Rehabilitation: Moving Out and Starting Over (6/?)

Side effects may include a loss of self-identity and individuality, frequent nightmares, questioning your own existence, severe mental trauma, constant panic attacks, spontaneous crying at random moments, and a strong desire to stay with loved ones at all cost. Co-written with @violetganache42. Takes place between Chapters 6 and 7 of Arc-V Aftermath.

While the Sakakis (and Yuto) were attending the Faire, Yugo was getting dressed for the day. He was already wearing his Turbo Duel suit and he has finished finger-combing a small amount of gel into his hair. After sweeping his bangs into the usual banana-shaped style, he smiled confidently.

"Alright," Yugo said, looking at his reflection. "My outfit's nice and clean and my hair looks as cool as ever." He winked. "Now to begin my new life with my own body."

It felt like forever since the last time he was at the orphanage, and after the Original Dimension's return, it still looked the same. Of course, the only difference was that his room is now inhabited by a slightly-changed Yugo. His personality remained the same, but his appearance had a single alteration: his eye color had changed from aquamarine to yellow to match Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's eyes. He really liked the different hue his eyes received. He still couldn't believe how clean he looked, which he didn't mind at all; for someone growing up in a low class section of New Domino City, looking cleaner than normal was quite surprising. It's been like this ever since his sleepover with Rin two days ago. Speaking of which, he decided to check in on her to see if she was also done getting ready for the day.

After a few minutes later, Yugo arrived at Rin's room and knocked on the door. "Hey RinRin!" he cheerfully announced. "Ready to pick up where we left off?"

However, a loud sob was heard from behind the door. "...Rin?" Yugo asked. "You alright?"

"Go away!" Rin sobbed. "I don't care who you are, just leave me alone!"

Alarmed, Yugo opened the door. "Rin!" he exclaimed, panicked. "What's wrong?!"

Seeing before his very eyes was Rin lying on her bed, her face hiding on top of her pillow as she cried. He has never seen her so upset before; they now got their bodies back, so what exactly happened to make her depressed?

"Look, if this is about what happened with Ray, I'm sorry," Yugo said, entering Rin's room and sitting next to her. "It's probably gonna take a while for you to recover, but-"

"You don't understand!" Rin sobbed, sitting up to look at Yugo. "I didn't lose just my body! I nearly lost all my memories!"

Yugo was taken back by that outburst. "Your memories?" he asked.

"After losing consciousness in that machine, I thought I might think about all the time we spent together, our happiest memories," Rin explained. "But then...there was this flash of neon green light and..." She choked out a sob. "Everything was gone in an instant. I couldn't remember my name, my identity, or even you. That machine must've erased every single one of my memories and there was nothing I could do to recover them.

"But when Zuzu was revived, everything came back. All of those forgotten memories were instantly recovered. And yet..." Rin choked out another sob. "I'm not sure why I'm like this. Do I duel because I want to, or is it because Ray was a Duelist herself?" She closed her eyes, tears dripping from her eyelashes. "Yugo...what am I?"

She just wasn't sure anymore; learning there are three other girls who share the same face as her was crazy enough, but discovering they were all part of Leo's daughter was actually scary. They nearly got amnesia when they were forcibly fused back into Ray in order to power up ARC-V; if it weren't for Zuzu's revival, they wouldn't have a single clue about their origins in their respective dimensions or their individual identities. Even so, it only delayed the mind merge, which was intensely horrifying because she and her counterparts were nearly wiped away from existence as their minds were merging back into Ray at an alarming rate. They were all lucky everything worked out in the end, but Rin couldn't stop thinking about her identity crisis. All her life, she was but a young teenage girl who grew up as a Commoner and had a tough personality yet saw beauty in everything, but everything changed when Yuri kidnapped her from out of the blue, not long after the Invasion of Heartland City.

Yugo stood up. "Well I'll tell ya what you are," he said. He opened the closet in her room, revealing her numerous outfits. "You're New Domino's resident fashion plate. Sure you couldn't afford the more expensive outfits, but if it was cute and comfortable-looking, you'd buy it." He let out a chuckle. "I know how much you love to shop, but it was kinda why we had to build a Duel Runner from scratch."

What he means by that is they needed to save up enough money to find parts to build their Duel Runner. They didn't had a whole lot of wealth to begin with, but Rin had to put off shopping at the donation center for a little while so that she could help out with searching and purchasing the necessary parts. Prior to Duel Academy's interference with the Doktor's Fusion Parasite, that Duel Runner was the biggest project they did together and he had treasured it ever since it was completed because it was a token of their friendship.

"But that's not all," Yugo continued. He picked up Rin's deck and took out her two Crystal Bells. "You've still got these two cards in your deck."

Rin opened her eyes. "My Crystal Bells?"

"I'm aware that you and the other girls ripped up the Fusion Parasites in your decks," Yugo explained as he sat next to her again. "But while they also ripped up the Fusion cards they got because of those nasty bugs, you didn't. You held on to them."

"Only because they fit so well with my Windwitches," Rin said, smiling slightly.

"Exactly," Yugo said. "That's what makes you different from the other Ray girls. If you see a card that fits with your burn style, you'd tend to keep it, even if it was originally created for evil purposes." He put the cards back in her deck and placed it on her nightstand. "But I'm not done. I can think of a couple more things that make you unique."

"Like what?" Rin asked.

Yugo picked up a hairbrush on Rin's nightstand and started brushing her hair. "You're cute," he said. "Practically the cutest girl I know. You've got big eyes, a sweet voice, and super adorable curls. Not to mention the prettiest giggle I ever heard."

Rin let out a small laugh after hearing that. "Yeah, just like that!" Yugo cheerfully said. "It's those features that make you different compared to your counterparts with longer hair." He finished brushing Rin's hair and placed the hairbrush back on her nightstand. "But most importantly: you're the one I fell in love with."

Rin was taken back by the sudden confession. "You love me?" she asked.

"'Course I do," Yugo answered. "All of those unique traits are what made me fall in love with you. I didn't realize it until I started traveling to different dimension lookin' for you." He held her hands and looked at her straight in the eye. "So as part of our new lives, how would you like to be my girlfriend?"

Rin never knew he felt this way about her ever since he went looking for her. She always felt like the two were childhood friends, but it looks like there might be more to their relationship. Sure Yugo may be loud, rude, and quick-tempered with a bit of perverted tendencies, but he’s loyal, energetic, goofy or cute at times, and an overall kind person at heart. Smiling softly, she planted a kiss on his forehead, feeling his blonde bangs on her lips. His eyes widened in joy from the brief contact.

"Of course, you moron," Rin said. "I'll be your girlfriend."

"Great!" Yugo said, sounding happier than usual. "Now how 'bout you get dressed and meet me in my room? I've got a huge surprise I wanna show you."

As he left her room to go back to his, Rin went to her closet to pick out new attire; she wore her usual one for a while and wanted to try out another one for a change. She settled on a short-sleeved, knee-length, light blue dress with pink linings on the sleeves, shoulders, and from the center of her chest to the collar line where the gold buttons were, pink pockets located where each breast was, and a pink string bow with two gold beads around the waist. She also sported a pair of black low-heeled sandals and a pink flower hair clip that she has ever since she was a child.

Upon arriving at Yugo's room, Rin was surprised to see a lot of numerous boxes in his room. "Uh... Yugo?" the Windwitch user asked. "What's with all the boxes?"

"I'll tell ya why," Yugo explained. He held up a booklet. "There's this old clock shop in New Domino called Poppo Time and right next to it is an unoccupied apartment-slash-garage." He pointed at a building next to the clock shop. "That, RinRin, is gonna be our new home."

"New home?" Rin asked. "Does that mean...?"

"Exactly," Yugo said. "We're finally movin' out and gettin' our own home!"

Rin never expected that day to come; heck, she never thought about it at all. She enjoyed living in the orphanage all her life, but the fact they can now move to a new home in the Commons was surprising news. They can finally have their own individual spaces in Poppo Time's apartment and use the garage for Duel Runner constructions, tests, and repairs.

However, Rin looked at the booklet. Her eyes widened when she saw the price. "20,000 yen?!" she read. "Yugo, we're broke! We don't have that much money!"

"I know," Yugo said. "But I made some new friends while I searched for you. There were some people like Aster Phoenix and Kite Tenjo, but the guy we're gonna see should help us provide the money we need to live at the place."

Rin was a little curious as to what he's referring to, but before she knew it, she was running out the door with Yugo, who was heading to the nearest bus stop from the orphanage. "Where are we going?" she asked.

"The Leo Institute," Yugo answered. "There's a guy there named Sylvio Sawatari. I met him during the Friendship Cup. He's a great guy. Super hilarious too. He's a Dueltainer like Yuya. I was hoping he could provide us with the money we need for our new home."

"You sure?" Rin asked.

"'Course I'm sure," Yugo insisted. "Yuya told me Sylvio comes from a wealthy family, so I was hoping he could give us enough yen to cover the payment."

One bus trip later, the two arrived in the Paradise section of the mashed-up city. This was Rin's official first time being in what was originally known as Paradise City; she does have a good idea on where certain places are located in this town, but that was because her soul was in Zuzu's body prior to the blood separation. Yugo only went there a couple times to try and find his girlfriend, only for him to run into and duel Yuto and stumble across Zuzu the next day before being whisked back into the Synchro Dimension. Fused or not, they both knew where LID was thanks to the preparations made for the night of the Heartland Duel School students' dance do-over.

Upon entering the Leo Institute, Yugo didn't hesitate to call out to his friend. "Hey Sylvio! I need to speak to you!"

Rin noticed how large the institute was. "I don't think it'll be that easy to find him-"

"Yugo? Is that you?"

The Synchro couple turned around to see Sylvio appearing from around the corner as he walked down the hallway. His eyes caught onto Yugo's and couldn't believe that his friend was standing right before him. The short amount of processing left him overjoyed as he ran over to him to give him a huge hug.

"Whoa there," Yugo said. "I know we're buds, but you didn't have to hug me."

"Oh Yugo!" Sylvio exclaimed, still hugging the Speedroid user. "You're alright!"

"Uh... Yeah, I'm alright," Yugo said, pushing his excited friend back. "But what's with the behavior? I haven't seen you this happy before."

"You don't remember?" Sylvio asked. "I dueled Zarc on your behalf! Granted I wanted to save Yuya too, but saving you was more important! You're the only Duelist I met who is worthy to be my equal, and I was willing to do anything to save you."

"You... You actually fought for me?" Yugo asked, tears forming in his eyes. He never thought that anyone wanted to save him from Zarc's clutches. His soul was absorbed into Yuri's body as he completely fell into the ever-growing darkness, as seen when he and Yuto pressured Yuya to reunite as one again; despite some signs of resistance from the latters, Yuri's defeat signaled the start of their incarnation's return. Seeing someone pursuing their mission to try and rescue the Synchro user from the strings of manipulative, corrupt darkness that he bore like a puppet was a touching moment for him to learn.

"Of course I fought for you," Sylvio answered. "Especially since we are long due for a rematch."

"A rematch?" Rin asked.

"We faced off against each other," Yugo explained. "And we ended up bonding during the duel."

"But enough about strolling down memory lane," Sylvio said. "What brings you and your girlfriend here?"

"It's because of this," Yugo answered, showing Sylvio the booklet. "I wanna move in there with Rin as a way of celebrating our new lives with our bodies back."

Sylvio looked at the place in the booklet. "Only 20,000 yen?" he asked. "I'll be more than happy to provide the money, but why that location? It looks old."

"I dunno," Yugo admitted. "But when I saw this place..." He pointed at the apartment/garage next to Poppo Time. "...I got this weird feeling in me, almost like I had to live there."

Yugo couldn't describe it in words, but he felt like there was a nagging voice in his head telling him to move to Poppo Time for a very good reason. These strange memories started to flow through his mind about this place, but there were far different experiences occurring. He remembered seeing Jack and Crow living with him…or more specifically, an alternate version of him. But was it really him? He looked much older with tanned skin and different hair. And what was with the criminal mark on his face?

"So that's why I'm totally revved up to move there," Yugo continued. "And I can't move in alone. I've gotta bring RinRin with me." He put his hand on her waist and pulled her close to him. "She's my girl."

"Well if you insist..." Sylvio said. He took out his wallet and gave Yugo 20,000 yen. "This should be enough to give the landlord.”

"Aw, thanks Sylvio!" Yugo cheerfully said. "You're the best!"

Some time later, Yugo and Rin returned to the Commons to talk to the owner of the shop. For two people who have spent their lives growing up in the lower class section of New Domino City, they have never been to Poppo Time. Fortunately, the booklet did provide information about the place; it was located in front of a dirt road which harbored other small shops and businesses and it is owned by a woman named Zora, a widow whose son Lyndon also works there.

Upon arriving at the clock shop, Yugo and Rin spoke to Zora about living arrangements. "I see," the widow said when the Synchro counterparts finished explaining. "So you wish to move out of the local orphanage and live next door."

"That's exactly what our plan is," Yugo said. He brought out the yen Sylvio gave him. "I even have the exact money needed for payment."

Zora accepted the yen and checked it. "This is exactly 20,000 yen," she remarked. "And I do like that confident look in your eyes. Of course you and your girlfriend can live here."

"Thank you so much," Rin said, bowing out of respect.

"But I do expect you two to work at the shop from time to time," Zora continued. "If you're going to live here, you're going to need money. I can't have two poor orphans living next door, so how do you feel about starting at 300 yen per hour?"

"Sure," Yugo agreed. "At least it's somethin'."

