his trident formed. "First you tell us we're doomed." He replied tracing a pentagram in the air with his trident. "Then you're wrong about your time." The pentagram began spinning as a gateway opened to outside. "And now we have to save the fucking day for you?" He said hurrying people through his gateway.
SUSAN STORM (616): It was too soon. “An Incursion.” Susan resisted the urge to yell. She instead stumbled through the tremors to the tablet that had fallen and powered it on. The device had fallen and the hologram kept glitching. It wasn’t the Incursion. Not yet, at least. “It’s a fissure!” Susan yelled over the din. “A side effect of getting too close to the other realities.” She was panting from holding the giant field over the fissure itself and it flickered before falling.
STEPHEN STRANGE (616): Stephen reached over to grab onto America's arm, helping to keep her steady with all of the shaking in the room as he immediately pulled his sling out and waved his hands to conjure up a portal. He knew America was more than capable, but she was still learning and they didn't have time to react. Before he could finish conjuring the portal, suddenly the building seemed to... invert on itself from within. It was frightening to watch, even for him. Reality was unstable, that was certain. The fabric of their reality was tearing as they knew it. It wasn't world ending yet, but it would be if anyone fell through these holes. Before he could even finish with his portal, the building seemed to completely invert and they were now standing outside on Yancy Street.
RICHARD RIDER (616): Nova was in what little air space there was, trying to spot and rescue stragglers and those stranded, when he felt himself pulled from behind. Not pulled. Yanked.
CLEA STRANGE (616): The phenomena appeared to be contained to a certain radius on the lot of 4 Yancy Street. The pieces of the residence were twisted in the air, no longer held together. Purple rings appeared around Clea’s hands as she motioned. A piece of concrete turned into petals and fell to the ground before it hit a man. The multiversal holes appeared to be opening at random intervals around the space. “Do not get sucked in.” The Sorcerer ordered.
DAIMON HELLSTORM (616): "Don't tell me what to do." Daimon replied as he held a hand his eyes lit ablaze as he telekinetically grabbed falling rubble after rubble having them bunch together as if he were forming a new moon in the sky before sending it to hell.
RICHARD RIDER (616): Everything around him dragged and blurred. Rich only realized he had ended up outside, somehow, by the feeling of the light wind against his cheek. He was still being pulled backwards. Damage control. He somersaulted and vaulted upwards,  just missing a shard of fence floating in the air. A stream of gold glow was left in his wake. He wanted to start directing the Nova Force at the segments of Yancy Street now being torn asunder but thought better of it, not knowing what might lie behind the holes that had appeared.
DAISY RIDLEY (616): Everything was escalating so fast, and Daisy didn't even hesitate once the tremors reached the room they were standing in. They were outside now and she watched in horror as several civilians outside were now screaming and running. A nearby woman fell into one of the fissures, and it was almost instantaneous that suddenly she just completely disappeared. Gone. Dead, no doubt. She was trying to do whatever she could, shooting a blast of tremors in the direction of some of the rubble to break it up into smaller pieces. Holding a large piece of the building up and gently swaying it back towards the ground, but then she felt her feet give out from under her and she couldn't recover herself as she felt herself getting sucked into one of the fissures. "Help!" She managed to shout at the top of her lungs when she realized what was happening, but her body was already exiting their reality.
PETER PARKER (616): Peter notice Daisy slipping much too late, “Daisy! No!” Shooting a web in her general direction, he launched himself into the air toward the fissure, but a portion of the building came flying past, slamming into him and pinning him to the ground before he could even react.
RAHNE SINCLAIR (616): The hole got bigger and before Rahne knew it, the ground beneath her was gone, and a half-transformed Wolfsbane sank into the void. At least it was a peaceful demise this time.
AMERICA CHAVEZ (UTOPIAN PARALLEL): They were supposed to be heroes, weren’t they? Stephen was an Avenger, which was, like, top tier hero work. America had already kicked the ground and sprung up a star for people to evacuate through, the random agents hurrying through them. The sound of someone calling for help caught her attention and America turned just in time to see Daisy begin to slide into the hole. Lunging forward, America grabbed her hand -- only to feel the pull of the hole begin to pull her in as well. Her eyes flashed white as she summoned up a portal, but the hole quickly consumed it as it sucked it into the void. It only took a split second for America to also vanish from view.
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): It all happened in an instant. One minute, America was by his side conjuring up portals to evacuate people, the next, she was out of his sight. He was distracted himself as he used his sling to continue to conjure up some more escape options, and then he glanced at his side and didn't see her. The girl was fast. He didn't have time to stop her as he watched her rush toward a falling S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. "America, hey!" He shouted, but she didn't hear him. America's hand was reaching out in an attempt to save the other woman, and then the fissure consumed both of them in the blink of an eye. "America!" The shout ripped from his throat as he watched in horror while she fell into the reality-less void. He almost fell to his knees right there, but he fought the limpness as he just stared blankly at the hole where the two of them had once just been.
