WIP Wednesday Thursday
Hey everyone, I'm a bit behind but I was tagged by @thequeenofthewinter @ladytanithia and @kookaburra1701 thank you all! I also loved reading your wips <3
Here is the first bit of another elenwen/rikke fic I'm working on because it makes me happy and @dirty-bosmer enjoys it and, really, that's what's most important <3 It is NSFW so it'll be under the cut.
The ambassador is tired, her hands lazily running through the other woman’s hair, the brown locks feeling dry against her golden skin. She’s laying down, it felt good to lay down, her back aching from the trip to Solitude earlier. What felt even better, however, was the feeling of the tongue of the woman between her legs, finally reaching her core. Elenwen’s hips buck against the Legate’s mouth, as her tongue licks her wet folds. The moan that leaves her mouth is careful, quiet, not out of fear of being heard; but rather to give the Nord woman enough praise to keep her coming back.
Their trists always went the same way, the pretense of paperwork that leads into the sheets; following which Rikke claims it’s the last time.
“Oh course Legate” is all the Elenwen responses with, they both know it’s not. Her purposes of crawling into bed with the enemy are simple, first off Skyrim is cold and having a warm body to touch eases the ache in her bones. And the second, more vital reason is warfare. From the Ambassador’s perspective it is not enough to have the Empire sign a treaty, that was the first step. Now the true war can begin.  When it comes to the Imperial Legion, there are few standouts, most of the officials Tullius had employed were full of the same drivel most proud Imperials were full of. Duty, Honour, the asinine belief of their own inherent superiority Elenwen thought. But the Legate she found company with was a breath of fresh, in comparison, She is a dutiful daughter of Skyrim who can look past her own people and think of the good of them all. It was admirable, but more importantly, it was something Elenwen could use.

‘Jurand!’ She ignored his hand and gave him a hug instead. ‘Still…’ She waved a hand at him, trying to find the right words. ‘Juranding, then?’
He respectfully bowed his head. ‘I wouldn’t know how to do anything else.’
‘But with more of…’ And she flicked at the swags of gold braid festooning his uniform. ‘All this.’
‘It has pleased the Lord and Lady Regent to appoint me interim Lord Chamberlain.’
Isern was giving him an approving look-over. ‘You can be lord o’ my interim whenever you please,’ she said.
— The Wisdom of Crowds by Joe Abercrombie
We don't talk about this enough.
Rikke hug! Juranding! Gold braid festoons! Lord Chamberlain! ISERN oh my godddd!!!!

My Top 10 TES Characters
Tagged by @blossom-adventures, thank you! I promise I did not forget about this! I’m replaying Skyrim and filling this out as I go :) I’m seeing a lot of these favorites driven by their angst potential; truly sadistic. But most of these are common favorites because I’m a basic bitch <3
10. Sanguine: Who doesn’t enjoy a god of debauchery? I’m not sure if he has a lot of depth in other games; he feels a little shallow in Skyrim, but he’s the type of character you could have a lot of fun with.
9. Legate Rikke: I have plans for her later on in Telyra’s story. But I love her dedication, her desire to protect Skyrim while battling her conflicting emotions about whether the Empire is correct. It makes me sad whenever she says “Talos be with you” if Ulfric dies and when she refers to him as “old friend.”
8. Sahrotaar: In my fic, Sahrotaar doesn’t die, instead he lives on as Miraak’s companion. There’s bond between a Dragonborn and their dragon, one Miraak will not have to break to escape Apocrypha; I don’t mind spoiling that! I love that Sahrotaar was there for Miraak through his entire imprisonment, and he has his own trauma as a result.
7. Jarl Balgruuf: There’s something endearing about Balgruuf; he’s trying so hard to keep the city safe despite the civil war constantly pushing against Whiterun’s borders. I also see him as being a devoted father, even if we don’t get to see it much in the game; he seems like the type to really try balancing being the Jarl and being a father. His children may be brats, but I just can’t see him being an absent daddy.
6. Odahviing: I haven’t had him make an appearance yet in Telyra’s story, but I will give a spoiler that he does show up eventually! I won’t give further details than that though, so you’ll have to wait to see him and why I love him (or at least my headcanoned version)!
5. Serana: Kind, soft-spoken vampire lady? Yes. And one that’s comfortable with her vampirism despite being so kind-hearted and feels it’s not inherently evil? Extra yes. Her having issues with both of her parents, for vastly different reasons, also really speaks to me. I haven’t done anything with her in fics, but I really should change that.
4. Vilkas: I love a grumpy nerd who’s also a powerful warrior. I love the conflict over the werewolf blood, and I wish the emotional aspect of that was explored a lot more in the game. The physical trauma would be fun to see too. And then the devastation of him losing his father-figure? Beautifully sad.
3. Erik the Slayer: He’s so sweet and adorable; a young kid just looking for adventure, looking to not get stuck following in his father’s footsteps and running an inn. I could see him settling down into it after“retirement,” but that wouldn’t be for a long, long while. And I always headcanoned him as having this unexpected, quiet intelligence; unexpected only because he came from a small town.
2. Brynjolf: I know people gripe about the accent, but I’m too American to know whether it’s accurate or not, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I also love a sneaky, morally questionable man, especially one that’s betrayed by someone he looked up to growing up. And when he thinks your character betrays him and he’s so hurt? YESSSSSS
1. Miraak: I mean, duh, right? I found him such an interesting character, despite having been given an unfairly small amount of screentime. His origins are so fascinating, and the potential for angst is sooooo delicious. Plus, that enemies to lovers trope, even though I don’t explore the “enemies” part so much in my multi-chapter fic.
Tagging @knightdawn, @curiousartemis, @medlilove, @tribunaltempleyouthpastor, @squidaddle, and anyone else!

I had thought it was odd that we were getting so little insight into Rikke and how she was running the north. How the narrative kept telling us how she was failing as a leader, too soft, driving her friends away, but never showing us how. because lack of detail is one thing I would never accuse this series of. I had assumed the storyline had been pared down by the publishers.
but now I see

General Tullius: People ask me how I manage the imperial legion here in Skyrim. General Tullius: The truth is... I don't. General Tullius: Just this morning, Rikke yelled at me, and then I had to console Hadvar who was crying about the family being torn apart.

Just because the mood struck, I’m posing another fic and song!  ^.^ I was reading a stone to break your soul, a song to save it by rikke just the other day.  Ólafur Arnalds, Alice Sara Ott - Reminiscence played on repeat!  Especially towards the end!

One of the things I love about Shivers & Monza is how I ship them more post-BSC than I did during BSC. By the end of BSC, Monza was much more self-aware, she was no longer consumed by a single-minded desire for revenge, and considering that Styria won three wars against the Union afterwards, not to mention how awesome Jappo, Vitari, and Shenkt are in AoM, I think it's fair to assume that Monza is now a highly competent leader. Likewise, Shivers's journey up to AoM is one of forgiveness, he comes to understand himself better and where he fits in the world, and in gaining a daughter-like figure in Rikke he shows that, while he can be a terrifying fighter, he would rather choose peace. He has learned to move forward in a way very few characters do. Both of them have!
Monza & Shivers in BSC were cute and toxic and disturbing. Monza & Shivers in AoM could probably take over the world. What they went through - including their breakup - made them better people.
All this to say, Jappo & Rikke!Parent Trap when?