Of course, they would need to find a nice balance between work, living at home, and working in the garage, but if they work a decent number of hours each week, they'll be making a sufficient amount of money.

And so, with the payment completed, Yugo asked Aster Phoenix and Kite Tenjo to help him and Rin move their stuff to their new home. They all used their monsters to carry all the boxes out of their rooms and into the new ones they're moving into. Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, Windwitch - Winter Bell, and Galaxy Eyes Cipher Dragon all flew at a steady pace with neatly piled of boxes on each of the wings and tails whereas Destiny HERO - Dystopia glided past them while carrying a stack in his hands with ease, shocking them in the process.

While that was going on, Yugo smiled wide at his and Rin's new home. "I can't believe it, RinRin," he said. "It's a brand new chapter of our lives."

"I know," Rin agreed. "Sure the chances of another Friendship Cup happening are slim, but at least we'll make progress together."

"Not to mention all the new memories we'll make," Yugo said. "Just you, me, Bruno-" His eyes widened in shock.

"Bruno?" Rin asked. "Who's Bruno?"

Yugo had no idea what he was talking about, but at the same time, he did. He has never heard of or even know about this Bruno person, yet he still had this strange feeling within him that he has met him before. Maybe in another life? That must be the case because these memories he was suddenly remembering weren't his to begin with. In fact, he started recalling on a life-changing duel somewhere in space. From what he was witnessing, Bruno was an android replica of a younger Antinomy, a former pro Turbo Duelist known as Johnny who was one of the four remaining humans in an apocalyptic world who wanted creating a better future for humanity.

Yugo saw through the eyes of what may be his alternate self in a Death Course, a Turbo Duel circuit where the loser is killed; in this case, the Turbo Duelist who loses will be sucked into a black hole that was made as a result of Antinomy's Delta Accel Synchro Summon. He managed to win the duel, but the black hole was creeping closer. Antinomy's Duel Runner—Delta Eagle—was barely maintaining control and has a cut on his face from one of its pieces. He bowed his head with his eyes closed as he spoke.

"I ended up meeting you under such circumstances… Because of that, I never got to know you as a true friend," he said.

"Antinomy! No, Bruno!" Yugo's alternate self exclaimed in an odd voice, causing the latter to look up in surprise. "You're one of us: Team 5D's." He extended his arm out with his hand making a fist. "And you're my friend, Bruno!"

Bruno was left speechless by those words as he looked at the fist. "Friend…? Do you really think of me as your friend, Yusei?"

Yusei? That's what his name was in his other life? Yugo's curiosity grew into realization because it would explain why he was suddenly having these memories on moving day. At the same time, Yusei nodded in response to the question he was asked.

"Your friend, huh…?" Bruno stated before closing his eyes and recalling on all the times he spent with Team 5D's, ranging from hanging out to the Turbo Duels at the World Racing Grand Prix. "I loved being around you all and watching you fight with everyone." He opened his eyes again. "During that time, I felt your infinite strength and potential!"

"Bruno…" Yusei said. Just then, Delta Eagle suffered another partial explosion and started to slow down. Reaching his hand out, he yelled, "Bruno! Jump over to me! Hurry!"

With a simple stare, Bruno answered, "That would be useless." This shocked Yusei and Yugo; was he doing what they think he was doing? "I told you before. The only way to reach the end of this course is for one of us to be destroyed."

"Bruno!" Yusei called out as Delta Eagle continued slowing down.

A smile appeared on Bruno's face. "The short time I spent with you guys was really fun."

Yusei had a worried look on his face because he feared of what his friend might do. "Bruno!"

Within a matter of a few seconds, Bruno sped the smoking Delta Eagle up towards Yusei's Duel Runner. "What are you about to do, Bruno?!"

"Yusei! You're my hope! Grab the light beyond Accel Synchro! Grab that light and open the future!!" With widened eyes, Yusei heard these last two words from his close friend, who threw off his helmet: "GO!! YUSEI!!"

With that, Delta Eagle accelerated and both Duel Runners collided, sending them off rapidly in a beam of white light. Electricity sparked all over Delta Eagle as it malfunctioned and severely worsened its damage, followed by stronger explosions from the front. It dramatically slowed down as Yusei's Duel Runner ricocheted away.

"Bruno! Bruno!!" Yusei shouted.

Bruno smiled again. Yusei… he thought to himself before being gulfed in smoke and falling back.

"BRUNO!!"

Back at the Divine Temple, a circle of white light opened up as Yusei dashed out of it and fell out of his fumbling Duel Runner, rolling a couple times on the floor. An illuminated gear faded as the floor grew dark; one of the Planetary Gears was deactivated. Yusei got up to see where the light was before spotting a broken visor on the floor, stunning him and Yugo in disbelief. An image of Bruno in his standard attire faded in through the lens; he had sacrificed himself in order for his companion to save the world and the future. Yusei clenched his right fist as his eyebrows quivered, with tears welling up in his shut eyes and streaming down his face a little before opening them halfway.

"Bruno… BRUNO!!"

"Are you alright?" Aster asked.

Yugo opened his eyes, surprised and confused. He was back in the real world, but his friends and girlfriend were looking at him in concern. But what was that vision? How could he have been this Yusei person and Zarc? Regardless, he shrugged it off, thinking it was nothing more than a silly vision.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Yugo lied.

"You were screaming about someone named Bruno," Kite pointed out. "That doesn't sound fine."

So…it wasn't a silly vision? Yugo was actually remembering this Yusei person's memories? Out of all the moments for this to be happening, why did it have to be moving day?

Rin looked at the apartment/garage. "This is a big place," she commented. "What if we asked Crow and Shinji to move in with us? We could use the extra company."

"No way!" Yugo blurted out. "We can't ask Sylvio for 40,000 extra yen! I know he's a nice guy, but I hate takin' advantage of him."

"No need," Aster said, taking out his Duel Academy student points card. "My time as an Obelisk Force commander earned me a lot of student points. I'll convert them into cash for your friends."

"Aw, thanks Aster!" Yugo said. "Now we just have to ask Crow and Shinji if they want to move in."

All Duel Academy students were required to have special cards which were similar to debit cards, except instead of depositing money into them, they receive points and are immediately transferred into their cards. By converting them into cash, they were permitted to treat them similarly to debit cards; for Aster, it was one of the many perks of being a high-ranked Obelisk Force commander because he has plenty of points that can be converted to over 40,000 yen, meaning it was more than enough to cover the cost of Crow and Shinji living with Yugo and Rin.

Once the group and their ace monsters were finished bringing the boxes over to the apartment, Yugo and Rin needed to figure out where Crow and Shinji lived. If they remembered correctly, they have been staying at their hideout alongside Frank, Tanner, and Amanda, but where was that even located? How will the children react to learning about this news?

"Oh crud!" Yugo realized. "I forgot Crow has a bunch of kids to look after!"

This was a setback he didn't even thought about. There were times where he occasionally headed down the street where Crow lived and saw him taking care of the three children; he always had a huge soft spot for children and always loved and cared about them. How were Yugo and Rin going to get roommates now since Crow was basically a foster-father to Frank, Tanner, and Amanda?

"Yeah, you're right," Rin said. "But while you were in that weird trance, I think I heard you mentioning Crow. I thought having him as a roommate would help calm you down."

"Don't worry about it," Aster said. "Just leave everything to me."

Yugo and Rin turned to stare at Aster; how does he know what he's doing? Didn't Duel Academy students and Obelisk Force soldiers have information about only the XYZ residence? The only one who had a strong idea about the Synchro residence was Jean-Michel Roget and he was currently missing after the disbandment of the High Council…not that the duo knew about it for obvious reasons. Still, how was Aster going to help them?

"What are you thinkin' about?" Yugo asked.

"Well with you two moving out of the orphanage, that means new rooms are available," Aster pointed out. "Wouldn't it make sense for three homeless orphans to occupy those rooms?"

That was actually a pretty good idea. They grew up without a home prior to Crow taking care of them, so maybe moving to the orphanage can have them make more friends and still have the basic survival necessities: a roof over their heads, beds to sleep on, food and beverages to eat and drink, clothes to wear, and so on. They were clearly going to miss Crow, but they'll surely come up with a plan for them to still keep in touch.

"So this is gonna be our new path," Yugo said. "Livin' with a couple of roommates in our new home."

"Of course," Rin agreed. She held Yugo's hand, intertwining their fingers together. "And the best part is that we'll do this together."

Yugo nodded in agreement to what Rin just stated. They were happy to know that they can finally move into a place of their own, and with Crow and Shinji moving in, they'll have two new friends to get to know more about as they bond through duels and mechanics. Maybe it was for the best that they ultimately settled with this decision; Frank, Tanner, and Amanda may be children right now, but they were still growing up, so if they agree to live in the orphanage, the Synchro counterparts will be able to create new memories and preserve the past ones.

Imagine after the ending rather than the four Yuus splitting apart or sharing a body--they gradually just fade away to become Zarc in Yuya's body. :D /rip

Lmao u inspired me bro. I hope you don’t mind................. I wrote a quick fic......................:

He awoke in a vaguely familiar room, more like somewhere he’d seen in a dream before.

Or rather, perhaps it was a dream?

He must have been lucid as his senses were in full, functioning order and as he muttered softly Where is this? to himself, he recognized his own voice, thankfully undistorted like it usually was in most of his nightmares but oddly younger-sounding.

The view from the window of the room he found himself in painted a picture of a city bright and bustling and booming, but ultimately lacking in lavishness and extravagant technological marvels that he was used to seeing cradled sky high in the city he grew up in. Sure, the city in this dream was colorful and lively, but kind of a let down from his mind’s creativity.

The room was different than the one he actually lived in too; this room was full of posters of a man in a magician’s suit, laughing and smiling proudly alongside what was presumably his ace monster- a magician as well. In fact, the decor in the room consisted of nothing but pictures of this man and his monster, a few circus props, and a clock with the monster’s image as its background.

He noticed one more thing out of the corner of his eye- a mirror. Not sure why, but the next thought that crossed his mind was Wait, can I see myself in the mirror here? I mean, it is a dream, after all... He took it upon himself to walk over and sate his curiosity without hesitation, but what he saw staring back at him through that mirror wasn’t something he expected.

Or rather someone he expected.

The person looking back at him, reflecting back at him, mirroring his every movement from the thin piece of glass was a young boy. Sure this projection kept his same face- for the most part: his eyes weren’t red in real life, they were gold- but pretty much everything else about it was unlike him. This image showed he inhabited a younger body with red hair and green bangs and was still apparently going through early puberty. Strange enough as it was, he didn’t feel all that uncomfortable staring back at his dream self. Guess I should get used to this look til I wake up.

He walked back towards the other side of the room where a desk resided beside the window. There resting atop it he found a duel disk, a deck, and a bright pendant eagerly shining back light caught on it from the rays of sunshine entering the room. The duel disk and deck I get, but what’s with the pendant? Kinda weird... He placed the red disk upon his left arm and slid the deck into one of his green pant’s pockets for safe-keeping. The shinning pendant wasn’t something he’d need in a dream so he left the room without it.

Outside he found his imagination was frustratingly dull. This dream world had no convenient moving sidewalks or hover cars he could use like in his real world. At the very least his lucid-dreaming brain was doing wonders in simulating the feeling of a magnificent breeze flowing by him and grazing his dream-crimson strands.

Alright, let’s see if I’m as good as dueling in my dreams as I am in real life.

The next thing he knew he found himself dueling four people in a row who he knew he’d seen somewhere before. Guess it’s true what they say about people in your dreams- they’re all based on faces you’ve seen that you can never forget.

His dream didn’t stop getting weirder from there.

After sliding his deck into the duel disk’s slot and drawing his first five cards, he noticed the cards weren’t even his. These cards were all dark-themed and shared the “Phantom” name in common. He shrugged the feeling of surprise off rather easily. This is just a dream, after all, he thought and continued playing along with his somewhat frustrated, XYZ-monsters-wielding opponent.

He continued to think nothing of it until he’d defeated him and the stranger held out a hand to congratulate him begrudgingly and calling him “Yuto.”

Yuto? Uh...

Again, this was just a dream, so of course he accepted the moniker and moved onto to his next opponent.

This time, a young, rather muscular-for-his-age man challenged him to a duel and the deck he inserted into his disk was shuffled away. When he drew his new set of initial cards, his brain surprised him once more. Speedroid? It looked like a fun set of cards, and he smiled away into action, soon enough enjoying his victory over this Synchro-muscular man who referred to him as “Yugo.”

Yugo? Well that’s kinda a funny name...

His next dream-easy victory came after defeating an even younger and lighter, though somewhat bashful, looking kid with a knack for keeping an endless amount of sweets in his pockets. The deck that his brain had shuffled for him this time was one based off of plants and called something menacing like “PredatorPlants” or “Predaplants” for short. Biting away at his loss on a giant loli, the Fusion-enthusiast kid turned away from him spouting obscenities and promising him he’d beat him- “Yuri”- next time.

Yuri? Sounds a bit creepy...

Finally, his last opponent seemed to be the most cocky character his imagination could come up with yet. The blond, self-proclaimed “pendulum pioneer” wound up being even less of a challenge than the ones before him claimed to be. For all his talk, he didn’t take his defeat well, crying and howling and pouting and cursing his name- “Sakaki Yuuya!”

It was strange how that, of all the names from this dream, seemed the most familiar to him out of all of them. Still, he didn’t think much more of it and decided to head back to the room he’d woken up in earlier that dream.

How does one end a lucid dream? I think I should wake up now...