WANDA MAXIMOFF (616): Better late than never, right? Wanda had been in deep meditation at Wundergore Mountain when she first felt the tremors. It was hard to explain, but it was a disturbance of sorts that broke the trance and instantly had her scrying to figure out where it was coming from. Wanda Maximoff was by all counts a reality warper with a tumultuous relationship to her craft. She had often had trouble with control, but the years had been kind to her. When she felt the shift, Wanda opened a portal in a flurry of red sparks. She arrived to a scene that was worse than she had pictured, which was saying something. Noticing that Spider-man was pinned down, chaos magic swirled around him before he was freed. “I should not take days off.”
SUSAN STORM (616): It took a little convincing to get Valeria to evacuate through the portals. The argument ended with because I am your mother and an angst ridden teenage look. Valeria had a beautiful brain but no powers. Susan wanted her kid as far away from the conflict as possible. Susan was using both hands to move various forcefields around to keep them away from people. She didn’t have eyes on the back of her head, however, and a piece clipped her in the back of the head. Susan fell flat on her ass, avoiding the hole nearby.
CLEA STRANGE (616): She saw all that happened. There was America reaching out towards Daisy, their hands barely touching before her own portal was sucked into the void with both of them. “Stephen.” Clea cast a burst of magic towards him, the lavender knocking an object away from his back. She landed at his side with a distraught sigh. “We have to contain this. America -- she’ll find us. She’ll be okay.”
REED RICHARDS (616): Reed was doing the best he could, although this was bad. He noticed a younger mutant and a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent fall into the nearby fissures, but he couldn't let himself focus on that right now. His wife was doing the best she could, but ultimately she was only one person. And they were a team, after all. In the literal sense and in their marriage. Rushing over to her, Reed offered a hand up to help her as he breathed. "Wanda Maximoff is here. With her help Strange and Clea might be able to get it contained." It was like putting a bandaid on the issue, but it could work.
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): Stephen didn't want to get up and continue to fight this. They had a week. A week before more fissures tore through their reality and eventually, they had a complete collision. America had been one of their hopes for a resolution to this and now? Now she was gone. Wherever she'd just fallen, that wasn't another reality. He'd seen how it ate her portal. She was gone. And even though he didn't want to fight, he pulled himself together and nodded, holding back tears of exhaustion as he turned and waved his hands to use a spell that would start to mend some of the fissures. He'd need some help to make it a more permanent solution, but there were several qualified magic users around. They'd catch on.
SUSAN STORM (616): Blood glistened on black gloves as Susan gingerly touched the back of her head with her free hand; the other, meanwhile, remained firmly hooked to Reed’s. “We don’t have any other choice.” Squeezing his hand, Susan took a step back. “I’ll go tell Clea and Wanda. It looks like Strange is already picking up on it.” Even though they had no time, she couldn’t stop herself from quickly moving forward and kissing her husband, one hand briefly on his chest before she turned and ducked through the debris of their home.
DAIMON HELLSTROM (616): Seeing Strange start with his magic Daimon was done with the small stuff. "We're all fucked!" He shouted as his body ignited and shifted. His facial features becoming more angular, bat like wings spouted from his back as a halo of black flame formed over his head. With a mighty flap of Satan's wings he flew into the air. "But let's try to put this off just a bit longer, yeah?!" He shouted as he gripped his trident with both hands and raised it into the air. Five pentagrams formed around him crafted from soulfire. Each served as a point connecting one to the other forming a much larger one behind him. The skies began to darken as he opened a large portal to his plane of hell, the energies feeding him all the while. Thunder boomed and lightning crackled in the air as his ungodly power filled this dimension. "We haven't got long, so let's put a bandaid on this bitch!" He added oh so eloquently as he performed a spell complementary to Strange's.
WANDA MAXIMOFF (616): Nodding along to what Susan requested, Clea and Wanda moved to the other two corners of the space opposite Daimon and Stephen. As Daimon showboated, Wanda resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she began her incantation. “Incredibly poetic, Hellstrom.” Scarlet from Wanda mingled with Clea’s purple, Daimon’s flames and Stephen’s orange. While Daimon drew on hell, Wanda called up all the chaos magic she could muster. The various magic forms created a band-aid of sorts. The area would remain contained and safe from those who passed by but it would spread over time. “It’s the best we can do,” the Witch informed Reed and Susan. “And it won’t last.”
SUSAN STORM (616): “We appreciate it, though.” Susan tried to offer the spell casters a tired smile. “It looks like Yancy Street is done for. Thankfully, the back-up research is at the Baxter Building. We’ll go there and triage. Based on this, our week long prediction seems to be too generous. You all need to go home. Hug the people you love and brace yourself.” With that, Susan took Reed’s hand and signaled for someone to help them to get to the Baxter Building, leaving everyone else to disperse.
