Hello friends, I have a new game to play. I'm assured it contains cute woodlands friends, like a frog and an owl.

The name isn't very cute though.

So the game Ring of Pain has an achievement for dieing within 30 seconds of starting a run, and in English it's called "That Was Quick"

However, since my Steam account is in French, even when I play games in English the achievement pop-ups are in French for me, so when I got myself killed in the first room, the pop-up said "petite mort" :

That's NOT what this means and you know this, Ring of Pain translators >_<

if you haven't played Ring of Pain, you need to. I haven't even gotten through all of the game, but the underlying meaning of the game is worth playing for alone. The game is super fun, and every run through is a little different. Rouge like meets card game meets turn based.

I'll elaborate on the themes more when I finish the game, because it's obtuse at first but once you figure out what's going on it's like a whole new thing.

So humblebundle put up a demo for the game Ring of Pain on their site, but I guess whoever was in charge of actually putting it on there had no idea what to do because like

They put up a completely separate store listing, which doesn't even link to the normal listing anywhere. They set the price as one cent, and then gave it a 100% discount for the next 978 years. Surely there's a better way?

on the upside, at least I know I can try this game out at (almost) any point in the next millennium.