When he arrived, he remembered he’d heard tell that in order to wake up from a lucid dream, one’s best bet would be to fall asleep in that dream world. He laid down on the bed, finding comfort on his side facing towards the desk from earlier.

The pendant he’d abandoned earlier still held out its shine even now that the dream day had turned into night. He stared at it endlessly until sleep took over his wakefulness, completely drowning out any more possible remaining illusions his brain attempted to introduce him to.

Zarc woke up in the same room he had the day before, except for this time, everything he saw before him laid out felt way too familiar to him. Uncomfortably familiar.

Looking outside through his window he saw the same city he didn’t recognize yesterday but knew he knew the streets of by heart.

The deck he used yesterday now shuffled out only certain types of cards- “Supreme King” cards, to be exact- none of which he’d used the day before but that he of course already preferred.

His mirror reflected the same person he was before- thankfully. It’s what he expected to see. Reds and greens all where they were supposed to be on his person.

Walking back to his desk, he realized the pendent- a pendulum- remained shinning, pointing in his direction like a compass. Embracing it in a closed hand, he glanced back towards the mirror and poured the string around his neck. The shine from the pendant broke free and dulled out and Zarc took it into his palm once more as he saw a glimmer of tears pouring out slowly from his reflecting red eyes.

Yuto... Yugo... Yuri... Yuya...

It’s... It’s no dream...

We really are one once again....

yu / bracelet swap au?

i saw @authoratmidnight‘s post about an au where the yu boys and bracelet girls swap roles and got REALLY inspired by the idea so I drafted up a list of events and how things will go down? idk. uhh if you have any ideas for how something should work lmk. otherwise enjoy

Bracelet / Yu swap au:

⁃ instead of bracelets, the boys have pendulums. yuri's is purple, yugo's is green, yuto's is black, and yuya's is light blue. ⁃ yuya wears his around his neck, and so does yuri (except yuri's is tucked under his uniform shirt). Yugo carries his in his pocket and yuto wraps his around his wrist. ⁃ girls have en monsters. same aces, but they're "en insert name" ⁃ yuya still discovers pendulum. yeah ⁃ yuya & yuzu are still childhood friends; their story is essentially the same, except yuya goes missing during the battle royale instead of yuzu. ⁃ rin is traveling dimensions via en snowbell to find yugo. ⁃ ruri and shun traveled standard to find yuto, who went missing. (sorry yoot u never get screentime) ⁃ when yuzu and yuya split to find sora, yuzu runs into ruri, then rin arrives. this leads to a rin-ruri-yuzu duel. yuzu absorbs ruri's spirit, and yuya finds her passed out in the park. ⁃ yuri arrives in standard. he's run away from fusion to find answers, and he believes reiji has them. serena is chasing yuri to bring him back. her and dennis teamed up to track down yugo and yuto. ⁃ yuya and yuri swap clothes?? idk. yuya possibly tries to get yuri to talk to shun so yuri can get answers, and offers himself up as bait to distract serena and dennis (who've come to take back yuri) ⁃ yuzu awakens "berserk" mode in the battle royale instead of mcs. she sees people turned into cards and ruri (who's inside of her) loses it. ⁃ during the battle royale, yuya runs into rin, while avoiding serena and dennis. rin mistakes him for yugo, then yuya's pendulum transports them to synchro when serena tracks them down. ⁃ yuya and rin wind up in synchro, then are chased by a duel chaser. afterwards, yuya and rin enter the friendship cup together. ⁃ yuzu and yuri join the lancers. everyone thinks he's yuya (except dennis obv) and reiji's gotta just "no. no he's not" ⁃ events play out the same, there's no smiles / food debate between yuya and crow. instead u get yuri being snarky and pissing crow off. ⁃ prision arc is the same, yuzu is separated like serena was. ⁃ meet roget. everything follows suit. ⁃ yuya loses to seregey and is rescued by sora. he's out for a while, and when he wakes up, crow's kids find him. eventually he's saved by sora (again) and tsukikage, then moved underground with the kids. ⁃ rin and yuzu synchronize! ⁃ yuri loses to rin, gets sent underground, and then gets taken by security. they spray him with the paralyzer. but consider. he's just screaming "fuck you, fuck this" the whole time imo. ⁃ yuzu's focused on yuya possibly dying, sees sora holding up his helmet, and meets him after. yuzu gets captured to save sora. ⁃ roget puts the shocker in yuzu's helmet. it's like aoi from vrains. and yuya senses it. his pendulum starts blinking. ⁃ that thing. in the train station. yuzu vs barett. yuri gets sent back, but not before cursing barett out, he actually tries to get up, and then tells barett to rot in hell before going back. ⁃ rin arrives and duels serena. the girls go berserk ⁃ yuya rushes in, his pendulum sends rin and serena away, and he hugs yuzu. ⁃ im considering having him tag duel w/ yuzu here? they both lose and yuya's taken by seregey. ⁃ Yuzu faces jack atlas. the portal thing happens. yuzu goes to xyz and yuya goes to fusion ⁃ xyz arc. yuzu & gogenzaka vs kaito. consider. nothing changes except allen & sayaka reveal yuto's dissapearance, and yuzu reveals ruri. ⁃ fusion time bitch. ⁃ yuya meets asuka! and his dad! ⁃ yuya and askua watch serena defeat 6 people. rin comes! ⁃ yuya, yushou, asuka, and rin prepare to depart for 'academia'. yuya runs off with rin when he sees yuzu, and the ship leaves without him. rin is transported away by the pendulum. ⁃ yuri finds them at the docks with the pirate ship! ⁃ yuri then takes yuya. ⁃ yuzu takes on the captian. it ends up w/ her winning. u go yuzu ⁃ reiji and company come, they go to academia ⁃ rin vs brainwashed yugo. im not sure who would win? possibly yugo? ⁃ shun vs brainwashed yuto. yuto wins. ⁃ ruri and yuzu vs yuri and yuto. the girls win. ⁃ that thing where yuya ran into the professor and saw the brainwashed girls. that but yuzu w/ the boys. ⁃ yuzu sees brainwashed yuya. v emotional. rip ⁃ kaito and shun find screaming yuzu ⁃ yuzu sees yushou?? thinks he can snap the brainwashed yuya out of if? ⁃ i might throw away the yuzu & reiji vs leo duel bc its unessecary? idk. i dont want the sword thing happening to yuzu so if i do the duel it'll end in a draw imo. ⁃ serena vs rin. its swexy. no ed and kaito, but she beats sora before hand ⁃ leo has the boys. that scene w/ all the girls in tubes but it's the boys. ⁃ serena ft rin trying to fight back vs ruri and yuzu. yuzu wins, absorbing them all. ⁃ ray awakens. ⁃ in the past, ray absorbed zarc's darkness, and sealed her "true self" away in the pendulums and sent them with zarc, in hopes he could save her one day. ⁃ the boys revive as zarc. zarc defeats ray, and this kills all the counterparts. ⁃ leo belived the boys and the pendulums were the key to ray's revival. he thought merging them together in arc v would bring back ray? i need to hammer this part out. ⁃ zarc summons the boys as the dragons, the dragons attack ray? or the pendulums were en cards and zarc uses en cards?? not sure how to end it. ⁃ hmmm. either way all the counterparts die and leo goes to jail. ⁃ god this is so LONG

An All Day Eatery

“Can you still believe they went that far just for this one thing?” “Yea… Despite being stupid and pretty much unneeded.” “But, they still look peaceful sleeping together…” “Yea… Looking peaceful as two pregnant males with food babies.” Both Kris and Philomena stared at their two male friends sleeping peacefully on the couch, heads next to each other. The sight seemed like two best friends sleeping together, the only difference being their guts. Normally slim stomachs underneath their shirts wasn’t available to the eyes of the girls as two sets of nearly looking 9 month pregnant bellies with twins, their shirts raised up which exposed the navel. The sounds of digesting food and tired groans echoed through the room admist popped buttons and unbuckled belts. Kris sighed joyfully while Philomena just…stared with no expression at all, seemly bored at the sight yet still there staring. “I-I-Is it weird I want to rub their bellies so badly?” “…I don’t think so… You can be my guest though.” Kris giggled quietly as she tiptoed towards them and got in between their heads and placed both hands on Dylans’, making sure his head laid on her lap, making space as if Philomena was going to sit next. Philomena sighed tiredly but sat anyway, taking Terrys’ head and doing the same as Kris. Though the two were sleeping, groans of pleasure and enjoyment echoed from the two. “Wow… They seem to be having a nice dream huh?” “Yea, it’s so adorable…” “Kris, you’re nose is bleeding…” “I know, but it’s so ‘Cute’ isn’t it?” “Sure… If that’s what you say… How long as it been?” “About a couple of hours… Why?” “It has been that long since they accepted it huh?” “Yea…” “A good 3 hours…”

3 Hours Ago “Dylan!!!! DYLAN DYLAN DYLAN DDDDDDDDYLLLLLAAAAANNNNNNNNNN!!!!” “…Yes Terry?” Dylan looked in annoyance as Terry came running up like a small child, easily excited by a single sheet of paper in his hand. “Lookatthisitssoamazingweshouldtotallyenterthisitcanbeamazing!!!” “Whoa whoa Terry. Calm down, what are you trying to say?” “Ok ok! Calming down… Look at this paper! Look at it!” Dylan took the paper from Terrys’ hands and looked it over reading a title that said “CAN YOU STOMACH THIS?! To celebrate the new opening of our all you can eat buffet place, all food here for anyone coming is FREE for today and only today! What’s keeping you away from this, JOIN THE FUNNNNN!!!” Underneath it was the name of the location and its address, which read 'The Mightiest Food Buffet’ located at 26 Yugo Street. Dylan just stared at the paper with a 'really?’ expression as Terry jumped up and down in pure excitement. “And you’re showing me this why?” “Becauseeeeee… We should do that, but, as like a contest!” “A contest?” “Yea a contest! To see who can pack in the most food obviously! Doesn’t it sound fun?!” Dylan would had said no to his best friend, but the idea of it sounded a bit intriguing. “I guess it sounds kinda cool…” “So you’ll do it with me?!” “Sure… I guess…” “YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!” Terry bounced around joyfully as Dylan sighed, a tired smile on his face. “Before we leave he’ll already be tired…”