DAIMON HELLSTROM (616): Daimon dropped down from the sky next to Wanda looking like his normal self once again. He looked to Stephen for a moment. If it had been his he would have hugged him but that would have just been awkward. He looked to Wanda and Clea. "Are we supposed to hug or is this more of a wave goodbye sort of deal?"
CLEA STRANGE (616): “Perhaps wave goodbye.” Clea’s cape was trying to brush a chunk of debris out of her hair. “I don’t feel like hugging when we’re standing at the edge of the world.”
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): Stephen was left breathless as their spell worked to contain the fissures that had torn into Yancy Street. It was obvious that this was far from over, and that the week they originally thought they had was most likely going to be cut far shorter. They didn’t have much time, and he needed to get back to the Sanctum. He needed to do whatever he could to research how to end this. America was gone and he... No, he wouldn’t accept that. He’d get her back. He needed her. They all needed her. “I’ll be at the Baxter Building tomorrow.” Strange said firmly, his tone stiff and sterile as he fought to conceal any emotion that was bubbling under the surface. And with that, he used a spell to lift himself off of the ground and flew off back to the Sanctum.

So Rich made an appearance in X-Men: Red #4 (2022) and there’s a few things I want to talk about:
1) Al Ewing made a shout out to The Star lost Saga story arc from New Warriors were Garthan Saal kidnapped Rich and combined their powers to revive the dead Xandarians. It’s the first time Rich got to experience the entirety of the Nova force and it was affecting him really badly. He was given the option of either going insane and become a threat to the universe or letting the power go and reviving the Xandarians but that would mean his death. Obviously Rich chose the latter.
Anyway this already makes Ewing one of the very few modern writers who will acknowledge anything pre-Annihilation when it comes to Rich. I also love that he used that experience in Rich’s life to inform his view on the Krakoan resurrection protocols and Xandra being revived.
2) Going from his talk with Storm in the last page, Rich might become a semi-regular character in X-Men: Red. It’s obvious Ewing really wants to write him and Marvel should just give him Guardians back or a Nova comic.
3) Rich mentioning that he’s still seeing his therapist was important, and I loved reading it.
4) Juann Cabal drawing Rich again ❤️

Storm is staring at the Uranos Trigger Cube as the Eternal still prattles on about deciding whether she could activate to use him as a weapon to fight Genesis (Apocalypse's wife). However, because of his unpredictable destructive nature; Uranos would not only destroy Genesis' army, he would also kill the brainwashed Arakki mutants (e.g. Sobunar, White Sword and so on), turn on Storm's army or even hurt/kill civilians so in other words, Uranos would kill anyone in his path until he stops when he reaches his time limit. Then, Storm is interrupted by Jon Ironfire who wants to activate the Uranos Trigger because his former comrades of Arakko had been swayed to Genesis' side and he needs to use him to win in the war. Storm refuses to let him do it by destroying the Uranos Trigger with her lightning bolt. Jon Ironfire gets upset with her for destroying his chance to use the Eternal weapon for "easy victory" so he walks away in a huff. Sunspot comes in and gives Storm a grim news. According to Sunspot, Nova (Richard Rider) had survived Pestilence's Poison Arrow thanks to the nova force keeping him alive but he is in a lot of pain that he shut himself out and had retreated deep into his mind. Just then, an Arakki mutant interrupts the two mutants by proclaiming that Apocalypse has returned. As Horseman Death reaches out to Apocalypse, he is impressed to hear that his son had not only chose Storm's side, he kept his sense of honor. Even though Death told his father that he killed his sister, Pestilence, he doesn't care about his daughter's death. Though to be fair for Apocalypse, Pestilence nearly killed both Apocalypse and Rictor with her poison arrows back then in 'X of Swords' storyline. Storm approaches Apocalypse and asks if he's not standing with Genesis. Apocalypse replies that he will not stand against Genesis but he won't stand aside either. He says Arakko needs and deserves more than Genesis offers. It needs magic. It needs Storm.
Apocalypse brings Storm to the carved out magic circle where Vulcan, Orc the demon and the hooded figure are. The hooded figure reveals the hood. It's Sunfire! Storm asks if he was able to rescue Redroot and he says more than that. Sunfire has Redroot grown onto his chest and according to him, the Arakki plant mutant has been keeping him alive and if she gets removed, he would die. The mutants in the magic circle represent the elements - Sunfire-Redroot for Earth, Orc the demon represent air, Apocalypse represents water, Vulcan represents fire and lastly, Storm has to be in the center of the magic circle that represents all kinds of elements. Apocalypse pulls Vulcan to the designated spot. Before Vulcan could start yelling on his tirade, Apocalypse starts the magic ritual and Storm channels the magic energy.
Meanwhile, Sobunar and Genesis are on the island watching the battles from afar until they see a giant monster approaching them. The giant monster is Kaorak and also, Storm is riding on it. Looks like shit is going down between Storm and Genesis....