On The Streets “There it is!!! The place of dreams…” “I wouldn’t call it all that…” The two stood in front of the large resturant place, a long banner waving reading “ALL MEALS ARE FREE!!!” Terry basically was drooling at the sight of it. Dylan, although not drooling, found himself smiling at it as well, the banner practically an invite. The two walked in greeted by the sounds of bustling people and near quiet chatter as people were already sitting down plates filled with delicious food. “Oh god… So much food!!!” “First lets sit.” Dylan lead Terry towards an empty booth to sit to at least go over the plan. “Alright… The idea for this is that we gather as much food as we can and eat as much as we can. We’ll keep this up until either one of us or both can’t continue on.” “Ok… But what about the other patrons?” “Well since there isn’t alot, we can eat as much as we can!” “Ok… But what about the girls? Won’t they notice us if they possibly pass by?” “Aw please, the thought of them coming by here is a 1% chance! Now stop asking and lets get it on!” Dylan would have asked more but Terry was already up and about, going over to where the food and drinks were. Dylan chuckled as he followed ahead, getting a big amount of food before heading back to where Terry was with his food and once there, began digging in. Both of them ate at a considerably fast rate, enjoying all that came in. Hot dogs, rice balls, and sausage octopi entered, going straight towards their bellies. Once their plates were cleaned, the two of them went back and continued on, bowls of ramen next to them. The two were able to keep it quiet so that they wouldn’t disturb the others, noise level down at a nice rate. Once finished, both boys laid back, hands planted on their stomachs, taking on a bit of a considerable bulging shape. “Mmmm… This is so good.” “Heh yea… But to be honest… I’m starting to get a bit full…” “Mmmm nah.. We still got some room left.” Terry got up with his plate and proceeded to get more food. Dylan although hesitant, followed in pursuit. The two kept at it, eating more and more, filling their bellies up. Both stomachs were attempting to keep up, expanding out. The constant rate of food pushed forward against, straining their shirts with them, soon revealing silver linings of flesh. Another couple of minutes in and the boys were leaning back, hands placed on their now starting to round out guts, which were starting to make noise in order to digest. “Ngh… Belly is starting to hurt… But, I think I got some room left in me, how about you Dylan?” “Uhhhh… Yea I think so…*Burp* Heh… Excuse me.” Dylan struggled a bit to get up, but managed to while grabbing his plate and going back, Terry following behind. The two got more food and dug in, a bit more slowly. Entering in, their stomachs expanded further, shirts starting to rise up, part of the navel revealing itself. As they got more, more of their flesh starting showing as their shirts rose up even further, more groans and rumbles resonating from their taunt bellies. Later on the two were starting to sweat a bit, getting tired before leaning back once more, guts at a considerable roundish rate. Dylan patted his stomach a bit, now pushing against button and belt. Terrys was the the same rate maybe a bit bigger than Dylans but as far as it went, no body was keeping score. “…Uh Terry?” “Yea?” “M-Maybe we should stop… You know before we’ll have to explain to the girls about the ripped pants and popped, unbuckled buttons and belts…” “…I don’t know… Can’t we keep on for another couple of minutes?” “Really Terry?” “…. Please?” Terry looked up at Dylan with puppy dog eyes, the older male eyes looked in annoyance before sighing in defeat. “Fine… We’ll continue on but then we’re stopping, ok?” “Ok ok:)” The two of them got up, their walks nearly being reduced to a heartfelt shuffle near waddle as they made their way back towards the buffet and back towards their table, digging into their food again. Their stomachs groaned as they pushed again, clear strain being made as creaking could be heard. The two struggled to keep going as their bellies cried out for them to stop. As they were almost finished, Dylan abruptly paused as he leaned back, which caused Terry to look up. “Dylan? You ok?” “Y-yea j-j-j-just fighting a… *BRAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!*” Dylan was suddenly stopped by a loud burp from his stomach, leading it to quivering before settling down, belly still pushed against his pants. Terry looked up in amazement and even a few patrons looked towards them in disbelief, giving Dylan a light blush on his face as he sheepishly laughed. “Hehehe… S-s-sorry bout that… 'POP!SNAP!��” Dylan’s blush grew darker as his button popped back and his belt snapped, leaving his belly free to accompany more room. “Ah c-crap… This is what I was worried about…” “Awwwww… Your lucky Dylan!” “How is this lucky?” “Because that means you’re winning! I need to catch up!!!” Dylan looked at him with a “What?” Face as Terry suddenly got the motivation he needed to eat faster, which caused his belly to push out again, grumbling and moaning from the amounts that was being pushed in. Meanwhile Dylan was busy trying to push his belt and button back into place, only to be met with the same result of them being pushed apart again until Dylan just gave up. Dylan’s stomach was perfectly squishy and round, navel poking out as sounds of the digested food gurgled throughout the restaurant, its likeness that of a 7-month pregnant belly, all is weight on his legs. But Terry paid no heed, still eating until all his portion was gone. His stomach was now past its normal limit, the same creaking sound of his button creaking as well, shirt now no longer able to be pushed back down. Terry was still determined as he struggled to get up before taking his plate and Dylan’s again for more at the buffett stand. Dylan was too distracted to notice up until he saw his plate filled with food on his mat as Terry was busy digging in. Dylan’s face turned green at the sight and as much as he wanted not to, he knew he couldn’t argue with Terry on this, especially when he was this determined to complete this act, so he dug in, albeit slower than Terry. Pain rumbles filled the air as their stomachs slowly stretched and rounded out, hitting the rims of the table with their flesh. Finally… 'SNAP!POP!’ Terrys pants belt and button finally popped off and apart, except instead of celebrating, Terry was instead green and sick, his stomach pleads made clear as his head was laid on the table now. “Huff…Huff… T-T-Terry… I think that’s…. 'BRAPP!’ E-enough…” “Hic! Y-yea… I think that’s g-'BURRRRRPPPPP!!!’ Good… Ugh…” Dylan nodded slowly as he straightened up and attempted to get up, getting stuck but managing to get out, stumbling before catching his balance. His belly stuck out and gurgled as his pants tried to slip down, his hand catching them to hold them up before going to help Terry. “O-ok Terry… Hold on… One.. Two..” Both grunted before Terry finally slid out, almost crashing into Dylan before stumbling to his feet, holding on to his stomach, pain moans echoing from his mouth. “Aw crap… 'BURP’ I-I need a couch to lay on…” “Ye-yea… 'BRAPPPPPP’” The two struggled as they held on to each other for support as they stumbled towards the door before hitting the street. Their walks… Er shuffles, were noticed by other people who stopped and looked in shock at the two. “Unf… Why are they staring at us?” “Probably because of these… Ngh… J-just ignore them…” Bellies still rumbling as they turned the corner, their shared house with the girls coming up. Quickning their pace to their shuffles, they arrived at the small house and door, Dylan searching for his keys before inserting the key and entering, the coolness of the house giving the two males a temporary relief before the couch was spotted. The two instantly collapsed, their backs against the edges of the couch, their bellies jiggling as they laid still, hands coming towards them to calm them down, more burps exiting their mouths. “Ngh… 'BRAPPPPPP!!!’ Ugh… 'BURP!’ C-c-crap… Again…” “'BURPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!’ Welp… I think… That’s enough for this gut….” Both boys let their heads lay back against each other, quiet groans and burps keep on escaping from their mouths. “Terry… We should probably… G-go upstairs to our bedroom before the girls….” “Yea… But, let’s just relax here for a couple more minutes please? Ngh…” “S-sure…” Relaxation turned to sleepiness as the two slowly closed their eyes, their guts the only thing making noise and speaking. Sound asleep, the door opened a couple seconds after their arrival to the girls, after a long day of just hanging out right before they noticed the boys sitting there.

Back to the Present The girls were finished as the boys postions were changed, Terry’s head on Dylan’s chest as Dylan laid back, head against the edge, snoring before scrunching his face and opening his eyes slowly. A soft moan escaped as he raised his head… Only to see the girls standing: Kris excited and Philomena… No change in expression as usual. But still Dylan froze with embarrassment as Terry did the same thing of waking up only after spotting the girls was he as embarressed as Dylan. “Uhh… H-h-h-hey Kris and 'Mena’…. What you g-g-guys doing here so e-e-e-early?” Said a stammering Dylan, Terry still frozen. “Well… One, we live here. Also… Why would you ask that? Trying to make an excuse, cause if you are, too little too late to hide them.” “B-b-buts it’s all right!!! We don’t mind it… Heh… S-sorry if this is awkward!” Said a blushing Kris. “Nghhhhhhhhhhh… So uh… You guys aren’t….” “Nah… We are amazed that you did something stupid like this tho, but that is to be expected.” “Heheh yea… Uh, well, we’re just going to go upstairs… 'BRAPPP!!’” One last burp was released by both of them as their faces became more red as the girls, well just Kris, blushed as well. The two attempted to bow, it was half-heartily because their guts were in the way, and made their ways towards their room, closing the door and leaving Kris squealing and Philomena going into the kitchen for something to drink and mumbling about “Flesh orbs” or something. A Couple Days Later, Terry was sitting on his side of the room on his laptop watching some old challenge videos. After their little adventure at the Buffett place, they were stuck with their guts for a considerable amount but they managed to shrink away over time, just leaving a small layer of fat on it, but it was otherwise unoticable. Yawning, Terry clicked on the next video which was titled “Diet Mentos and Soda Challenge”, which piqued Terry’s interest. After viewing it, Terry got a dangerous idea as he smiled deviously. “Hey Terry. What you looking at?” Dylan walked in on cue as Terry had a glimmer in his eyes before rushing downstairs quickly then back to Dylan, who looked in confusion. “Hey Dylan… You up for a challenge?”

Yugo’s words died in the tumult of many people on the busy streets of Bonta, as he followed his girlfriend, walking just a bit faster from sheer frustration.

- Hmph! - she grunted when he portal’d himself out of nowhere, turning her head to the other side. - Amalia, I said I am sorry… - Tell that to HER! - she roared, crossing her arms.

Yugo sighed. Just half an hour ago, the couple was having a splendid shopping day in the huge city of Bonta. And then, out of nowhere, another sight caught Yugo’s attention, just for a fraction of second, but it was enough to rise alarm for Amalia. On a small square between the tenement houses, dancers on stage entertained the crowd, and as it happened, one of the female ones gave Yugo a wink… It didn’t help that she was a Sadida as well, and that her outfit was, as Amalia has put it, “scandalous”.

Yugo didn’t remind her that she used to wear equally skimpy clothes, because at this point, blood was already boiling inside the Sadida princess, urging her to rush from the crowd towards their hotel, forcing Yugo to catch up with her and sort out the situation. But Yugo knew better that with Amalia sometimes even the smallest of inconveniences would make her lose her temper, and sadly Yugo has not found a guaranteed counter-measure for that.

- I… I need to walk it off! - she said suddenly, stopping in place and stomping her feet. - We’ll meet at the hotel later. - she turned away, prompting her animated doll, carrying her shopping bags to follow her. - Ami! I said I was sorry! - Yugo cried after her, but his girlfriend disappeared in the crowd, trying to distract herself with the items displayed in the shopping windows.

Despondent, Yugo turned on the spot and walked the other way.

He too needed some time to let his own frustration die down, and he spent it loitering between the shops open until late hours, alongside the riverbank, and even pass the same, now empty square the dancers have set up their show.

He returned to their hotel with the rest of their items they bought and slowly walked up the stairs, thinking of some good opening line. He had at least a dozen different ones, and even though he knew he wasn’t guilty of anything he’d have to at least try to sound apologetically.

Yugo opened the door, and cautiously walked into their dimly lit room, knowing from the gentle rustling noises that Amalia was in.

Yugo said it with his head lowered, but as soon as he raised it up, words died in his throat. Once his eyes adapted to the weird lighting, he noticed a gramophone set in the corner, though he was more than sure their room didn’t have one. Has she borrowed it from the owner? Bought it in one of many antique shops? Those details mattered no more when Amalia put on a record, and smooth, soothing music filled their room, as Yugo was given sight of her amazing body once more.

Walking to the slow rhythm, Amalia swayed her hips with every step, until her whole figure was illuminated by the candles set on their nightdrawers. When he was just inches from him, he instinctively reached his hands and closed his eyes, puckering his lips to place a kiss at her exposed belly, but a sudden pain brought him to his senses.

- No touching! You only paid for the show… - she scolded him, slapping his hand. - Ami… - he huffed in frustration when he understood his position.

Amalia continued her role, dancing to the music, giving him excruciatingly slow view of her all sides, letting Yugo marvel at the details on her outfit that hid her most important features. When she made a particularly fast twist, the hem of her skirt flew up, and Yugo had to restrain himself again from grabbing her bottom and sinking his face between her buttocks. But Yugo needed even more willpower when Amalia turned around and leaned on him, giving him an unobstructed sight of her naked, ample breasts and her nipples. A devilish smirk of revenge appeared on Yugo’s face when her voice cracked, and Amalia knew that no matter what she’d say, she was no longer in control, especially since she had hard time gathering her thoughts at all.

- Uh, yes, I think that, that will… Cover a few… Few… sessions…

Next thing she knew a strong push from her back made her trip onto the bed, straight into Yugo’s arms, once he took one of it out of his portal. Her lips joined his in a long, consolatory kiss that explained their feelings better than any apology would. Just like her clothes vanished almost magically before, so did his, and a moment later Yugo was towering over her, with only his hat on his head.

Cubism: an art movement which wanted to capture the ephemeral nature of time; a cross-section of past, present, and future in a single instant. Depicted through geometric or cubic shapes, collages, and the overlaying of interlocking planes and dimensions.

In which Ray constructs her own artworks. In which Ray constructs the universe and all within it.

Ray held her head high and thrust her hand into the air. The bracelets manifested from thin air: four. They clamped onto her and became the only thing anchoring her to the one true reality beneath her feet as she bent time and space. As she destroyed the universe and recreated it from scraps. She recreated it perfectly. Her ideation of perfection surfaced from the destruction.

Her father always said she had her head in the clouds. Now she was rending them as she saw fit. She was the sculptor of hills, mountains, canyons, and more. She created people like an author would create characters in a novel; she gave them all appearances, families, personalities, homes: everything. She wrought the wind and water. She remade the planets, stars, and constellations. She was a Goddess. She was infinity and a fifth.

She could see it all.

She could feel it all.

Her brain was fit to burst but she ascended humanity. She became something more and something less. Not quite divinity, not quite dead.

Four. Four. Four. Four. Five.

She became one of five. She became four of five. The universes and histories and dimensions unravelled and she frantically tried to save it; try to fix it but she had to start from scratch. It was strangely easy. There was to be four of everything. She could see it all once and rend it all at once. Four of everything. She would create everything in the perfect image so to keep everyone safe from the wrath of Zarc.

Ray’s body shifted. She left a corporeal form before as she refused to bow to the dragon before her. She became five forms: herself and her selves. Not just her. As she ripped through the dimensions, through space and time and void, she did the same to Zarc.

She kept her head up and her eyes dry. She held onto her memories – not theirs. Hers. She refused to let herself become one of many. She refused to let them – these four girls – become parts of her. She wanted them to be their own person. She didn’t want them to be four quarters of one whole: of a full fifth.

She hoped it was the same for the boys. In this state of omnipotence, she hoped that Zarc wasn’t allowing those boys he was becoming to let them become four quarters to a full fifth. She didn’t want them to become one.

The energy of the universe funnelled through her. The lights were immense and dazzling but she stood through it all. She refused to bow beneath the pressure and power. It was hers. She wouldn’t let this power use her. She would use it. She would remain calm and in control. She would remain incandescent even as her body became nothingness and only echoes of her remained.

She could see it all.

She could feel it all.

The universes were in her fingertips. It was past, present, and future all at once. Ray knew what she had to do.

She made them. She made the past. She made the present. And she would do her best to create the future.

Hiragi Yuzu: The Bracelet Girl of Standard whom she would gift the power of En Flowers to. She would be determination and thoughtful. She would be appreciated. Ray will also gift her with a doting father and many friends. Ray gives her the ability to adapt and learn to become bigger than herself; the ability to help draw that out in others. Ray hopes that she will guide Sakaki Yuya, the Standard incarnation of Zarc, to the right path. Ray hopes that Yuzu will be able to guide the four counterparts of Zarc away from destruction if given the chance.

Kurosaki Ruri: The Bracelet Girl of XYZ whom she would gift the power of En Birds to. She would be beauty and grace but resolute. She would be admired. Ray will also gift her a protective elder brother and gentle circle of friends. She knows Ruri is destined to be the dove they shoot to start a war but Ray gives her that resolute will to defy and defy even against the ones who want to protect her and the ones who want to harm her. Ray hopes that she will bind Yuto, the XYZ incarnation of Zarc, to friendship and righteousness. To smiles.

Rin: The Bracelet Girl of Synchro whom she would gift the power of En Winds to. She would be bravery and level headed. She would be reliable. Ray knows she can’t give Rin a cushy life as she designs the world of Synchro and as Zarc rages against those plans so instead, Ray gives her the ability to survive and to analyse so she can be independent. Ray hopes that she will ground Yugo, the Synchro incarnation of Zarc, and help him make the difficult decisions; even when she isn’t around.

Serena: The Bracelet Girl of Fusion whom she would gift the power of En Moon to. She would be unyielding and noble but she would also have the capacity to learn. She will learn. And for Serena, Ray tries to give her the best but she knows her Father will try and bring her back so she gives Serena a mentor will instil virtues in her and the will to fight against what’s wrong even if its grinds against what Ray’s Father will teach her. Ray knows that Yuri, the Fusion incarnation of Zarc, is beyond saving before she starts but Ray hopes that Serena will learn and grow beyond the teachings of Academia by meeting the others, Yuya and Yugo.

Ray knows these girls are destined for a nigh apocalyptic ending. She would know. After all, she’s all of them combined and she can see her sugar, her spice, and her everything nice in them but she could see that they would be their own person. They would be complementary to each other for they will be bound by the silver on their wrists. But they would also be completely different; even if they were cursed to have the same face despite it all.

So, she makes sure that in their lives which are set to start in mere seconds.

And the universe becomes silent.

And Ray’s mind becomes silent.

Zarc gives in. His final howl resounds through the emptiness as the universe, as Ray, takes a breath and prepares for the second coming of life across four, newly created planes in the best image Ray could muster against the manifest evil that she knows Zarc created in his defiance of her power.

She’s done the best she can in these moments – in these infinities – and she puts the final touches on the ones whom she knows will become the fighters in the second coming in this war. After all, history repeats and her Father will never forget her.

But now, she can only wait as her plans, her stories, come into motion and into life. She designed all the characters to be the best they can be and she hopes they all take a life of their own and make something she could never have foreseen. No matter how insignificant she created them in their universe. Everyone will become their own person and surprise her.

The four boys will become one.

The four girls will become one.

But at least, they all got the chance to live and be free. They were given the opportunity to do what Ray could not do in this Original Dimension which is to prevent catastrophe before the winds of chaos could even gust. Its futile.

Destruction and recreation is the foregone conclusion but, at the very least, the four who will become one were given the chance to live. With that, Ray can be content. She knows she’s done the right thing given the circumstances. She might have made a hollow mess of things here and there but that’s the beauty of life… we can all grow.

We can all use the powers seen in nature.

Does Takeru have high pain tolerance?

Just a little thought that I’ve been having ever since Takeru’s story has been revealed.

So when Takeru was rescued, he looked exhausted and sad, but otherwise not really looking like he had just been through six months of torture. In fact, when his grandparents showed up he even smiled and said he was okay. What truly breaks him is when he finds out his parents died while searching for him. So what Takeru has to deal with is an emotional pain, grief and blame. I’m not sure if that’s 100% accurate, but sometimes people with high physical pain tolerance are more affected by emotional pain than other people.

Now this shot might break this theory since Takeru reacts to the shocks pretty much the same as Yusaku, though it can also be possible that he was screaming from fear and disbelief that his favorite card game has been turned into a personal hell for him (I think he mentions during the duel with Go that Lost Incident took the fun from Duel Monsters for him). Either way, Lost Incident scarred him deeply, but not necessary due to the pain from electric shocks - he was isolated, starved, forced to undergo experiment and he also lost parents because of it.

Another scene that may break my pain tolerance theory – Burning Draw. Due to the taken damage Takeru falls on his knees, similar to how normal person would from the pain. However this is not the same moment when he activates his skill – if he really had low pain tolerance, he would be hurting when activating his skill, not long after. He probably collapsed due to exhaustion and not really the pain.

The lyrics from opening also kinda bring up the topic of the pain. In a way it is a song from Takeru for Yusaku: “I feel your flame” - I know how you feel, I’ve been there and it adds “I want to share your pain” - I know your pain was greater, let me take some of it away from you. Since he joined Yusaku, Takeru has been trying to help him in any way he could. He saw that Yusaku fought his enemies despite the trauma, but deep down he probably knew that he is hurting and decided to give him a hand.

Yusaku suffers from many things, but unlike Takeru, he can’t really smile or still enjoy duelling, meaning accident affected him differently. It could be that whenever he experiences the effects of PTSD, every possible positive emotion is ripped away from him so after so many failed attempts to try to live normally – Yusaku simply gave up as he no longer saw the reason to smile. PTSD reminds him of pain, pain reminds him of Lost Incident and because of it, Yusaku can hardly live normally by this point – the only thing left for him is to bring the people who scarred him to justice.

Somehow Takeru remains in his high spirits, not completely due to the loss of his parents, but he’s far more open with everyone than Yusaku. Once he started living with his grandparents he started hating everything and became depressed and closed, similar to Jin, though it was again because of his parents passing and not really the Lost Incident itself. Kiku even points out that Takeru has always been full of life and still is. It could be possible that he used to be a happy child but once Lost Incident happened, he started blaming it and therefore himself for his parents’ death and locked himself from the world as a form a punishment. That liveliness of his remains sealed within him until he sees the article about Playmaker, Go and Blue Angel. Not sure how he found out about Yusaku being a Lost Child, but in one way or another – those articles awakened something in him. Maybe after years of self-imprisonment, he has finally realized there is a way he can help and soon his cheery persona is back. When he tells Go that he needs to continue winning, he was probably pointing to the fact that the more he duels, the more his heart can be unlocked.

The first time Takeru was announced as a new character, I honestly expected another computer nerd like Revolver and yet still somehow chill person like Kusanagi. In no way I thought Takeru would be the cheerful friend that Yusaku needed for the past fifty episodes and even share the same past as him. Now that I’m putting pieces together, I kinda believe that Takeru is using Yusaku as his anchor, as the reason to continue fighting just like him. Perhaps once he met Flame and realizing Yusaku is a victim of Lost Incident just like him (I mean Takeru knew awful a lot about Lost Incident that Yusaku only came learn over the past episodes – like knowing about Dr. Kogami, the fact that each Ignis is based on a Lost Child and Cyberse world stuff – though then again Flame could tell him all of this – another a bit farfetched theory is this:

Though I doubt Takeru could afford it – yeah, Flame most likely told him everything completely for free (And I still wonder who bought the data – maybe Bowman and Haru? Or the shadowy figure they work for.)

Back to the main topic – maybe the whole fighting with himself was a result of him trying to let go of the blame for his parents’ death. He didn’t feel the same pain as others did and believes the emotional pain was a punishment he deserved and needed a while to know it is not. Maybe he’ll continue returning to his true self by each duel – with Blue Girl now. Maybe he secretly wishes to duel Playmaker but at the same time knows Yusaku would do everything not to lose so that’s why he tries to be helpful all the time. He still wants to challenge Yusaku, but not just yet – not until Yusaku is ready.

In the meanwhile Takeru tries to be a friend that he himself needed to Yusaku, knowing that Yusaku’s mental state is everything but okay. He tries to not be too intrusive and surprisingly Yusaku doesn’t mind it one bit, even allowing him to call him by the first name – something that is usually allowed to only close friends and family. I surely hope that Takeru uses his inability to feel pain to help Yusaku and healing his own soul through it.

The whole reason I came up with this theory is mainly Yugo from ARC V manga (in case you didn’t read all 34 chapters – the following contains heavy spoilers so read at your own risk).

Unlike Yuri and Yuya who both collapsed from the pain during the duel with Sora, Yugo looks surprisingly alright, even smiling and manages to get them all away to safety in time.

(may I also add how adorably similar the two of them look too?)

Okay back to the point – just like mentioned previously, despite the smile, Takeru is also grieving inside. Just like Yugo:

Yugo can handle the worst pain, like the after effects of receiving damage and continue riding his D-Wheel after nearly dying, but what he cannot handle is his family suffering – in this case, Yuya.

We still don’t know what exactly happened (hype for chapter 35), but whatever it was, the sole memory of it would, according to Yugo, make Yuya suffer. Because of that, he’d keep on erasing his memories and even Yuto would do everything to keep them from Yuya. In all cases, Yugo deeply cares for Yuya and would do anything to protect him.

Just like Takeru.

I believe that Takeru sees Yusaku as the family he wishes to protect from any more harm and uses his pain tolerance to provide support that Yusaku needs. Jin was too traumatized by it and Specter enjoyed, so Takeru is really the only one who understands Yusaku’s pain and is still capable to help him out.

Considering Kusanagi might switch sides and therefore leaving Yusaku, the poor guy will at least still have Takeru. Who knows, maybe after the whole betrayal episode, Kusanagi might reveal his true identity to SOL and Yusaku will need a place to hide – bam Takeru takes him to his hometown, away from Den City where Yusaku can emotionally recover after the betrayal and talks about personal things with Takeru for the first time and maybe he meets Kiku and his grandparents and learns to trust people again.

Anyway, hopefully, Takeru’s and Yusaku’s relationship is explored further in the series! I really love the two of them and they deserve the world!

It’s my turn Chapter 2

It’s been four months since Zarc was revived and three since he reappeared in Standard. Standing guard against the revived Supreme King Dragon, Yuzu with Serena, Rin and Ruri stand as Ray with the stronger Lancers helping them. This time, It’s Her Turn!

At 7:00 am, Yusho watched with a smile on his face as his students gathered for breakfast in You Show’s slightly dated cafeteria. He looked in shock when he saw a girl with long purple hair and pink eyes had arrived for breakfast. Ruri quickly noticed his stare, happily walked up to him and bowed.

“Good Morning Mr. Sakaki. It’s good to see you again.” Ruri happily said.

Yusho got over his shock and quickly replied, “It’s nice to see you again, Ruri I hope you’ve remembered what I taught you in Heartland. If not, I’m be happy to teach it to you again.”

“I remembered. It helped keep me going during those times.” Ruri said as her smile turned slightly sour at the memories.

Yusho noticing her sad smile, quickly asked as he walked alongside her, “So why are did you come for breakfast instead of Yuzu?”

“She had a bad dream and didn’t get a lot of sleep last night. So we’re letting her sleep and I’m in charge of the body right now.” Ruri replied as she was getting some scrambled eggs.

“That’s nice of you” Yusho complimented.

“It’s all that I can do to make up for erasing her memories.” Ruri bitterly replied which caused Rin and Serena to grimace.

Seeing her response, Yusho scratched his head, following her as she gathered some food from the buffet.

“You’re curious about something aren’t you?” Ruri asked as she noticed how silent he was.

“No, no” Yusho denied.

“It’s fine to ask, you were my teacher for a year or so and we’re fellow Lancers. So go ahead.” Ruri said with a small smile as she put her tray of food down on a table.

“You don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to…. But how do you and Rin find the strength to fight Zarc?” Yusho asked, causing Ruri to fall silent. “You, Rin and Serena erased Yuzu’s memory so she could fight Zarc? So why did you and Rin decide to keep your memories?” Serena looked on with a slightly bitter expression.

Ruri kept silent for a minute before replying in a small voice, “Because Yuzu, unlike me and Rin, can’t fight Zarc if she has her memories. She’ll never give up the hope that she can save Yuya, Yuto and Yugo. And as much as I hope that she’s right ….. I don’t know how much of my hope is real. Do I truly believe that I can save Yuto or am I just deluding myself because I want him back?” which caused Yusho, Rin and Serena to frown.

Yusho looked in shocked at Ruri and tried to comfort her but only silence came.

“I can’t let all of reality be destroyed because I refused to acknowledge reality. I just … just can’t” Ruri finished as tears started to trail from her eyes.

“I’m sorry for asking such insensitive question” Yusho sincerely apologized as he frowned.

“No I was the one who decided to answer.” Ruri stated as she started to frown. “After crying so much, I’m not really in the mood to eat. I’ll let Rin take over, she always enjoys eating.” Ruri said as she transformed into a girl with green medium length hair and amber eyes.

“Don’t say it like I’m a glutton!” Rin complained, starling Yusho.

Both Rin and Yusho had trouble looking at each other due to the awkward atmosphere earlier. After a few minutes of silence, Rin sat down and took a bit of the food that Ruri had gotten. “This is delicious. Who made it?” Rin said, hoping to lighten up the atmosphere.

Yusho smiled a bit said, “I did”

“Really?” Rin followed up.

“Well, as much as I would like to claim all the credit. My wife did help me.” He continued.

“Well that’s nice” Rin said which caused Yusho to show a sad smile.

Having seen Yusho’s reaction, Rin arched an eyebrow. Yusho sighed and then explained, ”I just feel I’m a burden. Because I couldn’t stop Zarc from reviving, Yoko decided to join the Lancers and we had to uproot our lives to the Fusion Dimension, even then she spends most of her time helping me. If I had just protected Yuya like I should have, we would be continuing our lives instead of forcing all this danger on her.”

Rin then turned away from Yusho and then asked, “Mr. Sakaki, you went missing for three years right?”

Yusho felt a pang of guilt as she brought up his past actions, “That’s right”

“I’m not blaming, you did it to protect innocent people. But when someone that you used to spend every day with is ripped from your life, you ….. You realize how much the small things you used to do with them like eating together, talking about your dreams together or even just dueling together were so precious and that you would give up anything to do it again. I think that Mrs. Sakaki helps you because she’s just happy that you’re with her again.” Rin stated which caused Yusho to go speechless. “So I don’t think you should worry if that you’re a burden to her. I think you should just smile, to show that you really do enjoy your time together. That’s how I feel at the very least.” Rin finished with a small smile which caused Yusho and Ruri to smile while Serena looked at all three of them and felt a bit jealous.

Yusho then patted her head and said, “You’re very wise despite being so young.”

“Well someone had to be or otherwise Yu… some idiot would never survive” Rin replied which caused Serena to feel another pang of jealousy.

“Thank you for the advice” Yusho happily thanked with a big smile, causing Rin to blush a bit.

Hoping to change the topic again, she asked, “Where are the other Lancers?”

“We finished checking the files that Zarc looked over. Most of them were about himself and Ray. But a good number were about prisons for major criminals in this dimension.”

“prisons? What would he want with prisons?” Rin asked.

“We have no clue. But he seemed to focus on two prisons in particular that held high class criminals. Yoko and Mr. Tokumatsu went to one of them while Sora and Asuka went to the other one.” Yusho added.

“And we’re still in You Show for ….?” Rin asked.

“We’re not sure which one he might attack. So it was better thought that you and I wait at You Show and then travel to the prison being attacked instead risking the both of us being stuck at the wrong one.”

“Should you have let us sleep in then?” Rin asked.

“We have no idea when or even if Zarc will attack today. We’re already pushing this harsh duty on your four, I think we should let you rest and eat your full.” Yusho said with a smile that made Rin, Ruri and Serena smile too.

Sora and Asuka stood as they grimaced at the prison in front of them. Asuka looked at the square, gray prison and felt her energy being drained. She remembered that the building in front of them was originally used for people that rejected the war effort, leaders that thought the Academia was insane, teachers that refused to let their students become soldiers and parents that refused to send their students to the Academia were all locked up. Ironically after Zarc torn them apart, the Academia staff were now being held in the very same prison. Asuka wondered how an entire dimension had effectively lost their collective minds, listening to a mad man. She started clenching her teeth as she bitterly thought she had no right to mock others when she had also believed in the Professor’s insane ramblings.

“So this is where all the Academia is being kept?” Sora asked, shaking Asuka’s from her thoughts.

“Huh? Oh no. Just the staff. The most of the students are being kept in a psychological treatment physicality. But some of the more deranged students are kept here.” Asuka answered.

“So this is where I would have been if Yuya and Yuzu didn’t show me the truth. And how do I repay them? Watch on the sidelines as they try to kill each other” Sora bitterly added as he clenched his teeth and hands.

Asuka frowned as she tried to cheer her friend, “It’s possible that we can still save Yuya. I mean Reiji is trying to revive Ray and her En cards. He even decided to focus on it instead of his other projects when he realized that Yuzu still remembers Yuya.”

Before Sora could say anything. A purple beam of light exploded from the center of the prison shocking Sora and Asuka. They climbed the fence with three jumps as they called Yusho and Yoko. They then jumped to the top of the prison and raced to the hole in the prison’s ceiling. As they reached the center, they saw bright little squares in front of them. Their stomachs dropped as they realized that someone had already transported away, causing them to up their speeds. When they were five meters away from the hole, a boy wearing a cape and long jacket jumped onto the ceiling causing both Sora and Asuka to start their duel disks.

“ZARC!” Sora roared as he drew five cards as Asuka did the same. Zarc turned to face them and smiled.

Sora then yelled, “I activate Polymerization and fuse Fluffal Bear and Edge Imp Scissors to fusion summon Frightful Scissor Bear”

Asuka then continued, “I activate Machine Angel Ritual. I tribute two Cyber Tutubons in my hand to Ritual Summon Level 10 Cyber Angel Vrash!

Zarc just smiled as he drew five cards and then yelled as dramatically as possible, “And I ACTIVATE THE STRONGEST CARD IN MY DECK!!!!!!!!”

Sora and Asuka braced themselves for Zarc to summon some horrible abomination.

“violet flash” Zarc finished as blandly and calm as possible while looking a bit bored, causing Sora and Asuka to nearly trip in shock to Zarc’s enjoyment.

“Magician’s Right Hand’s effect activates! When I control a Spellcaster monster I can negate a spell card’s activation so I negate violet flash!” Yusho yelled as he flew in standing on his ace, Performapal Sky Magician’s rings with Yuzu standing on another ring.

“Yusho” Zarc said with venom in his voice as his face twisted into a snarl. Yusho grinned in response as Yuzu jumped onto the ceiling next to Sora. “So you decided to join this little get together.” Zarc added.

“Of course. It’s an honor to meet the Supreme King Dragon that desired to destroy reality only to fail twice.” Yusho said as he gave a small bow which only angered Zarc further.

“Ray too. Just great” Zarc added with even more venom.

“Don’t forget about us!” a voice roared behind Zarc. Zarc and the person who followed him turned their head to see a motorcycle holding a blonde woman wearing a white knee length coat and a man wearing a yukata. The motorcycle stopped behind them as Chojiro jumped off.

Zarc looked around and realized that he was completely surrounded. He sighed and then said, “Hey just jump up. It’s better that we don’t get separated.” As Zarc finished someone still in the prison jumped up, causing Rin, Ruri and Serena to look in shock as they saw his face.

“Oh my, look who it is. My cute little test subject.” The balding man said with sneer as he looked straight at Yuzu.

“Test subject?” Yuzu asked with as she started to feel disgusted.

“Doktor!” Sora said with venom in his voice.

“The Doktor?” Asuka and Yusho both asked.

“Good to see that others realize genius when they see it. Yes, I am the greatest mind of the Academia. At your service.” The Doktor said with a voice filled with arrogance.

“What do you want with him, Zarc?” Yoko yelled. She heard at how the Doktor put parasites inside Yuzu’s head and felt herself shiver from disgust and rage at the mere thought of it.

“Well I really messed up.” Zarc calmly said, placing his hand on his forehead as he ignored Yoko’s question.

“Good!” Sora snarked with an arrogance filed grin.

“I guess this is my fault. I should have expected you guys would have prevented interdimensional transport inside the prison but I mean who would expect the Lancers would be. Would be. What’s the word?” Zarc started to fumble around as the Lancers stared at him. “Oh I remember, competent especially after I tore you all to pieces without really trying.” Zarc said as he clapped his hands with a sadistic smile which caused the Lancers to clench their teeth.

“Times change Zarc. Want to test it then?” Chojiro threatened.

“Sure!” Zarc said with a sadistic smile. Just as the Lancers started to make their move, black smoke expelled from Zarc’s body. Soon the smoke filled the area, blinding the Lancers. After a few minutes of darkness, the smoke started to thin but the Lancers soon wished they had stayed blind as they saw the smoke started to form a ten story black dragon with blue eyes.

“He can still transform into Supreme King Dragon Zarc?” Sora nearly yelled as he saw the huge dragon Zarc transformed into.

“Yep! Hope you enjoy, flying!” Zarc yelled as he flapped his large wings causing hurricane level winds. The Lancers tried to brace themselves against the winds but soon found themselves flung into the sky.

The six Lancers looked to each other as they saw they were at least a few kilometers in the air. Yusho and Asuka made eye contact and nodded as they still held onto their monsters. They then passed each other as they went to rescue their friends.

“Yoko!” Yusho yelled as he and Sky Magician raced to grab his wife. Yoko quickly regained her senses and grabbed onto one of the rings that her husband’s ace held.

“Grab on!” Asuka yelled she flew on her Cyber Angel Vrash near Sora and Chojiro. They quickly grabbed onto Vrash’s arms and hanged there as Asuka helped them up.

Yuzu prepared her duel disk as she saw that Yusho was flying to rescue her as well, but she realized he would take too long and prepared to draw before she heard Serena talk.

“Yuzu let me take control! My Cat Dancer is easier to summon!” Serena begged. Yuzu nodded her head and her body changed into a blue haired girl with a huge yellow bow in her hair and green eyes. Serena then turned on her duel disk that as she drew five cards and yelled, “I activate Polymerization. I fuse Lunalight Blue Cat and Lunalight Purple Butterfly to Fusion Summon Level 7 Lunalight Cat Dancer!” As Serena yelled, a purple woman wearing a mask with cat-like features appeared and quickly caught her master in a princess carry, slowly floating down to the ground. But soon Cat Dancer twisted her face in pain. “Cat Dancer!” Serena worried as she saw her ace in pain and saw a disgusting but familiar bug on the back of her monster.

“I activate the spell Incubation! This destroys the monster my Parasite Fusioner is attached to and allows me to summon two more Parasite Fusioners from deck, graveyard or hand!” The Doktor yelled with a sadistic look on his face.

“AHHH!” Cat Dancer yelled as she exploded into yellow light, dropping Serena. Serena quickly positioned herself to land without injury. Once she made contact with the ground, she started to roll forward, causing her to face the Doktor once she stood up without any injury.

“My, my. That was a beautiful landing, almost cat-like.” The Doktor mocked, causing Serena to clench her teeth.

Above Serena and the Doctor, Zarc prepared a beam of energy from his mouth and fired on the buildings below him, only for a pink bear with a scissor in the center of its body to block the blast at the price of being destroyed.

“We’re not letting you kill anymore!” Chojiro yelled.

“Why to save lives? Or because you don’t want Egao Fetish junior to be a murderer?” Zarc mocked.

“Both!” Asuke roared.

“I activate Fusion Recovery and bring back Edge Imp Scissors and Polymerization. Then I activate Toy Vendor. I discard Edge Imp Frightfuloid to activate its effect. I draw a card and if the card is a Fluffal monster, I can special summon it, otherwise I have to discord it. I draw and it’s Fluffal Sheep. I then fuse Sheep with Scissors to summon Frightful Chain Sheep! Then I activate Frightful Fusion that removes Sheep, Bear and Frigthfuloid to Fusion Summon Frightful Mad Chimera! (Attack: 2800, Defense: 2000)” Sora commanded.

“Wow that was a mouthful” Zarc snarked.

“Shut it!” Sora yelled as he jumped onto one of the heads of his monster.

“My turn! I activate Ultimate Koi Koi. I discard my hard and then draw five times. For each card Flower Cardian I draw, I can special summon and make them level two. Koi Koi Koi Koi Koi! I draw.” Chojiro said before he drew five times. “Good to see that Enjoy Chojiro hasn’t lost his stuff.” He smiled at his luck. “All five of my draws were Flower Cardians and now I tuned them to Synchro Summon Level 10! Flower Cardian LightFlare (Attack: 5000, Defense: 0)” Chojiro yelled as he summoned his strongest monster and jumped from Vrains to LightFlare’s shoulder.

“Not to be left behind, I activate Roar of the Nightlife. I can now summon any Road Raven from my hand without any tributes. I now summon Road Raven Red Queen(Attack: 2000 Defense: 2000)” Yoko yelled as her ace entered the world.

“I will give you Lancers’ praise. You’re the only IDIOTS that consistently keep racing towards your deaths.” Zarc mocked.

“We won’t give up! Not till we get Yuya, Yuto and Yugo back!” Yusho countered.

“What nothing for Yuri? Oh well, then try to catch me then!” Zarc yelled as he started to fly away.

“Get back here!” Asuka roared as the five Lancers chased him.

“Hopefully the Doktor uses this time to escape and not act like an idiot.” Zarc thought as he led the Lancers away.

The Doktor looked in glee as the Lancers flew out of sight. “Hahahhaha. This is perfect! Zarc understands my genius and gave me time to recollect my test subject!” The Doktor giggled, causing Serena to grow goosebumps.

“Oh. Then TRY IT!” Serena dared as she got her duel disk ready.

Yuzu looked in shock as she saw how angry Serena was. She then noticed that Ruri was also uncharacteristically angry while Rin looked on in cold fury. She started to shiver as she realized what she had to do.

“Serena, switch with me!” Yuzu commanded as she continued to shiver.

“No! After what he did to us. I don’t want you to face this monster” Serena refused.

“And facing him when you’re this angry is the better idea?” Yuzu countered.

“She has a point.” Rin conceded through gritted teeth.

“But, BUT!” Serena nearly roared.

“We can’t let you face this pervert” Ruri also refused as her face showed disgust.

“Are you three sure, you can duel calmly?” Yuzu argued which shut up Ruri and Serena. “I’m touched that you want to protect me but if we lose to this freak because you couldn’t think straight, how safe will any of us be? We still need to catch up to Zarc!”

“Tch. Fine.” Serena gave up and transformed into a pink haired girl with blue eyes which shocked the Doktor.

“So you can change into different people just like Zarc!” The Doktor nearly exploded into joy which disgusted Serena, Ruri, Rin and Yuzu. “Wait hahhahhha. You changed into the only girl that I didn’t get to use. What does that mean you can change into the purple and green haired girls too!!” the Doktor mused with a disgusting smile.

“Use?” Yuzu thought as nausea flooded her senses.

“Oh come on talk. I mean this is the last chance you get to freely control your body again” the Doktor replied with a smile on his face which made Yuzu want to punch him.

“Are you going to keep talking or are we going to duel?” Yuzu threatened as started shaking. She wasn’t sure if it was fear, rage, disgust or a horrid mix of all three.

“True, stalling would mean those Lancers will come back.” The Doktor stated as he also readied his duel disk.

“Crossover!” Yuzu’s duel disk yelled as platforms formed.

“Duel!” Yuzu and Doktor roared as the Action Cards fell.

“Well I already have cards on my field, so I set one card and end my turn.” The Doktor said.

“It’s my turn then! Draw!” Yuzu yelled as she drew. Yuzu checked the field and saw that the Doktor had three of those parasites on his field. As she saw those horrible monsters, she could feel something disgustingly familiar about those bugs. She forced those feelings down, refusing to let the first memories she regained be of those bugs. She resolved that since she didn’t really know how his deck worked, she would create an iron defense first.

“I activate 1st Movement Solo! This allows me to special summon a level 4 or lower Melodious monster from my hand or deck if I control no monsters. I special summon Aria the Melodious Diva in defense mode (Attack: 1600 Defense: 1200) from my deck. I then special summon Canon the Melodious Diva (Attack: 1400 Defense: 2000) as I control a Melodious monster. I then activate Transmodify and send Canon to the graveyard to special summon Elegy the Melodious Diva in attack mode (Attack: 2000 Defense: 1200).” Yuzu yelled.

“So all that effort to summon two monsters whose attack are at best 2000” The Doktor mocked.

“Keep mocking, but due to Aria’s special effect, if she was special summoned none of my Melodious monsters can be targeted by card effects or destroyed by battle! And with Elegy’s special effect none of my Melodius monsters can be destroyed by card effects. And with an added bonus all my Fairy type monsters gain 300 attack because she was special summoned. Elegy(attack 2300) Aria(attack 1900) And I end my turn.” Yuzu said with a smile.

“hahahahaha. It’s cute that you think you stop me!” The Doktor mocked as he drew his card causing Yuzu feel her heart race from rage. “hahaha. I activate my trap! Parasite infestation!” As the Doktor yelled the parasites started to jump onto Yuzu’s monsters.

“What? But Aria’s special effect makes sure that my monsters can’t be targeted by special effects!” Yuzu asked.

“Parasite Infestation’s effect states that as long as I control at least the same number of parasites on my side of the field, I negate all your monsters effects and take control of them with the equal number of parasites as equip cards!” Doktor yelled

“Don’t panic!” Ruri yelled.

“Grab an action card!” Rin aided.

At Rin’s words, Yuzu started to jump on the platforms in front of her.

“I activate Polymerization and fuse the parasite attached Aria, Elegy and my last remaining Parasite Fusioner to Fusion summon Parasite Empress! (Attack: 3000 Defense: 0). I activate her special effect, when special summoned, I revive all Parasite Fusioners in my graveyard and attach them to her and her attack raises by 300 for each parasite attached. I revived all three so her attack is 3900. Direct attack.” He laughed as purple bile from the bug’s mouth shot as a highly pressured stream aimed for Yuzu’s back

“Behind you!” Serena warned as Yuzu jumped to the top platform and grabbed the card hanging at the edge.

“I activate Evasion! The attack is negated!” Yuzu yelled as she felt nostalgic. That feeling quickly went away when she saw the Doktor smile.

“I can negate activate spells or traps when Parasite Empress attacks!” The Doktor smiled as Yuzu’s duel disk showed a red X on her action card.

Yuzu put her arms in front of her body and closed her eyes to protect herself.

“Yuzu!” Serena, Ruri and Rin yelled as the bile hit Yuzu.

Yuzu felt the bile push her at least a few feet back as she slid across the concrete ceiling. Serena, Ruri and Rin floated over Yuzu as they called her name in worry as she laid flat on the ceiling. Yuzu opened her eyes and saw her three counterparts but couldn’t hear them. She tried to get up but could feel her strength leaving her as she struggled. She could feel her vision start to fade as the concrete grey floor morphed into a white crystal floor instead. She wondered if she had a concussion from the attack and was having a visual hallucination, but soon even the hallucination started to fade to black. As she was surrounded by darkness she heard something.

“Yuzu!” a desperate voice called, shocking her. As Yuzu regained her senses, the voice continued to call her name over and over and each time she heard the worried but kind voice, she could feel more of her strength coming back. After a few moments, she started to get up to see the environment around her was a white gem filled area. She realized that she was still hallucinating but at the same time everything felt so familiar. She turned her head to see the owner of the voice that awoke her, the voice that made her feel happy, safe and for some reason sad. Her eyes widened as she saw a blinding light covered the boy’s face. But for some reason a name started to come to her, a name of someone precious to her.

”Yu—“ She started before she heard something.

“Yuzu!” Serena, Ruri and Rin screamed which caused Yuzu to open her eyes as she realized she was lying on the dark grey ceiling of the prison in the Fusion Dimension. She picked herself off the ground as she felt stronger for some reason. She knew that it was likely the voice she heard was just an auditory hallucination but even still she could feel the voice still giving her strength, causing her to smile.

“Yuzu are you ok?” Serena worriedly asked.

“I’m fine, Serena” Yuzu said in a soft voice as she assured her friend.

“If you don’t think you can’t keep on dueling, one of us can take over” Ruri suggested.

“It’s ok. I have to finish what I started.” Yuzu rejected her offer, feeling oddly more confident.

“Don’t push yourself” Rin advised.

“Thanks everyone.” Yuzu thanked with a warm smile.

“If you had just lost consciousness, I would have won. Stop trying to delay the inevitable.” The Doktor stated.

“Maybe I should have lost consciousness then I wouldn’t have to listen to this cliché line. If you’re such a genius, think up something original to say” Yuzu attacked.

“Big words for the girl with only 100 life points left when I still have 4000. I set one card and end my turn.” The Doktor gloated.

Yuzu grimaced as she noticed that her arms and legs were red, but luckily they weren’t bleeding. She realized that she couldn’t go looking for action cards but with Parasite Empress’ effect they weren’t very useful anyway.

“It’s my turn draw!” Yuzu yelled as she did a small motion to draw her card, she smiled when she had drew the card that she needed. “I activate Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen from my hand. Valhalla’s effect activates, if I don’t have a monster on my field, I can special summon a Fairy-Type monster from my hand. I special summon Symphony the Melodious Diva(level 4 Attack: 1500 Defense: 1400). And I activate her effect, when she has been special summoned, I can special summon another Symphony from my deck but I can only use this effect once per turn! I special summon her in defense!” Yuzu said as she looked to Ruri. “Ready?” She smirked.

“Let’s show this monster what Ray is made of!” Ruri responded which Yuzu smiled in response to.

“I overlay my two level four Symphonies” Yuzu said as she pushed forward with her left arm causing her signature bracelet with two pink gems on the opposite side to flail around.

“Plentiful birds sing your melodies to defy winter’s cold grasp!” Ruri yelled.

“Let your voices combine into a song that can never be silenced!” Yuzu continued.

“Xyz Summon Rank 4, Bloom Passeri the Melodious Choir! (Attack: 2000 Defense: 1000)” Yuzu and Ruri said in unison as another bracelet with feather styled metal surrounded a yellow gem formed on Yuzu’s left arm.

As Yuzu and Ruri yelled, a yellow colored woman came out from the overlay network with white bird wings that extruded from her back as two golden orbs circled around her causing the Doktor to look in shock.

“You summoned a Xyz monster?!!!” The Doktor nearly yelled.

“Did you think I couldn’t?” Yuzu taunted.

“Yes. Unless, you did fuse with your Xyz Counterpart!!!!” The Doktor yelled in excitement. “Just think of the possibilities!!!”

Yuzu looked in disgust and felt rage starting to build in her heart.

“I activate Bloom Passeri’s effect. By sending an overlay unit to the graveyard, I can negate the effect of one my opponent’s monsters and turn its attack to zero till the end of the turn. I choose Parasite Empress. Vibration Disruption!” Yuzu yelled as her monster’s song covered the monstrous bug.

“My Empress!” The Doktor yelled.

“Blood Passeri attack and destroy that eyesore! Melody Destruction!” Yuzu and Ruri yelled.

“Not so fast! I activate my continuous trap card. Parasite guard! By sending one of my Parasite Fusioners to the graveyard, I can negate the destruction of one of my monsters this turn. I choose the Empress! Too BAD! You three will always be in the palm of my genius!’ The Doktor mocked.

“You still take 2000 points of damage” Yuzu countered with a smile.

As one of the parasites on the Empress’ body disappeared into light, the razor sharp winds hit Empress, knocking the Doktor off his feet as his life points dropped to 2000.

“I then set a card face down and end our turn. At this point your Empress regains her attack and effect.” Yuzu responded.

The Doktor struggled to pick himself up and then yelled, “My turn!” as he drew his card and his face again twisted into a smile. “I activate Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy your face down. And then Empress destroy her monster and the rest of her life points” he yelled.

Yuzu covered her face as the wind from his card destroyed her face down card. As Empress fired bile at Bloom Passeri, the monster’s wings covered her body and then suddenly the wing opened up, repelling the bile back on Empress’ face causing the Doktor’s smile to crumble as Yuzu’s showed a big smile on hers.

“When the card you destroyed, Grave Defense, is sent to the graveyard when on field, I can remove from play that card and one of my monsters in my graveyard and then choose one monster you control. The targeted monster loses Attack Points of the monster removed. I removed Elegy who had 2000 attack. So Empress’ attack drops from 3600 to 1600!” Yuzu explained as the Doktor’s face started to panic.

He clenched his teeth and yelled, “Parasite Guard’s effect activates again! I send another parasite to the graveyard and protect my Empress” As he said this, another parasite disappeared into light, dropping Empress’s attack from 1600 to 1300. He strained as Bloom Passeri’s counterattack dropped his life points to 1300. He then yelled with annoyance in his voice, “Empress’ effect. When a Parasite Fusioner is sent to the graveyard, I can choose one monster on the field and destroy it. I choose that annoying Bloom Passeri.”

After saying that Empress jumped back to life and fired more bile at Bloom Passeri. Once the bile hit Passeri, it exploded then dissolved into light.

“Bloom Passeri” Yuzu yelled as she braced from the explosion while the yellow gem bracelet disappeared as she felt her jaw clench.

“I then set one card face down and end my turn.” The Doktor yelled, obviously annoyed.

“It’s our turn!” Yuzu yelled as she drew and then smiled when she saw the card she drew. “I activate Valhall’s effect again as I don’t have any monsters on my field. I summon the tuner monster, Requiem the Melodious Diva(Level 3, Attack: 1000 Defense: 400). Because I special summoned her, I activate her effect. I can special summon a level four or lower Melodious monster from my graveyard. I choose the level four Symphony the Melodious Diva. And because I special summoned her, I can special summon another Symphony in from my deck in defense mode.” Yuzu said as she looked to Rin.

“What are you waiting for? A round of applause?” Rin joked as Yuzu felt her jaw start to relax.

“I tune my level four Symphony with my level three Requiem!” Yuzu yelled as she raised her left arm in the sky.

“Mighty winds circle the world as the sky’s cries become a song!” Rin cried.

“The world chills for those that dare harm it as the song roars!” Yuzu continued.

“Synchro Summon Level 7 Bloom Boreas the Melodious Choir(Attack: 2500 Defense: 1900)” Yuzu and Rin roared together as a bracelet with a green gem that had wind decoration surround the gem appear on Yuzu’s left arm.

As Yuzu and Rin yelled a green color woman appeared with metallic legs and arms.

“Synchro too. So you did fuse with all your counterparts like he did.” The Doktor calmly said.

“He?” Yuzu wondered as her counterparts looked uncomfortable.

Yuzu then refocused on her duel and focused the face down card on the Doktor’s field. Due to his Parasite Guard trap, Empress would survive one more turn and even if she got rid of the last of the parasites, it would just destroy her Bloom Boreas. While she would enjoy not having to see anymore parasites. That face down card was too dangerous to ignore especially with her low life points

Yuzu clench her teeth and said, “I set one card face down and end our turn.” Which caused Ruri and Rin to nod their heads in agreement.

The Doktor started to smile again which caused all of Ray to frown. “Look likes no matter how big you talk, you still fear my genius!!!” The Doktor again taunted as he drew causing Yuzu to nearly explode in rage. “Empress attack Bloom Boreas!”

As the Doktor yelled Empress fired a stream of bile as it neared Bloom Boreas Yuzu and Rin yelled, “Bloom Boreas’s effect activates once during either player’s battle phrase, I can remove a monster from my graveyard and add its attack to one of my monster attack. I remove one of my Symphony’s and add her attack to Bloom Boreas raising her 2500 attack to 4000.”

The Doktor only smiled in response, “Reveal face down card! Spirit Barrier! Now as long as I have a monster I take no battle damage. And you know what happens next” After he said this, Bloom Boreas blocked the stream of bile and then raced towards Empress as a sonic boom started to form in front of it. The Empress screamed in pain as Boreas passed through it. “Parasite Guard’s effect, I sent my last parasite to protect my Empress. Empress’s effect now activates, I destroy Bloom Boreas!” He said as his face started twist into insane laughter. “See while you might have tricked me, you can’t outsmart my genius. Accept the honor that I want you four as my test subjects. I set one more card face down.” Doktor laughed as Yuzu’s monster exploded and the bracelet with the green gem disappeared again.

Yuzu could feel her teeth grind together as she not heard the Doktor’s laughter but continued to see that damn parasite. But just as she was about to draw she again heard a voice that shocked her, her own voice.

“Smile, -----“ her voice rang, causing Yuzu to widen her eyes. “You Show Duel School’s a Duel School for cheerfulness and entertainment right? Don’t forget to smile.”

As Yuzu heard her voice, she realized she was recalling one of her memories. “Smile” the same voice that called for her in the gem filled area said. “Guess you’re right. Cheerful and entertaining is my motto after all.” The voiced said in a calm and soft voice that soothed the rage in her heart.

“Yuzu, you there?” Serena asked bring Yuzu back to the duel as she saw Serena, Ruri and Rin worryingly at her.

“Yeah …. Just I finally regained some of my memories.” Yuzu answered which caused all three to look in shock. “I just realized I was being a bit of a hypocrite earlier but I’m fine now.” She said with a smile which only confused the three of them as she placed her right pointer and middle fingers on top of her deck. “Because the fun is just getting started!” Yuzu smiled, shocking her counterparts even more.

“I activate Choir Switch out! I discard a Melodious monster in my hand and I can special summon another Melodious monster in my deck as long as the level is lower than the monster I discard. I discard Bloom Mozarta the Melodious Maesrta a level 8 monster to special summon the level 4 Soprano the Melodious Songstress. I activate her special effect, I can fusion summon with using any monsters that I control. I fuse Soprano and my remaining Symphony.” Yuzu said as she looked to Serena.

Serena shook off her shock and said, ”Lets get rid of that eyesore shall we?” to which Yuzu happily nodded her head.

“Beasts hiding in the moon’s light, roar as you claim your domain!” Serena started.

“Let these roars mix to create music which strikes fear in the hearts of evil!” Yuzu continued.

“Fusion summon Level 9 Bloom Liger the Melodious Choir (Attack: 3000 Defense: 2600)” Yuzu and Serena yelled together. Yuzu then intertwined her fingers as her hands clapped together as a bracelet with a huge blue gem appeared on her left arm.

As Yuzu and Serena ordered, a red colored woman appeared with fangs as she held two short swords as she wore armor.

“Bloom Liger’s special effect! When she’s fusion summoned, I choose one card from my deck and add it to my hand. Now Bloom Liger’s second effect activates, she gains attack points for each monster card in my graveyard times 100. There are 6, so Bloom Liger’s attack rises to 3600 attack.” Yuzu yelled as she readied her attack.

“Go Bloom Liger destroy that bug with Resounding Roar!” as Yuzu and Serena commanded their monster, Bloom Liger gave a mighty roar that hit Parasite Empress finally destroying the monster. “Now Liger’s final effect activates! After I’ve destroyed one of your monsters in battle, I can destroy all your spell and trap cards!” Yuzu commanded as her monster glowed a bright green.

“I activate my face down card. Spell protection. I can choose one card and it can’t be destroyed by card effects this turn. I choose Spirit Barrier!” The Doktor yelled as a protective bubble appeared around Spirit Barrier.

“And now I’ll show my genius!” The Doktor yelled. “I activate Parasite Guard’s second effect. By removing this card from my graveyard. I can special summon a Fusion Monster that lists Parasite Fusioner as fusion material and then destroy one of your monsters!” The Doktor yelled as Bloom Liger exploded pushing Yuzu off her feet as the bracelet with a blue gem disappeared. “Also due to Parasite Empress’ effect I attach my three Parasite Fusioners in the graveyard to her again. Her attack rises to 3900 once more. After all that using all three summoning methods, in the end we’re back to where we started again!!! And it’s all my turn next” The Doktor giggled.

“I end our turn then.” Yuzu said with a smile as she got up which caused the Doktor to giggle more.

“You finally realize the honor of being my test subject!!!!” The Doktor yelled as he drew his card. “Empress end this duel, it’s time to continue my work!”

As Yuzu heard his order she started jumping for action cards, shocking the Doktor. As the Doktor looked in shock, she continued to jump around the platforms the field magic created as her limbs started t ached from Parasite Empress earlier direct attack. She felt like her joints were breaking as red hot pain seared her senses. She ignored it and kept moving towards her target. As she continued to search, the image of a boy whose face she couldn’t remember appeared in her mind. While she couldn’t remember the details, she could remember how he continually faced pain and torment but kept a smile on his face. She could see how every day hurt him but he never gave up. As the silhouette of that boy was burned in her mind she only thought, “he suffered for years but kept going. He was beaten, mocked and even tortured so I can’t give up because of a little pain. I can’t give up, not now or ever.” As the image of that boy continued to give her strength, she finally found an action card and saw it was the exact one she was looking for. She then slide the card in her duel disk and yelled, “Evasion! I negate the attack!”

“Idiot, did you forget? I can negate spells or traps when Empress attacks. I negate your action card!” The Doktor screamed as his face twisted into a sadistic smile as he hoped to see the despair on her face. To his shock, Yuzu’s face instead showed a smile filed with hope.

“I activate Score the Melodious Diva’s special effect by discard her, I can banish two spell cards with the same name and that becomes her effect. So I banish my two Evasions and I negate your attack!” Yuzu countered which shocked the Doktor.

Yuzu then landed and saw her counterparts smiling at her and the Doktor running his hands through his thinning hair.

“Why, WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY!!!” Why won’t you give up?!” The Doktor yelled.

Yuzu smiled as she let Ruri take control. “I don’t expect you to understand but we’re face much worse odds than to let the likes of a fool who can’t spend more than five minutes without stroking his ego break our will.” Ruri angrily replied before letting Rin take control.

“In the end, your greatest achievement is adding to Real Solid Vision that the Professor perfected. And your genius is using our skills and strength to beat our friends and family. In this duel, Yuzu was always ahead of you despite the difference of 3900 life points at the start.” Rin added before she let Serena take control.

“No matter what you do, no matter what you say, we can’t lose to a middle aged coward who uses teenage girls do his dirty work. You say you’re a genius but you’re just a sad old man with a bug obsession.” Serena finished before returning control to Yuzu.

“Shut UP. SHUT UP. You will realize my genius. EVERYONE WILL.” The Doktor yelled.

“End your turn! You have no cards to play. It’s time to end this.” Yuzu commanded.

“It doesn’t matter, you can’t win. You only have one card in your hand and one facedown card. I’ll win my next turn, I end my turn.” The Doktor arrogantly said.

Yuzu smiled and said, “Don’t underestimate us”

“It’s our turn!” Yuzu, Serena, Ruri and Rin yelled together as Yuzu drew.

“I activate the spell card, Melodious Calling. I can choose two Melodious Pendulum monsters from my deck and add them to my hand as long as they have different names. I choose my Do the Melodious Diva and Ti the Melodious Diva. And I set my Scale one Do and my scale 10 Ti in my Pendulum scales.”

“Even so how can you beat my 3900 Attack Parasite Empress?” The Doktor laughed.

“With this. I activate my facedown card Pendulum rebirth! By halving my life points I can Pendulum summon Pendulum Monsters in my graveyard as long as its level is in between my scales. I revive Bloom Mozarta the Melodious Maesrta (Level 8 Attack 2800 Defense: 2200).” Yuzu commanded as her life points dropped to 50 as the pink gems on her bracelet sparkled.

“Bloom Mozarta’s special effect activates, when she’s been special summoned I can special summon a level 6 or lower Melodious monster from my graveyard. I special summon Aria (Attack: 1600 Defense: 1200).”

“What can those two weaklings do compared to my Masterpiece?” The Doktor yelled.

Yuzu only smiled in response which caused the Doktor to worry despite his arrogance. “I activate Bloom Passeri’s second effect. I removed this card in my graveyard from play and then I can choose one Melodious monster in my graveyard and give it’s effect to one monster on my field till the end of the turn. I choose Bloom Boreas and give it to my Bloom Mozarta and activate Mozarta’s new effect, I remove Canon and add her 1400 attack to my Mozarta’s 2800 attack to a full 4200 attack.” Yuzu calmly stated which caused the Doktor to sweat.

“IMPOSSIBLE. HOW COULD YOU. HOW WAS IT. WHO ARE YOU!!!!” The Doktor yelled with every fiber of his being as he realized that Aria had enough attack points to end the duel.

“We’re Ray.” Yuzu answered.

“Battle, Mozarta destroy Empress once and for all. Final Encore!!!!” Yuzu ordered as Mozarta took in a huge breathe and sang but no sound came out. But to the Doktor’s horror, he saw his Empress start to crumble causing him to whimper.

“Finally Aria take out the rest of his life points!” All of Ray ordered. Aria then gave a huge scream as an invisible stream of air hit the old man, knocking him out as his life points dropped to 0.

“Yes!” All of Ray cheered before Yuzu let her exhaustion and pain take over and let gravity work its magic as she sat on the ground.

“You did it, Yuzu” Serena congratulated with a big smile on her face.

Yuzu shaked her head and stated, “We did it. I only won because the four of us combined our powers. I got my pendulum cards with Bloom Liger’s effect. And then I used Bloom Passeri’s effect to use Bloom Boreas’ effect to finally destroy that bug. It was because of all of our power that we won.”

Serena, Ruri and Rin smiled in response before Rin asked, “Hey Yuzu about that phrase you said?”

“Phrase?” Yuzu wondered.

“The fun is just getting started. Where did you hear that?” Ruri asked worried.

Yuzu just smiled and said, “I have no idea. I just feel like someone I knew said it a lot.”

“Yuzu how much of your memories did you regain?” Serena asked trying to not let her worries show.

“Not much sadly. Just some scattered memories of You Show.” Yuzu said which caused the three of them to relax a bit. “But I do remember this boy though.” Yuzu added which scared the three of them. “I can’t remember his face or even his name. But just thinking of him, I just feel safe and happy” Yuzu said as she touched her chest which caused the three of them to look miserable. “I think he was a You Show student in Standard but the only students excluding myself are Tatsuya, Ayu, Futoshi and Sora and in my memory I saw all of them at his side as he dueled someone. But in the two months after You Show was destroyed, I didn’t see him at all.” Yuzu pondered.

The three of them started to panic but before any of them could say anything they could hear a cheerful voice yell, “Yuzu!!!” All four turned and saw four huge monsters in the sky as the Lancers came flying back. After the Lancers reached where Yuzu was sitting, Yoko jumped off Sky Magician and gave Yuzu a bit hug which Yuzu gave a small smile in response too.

“Yuzu are you ok? We didn’t realize we left you with that. Till after Zarc disappeared.” Yoko said as she pointed to the knocked out Doktor.

“Disappeared?” Yuzu asked while still being hugged by Yoko.

“Yeah after fighting with us for half an hour, he transformed back into his human self. As we looked in confusion, he escaped.” Asuka said as she punched her open hand.

“Instead of Phantom King, we should rename coward king for all the times he’s been running away. I’m sure Sawatari and Crow would enjoy that.” Sora said as he licked one of his trademark lollipops.

“I would ask how did you do but I think that tells us everything we need to know.” Yusho smiled as he looked to the Doktor’s knocked out form.

“Good job, Missy! As I expected from the girl that beat me.” Chojiro said as pride filled his voice.

“So all Zarc did try to take that out?” Yuzu said once Yoko finally stopped hugging her.

“No. When me and Sora arrived someone already had escaped.” Asuka corrected.

“What?” Serena asked.

“Do we know who it was?” Yusho asked.

“We can always find out.” Asuka answered.

“So that means Zarc did free someone from the Academia.” Chojiro said as the Lancers started to grimace in response to his words.

Yuzu decided to ask the question in her mind hoping to change the mood.

“Ah Mrs. Sakaki, Sora can I ask a question?”

“No problem.” Sora instantly asked

“You really don’t have to ask.” Yoko happily answered.

“In the You Show in Standard, the original. What happened to a student that liked to say ‘The Fun is just getting started.’?” Yuzu asked.

Once Yuzu asked the question, everything went silent as Yusho, Yoko, Chojiro and Sora started to frown while Asuka looked away.

“What?” Yuzu asked seeing how her question depressed them.

“He ….. he was a student that really enjoyed the Entertainment philosophy of You Show” Sora quietly said.

“So what happened to him then?” Yuzu asked as she could feel their anguish.

“He … he” Yoko started.

“he quit.” Sora forced himself to say.

“Quit? But I remember that he would never give up” Yuzu thought. But as Yuzu looked at everyone’s faces, she realized that something was wrong. If that boy was just a student, why would Mr. Tokumatsu, who had never been to You Show, look in anguish. Yuzu realized that her questions were causing everyone pain, but for some reason she couldn’t stop. Somewhere deep inside of her heart, she knew that she was close to that boy and that knowledge spurned her to keep asking.

“What was his name?” As Yuzu asked this question, Yusho and Yoko looked at each other in pain

“Yugi. He always liked games so his parents named him that.” Yusho said in a big laugh that sounded like he really wanted to cry.

Realized that they were never going to tell her about that boy, Yuzu decided to drop it for now. But even so she wondered what about the boy was so special that the Lancers would lie to her about it. And why did she dream about his voice last night?

Zarc again dragged his feet inside his base in agony as everything hurt. “Me damn Lancers. You’d think if someone turned into a freaking dragon, you stay away from him. But no they had to keep on chasing me for half an hour” He whined as he sat down on the softest chair in the base.

“Rough day?” A voice asked.

“Yep. Hey I know that Barrett got away but did the Doktor come here?” Zarc asked.

“Only Barrett.” The voice responded which caused Zarc to facepalm.

“I gave him half an hour and what did that idiot do?! Oh me, he dueled Ray didn’t he?” Zarc pondered.

“But I thought we were going to combine his parasites with my androids to create an invincible army? What are we going to do now that you messed up?!” the Voice yelled.

Zarc turned his head as he glared at the owner of the voice, “I did say that weren’t partners. But at the same time.” Zarc then turned into Yuri, causing the owner of the voice to flinch. “That doesn’t mean you’re my superior or even equal, Roger.”

Roger snarled at being disrespected, “But a major part of the plan included the Doktor’s technology.”

“We just continue on without him.” Zarc calmly said.

“How?” Roger asked which caused Zarc to smile.

“Well, I think I had enough of only letting the Lancers know of my return. So let show the dimensions that I’m back with a bang!” Zarc said with a smile.

“How?” Roget asked looking puzzled.

“With the murder of Jack Atlas.” Zarc said with a smile.
